Many ITS services require map databases in digital form to meet desired needs. Due to the dynamic nature of ITS and the sheer diversity of applications, the design and development of spatial databases to meet those needs pose a major challenge to both the public and private sectors. This challenge is further complicated by the necessity to transfer locationally referenced information between different kinds of databases and spatial data handling systems so that ITS products will work seamlessly across the region and nation. The Purpose of this paper is to develop the framework-models commonly to reference locations in the various applications and systems-the ITS Map Datum and LRS(Location Referencing System). The ITS Map Datum consists of the around control points which are the prime intersections (nodes) of the nationwide road network In this study, the major points have been determined along wish link-node modeling procedure. LRS, defined as a system for determining the position (location) of an entity relative to other entities or to some external frame of reference, has also been set up using CSOM type method. The method has been implemented using ArcView GIS software over the Kangnam and Seocho districts in the city of Seoul, showing that the implemented LRS scheme can be used successfully elsewhere. With the proper advent of the K.ITS architecture and services, the procedure can be used to improve the data sharing and to inter operate among systems, enhancing the efficiency both in terms of money and time.
This study was carried out to improve the performance of heat recovery device attached to exhaust gas flue connected to combustion chamber of greenhouse heating system. Three different units were prepared far the comparison of heat recovery performance; A-type is exactly the same with the typical one fabricated for previous study of analyzing heat recovery performance in greenhouse heating system, other two types (B-type and C-type) modified from the control unit are different in the aspects of airflow direction (U-turn airflow) and pipe arrangement. The results are summarized as follows ; 1. In the case of Type-A, when considering the initial cost and current electricity fee required for system operation, it was expected that one or two years at most would be enough to return the whole cost invested. 2. Type-B and Type-C, basically different with Type-A in the aspect of airflow pattern, are not sensitive to the change of blower capacity with higher than 25m$^3$.min$^{-1}$ . Therefore, heat recovery performance was not improved so significantly with the increment of blower capacity. This was assumed to be that air flow resistance in high air capacity reduced the heat exchange rate as well. Never the less, compared with control unit, resultant heat recovery rate of Type-B and Type-C was improved by about 5% and 13%, respectively 3. Desirable blower capacity of these heat recovery units experimented were expected to be about 25m$^3$.min$^{-1}$ , and at the proper blower capacity, U-turn airflow units showed better heat recovery performance than control unit. But, without regard to the type of heat recovery unit, it was recommended that comprehensive consideration of system's physical factors such as pipe arrangement density, unit pipe length and pipe thickness, etc., was required for the optimization of heat recovery system in the aspects of not only energy conservation but economic system design.
When a hydrofoil ship plies at high speed, there exist possibilities of collision with ocean mammals dwelling near the surface. An active sonar located within the immersed hydrofoil structure that provides the lift for the vessel, can be used for early warning of their presence. The proper functioning of the active sonar system depends on its ability to reject noise and pick up the target signal. In this article, we measured the noise on a hydrofoil of an operating ship with two flush-mounted hydrophones. The measurements were conducted for the purpose of (1) identifying the effect of operating state of machinery likes engine, cooler and generator (2) observing the change of noise depending on the measuring position (3) observing the change of noise with increasing ship speed. To verify our experiment, experiments were performed three times and the measured results are compared with other investigations and they show similarity to each other. The results are analyzed with frequency domain in order to apply to operating active sonar detecting system and focus on high frequency band within sonar's operating frequency region. Through these experiments and analysis, it is expected that we can identify the generated noise around hydrofoil where active sonar is installed and these results lead us to design active sonar that could distinguish target signal from noise more effectively.

The Sensor Networks have limitations in utilizing energies, developing energy-efficient routing protocol and secure routing protocol are important issues in Sensor Network. In the field of data management, Tributaries and Deltas(TD) which incorporates tree topology and multi-path topology effectively have been suggested to provide efficiency and robustness in data aggregation. And our research rendered hierarchical property to TD and proposed Clustering-based Tributaries-Deltas. Through this new structure, we integrated efficiency and robustness of TD structure and advantages of hierarchical Sensor Network. Clustering-based Tributaries-Deltas was proven to perform better than TD in two situations through our research. The first is when a Base Station (BS) notices received information as wrong and requests the network's sensing data retransmission and aggregation. And the second is when the BS is mobile agent with mobility. In addition, we proposed key establishment mechanism proper for the newly proposed structure which resulted in new Sensor Network structure with improved security and energy efficiency as well. We demonstrated that the new mechanism is more energy-efficient than previous one by analyzing consumed amount of energy, and realized the mechanism on TmoteSKY sensor board using TinyOS 2.0. Through this we proved that the new mechanism could be actually utilized in network design.

