Building facilities does not necessarily guarantee more leisure activities and higher satisfaction for the public. It is essential to draft at the trend of leisure policy in Japan and learn from the experiences to set the policy direction best fitting future changes in Korea, as Japan has gone through comprehensive changes ahead of us. With this understanding, this study analyzed key leisure policies of Japan and examined the trend of changes of time. The followings are the findings of the research. First, Japan's leisure policies could be categorized into five stages and six terms. Second, leisure policies in Japan are being established as a local welfare system, not in the context of industrial perspective, to help people in local community. This is to make voluntary move by eliminating the factors that restrict social demand with an effort to expand leisure time and to secure and enhance access to leisure space. Third, Neighborhood leisure space has taken the center stage, in an effort to seek solutions to the issues of improving space utilization, restoring local community and encouraging participation of local residents. The conclusion drawn from the research is as follows. It is required to recommend the use of the specific term 'leisure' for leisure policies in Korea and for leisure space policies in Korea that are now facing sociocultural challenges similar to the ones emerging in Japan, measures are required to improve physiological access of local residents including information promotion, lifetime education and relationships enhancement along with the establishment of neighborhood leisure space.

To exclude non-participant of leisure sports, the researcher has visited the leisure sports facilities to sampling survey. The collected data were put into the SPSSWIN 15.0 program to be Factor Analysis, Reliability Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, Path Analysis. With respect to the growth and development of innocity from improvements in leisure environments, this research examines the factors that affect the level of satisfaction of innocity leisure environments to propose political implications. In order to do so, 43 leisure activities were chosen, and the level of importance of those activities to the residents prior to moving to the innocity was compared to the level of satisfaction the residents felt regarding the activities after moving. As a result, 13 activities, including literature attendance, had greater levels of satisfaction after moving than the levels of importance prior to moving. The rest (30) activities showed the opposite results. We deduced the factors that affect the level of satisfaction by performing logistic regression analysis on 3 dependent variables. As a result, the static and passive leisure activities had higher satisfactory levels, whereas the dynamic and active had lower satisfactory levels. Thus, innocity must develop culture facilities quickly, expand exercise facilities to support sports activties, and promote tourism by improving and networking with tourist attractions in order to improve future satisfactory levels of leisure activities.

To set up a leisure-oriented park for children on the site for children amusement facilities, the present study is concerned about planning children amusement facilities for public use compatible with the new trend for children amusement facilities. For this purpose, a number of case studies, carried out domestic and abroad on developing children amusement facilities, were examined to choose appropriate facilities and feasible project plans were drawn up. Major findings of the study are as follows. First, it is strongly suggested that this project should be promoted because it is a leading pilot project for building children theme parks for each zone in Busan Metropolitan City. Second, it is suggested that field study programs should be run in connection with Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education.
The purpose of this study was 1) to analyze the attitudes about Senior Congregate Housing(SCH) among 4 urban areas, 2) to propose the various model for SCH which should be provided to satisfy the demand. Same opinions among 4 urban areas were ; 1) Whom were willing to move into SCH for later life, most of them were in early 50s. Most of the respondents desired to be serviced community alarm system, preferred one-room style, size of 11∼15 Pyung, and preferred living at suburban area. The multi-family type was preferred when not being healthy and be singled, but if healthy, preferred the type of single detached house. And they preferred the home ownership, highly valued of heating control system, health care and leisure programs. Thus for the future SCH, it should be designed all facilities were equipped with sports facilities, sauna and leisure programs. The findings indicated that the high rates of supporting with professional management for 24 hours by turn. But different opinions among 4 urban areas were; 2) Willingness live in SCH for later life had little difference in level of income, education, property. Especially, residents of Seoul Metropolitan area and Busan did not want to open their own common facilities to the public.
The purpose of this research was to find out relation between the attitudes toward work and leisure in later life and intention to move to senior community available to work among 50's in Seoul, Incheon, and Kyunggido. The same research questions would be revealed as the previous one done by Cho & Cho(2006). The data were the part of the survey collected from 556 respondents with questionnaire during November, 2002 by the Hong's research team(2004). The results of this study showed that most respondents were somewhat actively preparing toward work in later life and the level of preparation differed by the individual characteristics such as age, health and occupation. They preferred various work items specially managing facility center, raising animals and plants, and managing educating center, which were different from what current elderly workers were mainly involved in. Similarly to the work, most respondents cared for the kind of leisure activities to continue and saved money for the leisure expenses in later life. The better the economic conditions, the more actively prepared for leisure in later life. They were strongly expected to participate in public leisure facilities and programs for the elderly as a user, volunteer, and/or activist. Over two thirds of the respondents preferred to work and live together in later life and over two out of five had intention to move to the senior community available to work. The more active in work and/or leisure in later life, the higher intention to work together and/or to move to the community. Those results generally supported the previous research showed that the needs of work and leisure in later life would be increased and varied, therefor housing for the elderly should considered work space and program as well as leisure. The further study was suggested to focus on the potential and current residents in the sample case of the comprehensive welfare town for the elderly by local administration.

The aging of the population has been in process all over the world including most of advanced countries. With the improvement of living standards and medical technology due to the growth and development of the modern industrial society, the continuous Increase of the average lifespan has led to an abrupt growth in the population ratio of the aged. The senescence is the period where both physical and mental functions get dwindled, and due to a loss of roles in a society and a weakened social bond, the elderly people feel often neglected and isolated. Consequently, the elderly people spend a lot of time in their houses. As this means that the elderly gets higher possibility to stay within housing units and housing complex environment, residents' public space needs to be developed within the housing complex for them. Therefore, constructive programs and plans are required for the elderly who experience distance constraint because of corporal aging, for them to sustain community activities within their housing environment. Contrary to them in the 20th century, the elderly living in the nowadays informational society tend to enjoy their leisure times with arts and cultures and underscore the significance of social exchange under diverse possibility and sustainableness. Thus, it is important to preserve those circumstances to provide continuously them. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to grope a growth direction of residents' public space for the elderly to include them to their community through a socially integrated way by grasping present condition of apartment residents' public space's facilities and to be used practically as a basic housing environment data to raise quality of community life.
