  • With delegating proxy to process data before outsourcing, data owners in restricted access could enjoy flexible and powerful cloud storage service for productivity, but still confront with data integrity breach. Identity-based data auditing as a critical technology, could address this security concern efficiently and eliminate complicated owners' public key certificates management issue. Recently, Yu et al. proposed an Identity-Based Public Auditing for Dynamic Outsourced Data with Proxy Processing (https://doi.org/10.3837/tiis.2017.10.019). It aims to offer identity-based, privacy-preserving and batch auditing for multiple owners' data on different clouds, while allowing proxy processing. In this article, we first demonstrate this scheme is insecure in the sense that malicious cloud could pass integrity auditing without original data. Additionally, clouds and owners are able to recover proxy's private key and thus impersonate it to forge tags for any data. Secondly, we propose an improved scheme with provable security in the random oracle model, to achieve desirable secure identity based privacy-preserving batch public auditing with proxy processing. Thirdly, based on theoretical analysis and performance simulation, our scheme shows better efficiency over existing identity-based auditing scheme with proxy processing on single owner and single cloud effort, which will benefit secure big data storage if extrapolating in real application.

  • A remote control system (RCS) can monitor a user's confidential information by using the broadcast receivers in Android OS. However, the current RCS detection methods are based only on a virus vaccine. Therefore, if the user's smartphone is infected by a brand new RCS, these methods cannot detect this new RCS immediately. In this paper, we present a secure message transmission medium. This medium is completely isolated from networks and can communicate securely through a QR code channel by using symmetric key cryptography such as the AES block cipher and public key cryptography such as elliptic curve cryptography for providing security. Therefore, the RCS cannot detect any confidential information. This approach is completely immune to any RCS attacks. Furthermore, we present a secure QR code-based key exchange protocol by using the elliptic curve Diffie-Hellman method and message transmission protocols; the proposed protocol has high usability and is very secure.

  • Sensor network, which is technology to realize the ubiquitous environment, recently, could apply to the field of Mechanic & electronic Security System, Energy management system, Environment monitoring system, Home automation and health care application. However, feature of wireless networking of sensor network is vulnerable to eavesdropping and falsification about message. Presently, PKC(public key cryptography) technique using ECC(elliptic curve cryptography) is used to build up the secure networking over sensor network. ECC is more suitable to sensor having restricted performance than RSA, because it offers equal strength using small size of key. But, for high computation cost, ECC needs to enhance the performance to implement over sensor. In this paper, we propose the optimizing technique for multiplication, core operation in ECC, to accelerate the speed of ECC.

  • The ECQV(Elliptic Curve Qu-Vanstone) is a implicit certificate scheme based on ECC(Elliptic Curve Cryptography). Implicit certificates are smaller and faster than a traditional explicit certificate. Therefore, it can be used in a memory or bandwidth constraint communication environments. Also, the butterfly key expansion algorithm is a method to issue many certificates by using only one public key. In this study, by applying the butterfly key expansion algorithm to ECQV, we suggest a new useful issuing certificate method that can be used in vehicular communication environments.

  • This paper is concerned with the file protection in the file transfer systems. In the existing file transfer systems, passwords are used in the protection but do not provide any data protection and can only provide some protection against unauthorized access. Even provided with this protection, we cannot be free form computer hackers. In order to achieve higher standards of protection for our privacy (protection for data themselves, authentication of senders...) analternative technical system should be developed in using of pulic key cryptography by choosing the public key method (RSA public key) in the file transfer. A new system suggested in the paper can achieve some higher standards of protection for our privacy. We a result thie system will be easily applied to various document handling systems as in the data base.

  • Using Shor algorithm, factoring and discrete logarithm problem can be solved effectively. The public key cryptography, such as RSA and ECC, based on factoring and discrete logarithm problem can be broken in polynomial time using Shor algorithm. NIST has been conducting a PQC(Post Quantum Cryptography) standardization process to select quantum-resistant public key cryptography. The multivariate quadratic based signature scheme, which is one of the PQC candidates, is suitable for IoT devices with limited resources due to its short signature and fast sign and verify process. We analyzes classic attacks and quantum attacks for Rainbow which is the only multivatiate quadratic based signature scheme to be finalized up to the round 3. Also we compute the attack complexity for the round 3 Rainbow parameters, and analyzes the security level of Rainbow, one of the PQC standardization candidates.

  • In the 4th industrial revolution, the blockchain that distributes and manages data through a P2P network is used as a new decentralized networking paradigm in various fields such as manufacturing, culture, and public service. However, with the advent of quantum computers, quantum algorithms that are able to break existing cryptosystems such as hash function, symmetric key, and public key cryptography have been introduced. Currently, because most major blockchain systems use an elliptic curve cryptography to generate signatures for transactions, they are insecure against the quantum adversary. For this reason, the research on the quantum-resistant blockchain that utilizes lattice-based cryptography for transaction signatures is needed. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a blind signature scheme for the blockchain in which the contents of the signature can be verified later, as well as signing by hiding the contents to be signed using lattice-based cryptography with the property of quantum resistance. In addition, we prove the security of the proposed scheme using a random oracle model.

  • Broadcast encryption is a cryptographical primitive which is designed for a content provider to distribute contents to only privileged qualifying users through an insecure channel. Anyone who knows public keys can distribute contents by means of public key broadcast encryption whose technique can also be applicable to many other applications. In order to design public key broadcast encryption scheme, it should devise some methods that convert a broadcast encryption scheme based on symmetric key cryptosystem to a public key broadcast encryption. Up to this point, broadcast encryption scheme on trial for converting from symmetric key setting to asymmetric public key setting has been attempted by employing the Hierarchical Identity Based Encryption (HIBE) technique. However, this converting method is not optimal because some of the properties of HIBE are not quite fitting for public key broadcast schemes. In this paper, we proposed new converting method and an efficient public key broadcast encryption scheme Pub-PI which is obtained by adapting the new converting method to the PI scheme [10]. The transmission overhead of the Pub-PI is approximately 3r, where r is the number of revoked users. The storage size of Pub-PI is O($c^2$), where c is a system parameter of PI and the computation cost is 2 pairing computations.

  • A scheme based on the cryptography for enforcing multilevel security in a system where hierarchy is represented by a partially ordered set was first introduced by Akl et al. But the key generation algorithm of Akl et al. is infeasible when there is a large number of users. In 1985, MacKinnon et al. proposed a paper containing a condition which prevents cooperative attacks and optimizes the assignment in order to overcome this shortage. In 2005, Kim et al. proposed key management systems for multilevel security using one-way hash function, RSA algorithm, Poset dimension and Clifford semigroup in the context of modern cryptography. In particular, the key management system using Clifford semigroup of imaginary quadratic non-maximal orders is based on the fact that the computation of a key ideal $K_0$ from an ideal $EK_0$ seems to be difficult unless E is equivalent to O. We, in this paper, show that computing preimages under the bonding homomorphism is not difficult, and that the multilevel cryptosystem based on the Clifford semigroup is insecure and improper to the key management system.
