Purpose: The purpose of this study is to discover the nature from the life experience of a person with unilateral acquired blindness and his/her family after losing the eyesight and adapting in the environment and to find the meaning of life and how to solve the problem in psychosocial aspect. Methods: This study uses one of the qualitative research methods which explains how families with the unilateral acquired blind perceive blindness after experiencing it and observes how they signify it. starts with interest in lifestyles of individuals and their families and tries to understand the subjective existences of participants in accessible ways and draw the experiences after becoming one-side blind. It cyclically uses deductive verification process through inductive method and establishing hypothesis using materials. Results: According to the results of this study, unilateral acquired blindness studies, due to shattered life, they did not know what to do. Also, discomfort from struggling in a big tunnel and even will to live were found. trying to go out to the world, seeing the new world, and trying to encourage myself, strong attachment to life was shown to by saying, appeared. Each includes sub-topics such as feeling abandoned after confirmed the blindness, feeling disappointed to doctors, family, and friends, trying to live with hope, struggling in a tunnel with thinking how to live, closing the mind from the world, seeing outside the world in the midst of struggling, trying to forget the past with the will of life, having hope to live with care of family, and trying to keep the rest vision. Conclusion: Firstly, in nursing aspect for their adaptation, programs for disable people and nursing intervention focused on their families should be developed. Secondly, since it can be economic and psychological burden for their families and acquaintances, it is necessary to support the blind so that they can find fitted rehabilitation programs and come back to society. Thirdly, active participation of health care providers may influence social interest the improvement of national welfare policy for the unilateral acquired blind.
The purpose of this study was to examine the abuse experience of adolescents in out-of-home care on their psychosocial adjustment and the mediating effects of self-regulation skills. A survey was conducted on the adolescents who resided in the city of Busan and received out-of-home care service. The findings of the study were as follows: First, abuse experience was found to have exerted a negative influence on self-regulation skills. Second, abuse experience was found to have exerted a negative influence on psychosocial adjustment. Third, self-regulation skills were found to have exercised a positive influence on psychosocial adjustment. Fourth, self-regulation skills were found to have had a mediating effect on the relationship between abuse experience and psychosocial adjustment. The findings of this study were of significance in that neglect and emotional abuse should be prevented to promote the psychosocial adjustment of teenagers with abuse experience who are in out-of-home care, and in that the importance of the intervention of counseling programs which could foster the self-regulation skills of adolescents was urged.
Purpose: This study was attempted to see the trends in breast cancer researches in Korea. Method: We collected a total of 94 articles associated with breast cancer and published in Korea from 1976 to August 2004 and analyzed the characteristics of those articles, the journals which published those articles in each year, the research designs, subjects, intervention effects in experimental studies, the subjects and concept distribution in comparative researches and themes of the articles. Result: 1. Articles published and associated with breast cancer have increased since 1990 and picked after 2000. 2. Most research designs are survey and correlation studies which are non-experimental research(70.2%) and next are experimental and qualitative researches. 3. In a total 17 articles which are experimental researches, intervention studies which use exercise programs are most(5 articles) and the next are education program, supportive nursing intervention, guided imagery, massage and rehabilitation programs. 4. In correlational researches, concepts such like social-psychological adaptation, partner support, health promotion behavior and family support are treated frequently. 5. Subjects in most comparative studies are patients with breast cancer and normal women. 6. Most nursing research themes are psycho/spiritual problems, 16 articles(17.0%). Conclusion: These results show that the researches related with breast cancer have actively increased and body functions and psycho-social variables have been improved through nursing intervention. Therefore, it seems that more systematic interdisciplinary studies and systematic complement are necessary for future breast cancer nursing researches.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of neurofeedback training for reducing stress and enhancing self-regulation in late adolescence to identify the possibility of use for nursing intervention. Methods: A nonequivalent control group pre-post quasi-experimental design was used. Participants were 78 late adolescents assigned to the experimental group (n=39) that received the neurofeedback training and the control group (n=39). Data were collected on heart rate variability (HRV) and skin conductance level (SCL) to assess stress-biomarker response. The questionnaire contained 164 items from: Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), Symptom Checklist-90-Revised (SCL-90-R) and Self-regulatory Ability scale. The neurofeedback training was based on the general adaptation syndrome and body-mind medicine. The intervention was conducted in a total of 10 sessions for 30 minutes per session with high-beta, theta and sensory motor rhythm training on scalp at central zero. Results: There were significant difference in standard deviation of normal to normal interval (p=.036) in HRV and SCL (p=.029) of stress-biomarker response between the two groups. Negative affect (p=.036) in PANAS and obsessive compulsive (p=.023) and depression (p<.001) in SCL-90-R were statistically significant. Self-regulation mode (p=.004) in self-regulation ability scale showed a significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: The results indicated that the neurofeedback training is effective in stress-biomarkers, psychoemotional stress response and self-regulation. Therefore, neurofeedback training using neuroscientific approach based on brain-mind-body model can be used as an effective nursing intervention for late adolescents in clinics and communities for effective stress responses.
