TIME-SERIES PHOTOMETRY OF VARIABLE STARS IN THE GLOBULAR CLUSTER NGC 288

  • We present the results of BV time-series photometry of the globular cluster NGC 288. Observations were carried out to search for variable stars using the Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet) 1.6-m telescopes and a 4k pre-science CCD camera during a test observation from August to December, 2014. We found a new SX Phe star and confirmed twelve previously known variable stars in NGC 288. For the semi-regular variable star V1, we newly determined a period of 37.3 days from light curves spanning 137 days. The light-curve solution of the eclipsing binary V10 indicates that the system is probably a detached system. The pulsation properties of nine SX Phe stars were examined by applying multiple frequency analysis to their light curves. We derived a new Period-Luminosity (P-L) relation, ${\langle}M_V{\rangle}=-2.476({\pm}0.300){\log}P-0.354({\pm}0.385)$, from six SX Phe stars showing the fundamental mode. Additionally, the period ratios of three SX Phe stars that probably have a double-radial mode were investigated; $P_{FO}/P_F=0.779$ for V5, $P_{TO}/P_{FO}=0.685$ for V9, $P_{SO}/P_{FO}=0.811$ for V11. This paper is the first contribution in a series assessing the detections and properties of variable stars in six southern globular clusters with the KMTNet system.

족궐음간경(足厥陰肝經) 오수혈 주치(主治)의 특성(特性)과 시동병(是動病)의 연관성(聯關性)에 관한 연구(硏究) -<침구갑을경(鍼灸甲乙經)>을 중심(中心)으로- (A Study on Relativity between Shi-Dong-Bing(是動病) and Five Su Points Related Symptoms of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum(足厥陰肝經) -Based on the Study of Zhen Jiu Jia Yi jing(鍼炎甲乙經)-)

  • Objectives : It is known that the five Su points are very useful clinically. The following study was undertaken in order to find out the general characteristic and the origin of the five Su points. Methods: We investigated the relation of symptoms that are treated by five Su points and Shi-Dong Suo-Sheng-Bing(是動 所生病). The main reference book was Zhen Jiu Jia Yi jing(鍼灸甲乙經) and the author took Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum(足厥陰肝經) as an example. Results : 1. Five Su point of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum(足厥陰肝經) treats Shi-Dong-Bing(是動病) of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum. It is peculiarity of Five Su point of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum, differed from the others acupoints. Symptoms of Shi-Dang-Bing appears with the abnormal pulsation of Merdian Gi(脈氣), and the special feature of Shi-Dang-Bing is the symptoms are consisted of disorders of whole body, trobles of an internal organ, and psychosomatic disorders. 2. In , it is described the part of pulse feeling for Shi-Dong-Bing(是動病) of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum(足厥陰肝經) as ‘A region that is 2 Chon(寸) from the basic digital joint of the first toe’. This region is agree with the acupoint of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum in , . And Haeng-gan(行間) Tae-chung(太衝), members of five Su-points of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum is situated the same region. So we suppose that the part of pulse feeling for Shi-Dong-Bing of Liver Meridian of Foot Gworeum is transformed into Haeng-gan(行間) Tae-chung(太衝), among the five Su points.

수치 모사된 뇌우 유출의 구조와 진화 (Structure and Evolution of a Numerically Simulated Thunderstorm Outflow)

  • 명시적 액체-얼음상 미시물리 과정을 포함하는 구름 분해 모형(ARPS: Advanced Regional Prediction System)을 이용하여 2차원 그리고 주변 바람이 없는 경우에 뇌우 유출의 구조와 진화를 조사하였다. 고해상도 격자 간격(50m)을 이용하여 유출의 난류 구조를 명시적으로 분해하였다. 모사된 단세포 스톰과 스톰과 연관된 Kelvin-Helmholtz(KH) 빌로우(billow)는 발달, 성숙, 소멸의 생애 단계를 가졌다. 구름 역학과 미시물리 사이의 상호작용으로 야기된 이차 맥동과 대류 세포의 분활이 관측되었다. 상대적으로 건조한 하층 대기를 낙하하는 빗방울과 우박의 증발에 기인한 찬 하강류는 뇌우 찬 공기 유출을 야기시켰다. 유출 머리는 거의 일정한 속도로 이동하였다. KH 불안정에 의해 생성된 KH 빌로우는 유출 상부에서 난류 혼합을 야기하였으며 유출의 구조를 지배하였다. KH 빌로우는 유출 머리에서 생성되었고 돌풍 전선에 상대적으로 뒤쪽으로 이동함에 따라 성장하고 소멸하였다. 가장 빨리 성장하는 섭동의 수평 파장과 임계 시어층 깊이의 비 그리고 KH 빌로우의 수평 파장과 최대 진폭의 비에 대한 수치 모사 결과는 다른 연구 결과와 잘 일치하였다.

