  • The aim of this study is to investigate the prolongations of G-structures immersed in the generalized almost r-contact structure on a manifold M to its tangent bundle T(M) of order 2. Moreover, theorems on Hsu structure, integrability and (${F\limits^{\circ}},\;{{\xi}\limits^{\circ}}{{\omega}\limits^{\circ}}_p,\;a,\;{\epsilon}$)-structure have been established.

  • A mutigrid convergence acceleration technique is presented for computing hypersonic inviscid and viscous flows in equilibrium state. The governing equations are solved using an explicit Runge-Kutta method. Curve fitting data in NASA Reference Publication 1181, 1260 are used to calculate equilibrium properties. In order to ensure stability, damped prolongation and modified implicit residual smoothing are proposed. Blunt body test cases are presented to demonstrate the robustness and the efficiency in performance of the proposed methods

  • In order to search a more active and safer compound, piperine derivatives with substituents in piperidine residue were synthesized and evaluated on CNS depressant activity. N-Piperoyl-2-methylpiperidine (I) and N-piperoyl-3-methylpiperidine (II) were potent in strychnine-induced convulsion. Compound I and N-piperoyl-3-hydroxypiperidine (IX) exhibited a potent inhibitory effect againt pentetrazoleinduced convulsion and a significant prolongation effect of hexobarbital-induced sleeping time. The hydroxy derivatives were more toxic than the methyl derivatives.

  • Safety pharmacology studies are conducted to investigated the potential undesirable pharmacodynamic effects of a substance on physiological functions in relation to exposure in the therapeutic range and above. In the International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH), the guideline 'S7A: Safety Pharmacology Studies for Human Pharmaceuticals' has been developed and reached Step 5 of the ICH process in 2001. Now the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) are going to transfer 'The Guideline for General Pharmacology' into 'The Guideline for Safety Pharmacology'. Safety pharmacology studies should be performed in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). Thus, the present paper reviews the Japanese GLP guidelines for pharmaceuticals to help the conduct and inspection of safety pharmacology studies in compliance with GLP. We also reviewed the ICH guidelines 'S7B revised : The Nonclinical Evaluation of the Potential for Delayed Ventricular Repolarization (QT Interval Prolongation) by Human Pharmaceuticals' and 'E14 : The Clinical Evaluation of QT/QTc Interval Prolongation and Proarrhythmic Potential for Non-antiarrhythmic Drugs' to apply our drug approval systems.

고양이에서 체표냉각에 따른 심혈관계 변동에 관한 연구 (Cardiovascular Changes of Cat in Hypothermia)

  • Hypothermia is an essential preparatory procedure for cardiac surgery, which lows the metabolic rate and myocardial oxygen demand. However, hypothermia itself is a stress enough to change the tonus of sympathoadrenal system, especially the cardiovascular responses to the catecholamines. It is reported that the positive chronotropic and inotropic response of catecholamines is exaggerated during hypothermia because of decreased norepinephrine uptake at the junctional cleft or decreased catecholamine metabolism. On the other hand, there are evidences of diminished catecholamines responses in low temperature ana further, interconversion of adrenergic receptors is also suggested. Present investigation was planned to observe the cardiovascular changes and its responses to catecholamines during surface hypothermia in cat. Healthy mongrel cats, weighing $2{\sim}3\;kg$, anesthetized with secobarbital(30 mg/kg), were permitted to hypothermia by external cooling technic. Esophageal temperature, ECG (lead II), heart rate, left ventricular pressure with dP/dt, carotid artery pressure and left ventricular contractile force were monitored with Polygragh (Model 7, Grass), and the respiration was maintained with artificial respirator (V 5 KG, Narco). Followings are summarized results. 1) Surface cooling caused progressive decrease of body temperature and reached $l8.8{\pm}0.8^{\circ}C$ and $16.9{\pm}0.6^{\circ}C$ in 120 and 150 min respectively, after immersion into ice water, and ventricular fibrillation was developed at $20.4{\pm}0.65^{\circ}C$. 2) Heart rate, blood pressure and myocardial contractility were decreased after initial increase as the body temperature falls. 3) Systolic and diastolicdd P/dt of left ventricular pressure were decreased and that the decrement of diastolic dP/dt was more marked. 4) On ECG, ST depression, Twave inversion and prolongation of PR interval were prominent in hypothermia, and moreover, the prolongation of PR interval was marked just prior to the development of ventricular fibrillation. 5) The cardiovascular responses to catecholamines, especially to isoproterenol, were suppressed under hypothermia.

