The Relationship between Clothing Attitudes and Clothing Purchasing Motives (의복태도와 의복구매동기의 관계에 대한 연구)

  • The purposed of this study was to investigate the dimensions of clothing purchasing motives and to examine differences of these dimensions according to the demographic variables, and to examine the relationship between the clothing attitudes and clothing purchasing motives. The subjects selected for the final analysis were 595 adults rainging from 20's to 40's in age. As for the analytic method. Cronbach's $\alpha$, factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, Tukey's multiple range test, frequency and percentage were applied. The conclusions of this study were as follows: 1. The clothing purchasing motive was classified into five dimensions: advertising and promotion, finding of clothing meeting one's own taste, extra income, practical purchasing needs and impulse purchase. And the dimensions of clothing purchasing motive were significantly different according to monthly expenditure on clothing, sex and educational level. 2. The relationship between the clothing attitudes dimensions and clothing purchasing motive dimensions were significant.

Consumers' Purchasing Intentions of Organic Foods in relation to the Perceived Health Concerns, Healthy Eating Practices and Attitudes, and Food Choice Motives (소비자의 건강염려, 건강지향적인 식습관 및 태도, 식품선택 동기가 유기식품의 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the correlations of five constructs - health concerns, healthy eating practices and attitudes, food choice motives, attitudes toward organic foods - in the formation of behavioral to the purchasing intentions of organic foods. An instrument encompassing health perception, attitudes, habits and personal traits was developed through the comprehensive reviews of the literature and the assured validity and internal reliability of the contents. The questionnaire was administered to the students of three universities at Daegu, Kyungpook province. A total of 288 questionnaires were collected for a response rate of 96.0%. The correlations of five constructs and purchasing intention were tested simultaneously using structural equation modeling. Healthy eating practices and attitudes toward organic foods were found to be the determinants which directly influence the intention to purchase organic foods. Health concerns didn't show direct relation to the purchasing intention of organic foods. The hypothesized path from the health concerns to the purchasing intentions was not supported. The results indicated that food choice motives and healthy eating attitudes should be managed to achieve higher behavioral intention to purchase organic foods.

  • As the social value gradually increases, the company's social responsibilities are granted and there are a growing number of requirements for a public value to economic value for the company. The cause marketing which has become widely known, it allows us to realize these values and in dictionary meaning, enterprises justification combines with marketing strategically, and is also illustrated as 'Cause Related Marketing.' For specific action plan, it is a marketing by connecting the selling of the product and donation to work out together to improve environment, public health, and poverty. This study examines how the cause marketing impact on the consumer's purchasing behaviour and purchasing intention and to find out whether there is an interrelationship. As a result, it turned out that cause marketing effect on purchasing attitudes and also the purchasing behaviour impact on the purchasing intention. Furthermore, the cause marketing influence on purchasing intention. As the idea of consumption gradually changes from the product consumption to value-based consumption as the time flows, the result of this research drew out the meaningful contents.

The Effects of Consumer-Brand Relationship on Purchasing Attitudes Toward Counterfeits (패션 명품 소비자-브랜드 관계가 복제품 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of consumer-brand relationship on purchasing attitudes toward counterfeits. 341 female college students who had purchased fashion luxury brand products were surveyed. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, pearson's correlations, ANOVA, and multiple regression were used. As the results, consumer-brand relationship was classified into three factors; commitment relationship, trust relationship, and emotion relationship. Also, higher consumer-brand relationship was correlated with higher preference and satisfaction, and lower purchasing attitudes toward counterfeits. Also, among the three groups(heavy/middle/low) of consumer-brand relationship, the heavy group had higher preference and satisfaction, and lower purchasing attitudes toward counterfeits. Also, results revealed that 'commitment relationship' and 'emotional relationship' accounted for 32% of the explained variance in 'favorableness', while 'trust relationship' and 'emotional relationship' accounted for 26% and 29% of the explained variance in 'trust toward product quality'. Based on these results, fashion luxury brand marketing strategy would be suggested.

Comparative Analysis of Consumer Attitudes and Ethical Purchasing Behavior on RUR Knitted Fashion Products According to Environmental Consciousnessof Female Consumers in Their 30s and 40s (30~40대 여성 소비자의 환경의식에 따른 RUR 니트 패션 제품에 대한 소비자 태도, 윤리적 구매 행동 비교 분석)

  • This study examined how middle-aged female consumers' environmental consciousness influences their attitudes and ethical purchasing behavior toward RUR (recycling, upcycling, and reuse) knit products. The research employs a survey method, targeting 30-40 year old women residing in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do Province. On-line and off-line data collection were conducted. The following conclusions emerged through statistical analyses, including factor analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, and regression analysis. Firstly, respondents' environmental consciousness variables were classified into two factors, delineating high and low environmental consciousness clusters, demonstrating significant differences between them. Secondly, the high environmental consciousness cluster exhibited more positive consumer attitudes and ethical purchasing behavior towards RUR knit products. Moreover, it was established that environmental pollution consciousness and eco-friendly product purchase consciousness influenced environmental consciousness on consumer attitudes and ethical purchasing behavior. Lastly, the study confirmed that consumer attitudes mediated environmental consciousness and ethical purchasing behavior. In conclusion, this research establishes a meaningful link between environmental consciousness, consumer attitudes, and ethical purchasing behavior in 30-40 year old women. Environmentally conscious groups positively influence attitudes toward RUR knitted fashion and promote ethical purchasing behavior. Consequently, it is recommended that knit fashion companies prioritize environmental consciousness and eco-friendly products in their marketing strategies. Furthermore, diversifying the application of RUR knit products, coupled with eco-friendly production techniques, can amplify their appeal and utility, ensuring a positive impact on consumer behavior.

