We had designed and constructed floating type photovoltaic energy generation system. In this paper, we present the result of investigations pertaining to the development of links between unit modules of the floating type photovoltaic energy generation system. The link system installed between the unit modules is made of pultruded FRP, tire, and polyethilene synthetic fiber rope. The link system is analized by the finite element method. The floating type photovoltaic energy generation system consisted of unit modules connected by link system is installed successfully at sea site. In addition, we present the modified design of the floating type photovoltaic energy generation system based on the proto type system.

The balcony of our apartment building consists of unique construction similar to double skin. It is announced broadly that double skin is very effective system in improvement of natural ventilation and indoor thermal environment, and outdoor sound protection. So, for the improvement of indoor climate and energy saving, many peoples studied about environmental performance of our balcony construction. This study focus on shaft box facade, special form of box window construction. It consists of a system of box window with continuous vertical shafts that extend over a number of stories to create a stack effect. Proto-type was decided by analyzing various types of exiting apartments. Shaft box type balcony was created by setting up shaft space at a part of balcony. Air flow and contribution of air temperature were simulated, performance of shaft box type balcony was compared with existing balcony. Finally, we confirmed that shaft box type balcony has many possibility for improvement of indoor environment.

This paper presents a disk-type capacitive sensor for simultaneous measurement of five-dimensional motions of a target. The sensor can be manufactured with a printed circuit board (PCB) such that the sensor can be integrated with its electronics in a single PCB board, whereby the manufacturing costs is considerably reduced. The sensor is optimally designed through an error analysis of possible mechanical errors. Furthermore, the sensor can correct the horizontal motion measurement errors due to the sensor installation tilting error. A proto-type PCB sensor, electronics and a test rig were built, and the effectiveness of the developed sensor was proved through experiments.

We develop a proto-model of an off-axis reflective telescope for infrared wide-field observations based on the design of Schwarzschild-Chang type telescope. With only two mirrors, this design achieves an entrance pupil diameter of 50 mm and an effective focal length of 100 mm. We can apply this design to a mid-infrared telescope with a field of view of $8^{\circ}{\times}8^{\circ}$. In spite of the substantial advantages of off-axis telescopes in the infrared compared to refractive or on-axis reflective telescopes, it is known to be difficult to align the mirrors in off-axis systems because of their asymmetric structures. Off-axis mirrors of our telescope are manufactured at the Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI). We analyze the fabricated mirror surfaces by fitting polynomial functions to the measured data. We accomplish alignment of this two-mirror off-axis system using a ray tracing method. A simple imaging test is performed to compare a pinhole image with a simulated prediction.

There are various methods to detect the faulty electric facilities(esp, insulator) indirectly on power distribution lines at a certain distance apart. This paper describes the proto type equipment to detect a faulty insulator by receiving a electric discharge noises, which are generated with a periodicity of 120Hz.

A control panel layout system was developed to generate an ergrnomically sound panel design. A constraint satisfaction concept was introduced as a framework of incorporating diverse ergonomic design guidelines into the panel layout. An efficient search algorithm which can find a constraint satisfaction solution within a reasonable time was developed based on preprocess and look ahead procedures with the backjumping technique. The proto- type panel layaout system was developed on a SPARC workstation. The constraint satisfaction algorithm was programmed in C language with Motif as a GUI tool under the X-windows environment. The effectiveness of the prototype paned layout system was examined by a case study.

In this paper, it is described how the problems appeared at the previous proto type sensor are improved. As changing the pressure and temperature of engine oil in a test rig, the modified sensor is tested. Then, the measured results of capacitance and the corresponding dielectric constants under various temperatures and pressures are shown. It turns out that the electrical signal gotten from the electrodes of newly developed sensor can be more stable under the various operating conditions.

The semi-active recoil system provides automatic hydraulic pressure and recoil length by an exteral impulse compared with the conventional recoil system. We developed the proto type of recoil system and validated the performance through simulation and experiment. The main issue of the system is how to adjust pressure and length simultaneously. The system consists of external pressure control valve and flow control valve outside of cylinder. The pressure control valve control the cylinder pressure and recoil length. The controlled system enhances the control performance.