축분 유기질비료의 고형화에 의한 비효 연장 (Fertility Prolongation of the Solid Typed Organic Fertilizer from Cattle Manure)

  • 축분 유기질 성분을 고형화된 막대 형태고 조형하여 작물 뿌리 주위에 관입하게 되면 작업과정의 단순화와 비효의 유실을 줄이고 비효 지속 기간을 연장 시키어 작물의 근계 발육에 매우 효과적일 것으로 사료된다. 따라서 본 연구는 화학 비료, 분말 형태의 유기질 비료와 막대형 유기질 비료의 비효를 비교하고 작육의 생장 형태를 분석하여 축분의 막대화에 따른 유기질 비료의 효과지속성을 측정하는데 목적을 두고 실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 분말형태의 축분 사용보다는 고형화된 막대형태의 유기질 축분이 비효의 유출을 줄이고 작물 지상부와 근계발달을 촉진시켜 유기질 비료 특유의 완효성 비효의 지속에 효과가 있다는 것이 증명되었다. 특히 멀칭 후에는 분말 형태의 축분 시비가 불가능하나, 이를 막대 형태로 고형화하여 작물 근계 주위에 관입하게 되면 작업과정의 단순화해지며, 수확 후에도 토양 비옥도를 지속적으로 유지 시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다.

HMM과 연결 숫자음의 후처리를 이용한 음성 다이얼링에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Voice Dialing using HMM and Post Processing of the Connected Digits)

  • 본 논문은 HMM과 연결 숫자음의 후처리를 이용한 음성 다이얼링에 관한 연구이다. HMM(Hidden Markov Model)은 좋은 결과를 보이면서 현재 음성 인식 분야에서 널리 사용되는 알고리즘이다. 그러나, HMM의 학습 방법인 maximum like-lihood estimation은 인식률을 극대화하는 모델의 파라메터 값을 생성하지 못하는 단점이 었다. 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위하여 Segmental K-means 학습 과정에 후저리를 이용하여 인식 실험을 하였다. 한국어 연속 숫자음은 영어 연속 숫자음과 달리 연음 현상의 영향을 많이 받는다. Level Building 과정에서 연음에 의한 오류를 감소시키기 위해 연음에 의해 발생할 수 있는 단어를 별도의 모델로 추가하였다. 이렇게 추가된 단어 모델들에 대한 몇 가지 규칙을 인식 결과에 적용하여 출력을 다시 조정한다. 본 시 스템은 TMS320C30 프로세서를 내장한 DSP 보드와 IBM PC 상에서 구현되었고, 표준 패턴은 실험실 잡음 환경에서 남성 화자3명을 대상으로 작성하였다. 인식 실험 결과 21종 전화 번호 252개 데이타에 대하여 화자 종속의 경우 $91.6\%$, 회자 독립의 경우 $80.5\%$의 인식률을 나타내었다.

The corrected QT (QTc) prolongation in hyperthyroidism and the association of thyroid hormone with the QTc interval

  • Purpose: Ventricular repolarization is assessed using the QT interval corrected by the heart rate (QTc) via an electrocardiogram (ECG). Prolonged QTc is associated with an increased risk of arrhythmias and cardiac mortality. As there have been few reports regarding the effects of hyperthyroidism on ventricular repolarization, we studied the association between serum free thyroxine (free T4 [fT4]) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels and the QTc interval. Methods: Thirty-eight patients with hyperthyroidism (<30 years old) were included, and we used their clinical records and available ECGs (between August 2003 and August 2011) to evaluate the association between their fT4 and TSH levels and their QTc interval. In addition, we studied the ECGs of 72 age-matched patients with no hyperthyroidism (control group) and compared their data with that from the patients group. Results: The QTc duration in patients with hyperthyroidism was significantly prolonged compared to that in the control subjects (P<0.001). In addition, the number of hyperthyroid patients with abnormal prolonged QTc was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.001). Among the patients with hyperthyroidism, patients with prolonged QTc and borderline QTc had higher fT4 levels and there was positive correlation between their fT4 levels and their QTc interval (P<0.05). However, no correlation was observed between their TSH levels and their QTc interval. Conclusion: We report that hyperthyroidism is associated with QTc prolongation. The correlation between the fT4 levels and the QTc interval suggests that thyroid status is associated with QTc values and the risk of cardiac mortality.

진공예냉과 저온유통에 의한 양상추의 선도 연장 (Freshness Prolongation of Crisphead Lettuce by Vacuum Cooling and Cold-Chain System)

  • 양상추의 선도 연장 및 저온유통시스템 도입을 위하여 특별히 설계, 제작한 실험용 진공예냉장치를 이용하여 예냉처리한 후 저온유통시키면서 선도 연장 효과를 조사하였다. 양상추의 호흡 속도에 대한 온도계수$(Q_{10})$$1.7{\sim}2.4$, 초기 빙결점은 $-0.2^{\circ}C$로 나타났으며, 진공예냉장치를 이용해 30분 이내에 $0^{\circ}C$까지 냉각이 가능하였다. 한편 기존의 상온 유통, 예냉처리후 냉장차, 보냉차 및 상온트럭을 이용한 수송 과정중의 품온 변화가 측정되었다. 아울러 처리 방법별로 수송후 $5^{\circ}C$에 저온 보관중 품질 변화가 조사되었으며 진공예냉후 냉장차를 이용해 수송한 경우 기존 상온 유통 양상추에 비하여 저장기간이 90% 이상 연장되었다.
