노인의 재활 필라테스 운동이 낙상 예방 효과에 대한 고찰 (A Study on Effects of the Fall Prevention in the Rehabilitation Pilates Exercise)

  • 본 연구는 노인들의 낙상 위험 기전을 이해하고 필라테스 재활 운동 원리가 노인들의 균형 능력과 자세 안정화에 긍정적 효과를 기대할 수 있는지 선행 연구 자료를 고찰하였고, 재활 필라테스 운동의 낙상 예방 효과에 대한 문헌적 기초자료를 제시하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이에 다음과 같은 결론을 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 재활 필라테스 운동은 척추와 골반의 안정화를 위한 신체 중심부의 강화 운동이 가능하고, 신경근을 촉진시켜 균형과 관절 안정화에 효과가 있다. 둘째, 노화에 따른 고유수용기 감각 저하와 근골격계 퇴행 질환은 균형 능력 상실과 자세 유지의 불안정성을 높여 운동 기능 수행의 어려움과 보행 장애로 낙상 손상 위험을 높이게 된다. 셋째, 재활 필라테스 운동은 노인들의 코어 근력 향상으로 균형과 반응시간 운동 기능 향상을 기대할 수 있으며, 낙상 예방에 관여되는 신체 불균형 개선과 움직임 안정성에 긍정적 영향을 미쳐 낙상 위험률 감소에 기여할 가능성을 제시할 수 있다. 결론적으로 재활 필라테스가 노인운동 프로그램으로서 신체의 근력 향상, 균형 감각 향상, 코어의 안정화 효과를 나타내 근골격계 퇴행에 따른 낙상 손상의 위험 요인을 감소시키고, 노인성 만성질환에 따른 심각한 활동 장애를 예방할 수 있음을 고찰하였다.

마사지 처치가 혈액성분에 미치는 영향 (The effects of the massage treatment on the Changes in Blood Ingredients)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze the reaction of recovery for the fatigue by sports massage treatment after Taekwondo training and then to verify the effectiveness. Subject : The subjects of this study were all the 20 high school Taekwondo players divided into two groups (rest recovery group and sports massage group) selected by systematic random assignment sampling. Method : The variables were the level of hemoglobin, lactic acid and glucose, and measured at rest, immediately-after exercise and 30-minute recovery. The data from this study were analyzed by using one-way ANOVA, independent sample t-test. Results : The results are as follows ; 1. The measurement of the hemoglobin, there was not the significant differences between experiment group and control group. 2. The lactate showed lower in the experiment group than in the control group in 30-minute recovery (p<.001). 3. The glucose showed lower in the experiment group than in the control group in 30-minute recovery (p<.01). So I think the sports massage treatment is more effective in the relief of fatigue than static rest method during the recovery after sports. However the massage treatment influence on the activation of metabolism according to the intensity and the duration of sports, and vary the effect of treatment according to the method and execution time. Therefore the longitudinal investigation of the variation by the long time massage through the more detailed program must be requisite for us.

PNF의 안정적 반전과 율동적 안정화 기법을 이용한 체간 안정화 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 체간 근력과 균형 능력에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Trunk Stability Exercises with Stabilizing Reversal and Rhythmic Stabilization of PNF for Muscle Strength and Balance Ability in Stroke Patients)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect that trunk stability exercises with stabilizing reversal and rhythmic stabilization of PNF have on trunk strength and balance ability in stroke patients. Methods: This study included 20 stroke patients who performed trunk stability exercises combined with stabilizing reversal and rhythmic stabilization of PNF. The exercise program consisted of 30-minute sessions per week for six weeks. Trunk strength (BTE, Primus RS) and balance ability (Berg Balance Scale) were evaluated before and after training. All data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 software. Results: Significant differences were observed the both groups for truck strength and balance ability. The results of the study were as follows: trunk strength was significantly increased in both groups (p<.05) and it was also found to be significant between groups after the intervention (p<.05). Balance ability was significantly increased in both groups (p<.05) and it was also found to be significant between the groups after intervention (p<.05). Conclusion: Trunk stability exercises with stabilizing reversal and rhythmic stabilization of PNF are effective for improving trunk strength and balance ability in stroke patients. For stroke patients, trunk stability exercises with PNF are very useful and effective and they areeffectiveinclinicalpractice.

