유동층조립기를 이용한 금매분말과립의 물리·화학적 특성 (Physicochemical Characteristics of Steamed Prunus mume Powder Granules in a Fluid-Bed Granulator)

  • 매실은 구연산함량을 지표성분으로 하여 건강기능식품으로 인정받아, 재배가 증가됨에 따라 공급과잉에 이르러 다양한 가공품의 개발이 필요하다. 본 실험에서는 매실의 저장성을 높이고, 매실 성분을 그대로 섭취하기 위하여 금매분말과립을 제조하였다. 과육분리를 용이하게 하기 위해 청매를 증숙하여 금매를 제조하고 과육만을 분리하여 건조한 후 유동층조립기를 이용하여 과립을 제조하였다. 과립제조 시 증류수와 매실농축액을 분사하여 제조된 과립 SPPGW와 SPPGE에 대하여 일반성분, 매실제품의 지표성분인 구연산, 물리적 및 관능적 특성의 변화를 분석하였다. 분석결과 SPPGE에서 금매제조 시 추출액에서 유래한 지방과 구연산함량이 높아진 것을 알 수 있었다. 물리적 특성 분석에서는 금매분말을 과립화하였을 때 유동성과 용해성이 증진되어 과립화가 분말의 형태보다 편리한 제품의 형태임을 알 수 있었고, SPPGW가 유동성은 우수하였으나 용해성이 SPPGE보다 떨어지는 현상을 나타냈다. 관능특성분석 결과에서는 SPPGE는 색이 진하고 과립이 반짝거리며, 입안에서 쉽게 부서지는 특성을 나타내었다. 소비자기호도 평가결과에서는 SPPGE가 외관, 조직감 및 전반적인 기호도에서 가장 높은 평가를 받고 있어, 소비자들은 SPPGE를 선호하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로 매실을 금매의 형태로 제조하여 분말화한 후 과립화하는 것이 편리성을 증가시켜 주는 것을 알 수 있었고, 과립화 과정 중 분사액은 물로만 분사하는 것보다 매실농축액을 사용하는 것이 용해성이나 기호성을 높이는데 효율적이었다.

오일팜 부산물을 이용한 유기충전제 제조 가능성 평가 (Effect of New Organic Filler Made From Oil Palm Biomass on Paperboard Properties)

  • As the production of palm oil has been increased, the generation of oil palm biomass is also increased and the utilization of the oil palm biomass become more significant topic. One third of the oil palm biomass is empty fruit bunch (EFB) and the other two thirds are oil palm trunks and fronds. However, the effective use of oil palm biomass has not been developed and most of it is discarded near oil palm plants. In this study, we investigated the applicability of EFB to the paperboard mills, as an organic filler. The new organic filler was manufactured in a laboratory by grinding and fractionating dried EFB powder, and its properties were analyzed. The particles of EFB organic filler were larger and more spherical than those of the commercial wood powder. The use of EFB organic filler resulted in a higher bulk of the handsheets with similar trends of physical strength, compared to those made with wood powder. It was concluded that EFB could be used as a raw material to manufacture organic filler for paperboard production.

굴폐각을 이용한 제지폐수 처리 (Wastewater Treatment of Papermaking by Using Oyster Shells)

  • In this paper, oyster shell, diatomaceous earth, and active carbon were used as filter media for treating wastewater produced in paper mills. After filtering, the changes of COD and turbidity were investigated. As the results of estimating the efficiency of wasterwater treatment, porous oyster shell having higher specific surface area in powder was more effective than the others in removal of contaminants in waterwater, especially turbidity.

가소화 처리 목편으로부터 재조된 복합재료의 물성 (Properties of WPC with Chemical Modified Wood Particles)

  • Wood composite, could generally be made from very fine wood powder(<150 mesh) because more large size of wood particle had much less plasticity compared of polymer. To make more high plasticity of relatively large size of wood particle, wood particles were chemically modified with some reagent for acetylation and esterification, etc. WPC(wood plastic composite) was prepared with chemically modified wood particles and the mechanical properties of WPC were evaluated. WPC of esterified wood with maleic anhydride shows the highest level in tensile strength and breaking elongation.

고급알코올을 이용한 토너의 응집 및 스크리닝을 통한 제거 효과 (Agglomeration of Toner Particles with Fatty Alcohol and Their Removal by Screening)

  • Toner used in xerographic printing process is hydrophobic powder with low surface energy. The toner ink film fused on paper surface can be efficiently detached from a fiber surface during pulping, but it does not fragment again into fine toner particles. Ink agglomerates that result have too large particle size to be deinked by flotation. The purpose of this study is to enhance toner agglomeration using 1-octadecanol for improving the toner removal by screening. The effect of pH, pulping temperature, and 1-octadecanol on toner agglomeration and removal by screening was investigated using image analysis methods. Results showed that the size of toner agglomerates increased substantially when pulping was carried out at high temperature under acidic condition. When toner agglomerates showed spherical shape, the particle removal efficiency of screening was improved.

