My essay aims at reading Ginsberg's "Howl" and "Kaddish" with the concept of 'shaman-prophet-poet' to illustrate the dynamic relationship between his poetics and radical politics. Throughout his widely-ranging career, Ginsberg represents himself as a poet-prophet and commands a typical rhetoric of revelation as a way of decentering Cold War orthodoxies. While well aware of the oppressive and pervasive power of the dominant post-war ideologies, he adopts 'madness' to oppose conventional political, social, and religious institutions; by way of entering into the madness of this world and actively engaging himself as a victim, he can finally heal both himself and the world. This dual function of poet characterizes his rhetoric of revelation, but it doesn't appeal to the mainstream of American critical ideology where the post-structural approach to language and subject gives a skeptical look at any account of active human agency and humanistic belief in the possibility of language. In "Howl" and "Kaddish," Ginsburg persuades the reader of the truth of his own vision through the convincing and realistic portraits of his contemporaries as well as his own mother and family. Different from his visionary predecessors such as Emerson and Whitman, Ginsberg knew the difficulty of a negotiation between history and divine vision, and attempted to imbricate his family, friends, and even the larger social and political units within his visionary experience in order to avoid naive idealism, escapism, or solipsism. Furthermore, he deconstructs the Logos of Western prophecy and replaces it with the groundless identity and the nontheistic epistemology of Buddhism, which, in turn, leads to emptying his powerful language of absolutist meaning and prevents his prophecy from becoming re-reified as divine essentialism. Ginsberg's idea of poet and poem revitalizes the skeptical view on language and literary representation of our contemporary critical community which is unwilling to engage the experimental scope of his radical prophecy.

Caodaism officially came into existence in 1926 in Southern Vietnam and soon became a spiritual phenomenon, in the sense of spiritual and social influence. Despite being sandwiched between political forces and ruling governments, Caodaism steadily grew far beyond its national boundary. After 95 years, Caodaism eventually reached Taiwan when a new small Cao Đài Congregation, approved by top Cao Đài Dignitaries in Vietnam, was established in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City by a group identifying as 'Vietnamese New Immigrants' in Taiwan. This article traced this religious organization's doctrine, philosophy, prophecy and relevant socio-cultural factors and found that (1) Caodaists see the successful spreading of Caodaism to Taiwan as having been prophesied long ago; (2) Caodaists believe that any human efforts by Cao Đài missionaries to spread Caodaism overseas without approval from Divinities could end up in failure; and (3) the similarities in social, cultural, and religious practices between the peoples of Vietnam and Taiwan lay a strong foundation for Caodaism to further develop in Taiwan.

This paper explores a structural mechanism underlying governmental reformulation. Studying cases of governmental reorganizations occurred during past 60 years, this paper constructs a causal map containing a principle of small government, an integrative organization of the government, and a committee organization. A positive feedback loop linking these factors produces an increase in the number of the committee organization in the government. Also, this paper points out that there might be a hidden self fullfilling prophecy that reinforces the principle of small government. Open experiment toward a big government is proposed to overcome the vicious circle of small government curse.

본 연구는 전자책 독서경험의 변별자질을 '체험성'으로 전제하고 이를 증명하는데 목적을 둔다. 전자책은 개념적으로 '책'에 그 기반을 두고 있는 만큼, 인문학적인 관점에서 전자책이 '책'의 개념을 어떻게 계승, 변형, 확장하는가에 대해 논할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 앱북 형식의 전자책 을 대표분석 텍스트로 삼아 전자책의 체험성을 분석했다. 은 아이패드용으로 출시된 앱북으로, 작가인 주이커는 TV 범죄수사드라마 시리즈인 C.S.I.에 참여했던 창작자이기도 하다. 그는 자신의 소설을 '디지노벨'이라 규정짓는다. 디지노벨은 동일한 내용의 소설을 세 가지 읽기 방식-전통텍스트형(Traditional Version), 디지노벨형(Digi-Novel Version), 얼티메이트 디지노벨형(Ultimate Digi-Novel Version)-으로 제시한다. 따라서 같은 내용의 전자책 콘텐츠라 할지라도 상호작용과 멀티미디어적 변수에 따라 사용자의 독서경험이 달리진다는 것을 증명하기에 적절하다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 전자책 콘텐츠는 미디어적 특성상 대중적 취향과 관습적 내용을 따르며, 독자의 신체 개입을 통해 체험을 확장해나간다. 따라서 전자책의 체험성을 높이기 위해서는 체험의 요소가 반드시 서사 구조 내에서 유의미한 극적 요소와 연결되어야 한다.

