This paper presents a new interpolation algorithm for measuring high resolution position information which is prepared to a nino servo control motor using analog quadrature encoder. In the past, there are large capacity of memory(ROM or RAM) and two high price and resolution A/D(Analog-to-Digital Converter) for sensing two quadrature signals from a analog sinusoidal encoder interpolation. But high resolution of position from sinusoidal encoder can be obtained by using only small capacity of memory, one A/D converter and comparator. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is useful for measuring high resolution position.

The simple PSK signal generation method using a quadrature hybrid coupler and reflection coefficient elements was analyzed in this paper. The PSK modulation signal with a constant constellation is generated by reflection coefficient from 90o hybrid coupler output ports, the high-mode PSK signal is also generated by the hybrid structure of coupler, delay line and power combiner. The BPSK signal is simply generated by a 90o hybrid coupler and reflection elements, and QPSK with 90o phase constellation is generated by additional delay line and power combiner. By simulation results, the generated PSK signals by the proposed circuit get good modulation spectra within 3o phase error.

Quadrature spatial modulation (QSM) utilizes the in-phase and quadrature spatial dimensions to transmit the real and imaginary parts, respectively, of a single signal symbol. Improved QSM (IQSM) builds upon QSM to increase the spectral efficiency by transmitting the real and imaginary parts of two signal symbols using antenna combinations of size of two. In this paper, we propose a double QSM (DQSM) scheme that transmits the real and imaginary parts of two signal symbols independently through any of the transmit antennas. The two signal symbols are drawn from two different constellations of the same size with the first symbol drawn from any of the conventional modulation sets while the second is drawn from an optimally rotated version of the first constellation. The optimum rotation angle is obtained through extensive Monte Carlo simulations to minimize the bit error rate (BER) of the system. Simulation results show that for a given spectral efficiency, DQSM performsrelatively close to IQSM while requiring a smaller number of transmit antennas, and outperformsIQSM by up to 2 dB when the same number of antennas are used.
Discretization errors are extremely challenging conundrums of discrete ordinates calculations for radiation transport problems with void regions. In previous work, we have presented a multi-collision source method (MCS) to overcome discretization errors, but the efficiency needs to be improved. This paper proposes a goal-oriented algorithm for the MCS method to adaptively determine the partitioning of the geometry and dynamically change the angular quadrature in remaining iterations. The importance factor based on the adjoint transport calculation obtains the response function to get a problem-dependent, goal-oriented spatial decomposition. The difference in the scalar fluxes from one high-order quadrature set to a lower one provides the error estimation as a driving force behind the dynamic quadrature. The goal-oriented algorithm allows optimizing by using ray-tracing technology or high-order quadrature sets in the first few iterations and arranging the integration order of the remaining iterations from high to low. The algorithm has been implemented in the 3D transport code ARES and was tested on the Kobayashi benchmarks. The numerical results show a reduction in computation time on these problems for the same desired level of accuracy as compared to the standard ARES code, and it has clear advantages over the traditional MCS method in solving radiation transport problems with reflective boundary conditions.
This paper describes an hp-angular adaptivity algorithm in the discrete ordinates method for Boltzmann transport applications with strong angular effects. This adaptivity uses discontinuous finite element quadrature sets with different degrees, which updates both angular mesh and the degree of the underlying discontinuous finite element basis functions, allowing different angular local refinement to be applied in space. The regular and goal-based error metrics are considered in this algorithm to locate some regions to be refined. A mapping algorithm derived by moment conservation is developed to pass the angular solution between spatial regions with different quadrature sets. The proposed method is applied to some test problems that demonstrate the ability of this hp-angular adaptivity to resolve complex fluxes with relatively few angular unknowns. Results illustrate that a reduction to approximately 1/50 in quadrature ordinates for a given accuracy compared with uniform angular discretization. This method therefore offers a highly efficient angular adaptivity for investigating difficult particle transport problems.

