Adjustive Media의 feedback을 수반한 작품 제작 방법 (The process for adjustive media as design method with feedback)

  • 기존의 인터랙티브 아트나 엔터테인먼트 시스템의 대부분은 다음의 세 단계로 구성된다. 체험자의 행동 촉구, 체험자의 행동, 그리고 시스템의 응답으로 이루어진다. 그들은 이러한 연속적인 프로세스가 지속과 반복을 수행하는 것을 전제로 하지 않는, 각 상호 작용의 개념을 표현하기 위해 설계되었다. 이와 반대의 접근 방식은 지속적이고 반복적인 경험을 작품의 개념을 전달하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 접근 방식에 따라 작업 유형으로 "Adjustive Media"를 제안한다. Adjustive Media는 체험자가 그 작품 체험을 지속하고 반복 체험하는 것으로, 체험자 자신이 작가의 의도에 따라 체험에 접근 할 수 있는 작품 형식이다. 본 논문은 디자인 방법으로 Adjustive 미디어에 대해 3개의 디자인 프로세스를 제안하고, Adjustive 미디어의 프로토 타입을 소개하여 디자인 프로세스의 가능성과 새로운 사용자 경험을 제공하는 작품 형식의 제작 방법에 대해 고찰하고자 한다.

Iron Homeostasis Controls Myeloid Blood Cell Differentiation in Drosophila

  • Iron is an essential divalent ion for aerobic life. Life has evolved to maintain iron homeostasis for normal cellular and physiological functions and therefore imbalances in iron levels exert a wide range of consequences. Responses to iron dysregulation in blood development, however, remain elusive. Here, we found that iron homeostasis is critical for differentiation of Drosophila blood cells in the larval hematopoietic organ, called the lymph gland. Supplementation of an iron chelator, bathophenanthroline disulfate (BPS) results in an excessive differentiation of the crystal cell in the lymph gland. This phenotype is recapitulated by loss of Fer1HCH in the intestine, indicating that reduced levels of systemic iron enhances crystal cell differentiation. Detailed analysis of Fer1HCH-tagged-GFP revealed that Fer1HCH is also expressed in the hematopoietic systems. Lastly, blocking Fer1HCH expression in the mature blood cells showed marked increase in the blood differentiation of both crystal cells and plasmatocytes. Thus, our work suggests a relevance of systemic and local iron homeostasis in blood differentiation, prompting further investigation of molecular mechanisms underlying iron regulation and cell fate determination in the hematopoietic system.

Vascularized Bipedicled Pericranial Flaps for Reconstruction of Chronic Scalp Ulcer Occurring after Cranioplasty

  • Background Intractable chronic scalp ulcers with cranial bone exposure can occur along the incision after cranioplasty, posing challenges for clinicians. They occur as a result of severe scarring, poor blood circulation of the scalp, and focal osteomyelitis. We successfully repaired these scalp ulcers using a vascularized bipedicled pericranial flap after complete debridement. Methods Six patients who underwent cranioplasty had chronic ulcers where the cranial bone, with or without the metal plate, was exposed along the incision line. After completely excising the ulcer and the adjacent scar tissue, subgaleal dissection was performed. We removed the osteomyelitic calvarial bone, the exposed metal plate, and granulation tissue. A bipedicled pericranial flap was elevated to cover the defect between the bone graft or prosthesis and the normal cranial bone. It was transposed to the defect site and fixed using an absorbable suture. Scalp flaps were bilaterally advanced after relaxation incisions on the galea, and were closed without tension. Results All the surgical wounds were completely healed with an improved aesthetic outcome, and there were no notable complications during a mean follow-up period of seven months. Conclusions A bipedicled pericranial flap is vascularized, prompting wound healing without donor site morbidity. This may be an effective modality for treating chronic scalp ulcer accompanied by the exposure of the cranial bone after cranioplasty.

