Provisioning service, which is one of the ecosystem service functions, means goods and services such as food and fuel that people get from ecosystem. Provisioning functions are closely related to the primary industry, a sector of economy. Excessive demand and use of human society can cause trade-offs among regulation, cultural, and supporting services. Therefore, it is important to perform evaluation ecosystem services periodically and to monitor the time series fluctuations to identify the impact of provisioning services on other ecosystem services (trade-off) and to maintain sustainable provisioning service. When it comes to the precise assessment of provisioning service, it is necessary to get the statistical data and standardize indicators and methods. In this study, indicators and methods, which are applicable to the spatial level of national-local-protected areas, were derived through literature analysis and expert survey. The result of this study implies that provisioning services measurement by spatial level improve the efficiency of the establishment of environmental conservation plans by whose purpose.

The architecture in a differentiated services (DiffServ) network is based on a simple model that applies a per-class service in the core node of the network. However, because the network behavior is simple, the network structure and provisioning is complicated. If a service provider wants dynamic provisioning or a better bandwidth guarantee, the differentiated services network must use a signaling protocol with QoS parameters or an admission control method. Unfortunately, these methods increase the complexity. To overcome the problems with complexity, we investigated scalable dynamic provisioning for admission control in DiffServ networks. We propose a new scalable $qDPM^2$ mechanism based on a centralized bandwidth broker and distributed measurement-based admission control and movable boundary bandwidth management to support heterogeneous QoS requirements in DiffServ networks.

This paper considers the Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning mechanisms for the WDM burst switched ring networks. The loss-sensitive service and the delay-sensitive service are discussed. Considering their different requirements, different QoS provisioning schemes are proposed to provision them respectively. The proposed schemes are evaluated through simulation results.

In a day and age when contemporary businesses are transformed, driven by a service-dominance logic and dependent upon IT, we need to understand how firms cope with technological adaptations and how such technological adaptations can lead to service adaptations. Drawing on a framework on technological transitions and an interpretive longitudinal case study of the services provided by a team within a large public IT firm, this article addresses the following questions : How do service transitions come about? Can we distinguish particular patterns in service transition processes? This research unveils how technological and social dimensions mutually constitute each other within development and implementation of service provisioning. The findings show how：(a) IT plays a fundamental role in service provisioning; (b) technological transitions are the necessary but insufficient preconditions for service transitions; and (c) there are attenuation effects when it comes to the move from technology transition to service transition.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경은 디지털 시대의 새로운 패러다임으로서 급격한 사회 문화의 변화에 대응하기 위해 도입될 수 밖에 없는 흐름이다. 현재 세계 각국의 기술 연구는 핵심 기술의 선점뿐만 아니라 보다 지능화, 고도화된 상황인지 서비스 제공을 위한 기술 개발에 집중되고 있으며, 최근에는 온톨로지를 이용한 지능형 프로비저닝 시스템을 구현하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 현재까지의 프로비저닝 기술 시스템은 사용자의 적합한 상황을 인식한 뒤 서비스를 제공하는 개인 맞춤형 서비스를 제공해주지는 못하고 있다. 따라서, 사용자에게 필요한 환경과 상황이 고려된 지능형 상황인지 프로비저닝 기법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 요구에 최적화된 서비스를 제공하기 위해 사용자의 상황과 사용 패턴을 고려한 온톨로지 기반의 지능형 프로비저닝 서비스 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 사용자의 상황을 인식하고 그에 적합한 추천을 위해 이에 따른 추론 기술이 이루어지는 과정을 보여주고 있으며, 지능확장이 가능하도록 하였다.

호스(Hose) 모델 기반 VPN(Virtual Private Network) QoS(Quality of Service)를 지원하기 위한 자원준비(Provisioning) 메커니즘들 가운데, VPN 차원 상태 정보(VPN-specific state) 자원준비는 서비스 제공자에게 높은 다중화(Multiplexing) 이점을 제공한다는 장점을 가진다. 그러나, VPN 차원 상태 정보 자원준비를 위한 적합한 자원예약 프로토콜이 없기 때문에 VPN 차원 상태 정보 자원준비를 위한 동적 자동 자원예약이 어렵다. 또한, VPN 차원 상태 정보 자원준비에 의해 예약된 자원은 LAN에 접속되어 있는 호스트들이 LAN 대역폭을 공유하는 것과 유사한 방식으로 동일한 VPN에 속하는 사용자들이 공유하기 때문에 동일한 VPN에 속하는 사용자 간에 불공정한 자원 사용이 발생할 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 VPN 차원 상태 정보 자원준비에 따라 동적 자동 자원 예약을 수행할 수 있도록 하는 자원예약 프로토콜을 제안하고, 혼잡 발생 시에 동일한 VPN에 속하는 사용자 간에 예약된 자원을 공정하게 사용할 수 있도록 하는 트래픽 서비스 메커니즘을 제안한다.

