고빈도 경피신경전기자극의 자극강도에 따른 정상 성인여성 교감신경성 반응의 변화 (Changes in Sympathetic Nervous System Responses of Healthy Adult Women with Changes in the Stimulus Intensity of High Frequency Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the change in sympathetic nervous system responses of healthy adult women with changes in stimulus intensity of high frequency transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Methods: Twenty-four healthy subjects (women) received high frequency electrical stimulation of the forearm. The subjects were randomly assigned to one of two groups; a low intensity stimulation group (n=12) and a high intensity stimulation group (n=12). The electrode attachment was arranged on the forearm of the dominant arm and the electricity stimulus time was 20 minutes. Measured items included skin conductance, pulse rate, skin temperature, and respiration rate. Each was measured at 4 times. Results: Skin conductance and skin temperature showed significant group by time interactions, though there were no significant group and time effects. There were no significant differences according to time, group effect, and a group by time interaction in pulse and respiration rates. Conclusion: High frequency and high intensity electrical stimulation may be helpful for the improvement of sudomotor function through the activation of the sympathetic nervous system. Also, high frequency and low intensity electrical stimulation may be helpful for the reduction of sudomotor function via inhibition of the sympathetic nervous system.

주파수 영역의 선택정보를 이용한 멀티펄스 음성부호화 방식에 관한 연구 (A Study on Multi-Pulse Speech Coding Method by using Selected Information in a Frequency Domain)

  • 본 연구에서는 연속음성에서 무성자음을 포함한 천이구간을 탐색, 추출하고 주파수대역에서 근사합성하는 새로운 멀티펄스 음성부호화 방식 (FBD-MPC)를 제안하였다. 실험결과, 여자 음성의 경우 TSIUVC 추출율은 84.8%(파열음), 94.9%(마찰음), 92.3%(파찰음), 남자 음성의 경우는 88%(파열음), 94.9%(마찰음), 92.3%(파찰음)의 결과를 얻었다. 아울러, 0.547kHz 이하 2.813kHz 이상의 주파수 정보를 사용하여 TSIUVC 음성파형을 양호하게 근사합성할 수 있었으며, 유성음/무성음 선택정보를 이용한 MPC와 유성음/무음/TSIUVC를 이용한 FBO-MPC를 평가한 결과, FBO-MPC의 음질이 MPC의 음질에 비하여 개선되었음을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper describes an ASM(All Solid-state Modulator) pulsed power generator for non-thermal plasma applications. The proposed generator can produce 20kV, 500A, 100ns pulses at repetition rates up to 10kHz, and it is composed of 30 series connections of power circuit card assembly which contains paralleled MOSFETs, MOSFET drivers, energy storage capacitors and specially designed 1:1 pulse transformer. Higher pulse voltages and currents can easily be obtained by increasing the numbers of series and parallel connections of power circuit card and MOSFETs, respectively. Component layouts are optimized to minimize the leakage inductance and the voltage spikes across switching devices. Especially it put emphasis on the over-current protection (including short circuit) for the reliable operation in real situations. Experimental results show that the proposed pulser is very efficient in air pollution control application and could be useful for other applications such as synthesis of nanosize powders and non-thermal food processing.

  • 대부분의 건설 재해는 공사장 안전수칙을 지키지 않거나 복장 및 보호장비 미착용, 안전 불감증 및 근로자의 건강 등의 인재로 분석된다. 이러한 건설 재해 예방을 위해서는 현장관리직이 근로자의 건강을 점검할 필요성이 있으나 매 시간 근로자의 상태를 확인하기는 어려운 실정이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 단순한 보호구 기능에서 벗어나 근로자의 산소포화도와 맥박 수를 체크하여 자동으로 건강 상태를 파악할 수 있는 디지털 안전모의 설계를 제안하였다.

