Laser ablation ion trap mass spectrometry (LAITMS) was developed for the analysis of metal and ceramic samples. For this study, XeCl excimer laser (308 nm) was used for ablating the samples and ITMS was used as a detector. Samples were introduced from outside of a ring electrode and this way of sample introduction was very effective for solid samples when laser ablation was employed. Helium gas was used as a buffer gas, and its effect on sensitivity and some parameters (buffer gas pressure, ion storage time, and cut-off RF voltage) were studied. The optimized conditions were $1{\times}10^{-4}$ Torr of buffer gas pressure, 100 ms of ion storage time and $1150V_{p-p}$ of cut-off RF voltage. From that results, copper (Cu) and molybdenum (Mo) metals were tested with LAITMS and the mass spectra of these pure metals were compared with the natural abundance of isotope ratio. We also examined ceramic samples ($Al_2O_3$, $ZrO_2$) and represented the result of elemental analysis.
The retention behaviors of polystyrenes influenced by mixed solvents are examined in thermal field-flow fractionation(ThFFF). Experimental data are obtained with polystyrene samples of molecular weights of 35,000, 110,000, 200,000 and 470,000 dissolved in organic solvents. The pure and mixed solvents are tetrahydrofuran(THF), chloroform(CHL), cyclohexane(CH), and benzene(BZ), respectively. The values of retention ratio(R) and thermal diffusion coefficient($D_T$) are measured with change of molecular weight and composition of mixed solvents. Atempts are then made to correlate the measured values with various physicochemical parameters of polymers and solvents. Studies suggest that R is significantly increased with the density of solvent and a good correlation is found between them. $D_T$ values decreases in the mixed solvent having has a higher concentration of poor solvent.
Korean health care system introduced the reform for separation between prescribing and dispensing of drugs (SPD reform) in the latter part of the year 2000. The objective of this paper is to look at what change this reform has brought about in the financial situation of Korean public health insurance scheme, particularly in terms of insurance benefit outlay. Since the inception of the reform is a development of more than five years ago, its impact on the finance situation would now start to become apparent. Hypothesis is set in this study for each of three components of drug reimbursement in health insurance, i.e. average price level, composition of drugs and their overall volume. In terms of the classification of health care services by mode of production, the impact of the SPD reform is confined mainly to the last two among three drug reimbursement fields including inpatient department, out-patient department and pharmacy. Pure impact of the SPD reform was estimated to be more or less than 1.7 trillion won, 13.1% of the total outlay of the Nation Health Insurance in 2001, and more than 2.0 trillion won, 14.9% of the total outlay of the Nation Health Insurance in 2003. Both dispensing fees for the pharmacists, which had been newly introduced on occasion of the SPD reform, and larger share of expensive drugs in the medicines prescribed by doctors were confirmed to be main drivers of the augmentation of drug reimbursement.

A comprehensive genome profiling study was undertaken based on automated genotyping and analysis of 20 microsatellite markers that involved 155 birds representing eight different populations. The distribution of microsatellite markers in each of these breeds helped us to decipher genetic heterogeneity, population genetic structure and evolutionary relationships of the present day chicken populations in India. All the microsatellite loci utilized for the analysis were polymorphic and reasonably informative. A total of 285 alleles were documented at 20 loci with a mean of 14.25 alleles/locus. A total of 103 alleles were found to be population/strain specific of which, only 30 per cent had a frequency of more than 10. The mean PIC values ranged from 0.39 for the locus ADL158 to 0.71 for loci MCW005 or ADL267 across the genomes and 0.55 in Dahlem Red to 0.71 in Desi (non-descript), among the populations. The overall mean expected and observed heterozygosity estimates for our populations were 0.68 and 0.64, respectively. The overall mean inbreeding coefficients (FIS) varied between -0.05 (Babcock) and 0.16 (Rhode Island Red). The pairwise FST estimates ranged from 0.06 between Aseel and Desi (non-descript) to 0.14 between Dahlem Red and Babcock. The Nei's genetic distance varied from 0.30 (WLH-IWD and WLH-IWF) to 0.80 (Dahlem Red and Babcock. Phylogenetic analysis grouped all the populations into two main clusters, representing i) the pure breeds, Dahlem Red and Rhode Island Red, and ii) the remaining six populations/strains. All the chicken populations studied were in the state of mild to moderate inbreeding except for commercial birds. A planned breeding is advised for purebreds to revive their genetic potential. High genetic diversity exists in Desi (non-descript), local birds, which can be exploited to genetically improve the birds suitable for backyard poultry.
