Factors Affecting Foreign Workers' Turnover Intentions

  • Purpose: As the proportion of foreigners participating in the domestic labor market is gradually increasing, problems caused by social and cultural differences have also been expressed. As such, the purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of organizational justice and social support on psychological and cultural adaptation and its effect on turnover intention. Research design, data and methodology: The data was collected for foreign workers who visited the Foreign Workers Support Center operated by the Korea Human Resources Development Service. A total of 224 data were analyzed from March 1 to March 30, 2019 and was analyzed through frequency analysis for basic work environment of foreign workers, factor analysis for reliability and validity of variables, and overall structural model analysis. Results: Organizational fairness did not appear to affect psychological adaptation and significant cultural adaptation but social support had a significant effect. Psychological adjustment did not affect turnover intention, and cultural adaptation had a significant effect on turnover intention. Conclusions: Thus, in order to reduce the intention of turnover and adapt well to the working environment, it would be more efficient to find ways to raise the level of psychological adaptation by strengthening social support rather than organizational fairness.

Pediatric nurses' grit and nursing intention during the COVID-19 pandemic: Mediating and moderating effects of mindset and psychological collectivism

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the mediating and moderating effects of mindset and psychological collectivism, respectively, on the relationship between grit and nursing intention for children with emerging infectious diseases, including coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), among pediatric nurses. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional descriptive study with 230 pediatric nurses. Results: Grit directly impacted mindset (β=.27, p<.001) and nursing intention (β=.20, p=.001). The direct effect of mindset on nursing intension (β=.28, p<.001) and the indirect effect of grit on nursing intension via mindset (β=.08, p<.001) were significant. Accordingly, mindset mediated the effect of grit on nursing intention. The effects of grit and psychological collectivism (β=.19, p=.003), respectively, on nursing intention were significant. However, the interaction between grit and psychological collectivism was not significant. Thus, psychological collectivism did not moderate the effect of grit on nursing intention. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate the importance of pediatric nurses' grit and mindset on their intended care for patients in critical situations. Cultivating a gritty culture and developing interventions to enhance nurses' personality traits associated with their performance will be crucial, and such measures are especially salient for pediatric nurses to face the new adjustments required in the era of COVID-19.

도시숲을 활용한 생활밀착형 산림치유 프로그램이 40대 이상 성인의 신체조성, 심리상태 및 삶의 질에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Life-Oriented Forest Healing Program in Urban Forest on Body Composition, Psychological State and Quality of Life of Adults over 40 Years of Age)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to verify physical and psychological effects of life-oriented forest healing program (LOFH) using urban forests in adults over 40 years of age. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pre-posttest design was used. There were 50 participants in the experimental group and 52 in the control group (a total of 102 individuals). The LOFH was conducted twice a week (3 hours per week) for a total of four weeks. Body composition, psychological states (such as depression and anxiety), and quality of life (QOL) were measured before and after the program. Results: Depression was significantly reduced in the group to which the forest healing program was applied. There was no significant difference in body composition (body mass index, body fat percentage, muscle mass, lean mass), other psychological states (anxiety, mood), or QOL. Conclusion: The LOFH was useful for improving depression in adults over 40 years of age. It is necessary to develop other LOFHs to improve body composition and quality of life.

사회복지 공공조직의 효과성을 위한 교육적 대안에 관한 실증연구 (A Study on the educational alternatives for Public Social Worker to improve the effectiveness of public social welfare organization)

  • 본 연구는 사회복지 공공조직의 직무 전문성 제고를 위해 효과성 요인을 진단하였고 더불어 사회복지담당공무원의 교육적대안과의 관계성을 찾아 발전적인 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 분석을 위해 강원도 지방자치단체 사회복지부서에서 근무하는 담당공무원 637명을 대상으로 설문조사하였다. 조직효과성관련 선행연구를 토대로 직무스트레스, 조직만족, 조직 몰입, 사회적지지에 관한 특성별(성별, 전공여부, 직렬) 인식의 차이를 살펴본 후, 교육적 대안(직무교육, 치유캠프, 심리상담)과의 인과적 관계를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 성별에 따른 차이는 업무의 창의력과 기관의 자부심에서만 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 전공여부에 따른 인식차이 확인을 통해 사회복지 전공자의 전문성이 업무수행능력에 필요함을 확인하였으며 전공자 임용의 시급함을 제시하였다. 직렬별 차이 결과는 전문성이나 전문지식면에서 사회복지직보다 행정직이 더 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 해석된다. 마지막으로 종속변수인 교육적 대안과 효과성 요인과의 인과적 관계 결과를 토대로 사회 복지 행정조직의 변화에 능동적이고 적극적인 대응의 필요성과 개인적 차원의 심리상담 과정 및 조직적 차원의 치유캠프운영 등 체계적인 교육프로그램을 도입하여 운영할 것을 제언하였다.

