Effects of Psychological Capitals of Hotel Employees' on Organizational Commitments -Focused on Mediating Effect of Psychological Ownerships- (호텔 종사원의 심리적자본이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 -심리적 주인의식의 매개효과를 중심으로-)

  • This study aimed to explore the impacts of psychological capitals on the psychological ownerships and organizational commitments by employees in deluxe hotel located in Seoul. And also the mediating effects of psychological ownerships by employees on the relationships between psychological capitals and organizational commitments in hotel firms. The results of this study are, psychological capitals direct impacts on psychological ownerships and organizational commitments. And psychological ownerships influence mediating effects between psychological capitals and organizational commitments. The results of this study suggests that to build organizational behaviors management systems on emphasizing of the importance of psychological capitals and the importance of psychological ownerships by employees on intense competing environments in hotel industry for competitive advantages.

Influences of Social Capitals Affecting Self-esteem and Psychological Wellbeing of the elderly (노인의 사회자본이 자존감과 심리적 복지감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to study the relation between the social capitals and self esteem, psychological wellbeing of the elderly. This study took a questionnaire survey to 162 elderly persons over 65 years old in Busan Metropolitan City. The results of the impact of social capitals upon mental health of the elderly were as follows. For the social capitals and self esteem, formal reliability, formal network and the norm, women had significantly positive(+) impact on self esteem. For the social capitals and psychological wellbeing, formal reliability, women had significantly positive(+) impact on psychological wellbeing, while the norm had significantly negative (-) impact on psychological wellbeing. Based on such results, this study suggested meaning and necessity to construct the social capitals and its activation for the improvement of psychological health of the elderly. Finally, it remarked the limits of the study and the suggestions for the further research direction.

Effects of Positive Psychological Capitals on Service Quality and Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction in Professional Care Workers (요양보호사의 긍정심리자본이 서비스 질에 미치는 영향과 직무만족의 매개효과 검증)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data in order to improve service quality based on empirical analyses about a relationship among positive psychological capitals, service quality, and job satisfaction of professional care workers under the Long-Term Care Insurance in South Korea. In this study, total 430 numbers of the workers who were currently working in nursing homes for the elderly at the cities of Ansan, Anyang, Bucheon, and Kwangmyeong in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, participated in self-report questionnaires. Only 393 questionnaires were used for the final analyses after excluding the ones that neither were not returned nor didn't completed it all. These are major results. First, positive psychological capitals affect positively on service quality. Second, job satisfaction works as a mediating effect in the process of positive psychological capitals affect on service quality. Based on above results, it is possible to suggest it as down below. First, it is required to have policies that will be helpful for both positive psychological capitals and capacity building through human resource management in systematic approaches. Second, it is also required to acknowledge that having positive psychological capitals is effective to improve both their job satisfaction and service quality. Therefore, it is necessary to change environmental circumstances in relevant institutions where this acknowledgement will be applied.

Effects of peer teaching on self-leadership, psychological capitals and learning satisfaction among nursing freshmen (동료교수활동이 간호학과 신입생의 셀프리더십, 심리역량 및 학업만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this primitive experimental study was to find the effects of peer teaching on self-leadership, psychological capitals(hereafter, psycap) and learning satisfaction of nursing freshmen. The data measured before and after 12 times peer teaching for 30 minutes were analyzed with SPSS 21 for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and paired t-test. There were significant increases in academic satisfaction of low subjective school grades group, and in resilience of below average prefer discussion group before and after treatment. There were significant differences in self-leadership and psycap before and after treatment(p=.002, p=.044), confidence and resilience among sub-domains of psycap increased significantly(p=.006, p=.015). Finally, peer teaching have increased self-leadership and psycap of nursing freshmen. Therefore, further studies are proposed to apply various types of peer teaching in nursing curriculum.

