기본간호학회지에 게재된 질적 연구의 분석 (Analysis of Qualitative Research Published by Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamentals of Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze reports of qualitative research published in Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamentals of Nursing (JKAFN). Methods: Twenty four qualitative research studies using in-depth interviews and focus group interviews published in JKAFN from 1994 to 2014 were selected for analysis. Chosen reports were analyzed by consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative research (COREQ), which is a reporting guideline for qualitative research. COREQ consists of 32 items and 3 domains. Results: In the 1st domain, the relationship of researchers and research participants, bias and understanding of the researchers on the study phenomenon were analyzed less than other items. In the 2nd domain, methodological research was carried out across various qualitative studies, but the description of the research environment and research questions for the interview guidelines was insufficient. In the 3rd domain, research results and data were consistent, but data showing opposing content and explanations of negative practices were not done at all. Conclusion: These results indicate a need for the development of evaluation tools for qualitative research and items should be added to improve the reliability and validity, research should be related to the ethics in the framework of the COREQ.

  • Objectives This study was aimed to analyze the reports of qualitative research published in domestic Korean medicine journals.Methods Eleven published qualitative research studies were selected for analysis. Selected reports were analyzed by Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ), a reporting guideline for qualitative research.Results In the 1st domain, descriptions of personal characteristics, interviewer's bias or assumption were insufficient. In the 2nd domain, descriptions such as presence of non-participants, research questions for the interview guidelines, data saturation and transcript return to participants were insufficient. In the 3rd domain, descriptions of items related to number of data coder, participants evaluating the finding, and clarity of minor themes were insufficient.Conclusions Qualitative studies in Korean Medicine have increased. COREQ should be considered by investigators who report qualitative research, in order to improve the quality of research.

질적 연구를 위한 '교육학적 현상학'의 한계와 문제 (The Limits and Problems of 'Pedagogical Phenomenology' for Qualitative Research)

  • 본 연구는 국내의 교육학 분야에서 '현상학적 방법'을 활용하여 질적연구를 수행할 경우에 나타나는 연구자들의 한계와 문제를 구체적인 사례를 통해 제시해 보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 주지하다시피 '교육학적 현상학' 은 교육학 분야에서 현상학이나 현상학적 방법을 활용하여 연구를 수행하는 것으로서, 인간의 삶과 밀접한 교육의 문제를 과학주의나 실증주의의 접근방법이 아니라 그 문제 현상(사태) 자체에서 해명을 시도해보고자 하는 것이다. 그런데 국내 질적 연구자들에 의해 순수현상학(철학적 현상학)이 이러한 응용현상학(교육학적 현상학) 분야에 활용되면서 다양한 문제들이 나타나고 있다. 그 중에서 가장 대표적인 것이 바로 질적 연구의 논리를 구성하고 있는 현상학에 대한 연구자의 충분한 이해가 부족하다든가 아니면 지오르기(A. Giorgi)나 반 매넌(M. van Manen) 등 외국학자들의 연구절차나 기법들을 무조건적으로 수용하는 문제라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 '현상학적 방법'을 활용하여 질적 연구를 수행할 경우에, 연구자는 연구논리에 대한 충분한 이해를 전제로 하여 단순히 고정된 연구절차나 방법을 사용하는 것이 아니라 연구대상자에게서 나타나는 다양한 현상들을 연구자 자신의 삶과 결부시켜 그것의 본질을 분석하고 해석하는 통찰력이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

특수체육에서 질적 연구의 이론적 배경과 연구 질의 평가 (Qualitative Research: The Theory to the Practice in Adapted Physical Education)

  • 본 연구는 질적 연구를 시작하는 초보 연구자들을 위해 질적 연구의 기본적인 배경 학적 이론과 방법의 틀을 제시하고, 특수체육에서 질적 연구의 질을 평가하는 기준을 제시하는 데 있다. 첫째, 질적 연구의 기본이 되는 인식론의 이해를 설명하였다. 둘째, 질적 연구에서 가장 많이 활용되는 자료 수집 방법론을 제시하였다. 셋째, 질적 연구에서 자료 분석 방법과 타당성 확보의 근거를 제시하였다. 마지막으로, 특수체육 영역에서 활용되는 질적 연구 질의 평가 기준을 제시하였다. 국 내외 특수체육 분야에서 질적 연구의 숫자는 계속 늘어나고 있고 그 중요성 또한 계속 강조되고 있다. 질적 연구는 연구자들이 참여자들을 관찰, 이해, 분석 그리고 해석하는 과정을 요구하기 때문에 연구자의 역할은 대단히 중요하다. 따라서, 질적 연구를 처음 시작하는 연구자들은 질적 연구의 본질적인 이해와 연구 방법론의 습득이 요구된다. 또한, 지속적인 질적 연구의 질의 평가로 좀 더 깊이 있는 질적 연구의 결과물이 특수체육 분야에 적용돼야 할 것이다.

자연재난 피해자 경험에 대한 국내 질적 연구의 체계적 문헌고찰 (Systematic Review of Korean Qualitative Researches on the Experience of Natural Disaster Survivors)

  • Objectives: To analyze the reports of qualitative research about natural disasters in Korea. Methods: Nine published qualitative research studies were selected for the analysis. The selected reports were analyzed by Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ), a reporting guideline for qualitative research. In addition, each subject of the study was qualitatively synthesized. Results: In the quality assessment using COREQ, detailed information about the researchers were insufficient. The results of the studies were integrated into six themes: "Disaster experience", "Disaster damage", "Dealing with disasters", "Disaster compensation issues", "Arbitration Resources", and "Post-disaster change". Conclusions: In further qualitative research on natural disasters, it is necessary to report the research according to the COREQ checklist. Based on the results of this study, continuous attention and research are needed to explore the areas of Korean medicine care in the event of a disaster.

