2차원 비정상유동 해석을 위한 1-방정식 방법 (An one equation method for two dimensional unsteady flows)

  • 본 연구에서는 3차원, 비압축성 유동에 적용 가능한 순수 벡터 포텐셜 방법 (Pure Vector Potential Method, PVPM for short)의 정식화를 수행하였고, 2차원의 경우에 적용 가능한 수치적 방법과 경계조건의 부여법을 상세히 설명하였다. 이 방법의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 급작스럽게 출발하는 벽구동 웅덩이 내부 유동과 엄밀해가 존재하는 Stokes의 제 1문제를 수치해석하였다. 계산 결과들은 이 두 유동의 중요한 거동을 매우 잘 묘사하였다.

  • opiate receptor들의 중추신경계에서의 분포 및 작용에 관한 실험물은 널리 알려져 있어 그 웅용 방법도 많이 있으나, 말초에 있는 opiate receptor의 존재 및 약물작용을 관찰하는 실험은 별로 알려진 것은 없다. 저자는 214mM의 sucrose 용역을 이용하여 전기적 자극에 따른 말초신경 및 말초조직(근육)에서의 opiate receptor애 대한 작용을 관찰하였다. 실험은 3분류의 약물을 이용하였다. 1) Pure agonists: morphine, meperidine, methadone, 2) Agonist-antagonist: buprenorphine 3) Pure antagonist: naloxone 위의 약물들을 이용하여 excitable cell membrane(좌골신경 및 근육)에서 일어나는 potential의 변화를 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. a. pure agonists들은 좌골신경 및 근육절편에서 action potentials을 의의있게 억제시켰으며 meperidine이 가장 강한 작용을 보였다. b. 이들의 작용은 naloxone 투여로 억제되었다. c. Agonist-antagonist인 buprenorphine은 투여용량 및 동시 투여한 pure agonist의 종류에 따라 biphasic pattern을 나타내었다. d. opiates 작용기전 및 약물작용장소를 알고자 두 종류, 즉 single 및 double technique을 사용하여 비교하였다.

Preparation of enantiomerically pure (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate

  • Enantiomerically pure hydroxycarboxylic acids have great potential as chiral building blocks in fine chemicals due to their easily modificable two functional groups. Microbial polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) can have more than one hundred of hydroxycarboxylic acids as monomeric constituents by growing cells under various conditions. All of the monomeric constituents are enantiomerically pure in (R)-conformation if there is a chiral center. Therefore, efficient production of enantiomerically pure hydroxycarboxylic acids by degrading PHAs is possible. In this presentation, we report on the development of a novel method for the preparation of (R)-hydroxybutyric acid by in vivo depolymerization of Polyhydroxybutyrae.

Quantitative estimation of reversibility of the discharge process undergone by nickel hydroxide film cathodically deposited on pure nickel as a positive supercapacitor electrode using cyclic voltammetry and potential drop method

  • This work presents the way how to evaluate the degree of reversibility of the discharging process undergone by the nickel hydroxide film cathodically deposited on pure nickel as a positive electrode for electrochemical capacitor using the combined cyclic voltammetry and potential drop method, supplemented by galvanostatic discharge and open-circuit potential transient methods. The time interval necessary just to establish the current reversal of anodic to cathodic direction from the moment just after applying the potential inversion of anodic to cathodic direction, was obtained on cyclic voltammogram. The cathodic charge density passed upon dropping the applied potential, was calculated on potentiostatic current density-time curve. Both the time interval and the cathodic charge density in magnitude can be regarded as being measures of the degree of reversibility of the discharging process undergone by the positive active material for supercapacitor, i.e. , the longer the time interval is, the lower is the degree of reversibility and the greater the cathodic charge density is, the higher is the degree of reversibility. From the applied potential dependences of the time interval and cathodic charge density, discharge at $0.42 V_{SCE}$ was determined to be the most reversible.

식염수에서 내식성 성능에 대한 Al 와이어의 5%Mg 합금 효과 (Effect of 5%Mg alloying in Al wire on corrosion resistance performance in saline solution)

  • The presence of chloride (Cl-) ions in environments causes localized corrosion resulting decrease the durability of the structures. In this study, 5% Mg containing Al alloys (Al-5Mg) wire used vis-à-vis compared its corrosion resistance with pure Al in 3.5wt.% NaCl solution with exposure periods. Initially both wires exhibited identical open circuit potential (OCP) attributed to the presence of native oxide film on the surface but with the exposure periods it shifted towards active direction owing to the dissolution of oxide film. The pure Al continuously shifted the OCP towards active direction while Al-5Mg shows stabilization of OCP after 8 days of exposure. The OCP of Al-5Mg is slightly higher compared to pure Al wire owing to the activeness of Mg. The total impedance of the Al-5Mg alloy is almost three times greater than pure Al with exposure periods in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. It might be formation of Al-Mg LDH (layered double hydroxide) thin film onto the surface.