This paper describes an improved 2D QPS(quadrature polar separable) filter design and its applications to texture processing. The filter kernel pair consists of the product of a radial weighting function based on the finite PSS (prolate spheroidal sequences) and an exponential at tenuation function for the orientational angle. It is quadrature and polar separable in the frequency domain. It is near optimal in the energy loss because we let the orientational angle function approximate the radial weighting function. The filter frequency characteristics is easy to control as it depends only upon the design specifications such as the bandwidth, the directional angle, the attenuation constant, and the shift constant of the central frequency. Some applications of the filter in texture processing, such as the generation of the texture image, the estimation of orientation angles, and the segmentations for the synthetic texture image, are considered. The result shows that the filter with the wide bandwidth can be used for the generation of discrimination of the strong orientational textures and the segmentation results are good.

Enhanced bandwidths of the GPS microstrip patch antennas applied by a Wilkinson power divider and a quadrature hybrid were compared. The square patch was designed, and fed by the two port probes for the circuit application. The Wilkinson power divider and quadrature hybrid circuit were designed, and applied to the patch antenna. The designed patch and two circuits were implemented on the FR4 board, and combined together. The measurement of the bandwidth within a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 2: 1 were 36.5% (1,200~1,775 MHz) in the case of the Wilkinson power divider and 29.84% (1,230~1,700 MHz) in the case of the quadrature hybrid. Axial ratios (AR) in 3dB were 17.14% bandwidth (1,360~1,630 MHz) and 15.87% bandwidth (1,400~1,650 MHz), respectively. The application of the Wilkinson power divider is wider than that of the quadrature hybrid. The peak gains in the anechoic chamber at the GPS center frequency were measured as 2.84 dBi and 2.75 dBi, respectively.

In this paper, two ports feeding a microstrip patch antenna using a quadrature hybrid circuit was proposed to enhance the bandwidth for the global positioning system(GPS). The square patch was designed, and the probe feeding was applied. The quadrature hybrid chip circuit for two-port feeding was designed, and output ports that have a 90-degree phase difference feed to the patch antenna. The designed patch and quadrature hybrid circuit were implemented on an FR4 board, and were combined. The measurement of the bandwidth within a voltage standing wave ratio(VSWR) of 2: 1 and axial ratio(AR) in 3dB were 29 %BW(1,230~1,700 MHz) and 15.87 %BW(1,400~1,650 MHz), respectively. The peak gain at the GPS center frequency was measured at 2.75 dBi in an anechoic chamber.
This paper describes the effect of multiple signal regeneration in quadrature digital radio frequency memory(DRFM). Single channel DRFM have good reproducibility after storing a single signal. However, when reproduced after storing multiple signals, the spurious signal is large. The quadrature DRFM consists of I and Q channels, which can greatly reduce the spurious signal. The amplitude of the spurious signal depends on the number of bits of data stored in the DRFM. In this paper, we have obtained the number of bits of signal regeneration according to the application of radio frequency memory by obtaining the size of the spurious signal according to the number of bits of the stored data of the DRFM for multiple signals. As a result of this study, 4 bits quadrature DRFM can achieve a spurious output of less than -20dB, which is used for 4 signals. Those are expected to greatly contribute to the signal analysis of electronic warfare equipment and the development of jamming device.
In a wireless communication RF transmitter, the output of a quadrature modulator (QM) is distorted by not only the linear imperfection features such as in/quadrature-phase (I/Q) input gain imbalance, local phase imbalance, and local gain imbalance but also the nonlinear imperfection features such as direct current (DC) offset and mixer nonlinearity related to in-band spurious signal. In this paper, we propose the unified QM model to analyze the combined effects of the linear and nonlinear imperfection features on the performance of the QM. The unified QM model consists of two identical nonlinear systems and modified I/Q inputs based on the two-port nonlinear mixer model. The unified QM model shows that the output signals can be expressed by mixer circuit parameters such as intercept point and gain as well as the imperfection features. The proposed approach is validated by not only simulation but also measurement.