Research on Positive Psychological Capitals of the Elderly Physical Director for the Activation of the Elderly Sports (노인체육 활성화를 위한 노인체육지도자의 긍정심리자본에 관한 연구)

  • To identify the influence of senior sports instructor's positive psychological capital on organizational performance, job engagement, and innovative behavior, this study conducted a research on 227 senior sports instructors at 5 sports centers and senior sports centers in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Incheon regions. The research results were as follows. First, positive psychological capital of senior sports instructors had a significant influence on all sub-factors of organizational performance. Secondly, positive psychological capital of senior sports instructors had a significant influence on all sub-factors of job engagement. Third, positive psychological capital of senior sports instructors had a significant influence on innovative behavior. Thus, this study verified that positive psychological capital is an important variable for enhancing organization performance, job engagement, and innovative behavior of group members. In addition, this study holds a great significance in proving positive psychological capital's positive influence on working environment of senior sports instructors.

Convergence Factors Influencing the Quality of Life in the Elderly People Living Alone (독거노인의 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 융복합적 요인)

  • In this study, the correlation between convergence factors including social, environmental, psychological and physical factors and the health-related quality of life was examined using a structural equation model to find a practical alternative for improving the quality of life in the elderly people living alone. This study targeted 13,771 seniors from single households aged 65 and over, who were subject to the community health survey in 2014. Social capitals, stress, subjective health conditions and EQ-5D of the subjects were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0. The analysis findings are as follows. The results of the model fit was good value with CFI=.906, GFI=.955, RMSEA=.074. In conclusion, these results demonstrate that for maintaining health and improving the quality of life in the elderly people living alone, families and local communities need to increase social capitals by providing care service for the elderly people living alone and grounds that they can participate in.

A Study of the Relationship between Positive Psychological Capital and Teaching Professionalism of Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers: An Analysis of the Mediating Effect of Passion for Teaching (예비유아교사의 긍정심리자본이 교사전문성에 미치는 영향 : 교직에 대한 열정의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among positive psychological capital, teacher professionalism, and passion for teaching of pre-service early childhood teachers. Specifically, this study investigated the mediating effect of passion for teaching on the relationship between positive psychological capital and teaching professionalism of pre-service early childhood teachers. The study participants were 198 pre-service early childhood teachers. Questionnaire were used to collect data. Data were analyzed using descriptive statics, Pearson correlation, multiple regression, and Sobel test for mediating effect. The results of the study were as follows: First, it was found that pre-service early childhood teachers had relatively high level of positive psychological capital, teacher professionalism, and passion for teaching. Second, there was a significant positive correlation between positive psychological capital, teacher professionalism, and passion for teaching of pre-service early childhood teachers. Third, the mediation effect of passion for teaching of per-service early childhood teachers between positive psychological capital and teacher professionalism was found to be partially significant. This result implies that positive psychological capitals and passion for teaching are to be effective to improve teaching professionalism of per-service early childhood teachers. The results of this study provides basic data on an early childhood teacher training program in improving teaching professionalism.

A Study on the Influence of Positive Psychological Capital on the Organizational Identification and the Loafing Behaviors with Job Satisfaction as a Mediator (긍정심리자본이 직무만족을 매개로 조직동일시와 태만행동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This Study is to Analyze the Positive Psychological Capital(self-efficacy, optimism, hope, resilience) on the Organizational Identification and the Loafing Behaviors with Job Satisfaction as a Mediator. By doing this, it is also to Comprehensively Understand how Positive Psychological Capital Affects the Organizational Identification and the Loafing Behaviors. An Empirical Analysis has been Conducted through the Covariance Structural Equation Model Targeting the Financial Industry in Busan. The Results of this Empirical Analysis are as Follows. Firstly, Self-Efficacy, Optimism, hope, and Resilience Among the Positive Psychological Capitals are Found to have a Positive(+) Significant Effect on Job Satisfaction, of Which hope is Found to have the Greatest Effect on it. On the other Hand, Optimism is Found not to have a Significant Effect on Job Satisfaction. Secondly, job Satisfaction is Found to have a Positive(+) Significant on the Organizational Identification. Thirdly, job Satisfaction is found to have a negative(-) significant on the loafing behaviors. Fourthly, the results of investigating the mediating effect of job satisfaction in the relation of positive psychological capital, organizational identification, and loafing behaviors show that all have a mediating effect except for the mediating effect of job satisfaction in the relation of hope and loafing behaviors. Finally, the summary, suggestions, limit, and the direction for future researches are presented.