비홀로노믹 이동로봇의 자율주행을 위한 기하학적 경로 추종 및 장애물 회피 방법 (Geometric Path Tracking and Obstacle Avoidance Methods for an Autonomous Navigation of Nonholonomic Mobile Robot)

  • This paper presents a method that integrates the geometric path tracking and the obstacle avoidance for nonholonomic mobile robot. The mobile robot follows the path by moving through the turning radius given from the pure pursuit method which is the one of the geometric path tracking methods. And the obstacle generates the obstacle potential, from this potential, the virtual force is obtained. Therefore, the turning radius for avoiding the obstacle is calculated by proportional to the virtual force. By integrating the turning radius for avoiding the obstacle and the turning radius for following the path, the mobile robot follows the path and avoids the obstacle simultaneously. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through the real experiments for path tracking only, static obstacle avoidance, dynamic obstacle avoidance.

The Oxygen Potential of Urania Nuclear Fuel During Irradiation

  • A defect model for UO$_2$ fuel containing soluble fission products was devised based on the defect structure of pure and doped uranias. Using the equilibrium between fuel solid-solution and fission-products and the material balance within the fuel, a tracing method to get the stoichiometry change of urania fuel with burnup was made. This tracing method was applied to high burnup urania fuel and DUPIC fuel. The oxygen potential of urania fuel turned out to increase slightly with burnup. The stoichiometry change was calculated to be negligible due to the buffering role f Mo. The oxygen potential of DUPIC fuel out to be sensitive to the initial chemical state of Mo in the fuel.

  • This study investigated the modeling of dissolution Diesel to estimate the behavior of contaminants in the ground. The modeling based on the initial concentration change considering dissolution potential of pure Diesel and Xylene was performed using VISUAL MODFLOW, and was compared with general modeling ignored the initial concentration change condition.

Biocides Effect on the Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion of Pure Copper by Desulfovibrio sp.

  • The aims of this study were to determine the corrosion behavior of pure copper in the presence of Desulfovibrio sp. and also to investigate the effects of glutaraldehyde (GD) and isothiazolinone (ISO) on the corrosion behavior of pure copper in the presence of this sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) strain by using electrochemical techniques. Electrochemical measurements of pure copper were carried out at specified time intervals (0, 8, 24, 48, and 96 hr) over a period of exposure. Corrosion rates of pure copper from anodic and cathodic Tafel slopes and corrosion potential ($E_{corr}$) were determined. Biofilm and corrosion products on the copper surfaces were observed by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometry (EDS) analyses. The effects of solution types (PC (Postgate's C medium) and SRB (Desulfovibrio sp.)) and exposure times of copper and biocides (ISO or GD) on the corrosion rates of pure copper were evaluated by statistical analyses. As a result of the FESEM analysis, biofilm formation was observed on the surfaces of pure copper exposed to the Desulfovibrio sp. cultures both with and without the biocides. The results show that the pure copper was corroded by Desulfovibrio sp. However, the addition of GD or ISO to the Desulfovibrio sp. culture resulted in a decrease in the corrosion rate of the pure copper. It was also observed that both of the biocides showed a similar effect on pure copper's corrosion rate caused by Desulfovibrio sp.

The Pitting Inhibition of Fe-Cu Alloy in Weakly Alkaline Solution under Wet-Dry Condition

  • Pure iron, Fe-0.4, and 1.2 wt.%Cu alloys were examined by conducting the electrochemical techniques in the weakly alkaline solution, pH9, controlled by $Ca(OH)_2$, solution added with 0.02M NaCl. The $R_P$ measured from ac impedance, selected 10 kHz and 10mHz, in weakly alkaline solutions containing chloride ions indicated that the addition of copper up to 1.2wt.% into the pure iron significantly improved the pitting resistance of iron. In contrast to alloy, the pure iron showed the rapid pitting occurrences in drying period. During the drying period, the corrosion potential of pure iron was shifted to less noble value, pitting initiation.
