Nowadays, the competitiveness of any organisations rests dominantly on how they can manage their performance, A host of performance variables such as quality, reliability, and efficiency are recognised as competitive priorities. This paper reviews the criteria and dimensions of performance measures, and discusses six core performance indicators in agribusiness operations with particular reference to the poultry/broiler farms. Besides, a holistic "Quality, Reliability and Efficiency" view of performance is proposed when developing measures for poultry agribusiness operations.

Quality Assurance Principles must be effectively implemented in developments and in use of safety critical software in nuclear industry. Brief definitions related to computer software and quality assurance were defined and several methods for evaluating software quality were proposed herewith. Independent verification and validation was suggested to assure the quality of safety critical software.

6 sigma movement is the most prominent quality improvement methodology in practice. Measurement plays an important role in helping any organization improve quality. Therefore, the measurement systems analysis is the first step for the quality improvement of manufacturing process in 6 sigma movement. In this study, we investigate the effect of Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility(Gage R&R) in view of defect rate and process capability indices, and provide guidelines for acceptance of gage repeatability and reproducibility(%R&R) for six sigma quality.

The international competition in refrigerator markets has continuously required the research for sound quality of a refrigerator to improve the quality of a life. In this paper, A new method for evaluation of the sound quality of a refrigerator is developed based on human sensibility engineering by using ANN(Artificial neural network). Finally it is applied to evaluate the sound qualify of refrigerator on the production line.

In this paper, a reference-free perceptual quality metric is proposed for image assessment. It measures the amount of overall blockiness and blurring in the image. And edge-oriented artifacts, such as ringing, mosaic and staircase noise are also considered. In order to give a single quality score, the individual artifact scores are adaptively combined according to the difference between the edge-oriented artifacts and other artifacts. The quality score obtained by the proposed algorithm shows strong correlation with the MOS values by VQEG.

Many studies reported that some organizations experience benefits of quality as well as the productivity due to the implementation of ISO9000. However, there are significant differences across countries, industries and organizations. This paper examines the current quality management practices in the Hong Kong construction industry under the ISO 9000 environment by a postal survey. It focuses on the success factors of ISO 9000 implementation in the industry. The findings support the views that changes in the organization are needed to realize the benefits brought by ISO 9000.

Spatial and temporal analyses of water qualities were performed for 11 monitoring stations located in Mangyung watershed in order to analyze the trends of monthly water quality data of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Nitrogen (TN) and Total Phosphorus (TP) measured from 1995 to 2004. The long-term trends were analyzed utilizing Seasonal Mann-Kendall test, LOWESS and three-dimensional graphs were constructed with respect to distance and time. The graph can visualize spatial and temporal trend of the long-term water quality in a large river system. The results of trend analysis indicated that water quality of BOD and TN showed the downward trend. This quantitive and quantitative analysis is the useful tool to analyze and display the long-term trend of water quality in a large river system.

The purpose of this study is to implement web-based quality cost management system to measure the performance of quality improvement activities in the business firms. Developed WQCMS(Web-based Q-Cost Management System) have ability to collect and analyze quality data generated from various different departments in the inside or outside of the enterprise without any limitations, if end-users are able to access wide area network. It provides the capability to integrate quality information from database and to generate various easy analysis reports to management's needs using built-in analysis tool modules with real-time. The proposed system was developed using Microsoft's .Net technology, ASP.NET and MS-SQL Server 2000. By web-enabling Q-cost management system, the effectiveness of the system management and utilization was realized by easiness of information integration and economical efficiency.

정부는 공공데이터 개방을 통해 신산업, 일자리 창출 등 경제 활성화를 위한 도구로 활용하는 것을 목표로 한다. 정부는 고품질의 공공데이터 보유를 위하여 품질 개선 활동을 통해 공공데이터 품질 향상을 진행하고 있다. 그러나 공공데이터 품질관리 수준 진단을 진행하는 담당자의 데이터에 대한 전문성과 이해도에 따라 품질진단 결과에 격차가 발생하여 진단 결과의 신뢰성을 보장하기 어렵다. 본 논문은 공공데이터의 원활한 품질진단 지원을 위해 품질진단규칙 매핑 모델을 제안하여 공공데이터 품질진단의 안정성과 신뢰성을 높인다.
