The purposes of this study was to identify the magnitude and direction of the effects of Practical Reasoning Instruction (PRI) on students' achievements in Home Economics classes using the meta-analysis method and to examine whether the effects of PRI vary across publication status, study design, year of the studies, school level, gender of students, type of students' achievements, content area, location where the interventions of PRI were conducted, and duration. Thirty-four primary studies with 44 effect sizes were analyzed with calculation method of Becker(1988). A funnel plot method result revealed no publication bias. The results of this meta-analysis are as follows. First, PRI was more effective than traditional instruction on students' achievements. A summary statistic was 0.60 with a standard error of .074, which means that an increase of about two-third of a standard deviation beyond what would be expected from traditional instruction was gained from PRI intervention. Second, categorical and regression analyses were employed to find the sources of variance and moderators that predict the effects of PRI. The moderator analyses revealed no statistically significant effects of publication status, study design, school level, gender of students, type of students' achievements, and duration. Content area, location where the interventions of PRI were revealed to be moderators. It was concluded that PRI was effective in improving students' achievements regardless of publication status, study design, year of the studies, school level, gender of students, type of student achievement, and duration.

Currently, the market of digital contents such as e-books, cartoons and webtoons is growing up, but the copyrights infringement are serious issue due to their distribution through illegal ways. However, the technologies for copyright protection are not developed enough. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the NSS-based publication classification method for copyright protection. Using histogram calculated by NSS, we propose classification method for digital contents using SVM. The proposed algorithm will be useful for copyright protection because it lets us distinguish illegal distributed digital contents more easily.

This study was prepared for the purpose of suggesting the reasonable method of library management by reflecting it to the library acquisition and collection development through the user survey and analysis of an academic library. The 97,164 circulation records of C-academic library which were occurred between March 2006 and February 2007 were used, and sixteen subjects by five user groups ((1)undergraduate, (2)graduate students, (3)faculties(professors), (4)staffs, and (5)the other users) were surveyed for the study. The subject and the number of publication lapse year were categorized in this study. The non-parametric method and correlation coefficient were used for the analysis of subject part after the use factor and the number of publication lapse year were crossed by their status. Also, the same methods by use factor were used for the analysis of the number of year part.

The present study was carried out to summarize the effect of ginseng in the experimental diabetic rats by meta-analysis related studies. The association measure to test effect of ginseng was the mean difference(MD) between group of rats induced streptozotocin(STZ) and group of rats induced STZ treated with ginseng about the considered effect factors. The level of FI, glucose and TG were significantly reduced(< 0.01), and the level of glycogen was significantly increased by treatment with ginseng (< 0.01) After checking the indication of publication bias for the combined MDs by using the funnel plots, the anti-diabetic effects of ginseng is clearly presented in FI, glucose, TG and glycogen (< 0.05).

Purpose: While prior research has identified ethical issues in marketing research, more research needs to identify specific ethical behaviors that marketing researchers should adopt. This research addresses this gap by identifying a few ethical behaviors that marketing researchers should consider. Research design, data and methodology: The present study has a justification to collect adequate textual data in the current literature using screening process based on the marketing ethics topics and themes, and ethical behaviors of marketing researchers. Results: Based on the literature analysis, a marketing ethics model, which included the principles of fairness, honesty, responsibility, and respect for stakeholders. Since the rise of e-commerce and technology, a growing demand for a method to analyze website user behavior has been growing. Researchers in the field of marketing are responding to this demand by creating innovative interactive platforms. Conclusions: The term "ethical practices in market research" refers to a collection of best practices that, when followed, increase the likelihood that the research carries out is ethical, fair, and accurate. Because there needs to be more theoretical work done on the topic, there should be more empirical studies on ethical behaviors in marketing research.

Naval CMS(Combat Management System) is linked to various sensors and weapon equipment and use DDS(Data Distribution Service) for efficient data communication between ICU(Interface Control Unit) Node and IPN(Information Processing Node). In order to use DDS, software in the system communicates in an PUB/SUB(Publication/Subscribe) based on DDS topic. If the DDS messages structure in this PUB/SUB method does not match, problems such as incorrect command processing and wrong information delivery occur in sending and receiving application software. To improve this, this paper proposes a DDS message structure integrity verification method. To improve this, this paper proposes a DDS message structure integrity verification method using a hash tree. To verify the applicability of the proposed method to Naval CMS, the message integrity verification rate of the proposed method was measured, and the integrity verification method was applied to CMS and the initialization time of the existing combat management system was compared and the hash tree generation time of the message structures was measured to understand the effect on the operation and development process of CMS. Through this test, It was confirmed that the message structure verification method for system stability proposed in this paper can be applied to the Naval CMS.