Simultaneous analytical method has developed for the determination of anion biocides in soil by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Chlorite and chlorate in soil were extracted with pure water, and cyanuric acid and sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (Na-DBS) were extracted with mobile phase (0.25 mM ammonium formate in 20 mM formic acid : acetonitrile (1:1)). The extract was injected into the LC-MS/MS system after filtration. The method detection limits in this study were 0.04 mg/kg for chlorite, 0.04 mg/kg for chlorate, 0.27 mg/kg for cyanuric acid, and 0.05 mg/kg for Na-DBS, respectively. The method was applied to the analysis of 50 soil samples collected from 40 sites sprayed with biocides and 10 background sites. As a result, anion biocides were not detected in all sites.
Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) powder was treated with aqueous sodium hydroxide to obtain partially defluorinated fluoropolymers with expected properties such as improving hydrophilicity and fouling resistance. Raman spectrum and FT-IR results confirmed the existence of conjugated carbon double bonds after alkaline treatment. As the concentration increased, the degree of defluorination increased. The morphology and structure of membranes were examined. The permeation performance was investigated. The results showed that membrane's hydrophilicity increased with increase of the percentage of alkaline treated PVDF powder. Moreover, in terms of the water contact angle, it decreased from $92^{\circ}$ to a minimum of $68^{\circ}$; while water up take increased from 128 to 138%. Fluxof pure water and the cleaning efficiency increased with the increase of alkaline treated PVDF powder. The fouling potential also decreased with the increase of the percentage of alkaline treated PVDF powder. The reason that makes blending PVDF show different characteristics because of partial defluorination, which led the formation of conjugated C = C bonds and the inclusion of oxygen functionalities. The polyene structure followed by hydroxide attack to yield hydroxyl and carbonyl groups. Therefore, the hydrophilicity of blending membrane was improved. The SEM and porosity measurements showed that no obvious variations of the pore dimensions and structures for blend membranes were observed. Mechanical tests suggest that the high content of the alkaline treated PVDF result in membranes with less tolerance of tensile stress and higher brittleness. TGA results exhibited that the blend of alkaline treated PVDF did not change membrane thermal stability.

- A car is a means of transporting passengers or cargo on the ground by transmitting power from the engine to the wheels. In the past, automobiles started from internal combustion engines have recently been introduced with hybrid electric vehicles and pure electric vehicles. As a result, the deployment of high-tech electrical and electronic products is inevitably increased due to the development of technology and stability of various parts, resulting in a more complicated and diversified electromagnetic environment. CISPR 25 is conducting research on the test method for electromagnetic noise. In order to analyze the noise pattern according to the GND condition required in the radiation emission test, various conditions are applied for comparison. 2 Page - General characteristics of EMI chambers, techniques for testing and measuring equipmen 3 Page - RE test : Analysis of Noise due to Ground Strap Change when Sample is in Center, Analysis of Noise due to Ground Strap Changes when the Sample is not in the Center.