Adolescent Consumers' Attitudes toward TV Advertisements on and Purchasing Behaviors of the Sport Beverages (청소년 소비자의 스포츠 음료에 대한 TV 광도 수용태도와 구매 행동)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the characteristics of the adolescent consumers related to the attitudes toward TV advertisements on and purchasing behaviors of the sport beverages, and to test the role of the atitudes toward TV advertisements between the consumer characteristics and the purchasing behaviors of the sport beverages. The qusetionnaire method was utilized to 549 female and male junior and senior high school students in urban and rural areas. The results showed that the attitudes toward TV advertisement on sport beverage was related to the residentiae years in school, whom to buy, level of interests in sports, and level of knowledges of the beverages; purchasing behaviors of the sport beverages, whom to buy, gender, level of knowledges of the beverages, size of the allowance, and the residentiae years in school. The attitudes toward TV advertisements seemed to the intervenning role between the consumer characteristics and the purchasing behaviors among adolescent consumers.

  • The purposes of this study were to identify the effects of women's attitudes, selection, and wearing experience on purchasing intention of underwears made of smart fibers. Most women wore brassieres when going out and preferred moulded cup brassieres, but neglected wearing corsets. Age and marital status of women affected on women's attitudes toward underwear. Younger women in 20's preferred underwears made of smart fibers such as high hygroscopic and older women in 40's preferred conservative underwear. Most women had experienced stretchy underwear and wearing experiences of smart fiber underwears were positively related to purchasing intention. Underwear wearing experiences affected positively on purchasing intention of smart fiber underwears but some functions such as design and comfort affected negatively.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of sociocultural attitudes toward appearance, clothing and cosmetics purchasing behaviors according to male consumer's age group. The research method was survey and subjects were 656 male consumers. The results were as follows. First, three factors (appearance importance awareness, appearance internalization, and slimness importance awareness) were emerged on sociocultural attitudes toward appearance. Young age group showed higher level of appearance importance awareness and internalization than middle age group. Second, there were many differences on clothing purchasing behaviors by age variable. Young age group more importantly considered psycho-social purchasing motives, aesthetic selection criteria, and the internet as information source and purchasing place than middle age group. Whereas middle age group more importantly considered practical purchasing motives, practical selection criteria, and store display & salesman as information sources, and fashion outlet as purchasing place than young age group. Third, there were also many differences on cosmetics purchasing behaviors by age variable. Young age group used more and various cosmetics, and they more importantly considered skin improvement as purchasing motive, skin suitability and price as selection criteria, the internet as information source and purchasing place than middle age group. On the other hand, middle age group generally used fundamental cosmetics, and they more importantly considered skin protection as purchasing motive, quality as selection criterion, TV and store display & salesman as information sources, and discount store and cosmetics speciality store as purchasing places than young age group.

The Effects of Fashion Luxury Brand Loyalty on Attitudes toward Counterfeits (패션 명품브랜드 충성도가 복제품 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine attitudes toward countefeits among fashion luxury brand consumers, and to investigate the influences or effects of brand loyalty on purchasing frequency of fashion luxury brand and the effects of brand loyalty on attitudes toward counterfeits. The subject used for this study were 214 female consumers who have purchased fashion luxury brand products. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, multiple regression, and ANOVA were used. As the results, first, the brand loyalty were classified into three factors; enduring brand loyalty, symbolic brand loyalty and famous brand loyalty. Second, the attitudes toward counterfeit was composed of four factors; comparison with genuine goods, counterfeits as alternative, approval of counterfeits purchase, and illegality of counterfeit manufacturers. Third, purchasing frequency significantly influenced on the attitudes toward counterfeits finally, higher brand loyalty group had more negative attitudes and lower purchasing intention toward counterfeits than other groups. Based on these results, prevention marketing strategies of counterfeit goods would be provided.

Analysis of Purchasing Moderating Effect on Perfume Purchasing Propensities & Behavioral Attitudes

  • Purpose: This study looked at perfume buying patterns among 328 adolescents. Research design, data and methodology: The purchasing behaviors and attitudes of adolescents were divided into clusters and whether the purchasing behaviors and attitudes of each cluster had a moderating effect on purchasing behavior factors was analyzed. Results: Group classification according to attitude toward perfume purchasing behavior was divided into group 1, which purchases perfume according to one's own subjective opinion, and group 2, who purchases perfume according to external factors. Among the six purchasing behavior factors, the internal pleasure-seeking (p.<001) and fashion-seeking (p.<001) factors were statistically significant in both clusters 1 and 2, and in cluster 2, economic feasibility (p.<001)) internal product. It was found to be statistically significant other than pleasure and trend-seeking, indicating that there is a difference between the two groups. Conclusion:Adolescents consider economic feasibility when purchasing perfume, so it is necessary to set low prices and diversify products for marketing plans for perfume products