난임 여성의 체질량지수(BMI), 불임기간에 따른 맥파 연구 (A study on the pulse wave factor according to BMI and period of sterility on female)

  • Objectives : This is the study to understand of the pulse wave factor according to BMI and period of sterility on female, and to confirm the relationship of pulse wave factor among left and right inch, bar and cubit. Methods : The Questions and measurement of the pulse wave were operated with subjects(76 sterile females using on public health center). The measurement of the pulse wave was operated in 6 part of left and right inch, bar and cubit. The pulse wave was prior measured in part of left bar (i.e. interior pulsation part of radial process styloides in left hand), and next was measured in part of left inch and bar. And the pulse wave was operated samely in part of right inch, bar and cubit. Results : The results were as follows. The pulse energy of 6 part of left and right inch, bar and cubit was showed statistical significance and decreased in order of left inch, right inch, left cubit, right cubit, left inch, right bar. The left and right inch and cubit were showed numerical value of normal range, but left and right bar were showed lower pulse eneregy than normal range. Also left and right cubit were showed lower than left and right inch, and higher than left and right bar. In BMI, The pulse energy of left and right inch, cubit and the average of right hand was not showed statistical significance in the range of low-weight, normal, over-weight and obesity. But in the left and right bar and the average of left hand, the pulse energy of over-weight and obesity group were showed significantly higher than low-weight group. And the pulse wave factor was divided the pattern of h1 showing high numerical value in inch (Ap, As, Aw) and the pattern of Wm showing high numerical value in bar and cubit (RAI, Ad) Conclusions : The low pulse energy of bar was significant observation on the setting of oriental medical diagnostic index on sterilitas. Also, in the numerical value pattern of diverse pulse wave factor, it was divided the pattern of high numerical value in inch and the pattern of high numerical value in bar and cubit. On this, we think that the studies need in the future.

통증어휘를 이용한 통증비율척도의 개발연구 (A Study for Development of Ratio Beale Measuring Pain Using Korean Pain Tersm)

  • The main purpose of this study is to develop a ratio scale measuring level of pain using Korean pain terms. The specific purposes of this study are to identify the degree of pain of each pain term in each subclass: to classify each subclass in terms of dimensions of pain; and to analyze factors of the Korean pain ratio scale clustering together. One hundred an4 fifty eight pain terms which were originally identified as representative terms and their synonyms were used for data collection. Fifty eight nursing professors ana sixty one medical doctors who have contacted with patients having pain were asked to rate the weight of each pain term on a visual analogue scale. Subclasses in which ranks of pain terms were same f s findings in two previous studies were 1) thermal 3 am 2) cavity pressure, 3) single stimulating pain, 4) radiation pain. and 5) chemical pain. Subclasses in which ranks of pain terms were confused were 1) incisive pressure, and 2) cold pain. Subclasses in which one new pain term was added were 1) inflammatory-repeated pain, 2) punctuate pressure, 3) constrictive pressure, 4) fatigue-related pressure, and 5) suffering-relate4 pain. Subclasses in which two new pain terms were added were 1) traction pressure, 2) peripheral nerve pain, 3) dull pain, 4) pulsation-related pain, 5) digestion-related pain, 6) tract pain, and 7) punishment-related pain. Subclass in which 3 new pain terms were included was fear-related pain. Rating scores of 5 words in 4 subclasses were significantly different between the normal group and the extreme group of subjects in terms of subjective rating. Only one word among 6 words was that newly added to the scale. Rating scores of 12 words in 9 subclasses were significantly different between doctor group and nursing professor group. Among these 12 words, only 3 were those newly added to the scale. In comparison of these 12 words, mean scores of the nursing professors were always 7 to 16 points higher than those of the medical doctors. In the analysis of judgement of subjects in terms of dimensions of pain terms, subclasses of dull pain, cavity pressure, tract pain and cold pain were suggested to be included in the miscellaneous dimension. As a result of factor analysis of the ratings given to 96 pain words using principal components analysis without iteration and with varimax rotation limiting the number of factors to 4, factors of severe pain (factor I) mild-moderate pain (factor II) , causative pain (factor III) and temperature-related pain(factor IV) were extracted with the factor loading above 0.388. When the pain words were re-arranged on the bases of factor loading above 0.368, number of factors decreased to only first two factors. Maximum score of pain word in factor II was 46.17 and the minimum score of the factor I was 45.36. Further studies are needed to identify the validity, reliability, sensitivity and practicability of this ratio scale using patients having various sources of pain.

