Modular multiplication is one of the most important arithmetic operations in public-key cryptography such as elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and RSA, and the performance of modular multiplier is a key factor influencing the performance of public-key cryptographic hardware. An efficient hardware implementation of word-based Montgomery modular multiplication algorithm is described in this paper. Our modular multiplier was designed to support eleven field sizes for prime field GF(p) and binary field GF(2k) as defined by SEC2 standard for ECC, making it suitable for lightweight hardware implementations of ECC processors. The proposed architecture employs pipeline scheme between the partial product generation and addition operation and the modular reduction operation to reduce the clock cycles required to compute modular multiplication by 50%. The hardware operation of our modular multiplier was demonstrated by FPGA verification. When synthesized with a 65-nm CMOS cell library, it was realized with 33,635 gate equivalents, and the maximum operating clock frequency was estimated at 147 MHz.
To achieve confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation simultaneously, the concept of signcryption was introduced by combining encryption and a signature in a single scheme. Certificate-based encryption schemes are designed to resolve the key escrow problem of identity-based encryption, as well as to simplify the certificate management problem in traditional public key cryptosystems. In this paper, we propose a new certificate-based signcryption scheme that has been proved to be secure against adaptive chosen ciphertext attacks and existentially unforgeable against chosen-message attacks in the random oracle model. Our scheme is not based on pairing and thus is efficient and practical. Furthermore, it allows a signcrypted message to be immediately verified by the public key of the sender. This means that verification and decryption of the signcrypted message are decoupled. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first signcryption scheme without pairing to have this feature.
In this paper, we propose the secure key management framework to connect USN with different network. Although connected USN with different network has no CA (Certificate Authority), it is important to use public key based cryptography system because this network consists of numerous devices. The proposed mechanisms focus on device authentication and public/private key management without existing PKI system of IP network. To solve no CA and certificate problems, the IDC (Identity Based Cryptography) concept is adopted in our proposed mechanism. To verify the possibility of realization, we make an effort to implement the proposed mechanisms to real system. In the test bed, both USN and PLC network are connected to IP network; and proposed mechanisms are implemented to PLC and sensor devices. Through this test using the proposed mechanism, we met the similar performance with symmetric algorithms on key generation and update process. Also, we confirmed possibility of connection between different network and device authentication.

It is imperative to migrate the current public key cryptosystem to a quantum-resistance system ahead of the realization of large-scale quantum computing technology. The National Institute of Standards and Technology, NIST, is promoting a public standardization project for Post-Quantum Cryptography(PQC) and also many research efforts have been conducted to apply PQC to TLS(Transport Layer Security) protocols, which are used for Internet communication security. In this paper, we propose a scenario in which a server and multi-clients share session keys on TLS by using the parallelized NTRU which is PQC in the key exchange process. In addition, we propose a method of accelerating NTRU using GPU and analyze its efficiency in an environment where a server needs to process large-scale data simultaneously.

Cloud Storage is the primary component of many businesses on cloud. Majority of the enterprises today are adopting a multicloud strategy to keep away from vendor lock-in and to optimize cost. Auditing schemes are used to ascertain the integrity of cloud data. Of these schemes, only the Provable Data Possession schemes (PDP) are resilient to key-exposure. These PDP schemes are devised using Public Key Infrastructure (PKI-) based cryptography, Identity-based cryptography, etc. PKI-based systems suffer from certificate-related communication/computational complexities. The Identity-based schemes deal with the exposure of only the auditing secret key (audit key). But with the exposure of both the audit key and the secret key used to update the audit key, the auditing process itself becomes a complete failure. So, an Identity-based PDP scheme with Parallel Key-Insulation is proposed for multiple cloud storage. It reduces the risk of exposure of both the audit key and the secret key used to update the audit key. It preserves the data privacy from the Third Party Auditor, secure against malicious Cloud Service Providers and facilitates batch auditing. The resilience to key-exposure is proved using the CDH assumption. Compared to the existing Identity-based multicloud schemes, it is efficient in integrity verification.

Mobile IP(RFC2002) is representative protocols that support mobility to host. In this paper, we propose a mobile IP registration protocol using public-key based certificates and CA(certification authority). Our proposed protocol authenticates the registration message of mobile node and prevents replay attack and minimal use of public key cryptography, Also, Our proposed protocol directly authenticates between agents and mobile nodes using certificates. Though the computer simulation, we prove that our proposal has better performance than the previous public-key based Mobile IP registration protocol.
An open problem proposed by Safavi-Naini and Seberry in IEEE transactions on information theory(1991) can be reduced to a combinatorial problem on partitioning a subset of binary matrices. We solve the generalized Naini-Seberry's open problem by considering a certain class of binary matrices. Thus a subliminal channel of r 〉 1 bit capacity is systematically established for Naini-Seberry's authentication schemes. We also construct concrete examples.

In this paper, we propose a new RLWE-based scheme named μ-Hope that exploits Error Correcting Code(ECC) on NewHope. The previous parameters of NewHope uses 12289 as a prime modulus, and the size of the public key, private key, and ciphertext is 928-byte, 1888-byte, and 1120-byte respectively, which can be said to be larger than other RLWE based algorithms. In this paper, we propose μ-Hope, which changes modulus 12289 to 769 to reduce the size of the public key, private key, and ciphertext. Also, we adopts XE1 as an Error Correcting Code(ECC) to solve the increased decryption failure rate caused by using a small prime modulus. As a result, the size of the public key, private key, and ciphertext decreased by 38%, 37%, and 37% respectively. As the computational efficiency caused by using a small prime modulus exceeds the performance degradation by exploiting ECC, this result in 25% performance improvement for a single key exchange.

In Asiacrypt 2003, Al-Riyami and Paterson proposed the notion of certificateless cryptography, a technique to remove key escrow from traditional identity-based cryptography as well as circumvent the certificate management problem of traditional public key cryptography. Subsequently much research has been done in the realm of certificateless encryption and signature schemes, but little to no work has been done for the identification primitive until 2013 when Chin et al. rigorously defined certificateless identification and proposed a concrete scheme. However Chin et al.'s scheme was proven in the random oracle model and Canetti et al. has shown that certain schemes provable secure in the random oracle model can be insecure when random oracles are replaced with actual hash functions. Therefore while having a proof in the random oracle model is better than having no proof at all, a scheme to be proven in the standard model would provide stronger security guarantees. In this paper, we propose the first certificateless identification scheme that is both efficient and show our proof of security in the standard model, that is without having to assume random oracles exist.
Mobile network environments are the environments where mobile devices are distributed invisible in our daily lives so that we can conventionally use mobile services at my time and place. The fact that we can work with mobile devices regardless of time and place, however, means that we are also in security threat of leaking or forging the information. In particular, without solving privacy concern, the mobile network environments which serve convenience to use, harmonized without daily lives, on the contrary, will cause a serious malfunction of establishing mobile network surveillance infrastructure. On the other hand, as the mobile devices with various sizes and figures, public key cryptography techniques requiring heavy computation are difficult to be applied to the computational constrained mobile devices. In this paper, we propose efficient PKI-based user authentication and java-based cryptography module for the privacy-preserving in mobile network environments. Proposed system is support a authentication and digital signature to minimize encrypting and decrypting operation by compounding session key and public key based on Korean standard cryptography algorithm(SEED, KCDSA, HAS160) and certificate in mobile network environment. Also, it has been found that session key distribution and user authentication is safety done on PDA.