  • 가정과 사무실 정보 응용 및 서비스의 급격한 확산은 광대역 근거리 멀티미디어 통신을 가능하게 하는 새로운 무선 기술을 필요로 하고 있다. 고품질 미디어와 고속의 무선 연결을 위한 요구에 의하여 IEEE 표준화 그룹은 WPAN을 위한 고속 물리 계층을 고려하고 있다. 협대역의 펄스 전송을 기반으로 하는 UWB 다중 접속 기술은 고속의 서비스 제공, 낮은 전력 소모, 정확한 측위를 제공할 수 있는 응용 중의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 전력 제어된 UWB 디바이스로 구성된 무선 센서 네트워크에서 페이딩 환경에 대한 UWB의 BER 성능을 평가하기 위한 방법론을 제시한다. 얻어진 결과는 주어진 네트워크 구조에 따른 성능 분석을 위하여 사용될 수 있으며 UWB 홈 센서 네트워크를 위한 유용한 디자인 아이디어를 제공할 수 있다.

바이오휘드백을 통한 자기조절 훈련이 스트레스반응과 면역기능에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Self-Management and Relaxation Training through Biofeedback on Influencing the Stress Response and Immune Functions)

  • The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of self-management relaxation training through biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation methods. The effectiveness of the experimental methods was tested by measuring the degree of symptoms of stress (SOS), the McNair's profile of Mood States (POMS), the levels of ephinephrine, norepinephrine, pulse rate, blood pressure and natural killer cells. The subjects of this study were sixty six nursing students divided into four groups : two groups were the biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation groups, the other two groups served as control groups. One was a group of sophomores with no experience at all, the other a junior group without self -management or relaxation training. This study was conducted for eight weeks of clinical practice from April, 26th 1998 to June, 20th 1998. Biofeedback training was done with software developed by J&J company (1-410 form for abdominal respiration training). Progressive muscle relaxation training was done with u audiotape recorded according to Jacobson's Theory. The data were analyzed with frequencies, means, and analysis of covariance using the SPSS program and the significance level of statistics was 5%. The results of the study are : 1) The importance of clinical practice stress reduction is shown in that the level of symptoms of stress in the experimental groups in clinical practice was higher than in the group receiving only a lecture. 2) The relaxation training methods of biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation were effective in reducing the symptoms of stress under the clinical practice stress conditions. 3) The effectiveness of the biofeedback training relaxation method to reduce symptoms of stress was higher than that of progressive muscle relaxation. 4) The relaxation training methods of biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation were effective in reducing stressful mood states. 5) The relaxation training methods of biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation were not effective in reducing epinephrine and norepinephrine levels. 6) The relaxation training methods of biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation were effective in increaing the number of natural killer cells. 7) The relaxation training methods of biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation were effective in decreasing high systolic and diastolic values of blood pressure and high pulse rates. In summary, the relaxation methods of biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation in reducing clinical practice stress were effective in lowering the level of symptoms of stress and the profile of stressful mood states. They were also effective in lowering high blood pressure and pulse rates. The relaxation methods were effective in increasing the number of natural killer cells as part of the immune function. However, relaxation methods were not effective in reducing the catecholamine level. The biofeedback training method for reduction of symptoms of stress was more effective than the progressive muscle relaxation method.

Activation by Combined Treatment with Cycloheximide and Electrical Stimulation of In-Vitro Matured Porcine Oocytes Improves Subsequent Parthenogenetic Development

  • Electrical treatment has been widely used for porcine oocytes activation. However, developmental rates following electrical activation of porcine oocytes is relatively inefficient compared to other domestic animals. To investigate the effects of porcine oocytes on combined activation by both chemical and electrical treatment, in-vitro matured oocytes were activated by combined cycloheximide and electrical pulses treatment. Cumulus-free oocytes were exposed with NCSU-23 medium containing cycloheximide $(10{\mu}g/ml)$ for 0, 5, 10, 20, 30 min and then activated by electrical pulse treatment and cultured in PZM-3 for 8 days. Also effects of exposure to $6.25{\mu}M$ calcium ionophore for 2 min for cumulus-free oocytes were tested. The percentage of blastocyst formation in 10 min exposure to $10{\mu}g/ml$ cycloheximide and electrical pulse treatment was significantly increased (P<0.05) than in the control group. And exposure to $6.25{\mu}M$ calcium ionophore for 2 min with $10{\mu}g/ml$ cycloheximide for 10min and electrical pulse treatment significantly increased (P<0.05) the percentage of blastocyst developmental rates than the control group. In conclusion, activation by combined cycloheximide and electrical stimulation treatment promoted the subsequent development of porcine oocytes and improved the subsequence blastocyst development.

