  • This paper is concerned with the reverse link performance of multi-code CDMA systems in multipath fading environments. The degree of orthogonality loss among multiple spreading code channels is characterized as the orthogonality factor. It depends on various system parameters including multipath power profiles of propagation channels and the number of Paths resolved at a Rake receiver. The effect of the parameters on the system performance is then investigated in terms of bit error rate and required signal quality. The results show that multipath delay power profiles dominantly affect mutual interference among multi-code channels and multipath combining gain by bandwidth expansion is not so great due to the increase of the mutual interference. Moreover, the orthogonality factor is derived as the value of between (1/m) and 1.

  • Before we have made known the study of shape development of interference device for vehicle noise control. It's primary object greatly attenuate the noise due to transport vehicle by small products installed on the noise barrier edge. Also, it is able to improve the insertion loss of a noise barrier without increasing the height. The present time, we set up a newly manufactured products on the noise barrier edge and testify to it's the performance make use of an experiment and evaluation. In this paper the performance of noise barriers with attached newly developed products in terms of shape, absorptive material and split panel, are examined using field test.

  • Untill now, the most well-known cofiguration for waveguide grating router(WGR) is composed of radiative star couplers and arrayed waveguide grating(AWG), which usually suffer form the rdiation loss of around 3dB or more. Therefore, te improved design of WGRs is needed to reduce the loss. In ths paper, we propose a novel WGR composed of multimode interference couplers which have good unifiormity, fabrication tolerance, and very low excess loss, and suggest the efficient algorithm to find the proper path length differences of AWG for given channel spacing and channel assignment to each output prot. The simulated spectral responses of the proposed WGR using the finite difference beam propagation method (BPM) show that the excess loss is less than 0.3dB and the crosstalk less than -25dB in case of 4x4 WGR, and the excess loss less than 0.4dB and the crosstalk less than -25dB in case of 8x8 WGR for all the channel wavelengths.

  • The third generation mobile communications system requiring the reliable multimedia data transmission has provided with the reliable voice, data and video services over the variable propagation environment. However the broadband wireless multiple access technologies cause Inter Symbol Interference (ISI) or Multiple Access Interference (MAI) to degrade the performance of W-CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) system. Constant Modulus Algorithm (CMA) which is frequently used as the adaptive blind equalizers to remove the interfering signal has ill-convergence phenomenon without proper initialization. In this paper, new blind equalization method based on conventional CMA is proposed to improve the channel efficiency, and through computer simulation this is tested over the time varying fading environment of mobile communication system. Consequently, new blind equalization method into concatenated Kalman filter with CMA is verified better than conventional CMA through adopting minimum mean square errors and eye-pattern obtained from algorithm are compared.

  • In the wide variety of radio propagation channel models, frequency selective fading which from multipath waves and diversity noises, electric and electronic devices ...etc in our environment, change characteristics of the sub channels in the wide bandwidth. so orthogonality among the OFDM subcarriers would be distorted and ICI(Inter Channel Interference), ISI(Inter Symbol Interference) be generated. This paper investigate BER characteristics of the OFDM System using Subband Grouping Method which adopted different channel modulation for each subband.

  • The coherence properties of electromagnetic fields are reviewed, based on both the classical and quantum theories. The elementary concepts, employed frequently in the discussion of interference phenomena, are summarized. The well-known interference phenomena are described in terms of second-order coherences. The coherence theory in space-frequency domain is introduced and the coherent mode representation is presented. The generation and propagation of coherence of light are analysed and it is shown that the coherence of light is developed as light propagates. The quantum theory goes parallel with the classical theory, via the optical equivalence theorem. There are, however, certain nonclassical characteristics of light, which may not be easily understood in classical therms. These nonclassical phenomena are believed to originate from the particle aspects of light. The quantum effect on the interfernce phenomena is analysed and finally the outlook of the future research is briefly mentioned.

  • For the sake of the potential ability of overcoming interference in TD-SCDMA(time division-synchronous code division multiple access) systems, pilot signal is adopted, but the presented TD-SCDMA protocol has not considered the Rake technique for their mobile terminals. This paper developed a RAKE receiver algorithm and an implementation circuit, which make use of the pilot signal in the burst structure of the TD-SCDMA base station to estimate main channel parameter(channel delays) in the downlink of TD-SCDMA wireless network. The algorithm can reduce multipath interference for the mobile units in multiusers' case. Theoretic performance analysis presented in the paper and computer simulations show that there is a range of BER for Rake receiver and confirm that the proposed RAKE receiver algorithm achieved a better performance under multipath fading propagation and multiusers conditions.

  • In this paper, due to the congestion the radio spectrum, frequency bands are shared among the satellite communication system. Therefore for satisfactory we have to design and predict with reasonable accuracy the level of interference that might exist among them, Interference among the satellite communication systems depends on many factors such as climate, radio frequency, time percentage of interest, distance and path topography, propagation delay time. This paper suggest design method of Low-Orbit satellite communication and calculates the field-of view of satellite, for the communication era using LEO. In addition, performs performance evaluation on the basis of link margine.

  • Recently, the symmetric superposition coding (SSC) [3] is proposed for a solution for the error propagation (EP) due to the non-perfect successive interference cancelation (SIC) in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). We analyze the performance of NOMA with the SSC. It is shown that the performance of the SSC NOMA is the same as that of NOMA with the normal superposition coding (NSC) for the power allocation factor less than 20%, the SSC NOMA performance is better than the NSC NOMA performance up to the power allocation factor 80%, and the SSC NOMA performs worse than the NSC NOMA for the power allocation factor greater than 80%. As a result, the SSC should be used with consideration of the power allocation.

  • To investigate the characteristics of internal waves (IWs) and their effects on acoustic wave propagation, a series of sea experiment were performed in the east coast of Donghae city, Korea in 1997 and 1998 where the water depth varies between 130 and 140 m. Thermistor strings were deployed to measure water temperatures simultaneously at 9 depths. CW source signals with the frequencies of 250,670 and 1000 Hz were received by an array of 15 hydrophones. Through the Wavelet transform analysis, the IWs are characterized as having typical periods of 2-17 min and duration of 1-2 hours. The IWs exist in a group of periods rather than in one period. Underwater acoustic signals also show obvious energy peaks in the periods of less than 12 min. Consistency in the periods of the two physical processes implies that acoustic waves react to the IWs through some mechanisms like mode interference and travel time fluctuation. Based on the thermistor string data, mode arriving structures are analyzed. As thermocline depth varies with time, it may cause travel time difference as much as 4-10 ms between mode 1 and 2 over 10 km range. This travel time difference causes interference among modes and thus fluctuation from range-independent stratified ocean structure. In real situations, however, there exist additional spatial variation of IWs. Model simulations with all modes and simple IWs show clear responses of acoustic signals to the IWs, i.e., fluctuations of amplitude and phase.