가상현실과 전통적 균형훈련이 기능적 발목 불안정성 환자의 균형에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Virtual Reality Training and Traditional Balance Training on Balance in Patients with Functional Ankle Instability)

  • Purpose: Functional ankle instability (FAI) causes tension in the joints, ligaments, and tendons, and the impact on visual and vestibular organs leads to imbalance. This study compared the effects of a traditional balance training program to virtual reality training to improve FAI. Methods: Twenty-four participants with FAI (CAIT score < 24) were assigned to a virtual reality training group (n = 13) and a traditional balance training group (n = 11). Both groups pursued their respective training program for four weeks. After a ten-minute warm-up, participants completed a 30-minute training session, three times per week. The traditional balance training group underwent static and dynamic training using a balance board and a stability trainer pad while the virtual reality group underwent balance training using a virtual reality program. Biorescue was used to measure changes in the speed and length of center of pressure (COP) for single-leg stance pre- and post-training. Results: The speed and length of COP improved significantly in both groups after training as compared to before (p < 0.05). However, there were no significant differences in these outcomes between the virtual reality training group and the traditional balance training group (p>0.05). Conclusion: The study findings confirm the effectiveness of both virtual reality training and traditional balance training in reducing ankle instability, with no difference in treatment effects.

부산지역 파킨슨병 재활서비스의 현황 및 분석 (Current Status and Future of Parkinson's Disease Rehabilitation Service in Busan)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the current and future status of Parkinson's disease rehabilitation service in Busan. Methods: A literature search of domestic journals was conducted using the keywords "Parkinson's", "exercise", "rehabilitation", and "physical therapy". The chosen databases were Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), e-articles, and Korean studies Information Service System (KISS). International literature was searched in PubMed, Pedro, DOI, Publisher, CINAHL (EBSCOhost), and PsycINFO using the same combination of keywords. Results: The results of this study showed that 33 medical institutions provide Parkinson's disease rehabilitation service and five do not. Regarding the composition of Parkinson's disease rehabilitation teams, 15 medical institutions provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy as their rehabilitation program, 15 medical institutions provide physical therapy and occupational therapy, and three provide only physical therapy. The study found that muscle-strengthening, flexibility, endurance, and balance exercises were commonly provided in all 33 medical institutions for Parkinson's disease. Additional exercises were provided in only three medical institutions. The frequency was five times a week in 20 medical institutions. Conclusion: Medical institutions located in Busan provide a variety of Parkinson's disease rehabilitation services, not only in general hospitals but also in multiple medical institutions, although the composition of their Parkinson's disease rehabilitation teams and the frequency of treatment vary.

목뼈 부위 감각운동 조절 훈련이 만성 목 통증 환자의 통증과 기능, 심리사회적 수준에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cervical Sensorimotor Control Training on Pain, Function and Psychosocial Status in Patients With Chronic Neck Pain)

  • Background: It is reported that the proprioceptive sensation of patients with neck pain is reduced, and neck sensory-motor control training using visual feedback is reported to be effective. Objects: The purpose of this study is to investigate how sensorimotor control training for the cervical spine affects pain, function, and psychosocial status in patients with chronic cervical pain. Methods: The subjects consisted of 36 adults (male: 15, female: 21) who had experienced cervical spine pain for more than 6 weeks. An exercise program composed of cervical stabilization exercise (10 minutes), electrotherapy (10 minutes), manual therapy (10 minutes), and cervical sensorimotor control training (10 minutes) was implemented for both the experimental and the control groups. The cervical range of motion (CROM) and head repositioning accuracy were assessed using a CROM device. In the experimental group, the subjects wore a laser device on the head to provide visual feedback while following pictures in front of their eyes; whereas, in the control group, the subjects had the same training of following pictures without the laser device. Results: There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in pain, dysfunction, range of motion, or psychosocial status; however, post-test results showed significant decreases after 2 weeks and 4 weeks compared to baseline (p < 0.01), and after 4 weeks compared to after 2 weeks (p < 0.01). The cervical joint position sense differed significantly between the two groups (p < 0.05). Conclusion: In this study, visual feedback enhanced proprioception in the cervical spine, resulting in improved cervical joint position sense. On the other hand, there were no significant effects on pain, dysfunction, range of motion, or psychosocial status.

필라테스 운동이 여중생의 요통과 체간 등속성 근력 및 평형성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pilates Exercises on Isokinetic Trunk Strength and Balance in Female Middle School Students with Lumbago)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of performing Pilates exercises for eight weeks on the isokinetic trunk strength and balance of female middle school students with lumbago. Methods: Twenty-four female students who met the test requirements were recruited and randomly divided into a control group (CG, n = 16) and a Pilates exercise group (Pilates group; PG, n = 8). The PG performed a Pilates program, which consisted of lumbar muscle strengthening exercises, for 60 minutes three times a week for eight weeks. Data analysis was conducted by two-way repeated ANOVA, and a Bonferroni test was carried out when significant differences appeared. The alpha level was set at 0.05. Results: Following the experimental treatment, the PG showed an increased trunk flexion peak torque of 17% and 13% at angular velocities of 180°/sec and 300°/sec, respectively. The intergroup comparison showed no significant difference at pre-measurement, while the PG increased about 31% (180°/sec) and 15% (300°/sec) higher than the control group at post-measurement. Following the experimental treatment, the PG showed an increased trunk extensor peak torque of approximately 29% and 21% at angular velocities of 180°/sec and 300°/sec, respectively. The intergroup comparison showed no significant difference at pre-measurement, while the PG increased approximately 27% (180°/sec) and 15% (300°/sec) higher than the control group at post-measurement. Both the CG and the PG showed a 20% and 50% decrease in pain index after the experimental treatment, respectively. After the experimental treatment, the PG had about 50% lower pain than the CG. The average error rate of static balance in the PG reduced by 19% from 3.28±0.45 to 2.65±0.36, confirming a significant improvement. Conclusion: Regular Pilates exercise for eight weeks improved the isokinetic trunk muscle strength of female middle school students with lumbago and relieved their pain. Pilates was also shown to be effective in improving balance.

