Pulse Radar Signal Processing Algorithm for Vehicle Detection (차량검지 시스템을 위한 펄스레이더 신호처리 알고리즘)

  • This paper presents a vehicle detecting algorithm using microwave system signals. The Proposed algerian decides the breakpoint of signals using the likelihood criteria. The decided signals are segmented and simplified. The proposed searching algorithm uses the Euclid distance from the weighted signal data. We tested the proposed algorithm to compare with the segmentation which is a method using smoothing and edge detection. We confirm that the proposed algorithm is very useful for detecting vehicles by field test.

  • We develop an embedded system to measure various sensor data, control multiple motors, and communicate with mobile devices for system managements. Choosing TI AM3359 microprocessor featuring high processing performance, low power consumption, and various I/O device support, we design and build the embedded system hardware so that it supports multiple global positioning system (GPS) and gyro sensor modules to measure precise position; multiple pulse width modulation (PWM) outputs to control multiple direct current (DC) motors; a Bluetooth module to communicate with mobile devices. Then, we port the boot loader and device drivers to the built circuit board and construct the firmware development environment for the application programming. The performance of the designed and implemented embedded system is demonstrated by real motor control test using GPS and gyro sensor data and control parameters configured by a mobile device.

  • Whiplash is the most frequent injury among occupants in low speed rear-end car collision. The aim of this paper is to analyze thecorrelation between influence parameters of head restraints and whiplash injury criteria.In this paper, DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) method is used for optimum design of head restrains. Four control factors of head restraints have selected by function matrix method. The effects of the control factors have been experimentally evaluated by using a sled pulse from 16km/h relative velocity which is suggested by KNCAP (Korean New Car Assessment Program). In order to reduce the noise factors of dynamic tests, whiplash tests were repeated twice. By using DFSS, the correlation between control factors and injury criteria has been comprehended.

The prevalence of hypertension in Haiti : A retrospective study

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the prevalence of hypertension in Haiti and to describe regional characteristics, and thus to speculate Haitian specific regional risk factors. This is a descriptive and comparative study. Subjects were 145 male/female Haitians, who aged between 30 and 59 and have lived in rural areas, had their hypertension indicators being screened. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA. More than four fifth of the subjects (82.8%) showed pre-hypertensive or moderate to severe hypertensive condition. 65.5% of the total had abnormal pulse pressure ($PP{\geq}50$) and 13.8% of the sample showed tachycardia (Heart $Rate{\geq}100$). Female Haitian tended to have higher diastolic blood pressure and faster heart rate than male Haitian. The residents who lived in Part 5-1 area with less accessibility to drinking water tended to have higher systolic and diastolic pressure. Hydration status of Haitians was highly considered as an affecting factor on the distribution of hypertension as evidenced by different level of accessibility to drinking water.

  • 본 논문에서는 사이즈가 다른 고출력 원통형 리튬이온 배터리의 Remaining Useful Life(RUL)을 방전용량 기반으로 전기적 특성분석을 실시하였다. 우선, 배터리의 충/방전이 계속될 시 용량이 어떻게 변화하는지 실험해보았으며, 만충 전압(Fully Charged)에서 만방 전압(Fully Discharged) 까지의 각각의 State-Of-Charge(SOC)에서 Hybrid Pulse Power Characterization (HPPC) Test를 이용해 충전 저항과 방전 저항을 구하여, 용량과 저항의 관계를 파악하였으며, 배터리 RUL을 알기 위한 기본 정보를 확보했다.

  • 3-level 인버터에서 DC_Link와 각 leg의 스위치 간 라인에 존재하는 Stray inductance로 인해 스위칭 시 Voltage spike가 발생하게 된다. 3-level 인버터는 고전압, 대전력에서 주로 사용되기 때문에 Voltage spike로 인해 전력반도체 스위치에 순간적으로 큰 전압이 인가되어 정격 이하의 운전에서도 스위치가 소손되어 전체 시스템의 고장을 초래할 수 있다. 이와 같은 사고를 방지하기 위해 본 논문에서는 DC_Link 커패시터를 분할로 구성하여 Stray inductance를 균일하게 하고 전반적으로 최소화 하였다. Stray inductance는 Double Pulse Test 시뮬레이션 및 실험으로 확인하였다.

A Study on the High Temperature Filtration Performance Test of Low Density Ceramic Filters (저밀도 세라믹 필터의 고온 여과 성능시험에 관한 연구)

  • Hot gas filtration method via using ceramic filters is an evolving technology applicable to numerous industrial and air pollution control processes. Alumino silicate, organic and inorganic binders were the major raw materials in manufacturing ceramic filters. In this work, disc type ceramic filters(50$\phi$$\times$10t) were manufactured by vacuum forming processes using ceramic raw materials. The porosity and bulk density of disc type ceramic filers ranged from 86 to 89% and from 0.27 to 0.36 g/㎤, respectively. In this work disc type ceramic medium were tested utilizing coupon experimental apparatus. Disc type filters showed high collection efficiencies over 99.96% with Darchs law coefficients of 4.1$\times$10(sup)10~9.63$\times$10(sup)10/$m^2$ depending on mean pore sizes. In addition, filtration and detachment of ceramic filters turned out to be performed effectively using 10 cm/sec face velocity, 5 minutes filtration cycle, 100msec pulse jet valve opening time and 3 bar pulsing pressure.

  • In this study, the spray characteristics of blended fuels with biodiesel were investigated. The experiments were performed for the effect of mixing ratio and injection pressures on the spray behavior. Conventional diesel fuel and biodiesel fuel and blended fuels were used as test fuels. Through the spray visualization system, composed of a Halogen lamp and High speed camera. The process of spray injection was visualized. Fuel containing biodiesel has different spray pattern on account of the high viscosity and large surface tension. Through this experimental result, we found that, after solenoid driving pulse generates, the increase of injection pressure enables delay time to get shorter, but the increase of mixing ratio makes delay time lengthen.

  • The most of conventional ultrasonic transducers are constructed to generate either longitudinal or shear waves, but not both of them. We investigated the mechanism of dual mode transducers that generates both of the longitudinal and shear waves simultaneously with a single PZT element. The study has been aimed to find the desired cut by the examining the piezoelectric properties. Theory predicts that a mixed P/S mode transducer can be constructed using a related Z-cut of a PZT ceramics. We studied the performance of a PZT element as a function of its rotation angle so that its efficiency is optimized to excite the two waves equally strongly. The results are verified by checking the impedance variation of the element with Finite Element Methods, and chocking the wave form by pulse-echo test simulation.   • In this paper describes the development testing results of high density High Voltage Power Supply(HVPS) that employ microwave TWTs. The HVPS consist of number of modules connected in series. A new design that adapt resonant circuit and high density pulse transformer to the high voltage modules makes the HVPS much more reliable. Also High voltage Solid-State modulation using fast switching devices(FET's) and the test results of modulator modules development are represented.