노인의 전립샘 비대증상, 일상생활 수행능력 및 수면의 질 (The Relationship of Late-Life Function and Disability(LLFDI) with Quality of Sleep in Older Men with Prostatic Hypertrophic Symptoms)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between LLFDI and quality of sleep in older men with prostatic hypertrophic symptoms. Methods: The secondary analysis of data collected for the 2nd stage BK(Brain Korea)21 project was performed. The original data were collected using a cross-sectional, face-to-face, and private interview method. The questionnaires consisted of prostatic hypertrophic symptoms, late-life function and disability, quality of sleep, and demographic profiles. Results: A total of 112 older men included in this study. The major findings of this study were as follow; 1) 29.5% of participants had more than moderate symptoms of prostatic hypertrophy. 2) There were a significant positive correlation of prostatic hypertrophic symptoms with subjective sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep disturbances, use of sleeping medication, and daytime dysfunction found, whereas there was a negative relationship with frequency dimension. 3) The LLFDI is significantly associated with urgency, weak stream, and intermittency. The quality of sleep is significantly associated with weak stream which explained 11.2% of variance. Conclusion: These results may contribute to a better understanding late-life function and disability, quality of sleep in older men with prostatic hypertrophic symptoms. Therefore, health programs for prompting older men's health should be planned based on results of the study.

일지역 중년여성의 갱년기증상, 우울, 삶의 질에 대한 연구 (A Study on Climacteric Symptoms, Depression and Quality of Life in Middle-Aged Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between self reported climacteric symptoms, and depression, and the quality of life in middle aged women. Method: The subjects of this study were 149 women from 40 to 64 years of age. Climacteric symptoms were measured with Neugarton's tool(1965) and depression with Zung's tool. Quality of life was related to self reported climacteric symptoms were education level (F=3.011, p=.035), income measured by Rho's tool(1988). Result: The general characteristic variables significantly level (F=2.670, p=.057), income satisfaction (F=3.413. p=.011), perceived subjective health condition(F=28.623, p=.000). The general characteristic variables significantly related to depression were age(t=-2.476, p=.014), education level (F=4.492, p.013). income satisfaction (F=2.845, p.026), perceived subjective health condition (F = 8.468, p=.000). The general characteristics variables significantly related to quality of life were income level (F= 5.010, p=.000), income satisfaction (F=6.314, p=.000), perceived subjective health condition (F=3.516, p<=.032). menstruation cycles(t=-2.66, p=.023). The relationship between self reported climacteric symptoms and depression had a statistically a positive correlation (r=.357, p=.000). The relationship between depression and quality of life had a statistically with a negative correlation(r=-.397, p=.000). Conclusion: These results may contribute to a better understanding of depression and quality of life in middle aged women. Therefore, health programs for prompting climacteric women´s health should be a planned based on results of the study.

청소년의 충동성, 자아존중감, 우울수준이 학교생활 적응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Impulsive Behavior, Self Esteem, and Depression on School Adjustment of Adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 청소년을 대상으로 청소년의 충동성, 자아존중감, 우울 정도가 학교생활 적응에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 시도되었다. 연구 대상은 2010년 10월 1일부터 11월 30일까지 K시 소재 2개의 중학교에 재학 중인 중학생 415명이었으며, 수집된 자료는 빈도, 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, 상관관계분석 및 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교생활 적응은 충동성(r= -.53), 자아존중감(r= .51), 우울 정도(r= -.56)와 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 중학생의 학교생활 적응을 설명해주는 변인으로 학업성적, 충동성, 자아존중감, 우울 정도가 나타났으며, 51.8%의 설명력을 나타냈다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과는 중학생의 학교생활 적응과 충동성, 자아존중감, 우울 정도에 대한 이해를 돕고, 중학생의 학교생활 적응을 증진하기 위한 간호중재의 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Identification, Fermentation, and Bioactivity Against Xanthomonas oryzae of Antimicrobial Metabolites Isolated from Phomopsis longicolla S1B4

  • Bacterial blight, an important and potentially destructive bacterial disease in rice, is caused by Xanthomonas oryzae. Recently, this organism has developed resistance to available antibiotics, prompting scientists to find a suitable alternative. This study focused on secondary metabolites of Phomopsis longicolla to target X. oryzae. Five bioactive compounds were isolated by activity-guided fractionation from ethyl acetate extracts of mycelia and were identified by LC/MS and NMR spectroscopy as dicerandrol A, dicerandrol B, dicerandrol C, deacetylphomoxanthone B, and fusaristatin A. This is the first time fusaristatin A has been isolated from Phomopsis sp. Deacetylphomoxanthone B showed a higher antibacterial effect against X. oryzae KACC 10331 than the positive control (2,4-diacetyphloroglucinol). Dicerandrol A also showed high antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis) and yeast (Candida albicans). In addition, high production yields of these compounds were obtained at the stationary and death phases.