클라우드 서비스는 다양한 장점들 덕분에 현대 IT 사업에서 주목을 받고 있다. 클라우드 환경에서 사용자의 요구는 동적이기 때문에 서비스 제공자는 사용자 요구량을 예측하고 이를 기반으로 자원을 제공하는 VM(Virtual Machine) 프로비저닝 기법이 필요하다. VM 프로비저닝은 사용자의 QoS를 만족시키고 자원 관리 비용을 최소화하여 서비스 제공자의 이득을 최대화하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 VM 프로비저닝을 위해 사용자의 자원 요구량을 예측하고, 이를 기반으로 서비스 제공자의 총 경비에 대한 기대 값을 최소화시키기 위한 새로운 VM 프로비저닝 기법을 제안한다. 또한 제안 기법의 성능 분석을 위하여 실제 데이터를 이용하여 자원 요구 예측량과 자원 제공량을 계산하고, 이를 다른 기법들과 비교함으로써 제안 기법이 서비스 제공자의 총 경비를 최소화함을 보여준다.

클라우드 컴퓨팅은 융통성 있는 연산능력과 대량의 데이터를 분석하는 효과적인 환경을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 공용 클라우드를 위한 새로운 타입의 자원 배치 구조를 정의하고 이를 PCIA라고 명명한다. 아울러, PCIA 구조에서 서비스 모델에 대해 소개하며, 이를 위한 클라우드 명명 기법도 제시한다. 제안된 클라우드 시스템은 어플리케이션의 다양한 특징에 따라 사용자의 가상 자원 요구에 기반하는 적절한 물리적 자원을 선택하게 된다. 이를 통해 자원 제공의 변화에 따른 성능 변화의 연관성 및 클라우드 시스템의 효과적 구축을 위한 시스템 구성 요소의 영향도를 분석하며, 클라우드 서비스 제공자와 사용자 양쪽 모두에게 중요한 리소스 프로비져닝의 주요 기준을 제시한다.

Fault management of virtualized network environments using user-driven network provisioning systems (NPSs) is crucial for guaranteeing seamless virtual network services irrespective of physical infrastructure impairment. The network service interface (NSI) of the Open Grid Forum reflects the need for a common standard management API for the reservation and provisioning of user-driven virtual circuits (VCs) across global networks. NSI-based NPSs (that is, network service agents) can be used to compose user-driven VCs for mission-critical applications in a dynamic multi-domain. In this article, we first attempt to outline the design issues and challenges faced when attempting to provide mission-critical applications using dynamic VCs with a protection that is both user-driven and trustworthy in a dynamic multi-domain environment, to motivate work in this area of research. We also survey representative works that address inter-domain VC protection and qualitatively evaluate them and current NSI against the issues and challenges.

IPTV 서비스의 활성화를 위해 IPTV 단말의 사업자 이동성 확보 방법이 제기되었다. 사업자 이동성이 확보되면 서비스 이용자가 IPTV 단말을 시중에서 직접 구매 후 자신이 서비스를 제공받고자 하는 사업자를 스스로 선택하여 IPTV 서비스를 제공받을 수 있다. 이를 위해, IPTV 단말은 서비스를 제공받기 전 일련의 프로비저닝(provisioning) 과정을 거쳐야 한다. 한국정보통신기술협회(이하 TTA)는 IPTV 단말의 프로비저닝 절차에 관한 표준 기술 규격인 TTAK.KO-08.0026을 제정하였다. 본 논문에서는 이의 개정 문서인 TTAK.KO-08.0026/R2의 내용과 그에 기반하여 구현한 IPTV 단말 프로비저닝 시스템의 구성, 기능, 동작 절차, 파라미터 및 이슈 사항 등에 관해 소개하고, IPTV 단말 프로비저닝 절차의 파급 효과와 표준화의 발전 방향에 대해 논하고자 한다.
