Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate digital interventions on psychological well-being in patients with cancer through an integrated review. Methods: Fifteen studies were selected using PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, DBpia, and RISS. The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network was used by two reviewers to evaluate independently the quality of the selected articles. Results: Digital interventions for improving psychological well-being in cancer patients were most often based on cognitive behavioral therapy alone or a combination of interventions with professionals and other patients. In addition, a number of interventions were established on internet-based mindfulness therapy. Conclusions: Providing cognitive behavioral intervention alone did not significantly improve the level of depression or anxiety of patients with cancer. Meanwhile, interventions, including cognitive behavior therapy and interactions with professionals and other patients, were found to reduce significantly the level of depression or anxiety in the experimental group.

In chronic temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), constituent tissues such as muscles are sensitive to pain and psychological stress, which negatively affect the quality of life. In addition, since chronic TMDs is often accompanied by diseases such as psychological disorders and other chronic pain disorders, the diagnosis of those diseases and patient referrals are mandatory. The management of chronic pain in TMDs requires a multidisciplinary and holistic approach. Pharmacological therapy using cyclobenzaprine, serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, progressive relaxation, and psychological approaches using cognitive behavioral therapy such as shifting negative thoughts about pain are all valid treatment options.

All the required assessments for the study were performed after and before 16 week group therapy intervention. Results: Initially we had taken 21 women but 16 participated in all therapy programs and submitted questionnaires. The mean age was 47.8 years. There were significant differences between before and after group therapy program. Anxiety, depression, and distress showed significant improvements. Hopelessness scale was detected at the border of significance. There was no change in sleep problems and quality of life. According to the analysis of correlation, considering the age factor and year of diagnosis, there was found no statistically significant relationship between anxiety, distress, depression, hopelessness, sleeplessness, and quality of life. Conclusions: This pilot study demonstrated that brief, predominantly group therapy is feasible for patients with breast cancer and, also it may be helpful to cope with emotional and physical distress.

Result: Among the 57 published researches on music therapy, 47 (82.5%) were dissertations and 10 (17.5%) were published articles. Among the 57 researches, 55 (96.5%) were experiential researches and 2 (3.5%) were non-experimental researches. Surgical patients were the most popular subject for researches. The number of subject was a minimum of 7 people and maximum of 143 people. Listening to music 41 (74.5%) was the most popular program for music therapy. Among 55 researches, 33 (60.0%) had a music therapy session of 25-60 minutes and this was the most popular time duration of therapy. Among all the 108 dependent variables, 57 (52.8%) were psychological variables, 40 (37.0%) were physical variables and 11 (10.2%) were social-cognitive variables. Conclusion: There is an urgent need to develop systematic music therapy programs with different nursing interventions, as based on theories and principles while considering the physical, psychological, and social characteristic of the subjects.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations between pain intensity, physical impairments, disability, and psychological factors according to the difference in duration of low back pain. This study was a cross-sectional survey of 102 participants with low back pain, divided into two groups equal in number: The first group consisted of patients with acute and subacute low back pain, while the second group consisted of patients suffering from chronic low back pain. The results showed that gender, age, pain intensity, physical impairment, disability and Fear-Avoidance Beliefs (FABs) for work activities were not significantly different between two groups. FABs for physical activities of the first group were significantly more prevalent than in the second group. More than moderate correlations were found between pain intensity, physical impairment, and disability in the first group. Less than moderate correlations were found between pain intensity, physical impairment, disability, FABs, and depression in the second group. These findings suggest that we must consider psychological factors in the treatment of patients with chronic low back pain. Regression analyses revealed that pain intensity and FABs for work activities significantly contributed to the prediction of disability in the first group. Also, pain intensity and FABs for physical activities significantly contributed to the prediction of disability in the second group. Pain intensity was most important predictor of disability in two groups.

In comparison between two groups, the experimental group showed more significant difference in BBS, MBI and BDI than the control group (p<0.05).
