Pyroelectric Infrared Sensors using (Pb,La)TiO3/LiTaO3/(Pb,La)TiO3 Multilayer Ferroelectric Thin Films ((Pb,La)TiO3/LiTaO3/(Pb,La)TiO3 다층 강유전 박막을 이용한 초전형 적외선 센서)

  • For fabrication of the pyroelectric IR sensor $(Pb,La)TiO_3(PLT)$/$LiTaO_3$/(LTO)/PLT ferroelectric thin films was deposited by rf magnetron sputtering followed by rapid thermal annealing and the crystallinity as a function of annealing temperature and time was investigated. Permittivity and dielectric loss factor of ferroelectric thin films as a function of c-axis preffered orientation was measured. Also pyroelectric coefficient of ferroelectric thin films with largest c-axis preffered orientation was measured and obtain figure of merit of voltage response($F_V$) and detectivity($F_D$). In this case $F_V$, $F_D$ was $5.63{\times}10^{-10}\;C{\cdot}cm/J$, $1.98{\times}10^{-8}\;C{\cdot}cm/J$, respectively.

  • Pyoelectric infrared detectors based on La-modified PbTiO3 (PLT) thin films have been fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering and micromachining technology. The detectors form Pb$_{1-x}$ La$_{x}$Ti$_{1-x}$ O$_{3}$ (x=0.05) thin film ferroelectric capacitors epitaxially grown by RF magnetron sputtering on Pt/MgO (100) substrate. The sputtered PLT thin film exhibits highly c-axis oriented crystal struture that no poling trealization for sensing applications is required. This is an essential factor to increase the yield for realization of an infrared image sensor. Micromachining technology is used to lower the thermal mass of the detector by giving maximum sensor efficiency. Polyimide is coated on top of the sensing elements to support the fragile structure and the backside of the MgO substrate is selectively eteched to reduce the heat loss. The sensing element exhibited a very high detectivity D* of 8.5*10$^{8}$ cm..root.Hz/W at room temperature and it is about 100 times higher than the case of micromachining technology is not used. a sensing system that detects the position as well as the existence of a human body is realized using the array sensor.sor.

  • We have developed a noncontact temperature sensor using a silver halide optical fiber. The infrared collimator and focus head are connected both ends of a silver halide optical fiber with SMA connectors and used to collimate radiations of a heat source and to focus them to infrared sensors such as a pyroelectric sensor and a thermopile sensor, respectively. The relation ships between the temperatures of a heat source and the output signals of the infrared sensors are determined to measure the surface temperature of a heat source. The measurable temperature range is from 25 to $60^{\circ}C$. It is expected that a noncontact temperature sensor using a silver halide optical fiber can be developed for medical usages such as temperature monitoring during hyperthermia, cryosurgery, laser surgery and diagnostic procedure based on the results of this study.

  • 0.10Pb(Sb$_{1}$2/Sn$_{1}$2/)O$_{3}$-0.25PbTiO$_{3}$-0.65PbZrO$_{3}$ 세라믹을 소결온도 및 시간을 각각 1200-1250[.deg.C]에서 2, 4, 6시간으로 변화시켜 제작하였으며 시편의 소결조건 및 MnO$_{2}$(0~0.30mol%)첨가량에 따른 잡음특성을 관찰하였다. 초전계수 및 전압감도는 1250[.deg.C]에서 2시간 소결시킨 시편에서 각각 3.49x$10^{-8}$[C/$cm^{2}$K], 147[V/W]의 최대값을 나타내었다. 초전형 적외선 검출기의 잡음특성에 있어 증폭기의 전류잡음 .DELTA.V$_{i}$가 총 잡음전압에 대해 지배적인 경향을 나타내었으며 MnO$_{2}$가 0.24[mol%] 첨가된 1250[.deg.C]에서 2시간 소결시킨 시편에서 가장 양호한 pop-corn잡음특성을 나타내었다.다.