Ionotropic Receptor 76b Is Required for Gustatory Aversion to Excessive Na+ in Drosophila

  • Avoiding ingestion of excessively salty food is essential for cation homeostasis that underlies various physiological processes in organisms. The molecular and cellular basis of the aversive salt taste, however, remains elusive. Through a behavioral reverse genetic screening, we discover that feeding suppression by $Na^+$-rich food requires Ionotropic Receptor 76b (Ir76b) in Drosophila labellar gustatory receptor neurons (GRNs). Concentrated sodium solutions with various anions caused feeding suppression dependent on Ir76b. Feeding aversion to caffeine and high concentrations of divalent cations and sorbitol was unimpaired in Ir76b-deficient animals, indicating sensory specificity of Ir76b-dependent $Na^+$ detection and the irrelevance of hyperosmolarity-driven mechanosensation to Ir76b-mediated feeding aversion. Ir76b-dependent $Na^+$-sensing GRNs in both L- and s-bristles are required for repulsion as opposed to the previous report where the L-bristle GRNs direct only low-$Na^+$ attraction. Our work extends the physiological implications of Ir76b from low-$Na^+$ attraction to high-$Na^+$ aversion, prompting further investigation of the physiological mechanisms that modulate two competing components of $Na^+$-evoked gustation coded in heterogeneous Ir76b-positive GRNs.

Antiviral Activity of Chrysin Derivatives against Coxsackievirus B3 in vitro and in vivo

  • Chrysin is a 5,7-dihydroxyflavone and was recently shown to potently inhibit enterovirus 71 (EV71) by suppressing viral 3C protease ($3C^{pro}$ activity. In the current study, we investigated whether chrysin also shows antiviral activity against coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3), which belongs to the same genus (Enterovirus) as EV71, and assessed its ability to prevent the resulting acute pancreatitis and myocarditis. We found that chrysin showed antiviral activity against CVB3 at $10{\mu}M$, but exhibited mild cellular cytotoxicity at $50{\mu}M$, prompting us to synthesize derivatives of chrysin to increase the antiviral activity and reduce its cytotoxicity. Among four 4-substituted benzyl derivatives derived from C(5) benzyl-protected derivatives 7, 9-11 had significant antiviral activity and showed the most potent activity against CVB3 with low cytotoxicity in Vero cells. Intraperitoneal injection of CVB3 in BALB/c mice with $1{\times}10^6TCID_{50}$ (50% tissue culture infective dose) of CVB3 induced acute pancreatitis with ablation of acinar cells and increased serum CXCL1 levels, whereas the daily administration of 9 for 5 days significantly alleviated the pancreatic inflammation and reduced the elevation in serum CXCL1 levels. Collectively, we assessed the anti-CVB3 activities of chrysin and its derivatives, and found that among 4-substituted benzyl derivatives, 9 exhibited the highest activity against CVB3 in vivo, and protected mice from CVB3-induced pancreatic damage, simultaneously lowering serum CXCL1 levels.

  • 1960~70년대 도시의 무분별한 개발로 2000년대에 들어 도심은 공간 활용을 높이는 개발이 필요로 하게 되었다. 이에 2003년 도시 및 주거환경정비법이 개정되어 이전의 도심재개발사업 등이 도시환경정비사업으로 바뀌어 진행 되고 있다. 최근의 도시환경정비사업은 대형화 복합화의 대규모 사업으로 진행되고 있다. 이러한 사업은 다양한 참여 주제자, 이해관계자, 사업시행자 등 사이의 원활한 의사소통을 중요시 하고 있으나 표준화된 업무 절차가 없어 어려움이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 도시환경정비사업 중에 조합방식의 절치를 분석하고, BPMN(Business Process Modeling Notation) 모델링 방식을 통해 도식화하여 다양한 참여 주체자들에게 공통의 업무프로세스 모델을 제시함으로써 참여 주체자들이 절차를 쉽게 파악하고 이해할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 더 나아가 의사소통을 원활하게 하고 사업의 참여도를 높여 사업 기간을 단축하는 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.