많은 사람들은 미래에 발생할 일에 대한 결정을 내리기 전 수 많은 생각과 심리적 변화를 겪게 된다. 특히 우리 삶에서 자신의 직업과 같은 경제적 및 사회적 측면에 대한 고려와 함께 중요한 선택을 하게 되는 상황에서 그 선택은 미래에 경험하게 될 후회의 정도에 따라 현재의 행동이 결정된다. 이러한 심리적 기제는 이미 심리학과 마케팅 분야에서는 감정 및 정서적 요인들이 의사결정 과정에 직접적이고 중요한 영향을 미친다는 사실에 공감하며 관련 연구들이 활발히 이루어져 왔다. 이처럼 창업 분야에서도 예비창업가들이 창업을 결정하기 위한 중요한 심리적 요인으로 후회라는 감정이 직접적으로 영향을 미치는지 확인할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 많은 창업가들의 의사결정에서 발생되는 예상되는 후회(anticipated regret)가 창업 행동(entrepreneurial behavior)에 영향을 미치는 가를 살펴보고자 하였다. 그리고 이와 아울러 창업가의 예상되는 후회가 창업 행동에 영향을 미칠 때, 창업가의 자기 충족적 예언(self fulfilling prophecy)과 창업가적 열정(entrepreneurial passion)의 수준이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 창업가의 예상되는 후회와 목표지향성, 그리고 창업가적 열정에 대한 선행연구를 검토함으로써 가설을 설정하였다. 그리고 이를 검증하기 위해 창업가 145명을 대상으로 두 차례에 걸쳐 설문을 실시하여 연구를 진행하였다.

The purpose of this study is to apply iconology to discover the symbolic system of imaginary animals focused on four representative auspicious animals in Korean folk paintings. Study methods included literature review of folk paintings, iconological analytics books, and articles. A total of 16 folk paintings of four auspicious animals in the Joseon Dynasty were analyzed using Panofsky's iconology. The four auspicious animals were Yong(dragon), Bonghwang(the eastern version of the phoenix), Shingoo (divine turtle), and Kirin(one-horned combination of a dragon and horse). According to iconological analysis, Yong is a typical symbol of royal authority, a deity of water as an object of respect with a remarkable talent of transformation, and in iconographical interpretation, represents reverence for transcendent power. Bonhwang is the symbol of a king, sun worship, the emblem of nobility and integrity, and in iconographical interpretation, the psychic bing in the sky. Shingoo is fortune prophecy, longevity and immortality, an envoy of deity, and according to iconographical interpretation, the organic view of the world. Kirin is a divine benign creature, a symbol of talent and honor, mediator between sky and earth, and in iconographical interpretation, an expression of Confucian ideology. This study produced three results. First, the four auspicious animals projected the human hope to overcome human limitations through divine creatures with mythical abilities. Second, they reflected everyday common hopes and values of pursuing fortunes and happiness. Third, the four auspicious animals' iconology was not independent of each other; it seemed to be common to and combined with each other.

본 연구는 아스트롤로지가 예언적이고 점술적인 기능을 하는 비과학적이라는 의미를 벗어나, 청소년의 자기인식의 변화에 사회과학적 측면에서의 상담도구로서 가치가 있음을 보여주기 위한 것이다. 아스트롤로지에서 사적 자기인식이란 태양이 위치한 본성과 연관이 있고 공적 자기인식이란 상승궁 즉 페르소나와 연관이 있다고 할 수 있다. 또한 감정을 관장하는 달의 위치와 기본 좌상 및 부수 좌상을 해석함으로써 사회적 불안과 연관하여 상담 장면에 적용하였다. 본 연구의 연구대상은 경남 C시에 소재하는 청소년 종합 지원센터에 의뢰된 지각, 흡연, 무단조퇴, 수업 태도 불량, 집단 폭행 등의 학교부적응을 보이거나 절도, 폭행등으로 보호 관찰중인 24명의 위기청소년들이다. 이를 무작위로 실험집단(12명)과 통제 집단(12명)으로 나누었다. 연구 결과는 아스트롤로지를 활용한 상담이 위기 청소년의 자기인식에 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀져, 아스트롤로지가 상담 도구로써 유의미한 가치가 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

