  • As a DRM is recently being removed from many sites, the content protection on a video server becomes important. However, many protection methods have their own limitations, or aren't used due to the deterioration of the streaming performance. This paper proposes a content protection method that uses both the eCryptFS and the SELinux at the same time, and measures the performance of the proposed method by using various benchmarks. Then, this paper verifies that the method doesn't significantly decrease the streaming performance although the proposed method decreases the other performances, so it can be used for the content protection in a multimedia system.

  • In urban area, flood risk is getting higher because of inland flood risk has grown up by changing rainfall intensity, rainfall pattern, changing land use and so on. Urban area is needed higher flood protection level to protect accumulated people, buildings and other infrastructures. However, even though former flood protection has focused on overflow from river, there is not a guide line for evaluating proper flood protection level. Thus, it is necessary to protect flood from inland flooding as well as overflow from river and need a proper method to evaluating flood protection level. This study present a method of determining flood protection elevation by using GIS tools for deciding proper flood protection level. The study result may contribute to urban flood protection measures in which inland flood risk increases.

  • Protection issues in distribution systems which are to be operated in open and closed-loop modes in a smart grid are studied and a generalized protection setting method is proposed to meet the new requirements. The developed setting method assumes a conventional over-current protection scheme for the system with reclosers and over-current relays. In a closed-loop mode, it identifies protective devices that have to be sacrificed in order to maximize protection coordination for bidirectional fault current flow. The proposed setting method has been tested on many systems with different complexity and is proved effective.

  • In this paper, we studied hierarchical channel coding scheme using unequal error protection method for consecutively broadcastingservice under the rain attenuation of Ka band satellite broadcasting. Unlike time-sharing methods, which are design for different channel coding scheme in according to different modulation, unequal error protection method is made in such way that minimum distance between signals are different for importance of signals with same modulation. Consequently we proposed optimal method according to performance analysis.

  • Cathodic Protection Method was introduced as a corrosion protection method of metals under the ground or sea. Since 1970, it was applied to corrosion protection method of reinforced concrete structures. After 1990, this method has been used around the world, and its usability was proved. But this method has some problems on the aspect of construction and economy. In order to solve these problems, Cathodic Protection Method by using high durable metal spray was developed. First, the specimen was covered with anodic materials (Zn, Al) by using metal spray. And a performance of corrosion protection was confirmed by measuring corrosion current of specimen. Through the result of experiment, it is possible to know that Cathodic Protection Method by using high metal spray is good to protect to corrosion on reinforced concrete structures.

  • A new method to evaluate the protection capability of distribution systems is reported in this paper. This work describes the fuzzy evaluation attributes and aggregation method of evaluation results based on a hierarchical model and the modified combination rule. An evaluation grade index called "protectability" is proposed and is expected to be a very uscful tool in defining an optimal protection and realizing the adaptive protection.rotection.

  • Protection martial arts are neither the ability to protect oneself nor the exercise to increase the personal record. Their aim is to protect clients for the sake of their safety, Therefore, it needs special training course distinguished form general martial arts. Those who perform the duty of protection should make efforts to master every skill capable of meeting any situations in which unforeseen accidents may occur. So the coaches of protection martial arts should teach their disciples basic techniques by stages according to each martial art. They also should teach them systematically how to deal with each accidental affair on the ground of protection method. With teaching the way to cope with a crisis coaches might make the disciples feel real by presenting the real situation of different events to which protection arts can be applicable. And a mock exercise with a careful plan and enough practices as well as a mental training to all evaluate the anxiety which might be shown on duty could be helpful for educating elite personnel who will perform the duty of protection completely.
