Purpose: The purpose of this research is to develop defense quality evaluation model in order to improve the problem of private sector quality evaluation model and propose the total integrated defense quality management model which enables to evaluate not only large defense industry, but also small-medium industry. Methods: This paper consider the characteristics on ISO 9001 Quality Management System, single PPM, PASS and defense quality and develop defense quality maturity model and index which enables to measure the current quality management level and characteristics and to evaluate operational characteristics in each maturity level for domestic defense industry. Results: From 176 DQMS certified defense industry, the defense quality maturity level is 68,2, C grade. The large defense industry shows, 80.9, A grade; medium industry 69.7, C grade; small-medium industry shows 54.1, D grade. Through the classified types of industries, the current level of quality management of defense industries was diagnosed and the areas to be supplemented for the total quality management were identified. Conclusion: Developed DQMI can be used as the basic information for spreading quality management activities in the defense industry by diagnosing the overall quality management of existing defense industries and quantifying the ambiguity of non-metric measurements and measurement standard that were presented as the threshold of the defense quality management system certification process.

In the product development stage, it is very important to ensure demanded quality level before moving to the full-scale manufacturing. For example, in developing guided weapons, live-fire tests are required to verify the final performance of the weapons which are very expensive. The quality evaluation of the guided weapons needs destructive testing, which makes it necessary to test as small number of samples as possible. This paper presents sampling inspection plans and calculating system for finite population guided weapons, which can meet the demanded quality level and confidence level with the minimum number of performance tests. The result of this paper can be useful for any kind of costly destructive testing.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between quality of life, self-efficacy and family support of stroke patients in Oriental medicine hospitals. The subjects of this study were 211 hospitalized stroke patients in seven oriental medicine hospitals in the Busan Metropolitan, Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongsanbuk-do area. Data was collected through questionnaires from June 1st, 2002 to September 30th, 2002. 1) The relationship between general characteristics and other variables showed significant differences as follows : for general self-efficacy degree, age, occupation, and level of education ; for family support, level of education and occupation ; for quality of life, level of education, occupation, religion, and monthly income. 2) The relationship between disease-related characteristics and other variables showed significant differences as follows ; for general self-efficacy, level of paralysis, and periods of hospitalization ; for specific character of paralysis, level of paralysis, and periods of hospitalization ; for family support, care-giver, character of paralysis, level of paralysis, and periods of hospitalization related; for quality of life, level of paralysis, and periods of hospitalization. 3) There was a significant correlation between the quality of life and general self-efficacy, the quality of life and the specific self-efficacy, the specific self-efficacy and family support.
The purpose of this study is to find out the repercussion of mothers' quality of object relation and hope on their children's emotional and behavioral disorder level and satisfaction level on counseling. Participants were 112 children between ages of 6 and 12, and the 112 mothers of those children. Questionnaires for mothers were used to assess their object relation level, hope level, and counseling satisfaction level. Questionnaires for children were used to assess their depression and aggression level. Results were as follows: First, mothers with lower object relations had children with higher depression and aggression levels. Second, children of the mothers who scored higher object relation levels scored higher on the satisfaction level on counseling. Third, among the mother's object relation level, hope level, and counseling satisfaction level, the object relation level appeared to have the strongest repercussion on the child's emotional and behavioral problems. The results of this study can be used as a base material to improve the effect of play therapy for the children who have emotional and behavioral problems, on helping the children and their mothers to have positive object relations.
A manufacturing/remanufacturing system is investigated with the consideration of required minimum quality of end-of-used products. A constant demand is satisfied by remanufacturing end-of-used products and manufacturing raw materials outsourced from outside. It is assumed in this system that the buyback price and remanufacturing cost are related to the different quality level of end-of-used products. For remanufacturing, only the used products that satisfy a required minimum quality level will be recycled. Thus, the returning rate is a function of the required minimum quality level. Functions of returning rate, buyback price and remanufacturing cost, which are closely connected to the quality level of end-of-used products, are investigated here. Treating the required minimum quality level of end-of-used products, the length of a cycle, the number of manufacturing lots and remanufacturing lots in a cycle as decision variables, the mathematical models with the objective of minimizing the average total cost are constructed. Through construction of a solution process based on Tabu Search algorithm and calculating examples, the validity of the models is illustrated.
Purpose - This research identifies the meaning of the core capability level of Car Master and the reason why its service at the Moment of Truth should be demonstrated through empirical cases. It can be seen that this study differs from existing research because it proposes that the recognized core capability level to achieve customer satisfaction should focus on the mediating effect of Moment of Truth quality. This paper examines the effect of Car Master's recognized core capability level on customer satisfaction by using the variables mentioned above. Moreover, this study uses regression analysis to verify that the mediating effect of Moment of Truth quality on Car Master's capability level achieves customer satisfaction. Research design, data, and methodology - First, we present evidence that could apply to Car Master's recognized core capability level by detailing the relationship between customer satisfaction and a structuring factor for Car Master's core capability level. Our proposed research model observes the relationship between the structuring factor of core capability and customer satisfaction. Second, we had an opportunity to define how the core capability and Moment of Truth quality affect customer satisfaction by performing empirical analysis on the partial mediating effect of Moment of Truth quality at a recognized core capability level and Moment of Truth quality affecting customer satisfaction. Results - First, the results indicate that Car Master's recognized core capability level (product professionalism, marketing skill, and reliability) positively affects customer satisfaction. Second, the results show that an ability to listen and a sense of dedication positively affect customer satisfaction, and are among the Moment of Truth quality factors; but performance capability, which is one of the Moment of Truth quality factors, does not positively affect customer satisfaction. These results clearly differ from prior studies focused on Moment of Truth quality and consumer satisfaction. Third, the results show that Moment of Truth quality has a partial mediating effect in terms of the impact of Car Master's recognized core capability level in achieving consumer satisfaction. Conclusions - This research indicates that the company will be able to expand if they investigate and show an interest in more training and education for Car Master. The study verified that outstanding Car Masters show differentiated performance on customer satisfaction at the Moment of Truth in various instances. Thus, we believe that this is the time for a discussion on systematic and empirically recognized core capability levels and the Moment of Truth quality. The study on Car Master's recognized core capability level offers suitable solutions for Car Masters to respond to customers at the Moment of Truth. Further, this study emphasizes the importance of service as a critical factor having a direct relationship with the company's success and failure and contributing to building trust with the customer. Thus, an investment in continuous education and training for Car Master will help the growth of the business.