Cobalt titanates($CoTiO_x$), such as $CoTiO_3$ and $Co_2TiO_4$, have been synthesized via a solid-state reaction and characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic(XPS) measurement techniques, prior to being used for continuous wet trichloroethylene(TCE) oxidation at $36^{\circ}C$, to support our earlier chemical structure model for Co species in 5 wt% $CoO_x/TiO_2$(fresh) and(spent) catalysts. Each XRD pattern for the synthesized $CoTiO_3$ and $Co_2TiO_4$ was very close to those obtained from the respective standard XRD data files. The two $CoTiO_x$ samples gave Co 2p XPS spectra consisting of very strong main peaks for Co $2p_{3/2}$ and $2p_{1/2}$ with corresponding satellite structures at higher binding energies. The Co $2p_{3/2}$ main structure appeared at 781.3 eV for the $CoTiO_3$, and it was indicated at 781.1 eV with the $Co_2TiO_4$. Not only could these binding energy values be very similar to that exhibited for the 5 wt% $CoO_x/TiO_2$(fresh), but the spin-orbit splitting(${\Delta}E$) had also no noticeable difference between the cobalt titanates and a sample of the fresh catalyst. Neither of all the $CoTiO_x$ samples were active for the wet TCE oxidation, as expected, but a sample of pure $Co_3O_4$ had a good activity for this reaction. The earlier proposed model for the surface $CoO_x$ species existing with the fresh and spent catalysts is very consistent with the XPS characterization and activity measurements for the cobalt titanates.

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are composed of moving wireless hosts which, within range of each other, form wireless networks. For communication to occur between hosts that are not within each other's range, routes involving intermediate nodes must be established; however, since the hosts may be in motion, a host that was part of a route may move away from its upstream and downstream partners, thus breaking the route. In this paper, we propose anticipated route maintenance (ARM) protocol with two extensions to route discovery based routing scheme: Extend the route when nodes on a link move apart from each other and they have common neighbor that can be 'inserted' in the path, and shrink route when a node discovers that one of its neighbor which is not the next hop is also on the same route several hops later on. By utilizing only local geographic information (now a part of some route finding algorithms), a host can anticipate its neighbor's departure and, if other hosts are available, choose a host to bridge the gap, keeping the path connected. We present a distributed algorithm that anticipates route failure and performs preventative route maintenance using location information to increase a route lifespan. The benefits are that this reduces the need to find new routes (which is very expensive) and prevents interruptions in service. As the density of nodes increases, the chance to successfully utilize our route maintenance approach increases, and so does the savings. We have compared the performance of two protocols, pure dynamic source routing (DSR) protocol and DSR with ARM. The simulation results show how ARM improves the functionality of DSR by preventing the links in the route from breaking. Packets delivery ratio could be increased using ARM and achieved approximately $\100%$ improvement. The simulations clarify also how ARM shows a noticeable improvement in dropped packets and links stability over DSR, even though there is more traffic and channel overhead in ARM.
Natural disasters often lead to regional failures that can cause network nodes and links co-located in a large geographical area to fail. Novel approaches are required to assess the network vulnerability under such regional failures. In this paper, we investigate the vulnerability of networks by considering the geometric properties of regional failures and network nodes. To evaluate the criticality of node locations and determine the critical areas in a network, we propose the concept of ${\alpha}$-critical-distance with a given failure impact ratio ${\alpha}$, and we formulate two optimization problems based on the concept. By analyzing the geometric properties of the problems, we show that although finding critical nodes or links in a pure graph is a NP-complete problem, the problem of finding critical areas has polynomial time complexity. We propose two algorithms to deal with these problems and analyze their time complexities. Using real city-level Internet topology data, we conducted experiments to compute the ${\alpha}$-critical-distances for different networks. The computational results demonstrate the differences in vulnerability of different networks. The results also indicate that the critical area of a network can be estimated by limiting failure centers on the locations of network nodes. Additionally, we find that with the same impact ratio ${\alpha}$, the topologies examined have larger ${\alpha}$-critical-distances when the network performance is measured using the giant component size instead of the other two metrics. Similar results are obtained when the network performance is measured using the average two terminal reliability and the network efficiency, although computation of the former entails less time complexity than that of the latter.