The purpose of this research is to examine the effect EVE about culture & art education and social tendencies have on adult educatees eliminating controlled mechanisms. Quantitative research on those in their 40s and 50s was executed. The results show that there is a high correlation between GEVE and individualism, REVE and collectivism. GEVE has a higher influence on actualization of self-efficiency, FEVE on reignition of retained desires, REVE on substantialization of non-isolation, individualism on actualization of self-efficiency, and collectivism on substantialization of non-isolation. This research evokes the importance of an interdisciplinary and integrated understanding of EVE in culture & art education, educatees' social tendencies, and their psychological mechanisms. Also, it suggests the necessity of following research and practical adaptation related to developing programs, securing quantitative and qualitative appropriateness reflecting social requirements, and operation, evaluation, and management considering reciprocality.
This case study was to report the possible increase in the denture retention and psychological relief using the implant-supported fixed prostheses in a completely edentulous patient. The implants were placed in the anterior portion of the mandible in a patient who had completely edentulous state following the extraction of residual abutment teeth, and consequently a distal extension removable partial denture was fabricated. The patient's adaptation and satisfaction to the new prosthesis was monitored and confirmed in terms of masticatory function and esthetics, by restoring the oral condition similar to initial status before the residual teeth extraction. After 6 months, radiographic examination confirmed that both the abutment teeth and the implants were stable and well maintained. Considering the relatively short clinical follow-up period, however, continuous long-term monitoring was required.

Purpose: Bullying is a global problem, and various programs are under way to prevent it. The purpose of this study was to review school bullying interventions for Korean school-age children and adolescents. Methods: Online databases such as RISS, KISS, DBpia, NDSL and KMBASE were searched, identifying 32 intervention studies published from January 2009 to November 2018. Results: Thirty-two intervention studies were identified: 23 included school bullying prevention and 9 included school bullying treatment for victims or youth at high risk for bullying. The main purpose of preventive intervention was to decrease the bystander's attitude toward group bullying and treatment program was to improve the psychosocial adaptation of bullying victims. The school bullying interventions varied from group counseling, social skills training, art therapy, bibliotherapy using role-play, game & activities. Classroom environment variables and self-esteem, peer-related variables improved significantly after the school bullying prevention programs and school bullying treatment programs, respectively. Conclusion: There is potential for enhancing the outcomes of the behavioral, interpersonal psychological variable. Integrated interventions considering the individuality, gender and physical health of children and adolescents will also be needed. However, a rigorous study design is required to compensate for the methodological limitations.
The primary purpose of this study is to examine empirically the effect of the organizational characteristics in the vessel with foreign crews on their self-efficacy and organization commitment. Currently, the restrictions on the employment of the foreign crews are being eased in the Korean shipping industry and many problems are occurring consequently. However, specific and empirical studies on the relevancy of organizational characteristics to the crew's self-efficacy and organizational commitment on board the vessels with combined crews have not yet been carried out. To solve these problems, we examined how the organizational characteristics such as communication and leadership trust of different language and culture related to vessels with combined crews influence on the self-efficacy, job satisfaction and organizational commitment of the foreign crews through SEM analysis. According to the results, hypothesis 1, 2 and 3 were all supported with statistical significance. That means that communication and leadership trust of the vessel with foreign crew had positive effects on their self-efficacy and that such self-efficacy also had a positive effect on the organizational commitment and job satisfaction. To conclude, this study suggests that foreign crew's self-efficacy should be firstly enhanced in order to improve organizational commitment on the vessel with combined crews. Furthermore, studies on self-efficacy of foreign crew's organization are urgently needed to enhance the effectiveness of an organization in a vessel with combined crews that has special environment - working environment with depression and uneasiness due to the exposure to the different language and culture, and excessive stress from the social and psychological adaptation. Therefore, an attempt of this study is considered to be timely since there has not been a study on this subject so far and result of this study will contribute a lot to the organization management of a vessel with combined crews.

According to the increase of the remarried family, education programs are needed to help the adaptation of them. The purpose of this study is to analyze remarriage preparations and to present considerations for the development of remarriage educational program in the future. Through analysis of total nine existing remarriage programs, there are needs to consider the following factors when developing remarriage programs. There is a need to be developed and implemented various programs to adequately support the remarried family. Also need to have a system that help adaption. As a result of research, future remarried program shall be as follows. First, the educational content consists of differency depending on the type of remarriage. Second, we should develop program avoiding the problem-oriented perspective, focus on the enhancements remarried families and address the adaptive factors. Third, psychological support counseling programs should be included. Remarriage Preparation measurement Scale is utilized and children is included in programs.
Instagram, a photo and image centered social networking service, has received increasing attention these days, from scholars and practitioners. However, little is known about the social and psychological factors that lead consumers to use this service. To provide a baseline understanding on Instagram users, the current study was conducted to discover perfectionistic self-presentation tendency expressed by the Instagram users and explore the relationships between identified perfectionistic self-presentation and intention to use Instagram variables with 250 participants. In addition, this study tried to determine the moderator effect of self-efficacy and self-construal. A comprehensive survey was directed and a total of 380 participants were recruited to verify anticipated hypotheses and research questions. The research results suggest that perfectionistic self-presentation has five sub factors: others conscious self-presentation, subjective self-presentation, environmental adaptation self-presentation, self-expansion self-presentation, and social self-presentation. The implications of this research findings are discussed.
