  • The Korean films in the 1980s played an important role in impeding the interaction between the media and the audience. In terms of two mechanisms of money and power, the Korean films lost the function of publicity and were forced to disregard positive aspects of culture as a way of understanding society. As a mass medium, the film did not give people the space for critical thought and discussion on social reality. This study tries to discuss how Korean movies in the 1980s functioned as a bulwark of critical debate provided by the interaction between cultural texts and audiences through the notion of the public sphere. For Habermas, the public sphere provides a basis for critical analysis in order to reveal the relationship between media and economic and administrative power in a modern society.

  • This study is to investigate the level of understanding of the separation of dispensing and prescribing health policy in Korea and its associated factors. A questionnaire survey was conducted upon a sample of college students responded from 540, response rate 77.1%, 4 months after the introduction of the policy. The understanding level was measured using 4 question items describing the goal and motivation of the policy, and 8 items describing its operational rules. For each item, respondents were asked to mark whether the description was true or false. While the goal and motivation of the policy was relatively well informed (mean understanding score: 69.6 out of 100), the students did not have good understanding of the operational details of the policy (mean score: 32.5). The results of regression analyses showed that personal interest and agreement with the need of the policy were the most significant factors affecting the understanding level. It is suggested that, for other health policies in the future, policy makers in Korea need to develop more effective media communication strategies to inform general public of the practical details of the policy.

Government has also exerted to construct infra for PUS. However results are not so meaningful. The government-funded science museum has mainly provided the program for students. Besides, science broadcasting channel has recorded the worst viewing rate. Meanwhile, some of the private sector-manufactured contents have attracted public attention in recent years, which is realized by considering elements such as an interesting topic selection, use of outside experts, two-way communication system, level adjusting for public through flexible running system. This study analyze podcast based program, face to face lectures, display contents by private industry, fab lab etc. on the base of the reciprocal PUS model to sort out the reason they have successful results. Futhermore, it argues that government should intensify support for private sector and create synergy effect by cultivate collaboration system between government and private sector to enhance the efficiency of PUS and offers public policy to realize the plan.

  • The 'MZ generation' is accustomed to expressing their thoughts and opinions online. As a result, the role of social media in understanding the opinions and public sentiment of the MZ generation has become increasingly important. In particular, the role of social media in understanding the opinions of young people in political contexts such as policies and elections is becoming more significant. Traditionally, in such political situations, various institutions conduct opinion surveys to grasp the opinions of the people. However, existing opinion surveys have many errors and limitations in understanding the specific opinions of the entire population since they are conducted on arbitrary individuals through survey techniques. Online communities are representative social media that share the opinions of the public on specific issues such as politics, economics, and culture. Therefore, online communities are widely used as a means to supplement the limitations of traditional opinion polls. In particular, the MZ generation is familiar with online platforms, and their political support has significant influence on election results and policy decisions. With this regard, this study analyzed the relationship between the sentiment reflected in online community text data by age group on major candidates and public opinion survey support rates during the Korean presidential election for those in their 20s. The analysis showed that negative sentiments reflected in online communities by the MZ generation have a negative correlation with public opinion survey support rates. This study contributes to theory and practice by revealing a significant association between social media and public opinion polls.

The roles for mental health public education then become: advocacy for the social determinants of health approach, better understanding of the nature of mental health problems, useful information for self-management, and more knowledge about appropriate treatments. A brief discussion of the structure of the response in Canada provides an overview of national and provincial responsibilities in mental health care with a case study highlighting one community's response to addressing mental disorders. Conclusion : Finally, challenges regarding the most effective educators and the issue of professional expertise embedded in the status quo are discussed.

  • Public health system and public health practice have changed over the past decades as the result of social and epidemiologic changes. New public health concept emphasizes leadership, strategical thinking, systematic planning and effective performance to identify and solve complex health problem In Korea, the role of Health Center has been expanded rapidly. However there is strong suspicion that Health Center can achieve their mission. This paper aims at understanding what is the needed functions of Health Center and which of its aspects needs improvement. The main results of this study are summarizes as follows. District Health Law does not address the core functions of Health Center. The staffs of Health Center have difficulties in prioritizing their services. The recent attempt to restructure Health Center and change delivery pattern of public health services ended with only limited success. To effectively confront threats to the public's health, the three major function of Health Center must be ${\circled}1$ modifying individual behavior and lifestyle, ${\circled}2$ improving social and economic conditions, and ${\circled}3$ reforming health policies. Better results do not come from setting new functions only; they come from understanding and improving the processes that will then leads to better outcome. We recommend that policy-makers focus economic evaluation of public health programs, building and spreading of the scientific evidence of programs, linkage of public health research and public health program. The criteria of delegation of public health service to private sector is urgently needed. Making community health information data available on a routine basis to providers, managers and researchers of public health services helps promote the efficiency of the overall operation of public health system.