데드리프트 시 지지면에 따른 몸통 및 하지 근육의 활성도 비교 (Comparison of Trunk and Lower Extremity Muscle Activities during Deadlift depending on Support Surface)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare trunk and lower extremity muscle activity during deadlift on stable - and unstable surfaces. Methods: Twenty healthy men participated in this study. The participants performed deadlift exercise on both a stable surface and an unstable surface. During the deadlift, the activities of the trunk and lower extremity muscle were collected by using electromyography. Results: The results showed that the electromyographic activity of the gluteus maximus significantly increased during deadlift on an unstable surface compared to on a stable surface (p <0.05). However, in the electromyographic activities of the rectus femoris, biceps femoris, and erector spinae, there were no significant differences (p >0.05). Conclusion: The finding that the electromyographic activity of the gluteus maximus increases significantly during deadlift on an unstable surface compared to stable one could be used to develop an efficient exercise program.

일부 대학생의 척추 측만에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 (An Analysis of Factors that Affect Spinal Scoliosis of College Students)

  • This research measures the conditions of spinal scoliosis of college students and analyses the factors that affect spinal scoliosis. From September 15, 2008 to October 30, 2008, the study was conducted with 142 C College students and measured the degrees of spinal scoliosis. The analysis was evaluated according to the Pneumex Analysis program. The collected data was compiled into statistics using the SPSS PC+ 12.0 program. The results were as follows: 1. It appeared that in the cases of C curve, reverse C curve, S curve, and the normal, there was a statistical significance(p=.010) between the conditions of spinal scoliosis of the two genders. 2. It appeared that the comparison among the three groups according to the characteristics of the subjects showed a statistical significance in spinal length(p=.000) in the C curve group, age(p=.019) and spinal length(p=.004) in the reverse C curve group, and spinal length (p=.035), difference in apparent leg length(p=.019), and difference in true leg length(p=.012) in the S curve group. 3. It appeared that in the normal group without spinal scoliosis, the results of comparing the differences in apparent true leg length and spinal length according to the characteristics of the subjects showed a statistical significance in spinal length and gender(p=.000), age (p=.008), height(p=.000), and whether or not there was a regular exercise over once per week(p=.001). 4. On the correlations between C curve, reverse C curve, and S curve and differences in apparent true leg length and spinal length, it appeared that: (a) As the difference in apparent leg length gets bigger the difference in true leg length gets big in C curve(r=.551, p=.000). (b) As the difference in apparent leg length gets bigger the difference in true leg length gets big in reverse C curve(r=.511, p=.006). (c) There is no correlation in S curve.

집중 복합 물리치료 프로그램이 산재 외상성 어깨둘레근 손상 환자의 통증, 관절가동범위, 근력, 기능, 삶의 질과 우울증에 미치는 영향 -예비연구- (Effects of an Intensively Complex Physical Therapy Program on the Pain, Range of Motion, Muscle Strength, Function, Quality of Life, and Depression of Patients with Traumatic Rotator Cuff Injury caused by an Industrial Accident -A Pilot Study-)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of an intensive rehabilitation program on the pain, range of motion (ROM), muscle strength, function, quality of life (QoL), and depression of patients with traumatic rotator cuff injury caused by an industrial accident. Methods: Seventeen patients with traumatic rotator cuff injury caused by an industrial accident participated in this study. The 12-week treatment included 30 min of manual therapy and 30 min of exercise therapy twice a day, five times a week. The outcomes were measured for evaluating the pain, ROM, muscle strength, function, QoL, and depression before the commencement of the program and after 4, 8, and 12 weeks. Results: According to the time of applying the intensive rehabilitation program, the pain (p<0.01), ROM (p<0.01), muscle strength (p<0.01), function (p<0.01), and depression (p<0.05) significantly improved with time. However, QoL was not statistically significant. Conclusion: This study confirmed the excellent effect of an intensive rehabilitation program on the pain, ROM, muscle strength, function, and depression of patients with traumatic rotator cuff injury caused by an industrial accident. However, this study was limited by the absence of a control group. This pilot study highlights the need for more extensive research with a larger sample.
