부분적으로 자기장에 노출된 굴곡형 스프링을 이용한 대변위 전자기력 구동기 (Large-Displacement Electromagnetic Actuators with the Meander Springs Partially Exposed to Magnetic Field)

  • 본 논문에서는 대변위 구동이 가능한 구동기의 설계를 위해 기존의 전자기력 구동기에 비해 낮은 스프링 상수를 갖는 굴곡형 스프링을 적용하고, 변위가 발생하는 방향으로만 로렌츠힘이 생기도록 굴곡형 스프링의 일부분만 자기장에 노출시키는 구동기를 제안한다. 굴곡형 스프링의 양쪽 부재가 자기장에 노출된 구조(prototype F)와 굴곡형 스프링의 한쪽 부재만을 자기장에 노출시킨 구조(prototype P)를 설계하고, 제작하여 실험한 결과 prototype P 가 굴곡형 스프링의 양쪽 부재를 자기장에 노출시킨 prototype F의 구동성능에 비해 $16.9{\pm}1.2%$의 진폭 증가를 보임을 실험적으로 검증하였다. 제안된 구동기는 제한된 면적 내에서 작은 전류(<50mA)와 작은 자기장(<0.3T)으로 대변위 구동을 가능케 하여 광 스위치 또는 광 단속기 등에 응용이 가능하다.

  • Modern electric controlled valves are demanded that its solenoid actuator should be smaller size, lighter weight, lower consumption power, and higher response time. For achieving these purposes, the major design factors of solenoid actuator such as magnetic flux density, coil turn numbers, plunger size, bobbin dimension, and etc. are must be optimized. In this study, for optimal design of high speed solenoid actuator for hydraulic servo valve operation, we draw up governing equations which are composed by combination of electromagnetic theories and empirical knowledge, and deduct the values of major design factors by use of them. For more increase the operating speed, voice coil are used as main armature in manufacturing of prototype actuator. And, we have proven the propriety of the governing equations and speed increasing method by experiments using the hydraulic valve assembly adopted the prototype of solenoid actuator.

프로젝션 TV용 틸팅 액추에이터의 동특성 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of a Tilting Actuator for a Projection TV)

  • A dynamic analysis of a tilting actuator for a projection TV is presented in this study. Severe vibration of a tilting actuator deteriorates the video quality of a projection TV. For this reason, a dynamic analysis of the tilting actuator system is essential to improve the video quality. The dynamic behaviors of the mirror reactive-type tilting actuator are examined in order to obtain design requirements of the lens transmissive-type tilting actuator. Based on these design requirements, a basic design is performed for the lens transmissive-type tilting actuator. With the basic design, the dynamic characteristics of the lens transmissive-type actuator are investigated by the finite element analysis After the prototype of the actuator is manufactured, the dynamic behaviors of the prototype are examined by experiments. As a result of this study, a new design for the hinge configuration of the actuator is suggested for better performance.

  • This paper describes a lens transmissive type tilting actuator for a projection TV. An electromagnetic analysis and a structural analysis of the tilting actuator system is necessary to design a tilting actuator for a projection TV. The tilting actuator is composed a permanent magnet, coil and yoke as the electromagnetic components and it needs a driving hinge part as the mechanical component. The design of the tilting actuator for the projection TV is performed by the following procedure. Firstly, a magnetic flux density of the tilting actuator system is analyzed by a mathematical theory and an electromagnetic FEM. Secondary, a magnetic circuit method is used to determine tilting force. Thirdly, the structural FEM is carried out with an FE model of a lens-transmissive type tilting actuator and then the prototype of the model is manufactured. The characteristic of the prototype is experimentally observed. Finally, a design for a new hinge configuration is suggested for better performance.

  • This study deals with the microvalve, which is composed of the multilayer bender type PZT actuator, actuator controller and microvalve body. The object of this study is to develope the microvalve with multilayer bender type PZT actuator. In order to achieve this object, prototype PZT actuator and microvalve were suggested and manufactured. Also, the performance of this model was evaluated through the experiments.

  • Electromagnetic valve (EMV) actuation system is a new technology for improving fuel efficiency and at the same time reducing omissions in internal combustion engines. It can provide more flexibility in valve event control compared with conventional variable valve actuation devices. The electromagnetic valve actuator must be designed by taking the operating conditions and engine geometry limits of the internal combustion engine into account. To help develop a simple design method, this paper presents a procedure for determine the basic design parameters and dimensions of the actuator from the relations of the valve dynamics, electromagnetic circuit and thermal loading condition based on the lumped method. To verify the accuracy of the lumped method analysis, experimental study is also carried out on a prototype actuator. It is found that there is a relatively good agreement between the experimental data and the results of the proposed design procedure. Through the whole speed range, the actuator maintains proper performances in valve timing and event control.

  • A household gas valve is used for flow control of LPG(Liquefied Petroleum Gas) or LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) of which pressure is about $200mmH_2O(\fallingdotseq\;0.0196[bar])$. Currently, two kinds of valves such as rotary type and button type are widely used in many applications. But, these valves have some problems that they are not controllable and reliable. Piezo actuation combined with modem microelectronics provides a reliable, quiet, low energy, infinitely adjustable gas valve. In this paper, gas valve using piezo actuator which are bimorph and a circle type was studied. Also, Prototype for gas valve was manufactured and characteristics of the prototype gas valve were analyzed.

DEVELOPMENT OF AUTOMATIC CLUTCH ACTUATOR FOR AUTOMATED MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS

  • With the growing traffic density and increasing comfort requirements, the automation of the drive train has gained importance in vehicles. The automatic clutch actuation relieves a driver especially in urban and stop-and-go traffic environments. In this paper, an electro-mechanical actuator for clutch-by-wire (CBW) system is implemented as the first stage for the development of automated manual transmissions. The prototype of the automatic clutch actuator is designed systematically, which is composed of the electric motor, worm and worm wheel, and crank mechanism. A test rig is developed to perform the basic function test for the automatic clutch actuation. The developed prototype is validated by the experimental results performed on the test rig.

  • This paper describes an application of an air-pulse actuator for vibration control of a framed structure. Dynamic characteristics of the prototype actuator that utilizes an air-jet reaction force pulsated by an electromagnetic valve were investigated to use it as a control actuator. Using a control law based on the sliding mode control theory, experiments of the vibration control were carried out. The experimental results verified the validity of the actuator performance.

  • The two prototypes of a Wheel Type Locomotive Mechanism Using Micro motor for a Capsule-Type Endoscope are outlined and realized. Basic concept of these mechanisms is to use a rod-shaped wheel, with which these mechanisms can go over the haustral folds inside colon. The actuator of Prototype I is geared dc motor and the actuator for steering is Shape Memory Alloy. Prototype I goes through the whole area of colonoscopy training model. Prototype II can not only go forward and backward, but also be steerable with 2 geared dc motors. Prototype II goes through dead pig colon.