조직구성원의 셀프리더십이 직무만족과 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향 : 심리적 자본의 매개효과 (Impact of Self-Ledership of Organizational Members on Job Satisfaction and Organizational Citizenship Behavior: Mediating effect of psychological capital)

  • Purposes: This research is an empirical research to analyze the effect of self-leadership on the job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior and the mediating effect of psychological capital. Methods: This research investigates the effect of self-leadership and psychological capital on job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior of public health workers. The analysis was carried out to 4 local medical staffs in Chungcheongnam-do province, which distributed 330 copies and recovered 313 copies (94.8% recovery) and analyzed 304 copies (effective response rate 92.1%). Findings: First, causality was found in self-leadership and psychological capital. Second, it was found to have a significant effect on psychological capital and job satisfaction. Third, psychological capital was found to have a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Fourth, psychological capital has a positive effect on both Self-leadership's behavior-oriented strategy, natural reward strategy, and strategic thinking pattern strategy. In the job satisfaction relationship, there was a partial mediating effect. Fifth, psychological capital has a positive effect on both self-leadership and organizational citizenship behavioral behavior-oriented strategy, natural reward strategy, and strategic thinking pattern strategy. The organizational citizenship behavioral relationship was found to have a partial mediating effect. Practical Implications: Taken together, the results indicate that the members of the four public health care organizations run by Chungcheongnam-do have a high weight on the natural reward strategy of achieving job satisfaction through the pleasures of doing their favorite activities or jobs.

취업모의 일-가정 갈등이 심리적 복지감에 미치는 영향에서 배우자지지 및 일-가정양립지원제도의 조절효과 (The moderating effect of spousal support and support systems for work-family compatibility on work-family conflict and psychological well-being of working mothers)

  • The purpose of this study were to explorer the factors affecting the psychological well-being of working mothers and to investigate the moderating effect of spousal support and support systems for work family compatibility on relationship between work-family conflict and psychological well-being. The subjects were 300 working mothers who are aged under 50, have more than one child live in Seoul. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0. The Results are follows. First, the analysis of work-family conflicts, spousal support and support systems for work-family compatibility, and psychological well-being of working mothers indicated that the working mothers perceived family-work conflict to be higher than work-family conflict. The working mothers received stronger support from support systems intended for work-family compatibility than from their spouses. The score of the psychological well-being of the working mothers was 3.27 (standard deviation = .91), which is higher than median. Second, the factors influencing the working mothers' psychological well-being were age, monthly household income, number of children, work${\rightarrow}$family and family${\rightarrow}$work conflict, and spousal support. Greater psychological well-being was linked to a young maternal age, a high monthly household income, a low number of children, low levels of work${\rightarrow}$family and family${\rightarrow}$work conflict, and strong spousal support. Third, spousal support mediated the relationship between family${\rightarrow}$work conflict and psychological well-being.

소상공인 창업자의 심리적 탈진, 일-가정 갈등, 사업운영 불안에 따른 상담요구 분석 (Analysis of Psychological Counseling Requirement of Small Business Owners according to Psychological Exhaustion, Work-Family Conflicts, and Business-Related Anxiety)

  • 본 연구는 소상공인 창업자가 겪고 있는 심리적 탈진감, 일-가정 갈등, 사업운영 불안이 상담요구에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 2016년 1월 1일부터 1월 30일까지 5주간 충남지역에서 소상공업(도 소매업, 음식 숙박업, 서비스업, 제조업)에 종사하는 소상공인을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 설문지는 총 100부를 배포하고 전량을 회수하여 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 분석에는 SPSS v22를 사용하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 소상공인 창업자의 대부분은 상담을 받은 경험이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 연구 대상의 일반적 특성은 심리적 탈진에서 집단 간 차이를 보이지 않았다. 셋째, 사업 기간이 짧을수록 상담요구가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 소상공인 창업자의 지원을 위한 상담 서비스에 대해 적극적인 홍보 노력이 필요하다는 분석이 나왔다. 다섯째, 소상공인 창업자들을 지원하기 위해서는 정서와 같은 심리 내적 요인에 대한 상담과 함께 배우자와 자녀 관련 갈등에 대한 상담 지원이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 소상공인들이 가정의 건강은 물론 지속적인 사업 성장을 위해 상담 서비스가 유용한 도구가 될 수 있을 것이라는 결론에 도달하도록 해준다.