인적자원관리 연구를 위한 질적 접근방법의 고찰 (Qualitative Approach in Research on Human Resource Management)

  • 인적자원관리 (HRM)는 조직 내 구성원과 관련된 복잡한 현상과 인간관계의 다원성을 다룬다. 이러한 이유에서 정량적인 접근방법을 적용한 HRM의 연구에서는 분석의 대상과 영역이 필연적으로 제한적일 수 밖에 없다. 기업의 HRM이 포괄하는 다양한 영역 가운데 정성적인 영역이 기업의 성과와 경쟁우위를 실질적으로 좌우하는 경우가 많다. 그러나 기존의 정량적인 시각을 통한 접근은 HRM의 정성적인 측면을 등한시 해온 경향성을 보여주었다. 점차 복잡해지고 있는 HRM과 관련된 연구의 현실에서 정량적인 접근방법에 의한 연구방법은 본질적인 차원에서 그 한계를 배태하고 있다. 이러한 의미에서 본 연구는 HRM과 관련된 선행 연구를 바탕으로 질적인 방법을 적용하기 위한 주요 논점의 제시를 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 HRM 연구가 직면하고 있는 현실에서 정성적인 접근방법의 필요성을 강조하였다. 또한 HRM 연구의 다차원적인 발전을 위해 사례연구 방법의 적용을 제안함으로써 관련 연구 주제의 복잡성에 대응하고 심층적인 이해의 확대 가능성을 제시하였다.

가족연구를 위한 혼합방법론에 대한 고찰 (An Inquiry about Mixed Methodology for Family Studies)

  • The purposes of the present article are to suggest pragmatism as offering a philosophical paradigm for mixed methods research, to explain the fundamental principles of mixed methodology, and to present examples of research for understanding how to apply it to family studies. Mixed methods research is the class of research where the researcher mixes or combines quantitative and qualitative techniques, methods, approaches, concepts or language into a single study. Mixed methodology has its roots in pragmatism, which is a new philosophical paradigm to criticize the traditional dualism and to endorse eclecticism and pluralism. The present article argues that mixed methods research has the potential to answer a broader and more complete range of research questions, and to provide strong evidence for a conclusion through convergence and corroboration of the qualitative and the quantitative methods.

학문 목적 한국어교육의 연구 유형 분류와 연구 방법의 동향 분석 (A Classification of Research Types and Trend Analysis of Research Methods in Korean for Academic Purposes)

  • This study is a trend analysis study that discusses the current status and directions of research methods of KAP research. The existing trend ana lysis studies dealing with research methods have problems in that the classification criteria of the studies used are rough and different from each other, rendering comparison between studies being difficult, and do not comprehensively cover research methods of diversified KAP research. Therefore, this study examined the research methods of KAP research from a critical point of view and suggested a set of classification criteria and an analysis framework that can be used consistently in classification and analysis of future KAP research methods. Based on the theoretical background of second language studies and applied linguistics, this study revised and supplemented Brown (2015)'s research method types and selected 289 journals and theses/dissertations from 2012 to 2016 and classified them into a new analysis framework. The primary and secondary studies, which are the major categories, were 219 and 70, respectively, so it was confirmed that there were much more primary studies. The primary studies then were subdivided into 128 qualitative research studies, 142 survey research studies, and 23 quantitative research studies, pointing to the trend that survey and qualitative research methods were preferred. In the qualitative research approaches, there were 21 action research studies, which were used the most. In addition, such qualitative research approaches as case studies and narrative inquiries which were difficult to find in the past, have gradually increased, confirming that the diversification of research methods is becoming common. However, there were still many studies that did not explicitly put forward research questions and there were many studies that did not report reliability and effect sizes in quantitative research. Of the 23 quantitative studies, only 50% reported reliability, and only three reported effect sizes. In order to enable systematic reviews (meta-analysis) of quantitative research and expect quality improvement of research in future KAP research, reporting of quantitative research should be done more systematically. This study is meaningful in that a systematic and detailed analysis framework was proposed to classify various research methods in the future and that the problems and directions for improvement of the KAP research methods were discussed through the analysis of the research trend of the KAP studies for the last 5 years.

산후우울증과 관련된 질적 연구에 대한 보고 분석 (Report of the Qualitative Research Related to Postpartum Depression)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this paper is to help the development of qualitative research in the field of Korean medicine and policy support for postpartum depression. Methods: Qualitative studies related to postpartum depression retrieved from five databases were evaluated independently by two researchers using the integrated criterion, Consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative research (COREQ). In addition, each subject of study was qualitatively synthesized. Results: A total of 1,374 papers were searched and 13 papers were finally selected. The results of the study using COREQ lacked information about the researchers. The results of the study were integrated into three themes: "Feeling Failure", "Struggling for self-identity and role of mother" and "Seeing Help and Recovery". Conclusions: Postpartum depression can be accessed through various methods such as Korean medicine counseling, acupuncture and herbal medicine, and further research and manual preparation is required.
