  • This paper is about applying efficient data mining method which improves the score calculation and proper building performance of credit ranking score system. The main idea of this data mining technique is accomplishing such objectives by applying Correlation based Feature Selection which could also be used to verify the properness of existing rank scores quickly. This study selected 2047 manufacturing companies on KOSPI market during the period of 2009 to 2013, which have their own credit rank scores given by NICE information service agency. Regarding the relevant financial variables, total 80 variables were collected from KIS-Value and DART (Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System). If correlation based feature selection could select more important variables, then required information and cost would be reduced significantly. Through analysis, this study show that the proposed correlation based feature selection method improves selection and classification process of credit rank system so that the accuracy and credibility would be increased while the cost for building system would be decreased.

  • Purpose: This study was designed to construct a structural model to explain the quality of life of grandmothers caring for their grandchildren. Method: Data were collected by self-report questionnaires from 232 grandmothers caring for their grandchildren living in Busan. The data collection period was from June to Oct. 2006. Data analysis was done with SAS 9.13 for descriptive statistics and PC-LISREL 8.52 program for Covariance Structural analysis. Results: The findings found that the fit of the hypothetical model to the data was good, but considering theoretical implications and statistical significances of parameter estimates, paths and variables of the model were modified by excluding 2 paths. The Modified Model with 17 paths showed a good fitness to the empirical data (X2=15.492 (df=11, p=.161), GFI=.985 AGFI=.940 NFI=.982 RMSR=.037 RMSEA=.042). Health status, health problems, economical status, life events, caring stress, caring efficacy and life satisfaction had significant effects on quality of life in the grandmother caring their grandchildren, but of these variables, self-esteem was the most essential factor. All predictive variables of quality of life together explained 63.9% of the variance. Conclusion: The derived model in this study was confirmed to be proper in explaining and predicting the quality of life of the grandmothers caring their grandchildren.

  • Decision Tree is one of analysis techniques which conducts grouping and prediction into several sub-groups from interested groups. Researcher can easily understand this progress and explain than other techniques. Because Decision Tree is easy technique to see results. This paper uses CART algorithm which is one of data mining technique. It used 273 variables and 70094 data(2010-2011) of working environment survey conducted by Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency(KOSHA). And then refines this data, uses final 12 variables and 35447 data. To find satisfaction factor in working environment, this page has grouped employee to 3 types (under 30 age, 30 ~ 49age, over 50 age) and analyzed factor. Using CART algorithm, finds the best grouping variables in 155 data. It appeared that 'comfortable in organization' and 'proper reward' is the best grouping factor.

  • In the areas highly exposed to earthquakes, concrete-filled steel tube columns (CFSTCs) are known to provide superior structural aspects such as (i) high strength for good seismic performance (ii) high ductility (iii) enhanced energy absorption (iv) confining pressure to concrete, (v) high section modulus, etc. Numerous studies were reported on behavior of CFSTCs under axial compression loadings. This paper presents an analytical model to predict ultimate load capacity of CFSTCs with circular sections under axial load by using multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS). MARS is a nonlinear and non-parametric regression methodology. After careful study of literature, 150 comprehensive experimental data presented in the previous studies were examined to prepare a data set and the dependent variables such as geometrical and mechanical properties of circular CFST system have been identified. Basically, MARS model establishes a relation between predictors and dependent variables. Separate regression lines can be formed through the concept of divide and conquers strategy. About 70% of the consolidated data has been used for development of model and the rest of the data has been used for validation of the model. Proper care has been taken such that the input data consists of all ranges of variables. From the studies, it is noted that the predicted ultimate axial load capacity of CFSTCs is found to match with the corresponding experimental observations of literature.

  • This study aims to examine the influence of capital structure on the business efficiency of joint stock commercial banks listed on the Vietnamese stock market. The article uses data collected from the financial statements of 15 prominent joint-stock commercial banks out of 27 joint-stock commercial banks listed in Vietnam from 2011 to 2021. The research uses E-view software in quantitative analysis to build regression models to determine the relationship and the impact of capital structure factors on the business efficiency of listed joint stock commercial banks. Research results show that ROA is affected by 2 variables of capital structure. It is the sum of customer deposits to total assets and total liabilities to total equity. Total debt to total equity and total customer deposits to total assets both have a negative effect on ROA. For the regression results of ROA with all control variables, the control variables have a positive relationship with the dependent variable. The article has provided recommendations based on the research findings to determine the proper capital structure. Managers must solve the outstanding amount of mobilized capital in previous years, combined with the bad debt handling activities that have arisen.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to construct and test a structural model of nursing students' performing communication skills. Methods: The data collection was conducted from October 13 to October 20, 2020. The participants were 286 students from nursing colleges located in three cities. The data analysis method was a covariance structure analysis with using IBM SPSS statistics version 23.0 and AMOS 21.0 statistical programs. Results: The hypothetical model showed a proper fit with the data: root mean square error of approximation=.08, standardized root mean square residual=.06, adjusted goodness of fit=.85, normed fit index=.91, and comparative fit index=.94. The model fit indices were normed to fit index=2.96. Statistically significant explanatory variables for the performing communication skills of nursing students were peer support, emotional intelligence, ethical sensitivity, and communication self-efficacy. The variables accounted for 66.1% of the performing communication skills of nursing students. Conclusion: Based on the above results, it appears necessary to develop strategies for improving the performing communication skills of nursing students, and having positive effects on health outcomes of the subjects by considering the variables of peer support, emotional intelligence, ethical sensitivity, and communication self-efficacy. Such strategies could potentially have positive effects on the health outcomes of the patients.

  • Recently, independent suspension systems have been applied not only to passenger cars but also to large commercial vehicles. Therefore, the need for research to domestically produce such independent suspensions for large commercial vehicles is gradually increasing. In this paper, we conducted research on the manufacturing technology of the relay lever, which are integral components of independent suspension systems for large commercial vehicles. Our goal was to reduce the flash volume generated during the forging process. The shape variables of the initial billet were adjusted to find proper forming conditions that could minimize flash volume while performing product forming smoothly. Shape variables were set as input variables and the flash volume was set as an output variable, and simulations were carried out to analytically predict the volume of the flash area for each variable condition. Based on the data obtained through numerical simulations, a regression model and an artificial neural network model were used to develop a prediction model that can easily predict the flash volume for variable conditions. For the corresponding prediction model, a goodness of-fit test was performed to confirm a high level of fit. By comparing and analyzing the two prediction models, the high level of fit of the ANN model was confirmed.

  • The study attempts to examine the effect of the capabilities of banking companies, namely the dynamic and unique capabilities, on the implementation of GCG in Indonesia. The effect of organization capabilities on the implementation of GCG is essential since both of them can demonstrate the quality of the company's ability to compete and innovate. This study will also examine the influence of moderating variables, namely the fit and proper test. The methodology used in this study is the structural equation methods and using primary data with board of directors of commercial bank in Indonesia. The test results suggest the positive direct effect of unique capabilities on GCG. The findings show that the capabilities of the top management, both unique and dynamic capabilities, influence the implementation of GCG. Then, the variable of fit and proper test can also strengthen the relationship between them. Both unique capabilities and fit and proper test have a strong and positive impact on GCG. Meanwhile, dynamic capabilities have a negative impact on GCG even though it's not significant and contradictive with earlier studies. In the context of the banking industry growth and sustainability, this matter is important to examine. Top management behavior in operating their organization is important to be investigated.