Mechanical stress and the vacuum level are the two main factors dominating the quality factor of a resonator operated in the vacuum range 1 mTorr to 10 Torr. This means that if the quality factor of a resonator is very insensitive to the mechanical stress in the vacuum range, it is sensitive to mainly the ambient vacuum level. In this paper, a wafer-level packaged MEMS resonator with a highly vacuum-sensitive quality factor is presented. The proposed device is characterized by a package with out-of-plane symmetry and a suspending structure with only a single anchor. Out-of-plane symmetry helps prevent deformation of the packaged device due to thermal mismatch, and a single-clamped structure facilitates constraint-free displacement. As a result, the proposed device is very insensitive to mechanical stress and is sensitive to mainly the ambient vacuum level. The average quality factors of the devices packaged under pressures of 50, 100, and 200 mTorr were 4987, 3415, and 2127, respectively. The results demonstrated the high controllability of the quality factor by vacuum adjustment. The mechanical robustness of the quality factor was confirmed by comparing the quality factors before and after high-temperature storage. Furthermore, through more than 50 days of monitoring, the stability of the quality factor was also certified.

Purpose: The Purpose of this study was to examine the factors on the nursing home quality indicators. Methods: The subjects of this study were 377 residents living in the nursing home more than 30 bed. The subject's minimum length of residence is 3 months and age of the subject is year of 65 over. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and multilevel analysis. Results: The main result of the study were in following. First, the quality gap among nursing homes resulted from both institutional and person level factors. Second, the person level factors affecting the quality of nursing home included ALD. However institution level factors had no direct effect on dependent valuable. Third, the interaction effect between the institution and person level factors was found. The ADL have less effect on the quality of nursing homes doing more quality management than of nursing homes doing less. Forth, The effect of ADL was different according to the level of care planing and satisfaction survey. Conclusion: These results suggest that the determinants of nursing home quality indicators were ADL & quality management. This study will contribute to apply nusing home quality indicators in Korea.
Background : As an empirical study, current research about the quality of social services carried out in general and teaching hospitals across the country. In the flux of health care reforms and market transformation, the quality of social services in the hospital becomes increasingly significant. Methods : A sample of total 80 hospitals, including general hospitals with one social worker at least and single-department hospital with two social workers or more, were identified nationwide through the registry of Korean Association of Medical Social Workers and Korean Association of Hospitals. The subjects of this survey were 80 leaders of social service units. The survey data from each subjects were measured to evaluate level of quality that service provider perceived of sample hospitals. Under the method of one-way ANOVA and multiple regression, the level of quality in social work service was analyzed. Results : The major findings were as following ; First, the level of quality perceived showed less score, especially the lowest was the score of quality of outcome. Second, the key variables of each hospital which turned out significantly different in quality of social work service were the departmental form of social work unit, unit leader's age, educational level, field experience, and job rank. Third, the level of quality of social work service correlated positively with the field experience of unit leader, the size of social work unit, the job rank of the unit leader. Conclusion : The most influential variables to the quality of social work service proved departmental form of social work unit, leader of social work unit. Therefore, to assure the proper level of quality, social work unit in hospital must be structured single, independent department in which entitled social worker is supposed to supervise and manage. And a leadership-development program for leaders in social work unit are strongly recommended.
Purpose: This paper study the effect of the quality management on the performance among the manufacturing companies awarding the Korean National Quality Award(NQA). Methods: The data for 34 manufacturing companies are surveyed by the 7-point Likert scale and empirically tested. Results: Even among the companies awarding NQA for their excellent quality management level there are significant differences in their performance by their quality management levels. In particular, leadership and human resources categories have greater impacts on the performance. Conclusion: Even though the company awarded NQA(KQMA: Korean Quality Management Award) for its excellent quality management level, it is necessary to improve the quality management level continuously. This result supports the necessity of KQGA(Korean Quality Grand Award) which is awarded for the companies which improve quality management levels significantly after awarding KQMA.