The real nature of the west wind in Shelley's Ode to the West Wind is the divine providence which influences all things in this world- that is, whether they are on land, in the sky, or in the sea. The divine providence is the manifestation of something beyond the present and tangibel object. In the first stanza, the real nature of the west wind in this poem is the wild wind, the breath of Autumn's being, the unseen presence, the azure sister of the Spring, a Destroyer, a Preserver, the winged seed, a creator, a philosopher, a poet, Shelley, and the wild spirit moving everywhere. In the second stanza, the real nature of the west wind in this poem is cloud, the angel of rain and lightning, fierce Maenad, the approaching storm, the congregated might, the black rain, the fire, hail, solid atmosphere, the tremendous power of revolutionary change, and the power that influences all things in the sky. In the third stanza, the real nature of the west wind in this poem is the voice that makes the oozy woods which wear the sapless foliage of the Atlantic, and the power makes the blue Mediterranean wake from his summer dream. the fit medium of expression which Shelley's soul was seeking for, Shelley's passion, Shelley's partner, Shelley's co-worker, and a strong presence which influences in the sea. In the fourth stanza, the real nature of the west wind in this poem is the mightest presence, the power, the strength, the free presence, the uncontrollable, the wanderer over heaven, a vision, the tameless, the swift, the proud and the God who can save Shelley form the heavy weight of hours and lift Shelley as a wave a leaf, a cloud. In the fifth stanza, the real nature of the west wind in this poem is the mighty harmony, the fierce Spirit, Shelley's spirit, the impetuous spirit, incanation of this verse, spark, the trumpet of a prophecy, the Providence which can make the Winter depart and call Spring, and the prophet. To conclude, the real nature of the west wind in this poem is Shelley's accumulated insight that he visulize his impulse of revolutionary thought.

Purpose Through the provision of real time performance information about who is contributing and who is not in Electronic Brainstorming, prior studies evidenced a significant performance gain. However, it has been observed that the quantity-based performance feedback alone does not have enough restrictiveness to guide the performance behavior throughout the idea generation session. We included the notion of goal setting into the process performance feedback mechanism in an effort to regulate performance behavior and to better understand why individuals in Electronic Brainstorming are not obtaining enough stimulation benefits in the group interaction process. Design/methodology/approach We had developed real-time visual process performance feedback and modified to include goal setting. This mechanism visually displays individuals' performances two-dimensionally (quality for each idea vertically and quantity of ideas horizontally along with their goals). As individuals' contributions accumulate, the mechanism reveals performance histories by connecting the sequence of ideas in a time-series format, telling stories of individuals' performances. Then, we compared the performance outcome from this study with the outcomes from two prior studies (i.e., Jung et al., 2010 and Jung, 2014). Findings The results showed that the inclusion of goal setting into the process performance feedback solved the issue in the previous study. That was the lower than expected magnitude of performance enhancement of process performance feedback when compared to that of quantity-based feedback. It appears that goals as a motivational technique provide standards for systematic self-evaluation, serving as a cue to regulate performance behavior by strengthening the linkage between effort and performance. Thus, goals seem to set up a self-fulfilling prophecy, preconditioning better performance. However, the outcome still showed that its performance magnitude is unsatisfactory because the outcome of this study turned out to be close to the outcome of just quantity-based performance feedback in Jung et al.'s (2010) study.

이 논문은 1990년대 중반 이후 깔롱(Callon), 맥켄지(MacKenzie) 등을 주축으로 논의된 '수행성 테제'(performativity thesis)에 대한 개념과 사례 및 함의를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 과학기술학(STS) 학자들에 의해 주창되고 발전된 수행성 테제는 경제사회학 분야에서 주로 논의되었으나, 최근에는 일반 경제학, 회계학 등 다른 연구분야에도 확산되어 논의되고 있다. 수행성 테제의 핵심 주장은 '경제학 이론이 경제를 수행적으로 구성한다'는 것으로, 시장 참여자나 경제학자가 아닌 '이론'에 행위능력을 적극적으로 부여하는 것이다. 이 논문은 수행성 테제의 개념적 기원이 기존의 다른 분과학문뿐 아니라 STS 연구의 연장선 상에 놓여 있다고 본다. 특히 일견 단절적으로 보이는 머튼(Merton)의 '자기 실현적 예언'에서 파생한 수행성 개념과 행위자-연결망 이론(ANT)의 지적 전통을 강조한다. 수행성 연구 프로그램은 ANT 논쟁의 새 버전으로 비견될 정도로 STS 내외로부터 많은 비판을 받았음에도 불구하고, 전통적인 과학기술 분야로부터 경제와 시장으로 연구대상을 확장하고, STS의 독특한 시각으로 경제와 시장을 해석하고 기술했다는 측면에서 의의가 있다.