  • Si₃N₄/SiO₂/Si₃N₄ 멤브레인에 의해 실리콘 기판으로부터 열차단된 비냉각 초전형 박막 (Ba,Sr)TiO₃ 적외선 검지기를 제작하고, 적외선 검지기의 특성을 논의하였다. 25℃의 공기중에서 쵸핑주파수가 1 ㎐일 때 적외선 검지기는 약 168.8 V/W의 비교적 높은 전압 감응도를 나타내었으나, 매우 작은 신호대잡음비 때문에 약 2.6×10⁴㎝·㎐/sup 1/2//W의 낮은 비검지도를 나타내었다. 또한 출력파형의 쵸핑주파수 및 온도 의존성에 대한 정성적인 해석으로부터 적외선 검지기의 열잡음전압 및 열시정수가 모두 상당히 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we propose a sensor-based LED lighting system that can significantly reduce standby powers. The proposed LED lighting system has the more advanced power circuit and control mechanism compared to existing one. The whole power circuit consists of two subcircuits. One is designed to apply electric powers to controller, PIR(Pyroelectric Infrared Ray) sensor and CdS, and the other one is designed to apply electric powers to LED module. Such a power circuit configuration makes the standby powers reduction of LED lighting system possible. From the experimental results, we confirmed that the standby powers saving performance of the developed power circuit is superior to that of the conventional one.

  • 본 논문에서는 에너지 절감을 위하여 POWER LED 구동회로를 PIR(Pyroelectric Infrared Ray) 센서를 이용하여 ON/OFF 제어를 하였다. POWER LED의 전류 특성을 설명하였으며 설명된 전류 특성을 개선하고자 정전류 유지 회로를 구성하였다. 그리고 인체 감지 센서에서 발생되는 ON/OFF 신호를 증폭시키는 구동 회로를 설계하여 정전류 유지 회로에 직접 결합하는 방식을 제안하였다. 실험한 결과는 POWER LED의 ON 상태시 4Watt, OFF 상태시 0.5Watt를 소비하였으며, 정전류 유지 회로에 의해 POWER LED 구동 전류의 리플이 줄어들어 안정적인 동작을 하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • In order to investigate the mechanism of pyroelectricity on polyvinylidene fluoride film, the observations were carried out on the characteristics of infrared spectra, thermally stimulated current and pyroelectric current. As the results obtained from the study, it was concluded that the origin for thermally stimulated current exhibited above room temperature can be attributed to hole injected from anode during poling process. Futhermore it is clarified also that the origin of pyroelectricity observed on the specimen concerned is to spontaneous polarization of CF dipole attached to molecular chain segment, however, the fraction of spontaneous polarization is largely influenced by the amount of hole injected from anode.

  • 광응용 분야는 광학, 전기, 전자 기술의 진보에 따라 괄목할만한 발전을 하고 있으며 그 응용폭 또한 넓다고 할 수 있겠다. 적외선 센서의 응용은 산업, 의학, 군사, 가전제품, 통신, 방재 등 다양하며 이 응용 분야 확대에 따라 센서의 고성능화 가격의 저렴화가 요구되므로 각분야에서 이른바 Intelligent화로의 연구가 활발한 실정이며 적외선 센서의 한 종류인 초전형 적외선 센서는 유전체에 조사되는 적외선에 의해 표면 전하가 변화하는 초전효과를 이용한 센서로서 이를 사용한 제품으로는 Human Detecting을 하는 Light control, Home Automation, 도난 경보기가 있으며, 화재 경보기, 가정용 조리기구, 비접촉식 온도계 등에도 사용되고 있다. 본 고에서는 광분야 중에서도 적외선 센서의 종류와 당사에서 개발하여 상품화시킨 초전형 적외선 센서에 대한 기술적인 개요와 응용분야를 기술하고자 한다.

  • If an appliance perceives the location or health condition of a resident in the smart home, it can provide more intelligent service actively. That is, while the conventional appliance is operated by manual input of a resident, the location-based human adaptive appliance detects the resident's information such as location, activity pattern, or health condition by itself and provides the most suitable living condition for the resident autonomously. This paper presents the real-time location-based metabolic rate estimation method that measures the amount of physical activity (metabolic rate) for location-based human adaptive air-conditioner. And, the feasibility of the algorithm is evaluated experimentally on a test bed using the pyroelectric infrared sensor-based indoor location aware system (PILAS) that is a non-terminal-based location-aware system.
