In this research a qualitative method was employed, and research-related data were collected and analyzed through in-depth interviews. Results were shown that risk reduction behaviors at psychological risk perception on purchase activity itself included rationalization of purchase, accompanied purchase, reduction and discontinuance of purchase, and that risk reduction behaviors of psychological risk perception on the post-purchase situation included information search, establishment of selection criteria, establishment of marginal limit, selective purchase, planned and compared purchase, and reduction and discontinuance of purchase. Previous researches suggested brand loyalty, selection of famous brands, utilization of information agents by marketers, pre-purchase usage and guaranteed purchase, but these risk reduction methods were not utilized, this probably being interpreted as a result of characteristics of counterfeit. In addition, risk reduction behavior of one type tended to reduce risk perception of several other types, and risk reduction behaviors of various types were utilized to reduce a certain type's risk perception. Not only types of risk perception but also levels of risk perception appeared to have exerted influence to risk reduction behaviors.

  • This study examined: 1) the influence of 3 social presence types including shopping companions, other consumers, and sales associates on the consumer's purchase decision at a retail store; 2) the difference in the influence by shopping situation involving shopping together or shopping alone; and 3) the differences by consumer susceptibility to social influence and self-confidence. The study conducted three experiments with the retail shopping scenario manipulating consumer's positive self-evaluation, but lack of confidence after trying on a clothing product. Experiment 1 and Experiment 2 examined the positive influence of social presence while Experiment 3 examined the negative influence. The results showed that the positive comment of a shopping companion had the highest influence on the purchase decision. Such impact was more observable under the low susceptibility to normative influence. The negative comments of sales associate and shopping companion lowered the purchase decision. There was no difference by shopping situation. The results imply that influences of social presence on the consumer's purchase decision are different by positive or negative comments and such influences are not different by shopping situation.

The objective of this study is to examine the factors that have influences on consumer involvement of seafood. It is also aim to examine how the situation of seafood factors influences the consumer's behavior in purchasing and consuming the seafood. In this study, I have conducted a survey by using Busan housewives as random sampling. To examine this variable, situation factors that I used if the factor analysis. I also performed a multiple regression analysis to understand how the situation factors influenced the consumer's emotion and their satisfaction within the level of involvement. The result showed that consumer involvement seafood is created by not only interests and preferences, but also knowledge, perceived risk and profits. The seafood situation factors are divided into purchase situation, consumption situation and communication situation: purchase situation includes store factor, while consumption situation includes health factor and cooking-motive factor and communication situation includes information factor. Results of examining whether there are differences in the involvement explains that the involvement is different according to the level and it is divided into 2 groups. The first groups is the high-involvement group that shows preferences and interests, perceived risk and profits. Another group is the low-involvement group that shows preferences and interests, knowledge and profits. The result on examining whether situation sectors have influences on the involvement shows that high-involvement group is only affected by store factor in purchase situation and low-involvement group is only affected by information factor in communication situation.
