  • By using personal health devices, a type of bio-censor at home and building, for telemedicine, this paper proposes a new method to protect more robust patient's privacy than before scheme [1] by ensuring the integrity and the secure transmission further when it communicates with gateway which collecting bio-information from them. As the suggested method is designed to conform with ISO/IEEE 11073-20601 [2], which is international standard, it considered interoperability with various health devices.

  • In the system of underground transmission line, the rate of electrical failure is very low, but, if once occuring, the failure evolves into a paralysis of the system, the time of restoration is very long, the damage from stopping of power supply is very serious, and the cost of restoration is very great. Because of these problems, you must try to protect the system and equipment from every electrical failure by contributing much carefulness to the design and operation of the underground system. This study summerizes the results of simmulation tests about the effect of installing this protection device on the insulated joint box and the terminal end box.

  • Reduction of a ship's rolling is the most important performance requirement for improving the safety of the crew on board and preventing damage to cargos as well as improving the comfort of the ride. A mass driving anti-.oiling system (MD-ARS) might be one candidate of several systems against the ship's rolling. As the movable range of the mass on the ship is finite, the control system must include restriction on the mass position to protect the device and the ship. This restriction usually causes windup phenomenon and control performance is deteriorated seriously. We adopt anti-windup technique to improve the control performance and demonstrate its efficiency by simulation.

  • Here, we studied the sports mouse guard as an oral device system, to minimize the sports related facial and dental injuries, jawbone fracture and brain injury, and by layering the hardened sheets for improving the activity performance and stable wearing. By pressuring and layering 2 soft- and 1 hard-layers of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) thermoplastic materials, for a category of martial art, record sports and leports, here we introduce a methodology for thickness control of layers to protect the teeth and oral structure. A personally customized mouse guard optimized for sports by layering a mixture of soft and hardened sheets is not easily detached during the sporting activity, easy to breathe through, comforts to wear, and also improves the sporting record. A designed EVA thermoplastic material for individual sports is used as the mouth guard, which is stably attached, easily removed, and convenient for breathing through the mouth.

  • The mouth guard is a device with elasticity to be installed in the oral cavity. It has a function to reduce the trauma in the oral cavity and to protect the teeth and surrounding tissues from trauma. The purpose of mouth guard is to prevent trauma and concussion. It is mandatory to wear a mouthguard in sports where there is a lot of contact and the possibility of trauma or concussion in the mouth area is high. The mouse guard is divided into a stock type, a mouth formed type, and a custom made type according to the manufacturing method. The custom made type is made on the individual dentition model and has excellent retention because of its excellent fit. Also, the effect of trauma prevention is excellent. It is possible to design and adjust by the dentist and reduce the complaint the athlete has about the mouthguard. In this article, the process of making a dentist-customized mouthguard was described.

  • To protect press operator from the after-reach hazard, current Ministry of Labor Notification(MOLN) requires the use of a formula for calculating the safe distance away from the point of operation for locating press protective devices, Two Hand Control Devices(THCD) and Active Opto-Electronic Protective Devices(AOPD), on a power press. This formula is based on a same hand speed constant of 160cm/s. While EN standards use different hand speed constant for THCD and AOPD respectively. The objective of this study is to compare two guidelines on the hand speed constant published by MOLN and EN 692, also to propose a proper hand speed constant and validate it experimentally. As a experimental result, it could be known that hand speed constant of Ministry of Labor Notification should be improved as that of EN standards.

  • There are many researches on Power Quality Device to protect the critical load and power system as the nonlinear load and precision load are adopted into the power system recently. To analyze the voltage compensation of voltage sag and voltage swell by DVR, which is connected to the important load in series, this paper shows PSCAD/EMTDC simulation and its verification by comparing with the actual DVR output of 2MVA. DVR control scheme in this paper is applicable to compensate single-phase, 2-phases or 3-phases voltage sag as well as DVR for distribution system.

  • Ducky USB is one of rarely-known keyboard-emulating BadUSBs. The attacking strategy using Ducky USB is taking and executing the scripted keystroke automatically whenever the USB is inserted into PC. Prior works exhibit some problems such as performance loss and additional device requirement. To solve this problem, this paper devised a countermeasure program to efficiently block the Duck USB in Windows. The experiment proves its effectiveness.

  • 고전압, 대전류를 갖는 뇌서지는 전원회로에 유입되었을 때 소자 파손 및 회로 오동작 등의 문제를 일으킨다. 이에 대한 보호대책으로 SPD(Surge Protection Device)소자와 스파크-갭(Spark-gap)을 주로 사용한다. 이 때, 기존의 스파크-갭은 뇌서지 유입 시 방전현상 이후에 발생된 스파크-갭의 패턴 마모로 패턴의 복구가 불가능하고, 불규칙하고 변칙적인 방전으로 인하여 발생되는 서지주요 예측경로의 소자 및 패턴 파괴와 같이 2차적인 문제를 발생시킨다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 초기 유입 시부터 스파크-갭의 방전을 통해 에너지를 우회시킴으로서 전원회로의 뇌서지 부담을 줄여 전원회로의 안전성 및 안정적인 정상동작을 확보하는 대책을 제안하고, 스파크-갭의 구조에 따른 효과를 실험을 통해 검증한다.

  • The relay protection engineers are sometimes faced with the difficulties in full protection of high-inertia drive motors during acceleration period. The problem results from lower permitted locked rotor time of the motor compared with motor starting time. Even though the various types of protection relay and other device (Speed switch, Distance relay) are used, the full protections against abnormal starting conditions may not be available. So, the development of a new speed-biased overcurrent relay is suggested in this paper. This paper also presents that speed-biased overcurrent relay can fully protect the high-inertia motor during abnormal starting condition by computer simulation.
