  • Purpose:?The purpose of this study is to analyze the causal relationship between top management 's leadership and construction quality management activities that affect construction management performance based on construction quality management. Methods:?As its method, the causal relationship between the leadership of top management and the key management factors of construction quality management activities affecting management performance is analyzed by using the structural equation model. The construction companies used in the analysis sample conducted surveys on companies that are conducting ISO, KOSHA, OHSAS, DQC, and so on. Results:?It was revealed that top management's leadership has a great influence on management performance and all management factors of construction quality management activities. However, safety management does not affect the management performance of construction quality management activities. And top management's leadership on management performance are explained by the mediating effect of cost, time, quality and communication among management factors of construction quality management activities. Conclusion:?In the previous study, the quality management activities and the ISO - based integrated total quality management system (TQM) applied in the manufacturing or service industries were presented as empirical results. However, this study presents the results of different studies by presenting empirical study results by selecting time, cost, quality, safety and communication as key management factors of quality management activities of construction companies through reviewing and analyzing previous studies in construction field.

  • Purpose: In the meantime, studies on the measurement methods of service quality have mainly been conducted in views of the service recipients. In this study, we introduce a co-orientation model that compares the perceptions of service provider and recipient and examine the applicability in service quality field. Methods: In this study, we conducted a case study on the specific service called 'National R&D Project Plan Evaluation Service' to examine the applicability of the co-orientation model in the service quality field. Results: We could identify the phenomenon of how service providers and recipients perceive differently about specific services introduced in the case study. This study confirms that it can be used to identify problems in mutually oriented service quality activities and to take practical measures to improve them. As we have seen in this case study, the co-orientation model is expected to be of great help in exploring opportunities for quality improvement in the area of service quality. Conclusion: The service quality co-orientation model allows the service provider to distinguish between what they think of differently with the service recipient and what they have in common, so the service provider will be able to find the agenda of service quality improvement.

  • Apparel Quality was one of the most important elements to evaluate the reputations of companies and products which affect the consumer's purchasing behavior. From researches on apparel quality, there was no common concept of quality as well as no common dimensions. The purposes of this study were to identify apparel quality concept and to classify the multi-dimensional concept of apparel quality. The research was carried out in theoretical as well as empirical studies. The theoretical study was conducted to find out apparel quality concept and divide apparel quality concept into four dimensions groups. The empirical study followed the theoretical study to confirm the multi-dimensional concept of apparel quality. The empirical study was investigated that the questionnaire was administered to 634 housewives in Seoul, Kwangju, and Busan during the fall of 1996. The data were analysed by LISREL analysis. This study identified that apparel quality was characteristics of consumer's desires for apparel. The results of the theoretical study verified that apparel quality concept was organized into four different dimensions: physical attribute, physical function, instrumental performance, and expressive performance.

  • Background: This study analyzes the linear and non-linear effects of the hard and soft dimensions of job quality on the overall health of wage workers. It also examines the congruence or fit between the hard and soft job quality on the overall health of wage workers. Methods: This study measured thirty indicators that constitute job quality and reduced the indicators into twelve sub-dimensions of job quality using reflective factor analysis. In addition, this study derived two dimensions of job quality from the twelve subdimensions, namely the hard and soft job quality using formative factor analysis. This paper applied the response surface analysis to analyze the congruence effect between the two dimensions of job quality. Results: A logarithmic relationship was found between the dimension of hard job quality and the worker's overall health. This study also verified that the congruence effect between the two dimensions of job quality does not exist, and the combined effect of job quality is lower when the two dimensions of job quality are at the same level than the effect when either level of job quality is high or low. Conclusions: Although hard and soft job quality has independent positive effects on the overall health of wage workers, the two dimensions of job quality are not congruent or not in harmony with each other. This incongruence between hard and soft job quality, together with a higher impact of hard job quality, suggests that the role of soft job quality on overall health is relatively limited.

According to the analysis on different quality of sleep depending on general characteristics, women had more sleep disturbances as they didn't have any part-time job. In terms of the correlation between quality of sleep and quality of life, physical health and total score (quality of life) had correlations with daytime dysfunction. With regard to influential factors on quality of sleep, rest & sleep as a domain of occupational performance and work affected quality of sleep. Students' quality of sleep will be improved if they keep regular habits of living, have rest appropriately for alleviating their stress, and do their jobs with interest and successfully according to a procedure. It is expected that the results of this study will be helpful to care for the health of would-be experts in charge of national health care.

  • Purpose - The aim of this study is to develop an empirical model of the effects of traditional market service quality factors on customer value, relationship quality, and behavior. The specific objectives of the study are as follows: 1) to classify study objects into cultural tourism markets and non-cultural tourism markets as well as to verify the differences in service quality among the two markets and, 2) to present practical service marketing methods that fit with the characteristics of the traditional markets by amending the five quality evaluation items of SERVQUAL (a multiple-item scale for measuring service quality)to suit the characteristics of the traditional markets and establish the relationship among customer value, relationship quality, and behavior intention. Research design, data, and methodology - The study methods of empirical investigation are as follows. First, this study selected for a study object the Suwon Paldalmun Gate Market to represent the cultural tourism market, and general traditional markets to represent the non-cultural tourism market. This study also conducted personal interviews in order to increase the response rate and collected a total of 418 responses between March 18, 2014 and April 05, 2014. The total of 418 responses used for this study excluded 14 responses that had either misleading information or missing values. Results - This study verified the perceived differences of service quality based on traditional market specialization through an independent sample t-test. It appeared that the perceived service quality of the cultural tourism market was generally higher than that of the non-cultural tourism market. This study executed a path analysis in order to examine the effects of service quality factors on customer value, relationship quality, and behavior intention. This study also comprehensively analyzed the specialized market and non-specialized market separately. Although there were some differences among the results, the overall results were uniform. It appeared that convenience, reliability, and empathy, among the service quality factors, exerted meaningful effects on customer value. On the other hand, convenience, reliability, responsiveness, and empathy, excluding the tangibles, exerted meaningful effects on the relationship quality. In addition, it appeared that all service quality factors exerted meaningful effects on the customer value, relationship quality, and behavior intention. Therefore, the study verified that all of the hypotheses formulated in the study were generally adopted. Conclusions - The implication of this study may be classified into academic and practical implication as follows. With respect to the academic implication, it seems that this study is among the early studies to verify the differences between the cultural tourism market and the non-cultural tourism market. The practical implication of this study is that the perceived service quality, such as convenience, reliability, responsiveness, and tangibles, excluding empathy, was higher in the cultural tourism market than in the non-cultural tourism market. This means that customer satisfaction is enhanced by governmental aid such as hardware, software, and information and communications technology.

  • This study was designed to analyze the relationship of process quality, result quality and management performance in Korean insurance industry. For this study the linkage scheme of service quality concept is used on PZB model and BSC(Balances Score Card) system. In the linkage model, the 5 service qualitry factors used in PZB model are used as the result quality variables, and internal process factor, learning/growth factor in BSC are used the process quality variables affecting the result quality variables. And also customer satisfation factor and financial performance index are used as the management performance variables. In the ivsurance industry, the process quality variables were verified to meaningfully affect the result quality variables, and the result service quality variables were verified to affect the management performance indices. As the result, the process quality and the service quality must be emhanced for the competitiveness of Korean insurance industry.