Ba-ferrite 박막의 제조 및 자기적 특성에 관한 연구 (The Preparation and Magnetic Properties in Ba-ferrite Film)

  • Si 기판 위에 $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$을 하지층으로 하는 Ba-ferrite 박막을 pulsed laser deposition system으로 제조하여 결정학적 및 자기적 성질을 X선 회절, SEM, Mossbauer 분광법 및 VSM을 사용하여 연구하였다. $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$박막은 Si 기판위에 PLD를 이용하여 기판온도 400 $^{\circ}C$, 산소압력 0.1 Torr로 5분간 증착 하였고 그 위에 두께를 달리하여 Ba-ferrite 박막을 제조하였다. Ba-ferrite 결정은 가늘고 긴 모양의 결정립들로 형성되었으며 두께에 따라 그 모양과 상태가 변화하였다. Mossbauer 분광법으로부터 Ba-ferrite 결정내의 Fe 원자의 스핀 방향은 두께가 얇을수록 하지층의 영향으로 기판에 수직으로 정렬하려는 경향을 보이고 있음을 확인하였다. 자기이력곡선의 각형비 역시 두께가 얇을수록 더 크며 이러한 특성은 수평에 비하여 수직의 경우가 더 강하게 나타났다. 보자력 역시 같은 경향을 보이나 포화자화의 값은 수평의 경우에 더 큰 값을 나타내었다. 결정구조는 Magnetoplumbite로서 두께가 작아질수록 결정상수 $\alpha$는 감소하고 c는 증가하는 경향을 보였다.

만성전립선염환자(慢性前立腺炎患者) 40예(例)에 대(對)한 임상적(臨床的) 고찰(考察) (The Clinical Study on 40 Cases of Patient with Chronic Prostatitis)

  • A clinical study was done 40 patients of chronic prostatitis who was treated in Dept. of Internal Medicine, Oriental Medicine Hospital, Taejon University, from 1 Mar. 1999 to 31 Oct. 1999. The results were as follows. 1. In distribution of age, 30's and 40's were 57.5% the most, 20's and 60's were 35.0%, 50's was 7.5%. 2. In distribution of past history, the urethritis(45.0%) was the most. 3. In distribution of ocupation, a white-collar worker was 35.0%, a business man was 22.5%, a public servant was 12.5%, etc. 4. Sitting the mean time of day were distributed 5~7 hours, above 7 hours, 3~5 hours, under 3 hours, etc. 5. The resting interval of a long distance drive were distributed 2 hours(35.0%), 3 hours(32.5%), etc. 6. The habit of enduring ejaculation during sexual intercourse was showed 45.0%. 7. The habit of enduring urination was showed 20.0%. 8. Influency of mental stress was showed 90.0%. 9. Ten cases(25.0%) were showed riding horse or riding bicycle. 10. Four cases(10.0%) were showed wearing tight trousers. 11. The habit of put a wallet his hip pocket was showed 57.5%. 12. The most common symptom was distributed the others symp-tom(66.8%) and the voiding symptom(63.3%) more than pain-neuro-logical symptom(37.5%) and symptom related with sexual function (26.6%). 13. In distribution of palpation, lower abdominal pain, lumbar pain, perineal or parascrotal pain were mostly showed right side. Moreover diagnosis of pulsation was weakly showed chi pulse of right. 14. Duration of disease were distributed above 1 year(82.5%), under 1 year(17.5%). Degree of prostatitis was severe showed adove 1 year. 15. The distribution of WBC count of the prostatic secretion, com-paring with before therapy and after therapy, were showed from 5 cases to 0 case in very many/HPF, from 23 cases to 13 cases in many/HPF, from 12 cases to 13 cases in 10~30/HPF, from 0 case to 13 cases in under 10/HPF. 16. Therapeutic improvement of symptom were distributed pain-neurological symptom(94.8%), the others symptom(90.8%), the void-ing symptom(89.6%) and symptom related with sexual function(67.5%). 17. Differentiation of symptoms and signs were distributed dificiency of spleen-lung vital energy, wetness-heat of lower warmer, dificiency of spleen-kidney yang, dificiency of kidney yin, wetness-phlegm, dificiency of vital energy and blood. The prescriptions were Bojungikgitang(44.6%), Yukmijihwangtang(20.7%), Palmijihwangtang(12.0%), etc.