자폐스펙트럼 장애 영유아 어머니의 양육 스트레스 수준에 따른 심리적 증상의 차이 (The Differences of Psychological Symptoms According to the Level of Parenting Stress for Mothers of Infants With Autism Spectrum Disorder)

  • 목적 : 본 연구에서는 자폐스펙트럼 장애(ASD) 영유아의 어머니를 대상으로 양육 스트레스 총점, 부모영역 및 아동영역 수준에 따라 MMPI-2를 통해 어머니가 경험할 수 있는 양육 스트레스 수준에 따른 다양한 심리적 증상의 차이를 검증하였다. 연구방법 : 서울 소재의 종합병원 소아정신과, 재활의학센터, 발달 장애 클리닉 등에서 2010년에서 2015년까지 ASD로 진단을 받은 만 1세에서 5세까지의 영유아 어머니 72명을 대상으로 실시되어 축적된 한국판 부모 양육 스트레스 척도(K-PSI)와 다면적 인성검사 II(MMPI-2) 자료를 최종분석에 사용하였다. 결과 : 양육 스트레스 총점과 부모영역은 MMPI-2의 여러 임상 척도들과 유의한 상관관계를 나타냈지만, 아동영역은 유의한 상관관계를 나타내지 않았다. 또한, 양육 스트레스 총점 수준에 따른 심리적 증상의 차이를 검증한 결과, 위험 수준 집단이 정상 범위 집단보다 MMPI-2의 임상 척도 중 건강염려증(Hs), 우울(D), 편집증(Pa), 강박증(Pt), 조현병(Sc)이 유의하게 높았다. 양육 스트레스 부모영역에서는 위험 수준 집단이 정상 범위 집단보다 MMPI-2의 임상 척도 중 건강염려증(Hs), 우울(D), 히스테리(Hy), 반사회성(Pd), 편집증(Pa), 강박증(Pt), 조현병(Sc), 경조증(Ma), 내향성(Si)이 유의하게 높았다. 반면에 양육 스트레스 아동영역에서 위험 수준 집단과 정상 범위 집단 간의 차이는 유의하지 않았다. 결론 : 양육 스트레스 총점과 부모영역에서 위험 수준 집단의 심리적 증상이 유의하게 높았다는 것을 확인하였다.

예비노인과 노인의 삶의 만족에 관한 연구 (Life Satisfaction of Future Elderly and the Elderly)

  • This study is focused on the levels of life satisfaction influenced by the socio-demographic characteristics, personal activities, personal support and psychological characteristics. We surveyed 504 future elderly people(age between 50 to 64) and the elderly(over 65). The results are as follows; First, future elderly people are more satisfied with their life than the elderly. Second, life satisfaction of the future elderly is rarely influenced by the social demographic characteristics. Whereas, life satisfaction of the elderly is more influenced by the socio-demographic characteristics rather than the personal activities. Supports from neighbors and psychological characteristics are more satisfying their lives. Thus, we should come up with new programs providing opportunities to attend various social activities to maximize their life satisfaction of the future elderly. For the elderly, we need systems to build social network for supports from neighbors and to provide more job opportunities and educating programs.

한국 및 중국 조선족 청소년의 글에 나타난 언어학적, 심리학적 특성 비교 (The Comparison of Linguistic and Psychological Characteristics in the Writing of Korean and Korean-Chinese Adolescents)

  • This study compared the writing of Korean and Korean-Chinese adolescents using K-LIWC (Korean-Linguistic Inquiry Word Count Lee & Yoon, 2005). Three hundred ten (70 : Ulsan, Korea 90 : Yanji, and 150 : Shenyang, China) middle school students wrote a self introductory essay for unknown friends. K-LIWC yielded counts and percentages of word categories using the parts of speech of the Korean language and psychological (emotional, cognitive, sensory/perceptual, social, physical/functional and metaphysical processes) criteria. Results showed that use of pre-noun and present tense correlated with negative mood of the subjects. The writings of Korean-Chinese in Shenyang showed the most negative emotions among the three groups. This was interpreted to be a reflection of better protective factors for Korean-Chinese adolescents in Yanji compared with Shenyang.
