해안지역별 준설점토의 침강 및 토질특성 (Comparative Study on Sedimentation and Soil Characteristic of Dredged Marine Clays at Coastal Areas)

  • In some port construction, a case of reclamation with dredged soil for land use can be found. Even though this is not a new technology, there are some problems on the test method and analysis. The design parameters are still remained to be solved to get accurate prediction. Sedimentation of particle and self-weight consolidation are the most important design parameters in reclamation by dredged soils. The design parameters are influenced by properties of the physical and sedimentation of dredged soils. This influencing factors can be determined depend on the history of long term sedimentation and particle characteristics. Thus, properties of the sedimentation and consolidation are varies depend on the regional geologic formation. In this paper, three different sites with different regional soil properties will be compared in design parameters of sedimentation and self-weight consolidation.

  • In tile design of base isolation system for building and short-span bridge, shift of the natural period of the structure is main objective. But, most long-span bridges such as a cable-stayed bridges have a number of long-period modes due to their flexibility and small structural damping. thus the design concept of base isolation system for building and short-span brigde may be difficult to use directly to these structures. However, the effectiveness of LRB for cable-stayed bridges is indicated by Ali and Abdel-Ghaffar. In this study, the design procedure and guidelines of LRB for a seismically excited cable-stayed bridge are investigated. The design properties of LRB are chosen that the design index(DI) is minimized or little changed for variation of properties. This result show that the stiffer rubber and bigger lead core size are need to cable-stayed bridges. And the seismic performance of designed LRB is also investigated. The consequences show that the perforamnce of designed LRB is better than that of Naeim-Kelly mettled designning LRB for general building structures. Moreover, the design properties of LRB are researched to several diffrent dominant frequency of earthquake. The results present that the plastic and elastic stiffness of LRB are affected by the dominant frequency of earthquake.

디자인 호텔의 인터랙션디자인 속성 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on the Characteristics of Interaction Design in the Design Hotel)

  • The design hotel where new life styles of users were created and the exchange of one's identity and the culture was executed was employed the interaction design which considered the attendance and experience of users as the important motives. This study is to discuss on the relationship between the design hotel and interaction design, and to compare and analyze the differences in the expression methods of them. It was concluded that the design hotel had a close relation with the properties of information supply, amusements, narrative, personalization, and social exchange in the interaction design, and it mainly used the digital media of non-material, the juxtaposition of strangeness, the change of structure, substitution of values, appropriation of hybrid as a means of its expression. In addition, it was revealed that the properties above did not simply apply to an open space but were connected as a dominant-subordinate relationship into one subject. It is expected that the field of interaction design in the design hotel will be expanded due to the spread of digital technology and its role and importance will be increased. Therefore, it is thought that the study to provide the development of a variety of contents of design hotel should be kept through the study of organic relation between different subjects, avoiding the indiscriminate use of the contents.

Determination of bearing type effect on elastomeric bearing selection with SREI-CAD

  • The aim of this paper is to develop software for designing of steel reinforced elastomeric isolator (SREI) according to American Association for State Highway and Transportation Officials Load and Resistance Factor Design (AASHTO LRFD) Specifications. SREI is used for almost all bridge types and special structures. SREI-structures interface defines support boundary conditions and may affect the seismic performance of bridges. Seismic performance of the bridge is also affected by geometrical and materials properties of SREI. The selection of SREI is complicated process includes satisfying all the design constraints arising from code provisions and maximizing performance at the lowest possible cost. In this paper, design stage of SREI is described up to AASHTO LRFD 2012. Up to AASHTO LRFD 2012 analysis and design program of SREI performed different geometrical and material properties are created with C# object-oriented language. SREI-CAD, name of the created software, allows an accurate design for economical estimation of a SREI in a short time. To determine types of SREI effects, two different types of bearings, rectangular and circular with similar materials and dimension properties are selected as an application. Designs of these SREIs are completed with SREI-CAD. It is seen that ensuring the stability of circular elastomer bearing at the service limit state is generally complicated than rectangular bearing.

Analysis of the Time-dependent Optical Properties of the Entire LCD Panel

  • To understand panel driving more accurately, the optical properties and their distributions in the LCD panel itself, excluding the backlight, were investigated by measuring the transmittance of a one-dot pixel as a function of time. First, the behavior of time-dependent transmittance was analyzed, and it was found that the off-state TFT was not in a steady state but in a transient state during the holding period. Second, the time average, max, min, and range values of the transmittance curves were examined by varying the common voltage level and gray scale. Third, the analysis of such properties was expanded to cover those of the entire panel in all the gray scales. Lastly, the relationship between their properties and distributions was also investigated along with the contour plots.

비선형 거동을 고려한 척추 인공추간판 보철물의 최적설계 (Optimal Design of Synthetic Intervertebral Disc Prosthesis Considering Nonlinear Mechanical Behavior)

  • A shape optimal design of synthetic intervertebral disc prosthesis is performed using a three-dimensional finite element method. Geometric parameters are introduced to model the cross-sectional geometry of the intervertebral disc. It is assumed that the total strain energy in the intact intervertebral disc is minimized under the normal load conditions, as often cited in other references. To calculate the stain energy density, both the nonlinear material properties and the large deformations are taken into account. The design variables of the annulus fiber angle and the area ratio of the nucleus pulposus are calculated as 31°and 30%, respectively, which complies well with the intact disc. Thus, the same optimization procedure is applied to the design of the synthetic intervertebral disc prosthesis whose material properties are different from the intact disc. For the given synthetic material properties, the values of 67°and 24% for the fiber angle and the area ratio are obtained.

  • There has been a great amount of interest in the design of digital filters with low sensitivity to coefficient variations. Especiaily the wave digital filter modeled after analog IC ladder filter has been studied to have low-cocfficient-sensitivity properties. This paper examined the design of the wave digital filter and how the sensitivity and roundoff noise porperty arises. As a result of computer simulation the implementation of the digital filter was possible with a lower coefficient word length comparing with the conventional cascade structure.

패션컬렉션에 나타난 모자와 의복의 조형성에 따른 이미지 평가 (Image Evaluation according to Formative Properties of Hat and the Garment in the Fashion Collection)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the image according to formative properties of hat and garment in the fashion collection. For the study, the 96 stimuli found frequently in fashion collection from the S/S season of 1998 to the F/W season of 2004 were selected. Sets of stimulus and response scales (7 point semantic) were used as experimental materials. The stimuli were 96 pictures with the types of hat(4), the lengths of hair(3), the types of garment(3), the relations between the color of garment and hat(4), and the materials(4) and patterns of garment(2). The subjects were 415 women college students majoring fashion design related fields and living in Seoul and Gyeongsangnam-do. As statistical methods for data analysis, Factor Analysis, ANOVA test, and LSD test were used. The items of the adjectives were classified into 5 image dimensions; attractiveness, gracefulness, concentration, cuteness, and hardness and softness. Among these factors, each dimensional image was affected by formative properties of hat and garment. The image of a hat-wearer was perceived differently according to the hair style and the formative properties of hat and garment even if the type of hat was same.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze representative methods of concrete mix design. As a results, it can be said that the properties of concrete are studied primarily for the purpose of selection of appropriate mix ingredients, and it is in this light that the various properties of concrete will be considered in appropriate mix design method.