산개성단 NGC 1039(M34) 영역의 변광성 (VARIABLE STARS IN THE REGION OF THE OPEN CLUSTER NGC 1039 (M34))

  • NGC 1039 영역의 변광성 탐사로부터 7개의 ${\delta}$ Scuti형 변광성, 2개의 ${\gamma}$ Doradus형 변광성, 14개의 식쌍성 및 5개의 장지기형 불규칙 변광성을 찾았다. 이 중에서 3개를 제외한 나머지는 모두 새로 발견한 것이다. 이들 중 ${\delta}$ Scuti형 변광성 4개와 ${\gamma}$ Doradus형 변광성 2개 및 장주기형 불규칙 변광성 1개는 성단구성원일 가능성이 크다. 14개의 식쌍성 중에서 12개는 주기와 변광진폭 등을 구하였으며, 나머지 2개는 22일 관측 자료 중 하루치에서만 식 현상이 나타나서 EA형 식쌍성으로 보인다. B, V등급의 변광진폭을 같이 구한 식쌍성의 변광진폭비 $A_V/A_B$는 0.92이며, ${\delta}$ Scuti형 변광성의 결과를 이용한 0.75와 뚜렷이 구분된다. 5개의 장주기형 불규칙 변광성은 하나를 제외하고 나머지는 주기가 너무 길었고, 또한 주기성인지 알 수 없어서 밝기 변화만으로 변광성임을 알 수 있었다. 이 연구에서 찾은 변광성은 V등급이 10.84등급부터 16.30등급까지 분포하며, V등급의 변광진폭이 0.5등급 이상이면 16.3등급까지도 변광 여부를 확인할 수 있었다.

CFD 해석을 이용한 Balloon형 인공심폐기 설계를 위한 구조적 해석 (Structural Analysis for Constructing a Balloon Type Extracoporeal Membrane Oxygenator using CFD Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 기존의 인공심폐기의 단점을 보완하기 위하여 혈액펌프를 사용하지 않고 혈류의 흐름을 유도할 수 있는 기구(balloon)형 인공심폐기 설계를 위한 구조적 해석을 시도하였다. 가상의 모형 인공심폐기 내에서의 혈류의 흐름패턴을 분석하기 위하여 CFD 모델링 방법을 사용하였다. 이 시스템의 작동원리는 막 산화기 주위를 기구를 사용하여 압력하중을 인가하여 주기적으로 수축.이완되도록 하였으며, 시간에 따라 변화하는 시간 함수 값은 sine 반주기와 sine 주기를 계산하여 적용하였다. 이와 같은 방법으로 기구형 인공심폐기를 설계할 경우 한 방향에 대한 혈류의 움직임을 유도할 수 있다는 가정 하에 구조적 해석을 하였다. 실험결과 CFD 시뮬레이션을 통하여 인공심폐기의 입구와 출구에 서의 혈류의 속도와 압력을 측정하여 분석한 결과 한 방향에 대한 혈류의 유동이 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 CFD 시뮬레이션은 혈류의 흐름특성을 미리 예측할 수 있어 인공심폐기 설계에 있어서 최적화된 디자인을 제공할 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.

플레어 시스템의 최적 운영방안에 대한 연구 (A Study on Optimal Operation for Flare systems)

  • 대부분의 정유 및 화학 시설에는 정전 등 갑작스러운 공정 정지 등의 문제로 인한 다량의 가스를 방출해야 하는 비상상황 발생에 대비하여 공정시설의 압력 상승을 완화하기 위해 설계된 플레어 시스템을 가지고 있다. 하지만 플레어 시스템의 불꽃 상승은 가시적 공해로 인한 공장 주변 주민들의 민원을 유발하며, 회사에서는 경제적 손실이 발생하므로 이에 대한 상시 관리가 필요한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 플레어 시스템의 최적 운영방안을 도출하기 위하여 두 가지 항목에 대해 진단 및 분석을 진행하였다. 첫째, 불꽃 높이 상승 원인을 확인하기 위해 음향누출 측정기를 이용하여 안전밸브 및 압력 조정 밸브에서의 가스 누설을 탐지하였다. 둘째, 불꽃 불안전성 원인 파악을 위해 밀봉 드럼에 대해 CFD 모사 및 모형 제작실험을 통한 맥동 현상 발생을 진단하였으며 밀봉 드럼은 정상이며, 안전밸브의 4.3% 및 압력 조정 밸브의 10%에서 누설을 확인함으로써 비정상적인 불꽃 발생의 원인을 도출하였다. 본 연구결과에서 제시되는 사항은 플레어 시스템을 보유한 모든 회사에 적용이 가능하므로 이를 통한 민원 발생 및 제품손실의 방지가 기대된다.