저농도 은이 함유된 LTCC 전극공정부산물로부터 은 회수 및 나노입자 제조 연구 (Study on the Recovery Silver and Nanoparticles Synthesis from LTCC By-products of Lowly Concentrated Silver)

  • In this paper, the recovery and nanoparticle synthesis of Ag from low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) by-products are studied. The effect of reaction behavior on Ag leaching conditions from the LTCC by-products is confirmed. The optimum leaching conditions are determined to be: 5 M $HNO_3$, a reaction temperature of $75^{\circ}C$, and a pulp density of 50 g/L at 60 min. For the selective recovery of Ag, the [Cl]/[Ag] equivalence ratio experiment is performed using added HCl; most of the Ag (more than 99%) is recovered. The XRD and MP-AES results confirm that the powder is AgCl and that impurities are at less than 1%. Ag nanoparticles are synthesized using a chemical reduction process for recycling, $NaBH_4$ and PVP are used as reducing agents and dispersion stabilizers. UV-vis and FE-SEM results show that AgCl powder is precipitated and that Ag nanoparticles are synthesized. Ag nanoparticles of 100% Ag are obtained under the chemical reaction conditions.

저농도 황산 용액 및 2-스텝 침출 방법을 이용한 폐LiFePO4 양극재로부터 효율적인 리튬의 선택적 회수 (Efficient Selective Recovery of Lithium from Waste LiFePO4 Cathode Materials using Low Concentration Sulfuric Solution and 2-step Leaching Method)

  • 폐리튬계 이차전지로부터 유가금속을 회수하는 것은 한정된 지구자원의 활용 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 최근 자동차의 전지로 많이 사용하고 있는 LiFePO4 전지 양극재 성분에는 리튬이 약 5.2% 함유되어 있으며, 사용 후 전지에서 리튬 재활용을 통하여 다시 전지의 원료로써 사용할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐LiFePO4 양극재 분말에 함유된 리튬을 선택적으로 침출하기 위하여 일반적으로 많이 사용하고 있는 무기산의 일종인 저농도 황산을 이용하였다. 그리고 각 성분의 침출율 및 분리효율을 비교·분석을 위하여 침출 시 광액농도를 변수로 2 스텝 침출 공정을 적용하여 최적의 침출조건을 도출하고자 하였다. 광액농도를 변수로 침출 시 철 및 인 성분이 거의 침출되지 않는 200 g/L의 광액농도 조건에서는 타 조건과 분리 효율이 약 200배 이상 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 이에 리튬의 선택적 침출 및 회수에 있어서 침출조건을 최적화하였다.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of lignocellulosic fillers made of wood powder and inorganic fillers, such as GCC and PCC, on physical properties of papers. Mechanical treatment and chemical treatment were carried out subsequently for generating lignocellulosic fillers, and then inorganic filler and wood powder were mixed together, and then mechanically treated for making lignocellulosic fillers covered with inorganic fillers. Consequently the particle size of lignocellulosic fillers was higher than that of inorganic fillers, which led to lumen loading and simultaneously surface coverage of fine inorganic fillers. Lignocellulosic fillers contributed to the increase of both bulk and opacity of handsheets dramatically, but some of properties including tensile strength, brightness and roughness decreased compared to inorganic fillers.

미더덕껍질 셀룰로오스의 매립 생분해성에 대한 연구 (Study for Biodegradability of Cellulose Derived from Styela clava tunics)

  • To investigate the biodegradation of the cellulose powder(CP) derived from Styela clava tunics(SCT), some physico-chemical properties and biodegradability of SCT-CP were measured after the incubation for 45 days. The particles size of SCT-CP prepared with washing, bleaching, drying, and grinding processes was $150-400{\mu}m$ although most of particles (70%) was more than $400{\mu}m$. The cellulose structures of SCT-CP detected using the X-ray diffraction and DSC analysis was very similar with that of wood pulp powder(WP-CP). The glass transition temperature was not detected in both samples. Furthermore, more than 90% of the SCT-CP was degraded, whereas only over 70% of the WP-CP was degraded after the incubation for 45 days. Therefore, these results suggest the possibility that SCT-CP is particularly applicable to prepare medical fiber and film for disease treatment.

  • Powdered additive or organic filler is used to improve paperboard thickness and to reduce drying energy consumption in the Korean paperboard industry. In a previous study, we identified alternative non-lignocellulosic resources to wood powder, specifically brewers grain and oil palm frond powders, and verified that these materials had the same functionality as wood powder. The main drawback of the use of such additives, including both lignocellulosic and non-lignocellulosic resources, is the deterioration in paperboard strengths. Therefore, we carried out a basic study on the surface modification of brewers grain and oil palm frond powders to improve the strengths of paperboard. Surface modification was performed using various types of cationic and oxidized starches. The streaming current and zeta-potential of the two non-lignocellulosic powders were measured and CLSM images were taken to assess the surface modification.