초음파를 이용한 에폭시 몰드변압기의 열화 진단 (Deterioration Diagnosis of Epoxy Mold-type Transformer Using Ultrasonic Waves)

  • 본 연구는 초음파 측정법을 사용하여 부분방전에 의한 에폭시 몰드형 전력변압기의 열화상태을 진단하기 위해 에폭시수지의 트리진전에 초음파신호를 분석하였으며, 또한 열화시간에 따른 트리길이, 방전전하량 및 초음파 펄스수의 특성을 조사하였다. 실험 결과, 애폭시수지에 발생된 트리는 수지령이면, 인가전압 16[kV]에 대한 트리 길이 및 트리 폭의 평균성 장률은 각각 0.014 및 0.026[mm/min] 이였으며, 20[kV]의 경우 이들 값은 각각 0.032 및 0.063[mm/min]으로 더욱 증가된 것으로 나타났다. 열화중기 이후 트리가 성장함에 따라 초음파 펄스수 및 부분방전 전하량은 급격히 증가된 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 초음파 펄스수는 방전전하량에 비례하여 증가되었다. 또한 몰드형 전력변압기의 초음파 측정시 기본 데이터를 얻기 위해 초음파 발진 및 수신장치를 사용하여 에폭시수지에 대한 초음파신호의 감쇄, 시간지연 및 지향특성도 조사하였다.

초음파 속도를 이용한 콘크리트의 응결 및 초기 강도 추정 (Estimation of Setting Time and Early-age Strength of Concrete Using the Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity)

  • 본 연구에서는 모르타르와 콘크리트의 초음파 속도를 자동적으로 측정할 수 있는 모니터링 시스템을 이용하여 물-결합재 비(W/B) 가 $0.27{\sim}0.50$인 모르타르와 콘크리트의 초음파 속도를 배합 직후부터 24시간까지 측정하였다. 또한, 용결 시간과 압축강도를 측정하기 위해 관입 저항 시험과 압축강도 시험을 각각 수행하였다. 실험결과로부터, 보통강도 콘크리트 배합의 초음파 속도는 배합 후 수 시간 동안에는 일정하다가 이후부터 갑자기 증가하는 경향을 보인 반면에, 고강도 콘크리트 배합에서는 고성능 감수제의 사용에 따른 응결 지연으로 초음파 속도가 서서히 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 그리고, 콘크리트의 응결은 초음파 속도가 소정의 속도에 도달했을 때 발생하는 것으로 나타냈다. 또한, 초음파 속도로부터 재령 3일 이하의 초기 강도 추정식에 W/B의 영향을 고려하면 보다 정확한 예측이 가능하리라 판단된다.

Predictors of Avascular Necrosis after Kidney Transplantation

  • Background: Risk factors for bone avascular necrosis (AVN), a common late complication after kidney transplantation (KT), are not well known. Methods: Patients that underwent living-donor KT at Asan Medical Center between January 2009 and July 2016 were included in this retrospective study to determine the incidence and risk factors for AVN after KT. Results: Among 1,570 patients that underwent living-donor KT, 33 (2.1%) developed AVN during a mean follow-up of 49.8±25.0 months. Additionally, AVN was diagnosed at a mean of 13.9±6.6 months after KT. The mean cumulative corticosteroid dose during the last follow-up in patients without AVN (9,108±3,400 mg) was higher than that that in patients with AVN (4,483±1,114 mg) until AVN development (P<0.01). More patients among those with AVN (n=4, 12.1%) underwent steroid pulse treatment because of biopsy-proven rejections during the first 6 months after KT than patients without AVN (n=68, 4.4%; P=0.04). Female (hazard ratio [HR], 2.29; P=0.04) and steroid pulse treatment during the first 6 months (HR, 2.31; P=0.02) were significant AVN risk factors as revealed by the Cox proportional multivariate analysis. However, no significant differences in rejection-free graft survival rates were observed between the two groups (P=0.67). Conclusions: Steroid pulse treatment within 6 months of KT and being female were independent risk factors for AVN development.
