  • The objective of the study is to analyze the relative performance of factors affecting indoor air quality in multi-residential buildings in Korea. A study of the factors affecting indoor air quality is essential for establishing indoor air quality management strategies effectively. To observe the indoor air quality response following a modification of a given parameter, a sensitivity analysis was performed. The factors examined for the analysis include; wall/ceiling paper, adhesive for wall/ceiling paper, floor material, adhesive for floor material, and ventilation rate. The Experimental Design which identifies main effects among the design parameters with a few experiments was used to decrease the number of experiments. The simulation for indoor air quality was undertaken using a validated equation. Then, ANOVA(Analysis of Variance) was performed to evaluate the relative importance of each parameter affecting the indoor air quality. The result of the study indicates that the indoor air quality may be influenced most by adhesive for wall/ceiling paper, followed by ventilation rate and adhesive for floor material.

  • Quality of a new system is closly related to the quality of components in reuse repository. Quality assessment is essential to construct a reuse library. Definition of quality and method of assessment are totally different in reuse environments. User interface, functionality, performance are main factor in non-reuse development environment. However, reuse environment needs more reusability, extensibility, generality, and maintainability in quality assessment. This paper describes a development of quality assessment tool for multimedia object reuse conponents. Tool gets reuse components described by C++ or IDL, and analyses style, structure, coupling, strength, complexity, understandability, etc. Ultimatly the tool generate quality satisfaction degree for reuse programmers. Quality assessment services are supported in distributed object architecture, CORBA.

  • Multiprocessor system on chip (MPSoC) platforms has set a new innovative trend for the SoC design. Quality of service parameters and performance matrix are leading to the adoption of new design methodology for SoC, which will incorporate highly scalable, reusable, predictable, cost and energy efficient platform not only for underlying communication backbone but also for the entire system architecture of NOC. Like the layered architecture for the communication backbone of NOC, we have proposed the entire system architecture for NOC to be a seven layered architecture in itself. Such a platform can separate the domain specific issues which will model concurrency along with the synchronization issues more effectively. For such a layered architecture, model of computation will provide a framework to that can model concurrency and synchronization issues which are natural for any application. Therefore it becomes extremely important to use a right computation model in a specific NOC region.

  • The term ecosystem services refers to natural ecosystems' benefits to humans. Various models have been developed and applied to quantify ecosystem services. Habitat quality assessment is a widely used leading InVEST ecosystem service model. In Korea, habitat quality assessment is conducted for national parks. For habitat quality assessment, the initial value of habitat quality must be used to assess the sensitivity to threats, which varies depending on the country and application field. Therefore, an expert survey (AHP) was conducted based on previous habitat quality assessments in national parks to adjust the sensitivity, the initial value for the habit quality assessment. As a result of the AHP, 18 items were adjusted, including 10 items, such as natural grassland and unarranged fields, upward and 8 items, such as rivers and ponds, downward. Based on the adjusted sensitivity results, the habitat quality of Bukhansan National Park and Gyeryongsan National Park (urban type), Gyeongju National Park (historic type), Hallyeohaesang National Park (ocean type), and Jirisan National Park and Seoraksan National Park (mountain type) were adjusted. The results of the analysis showed that the habitat quality of urban dry areas and water bodies distributed in the national parks was reflected in the habitat quality assessment. In the future, it will be possible to evaluate the habitat quality of natural parks using this standard.

  • Recently, component-based development (CBD) is rapidly spreading as a way of improving the reusability, productivity, and quality of software. For CBD to be effective in achieving such design objectives, the creation and integration of components must be based on a well-defined architecture that guides the correct composition and cooperation of application components. Software architecture must be described using an architecture description language (ADL) to ensure the correctness and preciseness of architecture models. In this paper, we propose the system architecture of an ADL tool set that can effectively support the use of CBD based on the domain architecture and we describe each component of the proposed system architecture. We also modify and redefine C2SADL that was developed to support the use of the description of C2 architectural style by UCI (University of California in Irvine) to facilitate the integration of separately described architecture models, and introduce the method of design and implementation of our ADL processor that partially implements the proposed ADL system architecture.

  • Evaluating the qualitative the qualitative process of water resources by using various indicators, as one of the most prevalent methods for optimal managing of water bodies, is necessary for having one regular plan for protection of water quality. In this study, zoning maps were developed on a yearly basis by collecting and reviewing the process, validating, and performing statistical tests on qualitative parameters҆ data of the Iranian aquifers from 1995 to 2020 using Geographic Information System (GIS), and based on Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW), Radial Basic Function (RBF), and Global Polynomial Interpolation (GPI) methods and Kriging and Co-Kriging techniques in three types including simple, ordinary, and universal. Then, minimum uncertainty and zoning error in addition to proximity for ASE and RMSE amount, was selected as the optimum model. Afterwards, the selected model was zoned by using Scholar and Wilcox. General evaluation of groundwater situation of Iran, revealed that 59.70 and 39.86% of the resources are classified into the class of unsuitable for agricultural and drinking purposes, respectively indicating the crisis of groundwater quality in Iran. Finally, for validating the extracted results, spatial changes in water quality were evaluated using the Groundwater Quality Index (GWQI), indicating high sensitivity of aquifers to small quantitative changes in water level in addition to severe shortage of groundwater reserves in Iran.

  • Importance of FM has rapidly increased because of its growing business. However, due to lack of clarity and identity of FM in professional areas, standardization of FM became to be imperative in such a rapidly changing global business environment. Facility services are defined as the provision of support the primary activities of an organization, delivered by an internal or external provider. Majority of FM activities are services related to 'space and infrastructure' and 'people and organization' (CEN, 2011). The purpose of this study is to investigate definitions and characteristics of FM from both globally and domestic environment, by comparison with international or national standards, to identify quality management in FM and service characteristics of FM, to investigate the differences in service level elaboration in FM, and to suggest standard issues of quality management in FM service quality. This study examines contents of the European Standards in FM, Part 3 'Guidance on quality in Facility Management, especially for the process of QM standardized by CEN (2011) and explores undefined issues such as service level, measurement metrics according to service characteristics of FM. The European FM Standard guides the common process of QM in terms of requirements specification, service level elaboration, measurement metrics development although it does not specifically address various service levels, specific performance metrics and indicators.