Interest of the hand effect on the electromagnetic wave are internationally increasing with the increase of the use of the mobile phone. IEC TC106(International Electrotechnical Commission, Technical Committee 106) promotes international research exchange program in order to reflect the effect of human hands in the standard assessment method of human exposure dosimetry by the electromagnetic wave of mobile phones. Since current commercialized hand phantom is manufactured by taking into account the average size of westerners and provides only one grip posture, it imposes many restrictions on the accurate SAR measurement. Therefore, the development of proper hand phantom accounting for domestic situation and various grip posture capability is essential in order to analyze the accurate effect of human hand on the exposure estimation. In this paper, a jelly hand phantom suitable for Korean was manufactured with various grip posture capability at 835 MHz and 1,800 MHz bands. Although the tolerances of permittivity and conductivity of the manufactured hand phantom are with ${\pm}10%$ each, it was much less than CTIA(Cellular Telecommunication Industry Association) tolerance of ${\pm}20%$ at both bands. Its 3D CAD(3 Dimensional Computer Aided Design) file which was developed can be utilized for the simulation of human hand effect on SAR measurement of mobile phones. The findings in this study can be utilized for the analysis of human hand effect on SAR measurement of a mobile phone.
Plant construction projects usually take much higher uncertainty and risks than the projects from other domains. This implies the importance of plant construction project management should be more emphasized than the other domain. Especially, the overall successes of the projects often depend on the performance of process planning and scheduling performed at the initial stage of the project. However, most plant construction projects suffer great difficulties in establishing proper process planning and scheduling timely because of unstructureness and dynamicity of environment of the project itself In this paper, we propose a knowledge-based process planning and scheduling approach in a plant construction domain to cope this problem. First, we modulize process planning knowledge and present the knowledge representation scheme. Second, we propose an inferencing mechanism to build a process planning for plant construction based on the represented process planning knowledge. Since our approach automate the initial process planning, which was usually done by manual way, it can improve the correctness and also completeness of the process plan and schedule by reducing the time to plan and allowing simulations on the various situation. We also design and implement this our approach as a real working system, and it is successfully applied to real plant construction cases from a leading construction company in Korea. Based on this success, we expect our approach can be easily applied to the projects of other areas, while contributing to enhancement in productivity and quality of project management.

XML is a standard format of web data and is currently used as a prevailing language for exchanging data. Most of the commercial data are stored in a relational database. It is quite important to convert these conventionally stored data into those for exchange and use them in data exchange, or to get the query results effectively by utilizing XQL on XML data which are store in a relational database. Thus, it is absolutely required to have a proper query processing mechanism for XML data and to maintain many XML data properly. Up to now, many cases of researches on the storage and retrieval of XML data have been carried out and under study. But, effective retrieval and storage system for path queries like XQL has yet to be contrived. Thus, in this paper, a schema to store XML data is designed, in which DFS-Numbegering method is used to store data effectively. And an effective path query processing method is also designed and implemented, in which a traditional relational database engine is used. That is, XQL is converted into SQL with a XQL processor if a user makes query XQL in a system. A database system executes SQL, and a XML generator uses a generated record and makes a XML document.

Despite rapid growth of the global SW market, the Korean market still has a long way to go to impact global power nations. What is the reason that holds back of the No. 1 high-speed Internet country in terms of SW development? It is lack of the foundation for development of the Korean SW industry. In this context, the Korean government declared SW-oriented society and developed polices for each sector; Regarding movement that tries to apply the SW partitioning order institution in public sector to IT projects, this research aims to study SI project problems expected when conducting the SW partitioning order institution and improvements focusing on the public sector that accounts for about 30% of the entire SW industry. SW partitioning order institution is divided into planning-design and development-realization stages, which may cause problems when it is applied to SI projects. As such, the study analyzed SI projects and separate and partitioning order, exemplary cases and examples of industrial projects related to partitioning order, and drew improvement measures from institutional, technological and managerial viewpoints. The research aims to help people involved in IT projects sell SW at proper prices and improve the environment, and presents directions to create a system that strengthens competitiveness of the SW industry and SI projects by providing solutions to problems that suppliers and demanders should recognize before implementing the SW partitioning order institution.
A Software Component is a module that is reused among a lot of projects, systems, and companies rather than a single application. Components can be reused in various systems if they provide not only the common functionalities required in many applications but also the diverse aspects to be customized for being suitable for customers' demands. From the development phase, components should be designed and developed considering the variable aspects they have for convenient customization. Easily customized components can be frequently reused in lots of applications. In the literature, there are some modeling and customizing techniques. But they suggested only conceptual or basic methods based on Object-Oriented. And the practical instructions for reusing component were not provided sufficiently. Moreover, there are few techniques that consider the proper variability types components have. Thus, those techniques are not appropriate for applying to black box component completely developed and released. In this paper, we classify variabilities that components have in functional aspect into two categories. The one is logic variability, and the other is workflow variability. For each classified variability, we propose the three kind of modeling techniques, which are selection, plug in and externalization. Also detailed instructions for practical design and application are provided.
Due to the Korea's topographic characteristic, there are a lot of marine bridges to connect between islands and mainland. In addition, marine bridges play an important role in a regional landscape. For these reasons, landscape design of bridge is necessary in order to improve beautification of region. So, this studies analyzed image and landscape preference of marine bridges in rural area. The main results were summarized as follows: When rating the image of the background in sea and mountain image, 'stable' and 'natural' were rated highly. When rating the image of the arch bridge in sea and mountain image, 'beautiful', and 'attractive' were rated highly. When rating the image of the cable-stayed bridge in sea and mountain image, 'splendid', and 'attractive' were rated highly. When rating the image of the suspension bridge in sea and mountain image, 'beautiful', and 'splendid' were rated highly. Next, When rating the image of the background in sea and building image, 'stable' and 'natural' were rated highly. When rating the image of the arch bridge in sea and building image, 'beautiful', and 'splendid' were rated highly. When rating the image of the cable-stayed bridge in sea and building image, 'beautiful', and 'attractive' were rated highly. When rating the image of the suspension bridge in sea and building image, 'beautiful', and 'attractive' were rated highly. And, The image of suspension bridges in sea and mountain image is more highly preferred than other image. The background in sea and mountain image is landscape of the lowest preference. In the mountain and sea image, the preference of suspension bridge landscape has the highest rating. In the sea and building image, the preference of arch bridge landscape has the highest rating. In conclusion, the results illustrate that the marine bridge's shape and its background in rural area are important elements of a visual preference. When designing the marine bridge, designer have to choose a proper bridge shape for its background. However, this research's limitation is that this research consider only bridge shape and background to analyze landscape preference of marine bridges. Therefore, further research is necessary to consider various elements.