A mutigrid convergence acceleration technique is presented for computing hypersonic inviscid and viscous flows in equilibrium state. The governing equations are solved using an explicit Runge-Kutta method. Curve fitting data in NASA Reference Publication 1181, 1260 are used to calculate equilibrium properties. In order to ensure stability, damped prolongation and modified implicit residual smoothing are proposed. Blunt body test cases are presented to demonstrate the robustness and the efficiency in performance of the proposed methods

The purpose of this meta-analysis was to investigate the anti-hepatotoxic effect of ginseng in rats induced with CC14 or TCDD, the toxicities that cause liver damages. Primary studies were collected from the ScienceDirect database, the DBpia, and the KISS. The data on the effect factors in plasma and in enzyme are listed as many as possible: The effect factors were alanine transaminase(ALT), aspartate transaminase(AST), liver aminopyrine N-demethylase(AD), liver aniline hydroxylase(AH), liver 3,4-Methylenedioxyamphetamine(liver MDA), cytochrome P450(P450), serum alkaline phosphatase(ALP), serum lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), cytochrome b5(Cyto b5), glutathione reductase (GR), Liver glutathione S-transferase(GST), liver glutamyltransferase (GT), Liver($\gamma$-GCS), serum liver 3,4-Methylenedioxyamphetamine(serum MDA), serum sorbitol dehydrogenase(SDH), serum total protein(TP), and serum $\gamma$-glutamyltransferase($\gamma$-GT). In order to investigate the effect of ginseng, the standard mean difference(HG) between the group of rats induced with toxicity(RH) and the group of rats induced with ginseng(RHG) were combined, and the significance of HGs were tested. The combined HGs checked the biases caused by heterogeneity among studies and the publication biases. Then they were adjusted by using the random effect model and trim and fill method. Although the publication biases were assumed, among all plasma factors the HGs of ALT, AST, serum MDA, SDH, TP, and $\gamma$-GT were significant, and among all enzyme factors the HGs of liver MDA, Cyto b5, GR, GST, and GT were significant. The treatment with ginseng significantly affected the plasma and enzyme levels in rats induced with toxicity.

As developing of the internet and computer technology, more interests are gathered to the conference service which provides capability of multi-party real-time visual conference. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a SIP-based visual conference system which includes Presence service. The elements of this conference system are user system, which has conference UA(User Agent) capability, presence seuer and conference server. For the presence service, we have adapted publication method which uses SIP PUBLISH message, and with this service various status informations of users are easily acquired. Also invitations and involvements to the conference are easily made through this service. For the conference server which controls establishment and management of multi-party connections, we have included conference event package. This package provides dynamically changing conference informations and users informations through SIP subscription and notification functions.

Purpose - The purpose of this study was to review and analyze EAJBE (The East Asian Journal of Business Economics) of EABEA (The East Asia Business Economics Association) and all of their published articles of 2013 to 2017 and to revise and update the existing publication standards and practices in order to improve the overall quality and reputation of EAJBE. Research design, data, and methodology - This paper applied an analytical approach, a case study method, to analyze and examine the published articles and the publication standards and practices of EAJBE (East Asian Journal of Business Economics) from their first publication. Results - The EAJBE has been issuing academic journals four times a year since its foundation. Although it is a journal based in Korea, overseas scholars publish articles steadily compared to other academic journals and the EAJBE raises the level of globalization. The level of internationalization of association's management and editorial members is also high, making the overall academic journal more cosmopolitan. Conclusions - Although the EABEA (The East Asia Business Economics Association) is a newly formed, the association is actively managing the academic community and making two major goals for the development of the academic journal. First, this journal is actively attracting overseas scholars, and is raising the level of internationalization. As an integrated academic conference is held with overseas scholars, they actively exchange with overseas scholars by contributing and publishing their papers. Second, it is seeking to establish national and international ties by publishing the papers of Korean scholars as well as abroad and holding academic contests regularly.
