Stellate ganglion block is most commonly used in pain clinic because it is an easy procedure and it has broad indications reported that Angina pectoris, tachyarrhythmia and long QT syndrome (LQTS) are indicated. LQTS is a disorder of the abnormalities of cardiac sympathetic innervation and of myocardial repolarization. LQTS is characterized by marked prolongation of the QT interval, often manifestating as syncope, seizures, or sudden death due to polymorphic ventricular tachyarrhythmia known as torsades de pointes. Treatment of symptomatic patients usually begin with beta blocker. The elective treatment of LQTS patients unresponsive to beta blocker is the left cardiac sympathetic denervation. We report a case of LQTS patient who had received stellate ganglion block.

Physiological toxic and mutagenic effects of gramoxone in Drosophila melanogaster were invetigated. Gramoxone was highly toxic on the development, resulting in of lowering the viability and in prolongation of the developmental times. Adults treated with gramoxone during the developmental stages caused a lowering of the productivity and a little chinge in protein quantity. But the effect on the sex-linked lethal mutagenesis was found to be negative. The order of mortality causing ado리t stoa형e feeding to gramoxone in the D. melanogaster complex was like this ; D. mauritiana, D. sechellia, D. simulans and D. melanogasteu Two species of the D. yakuba complex were alike. Those results were more or less correlation with speciation of the D. melanogaster subgroup.

Gamiinjinoryung-San is composed of eight crude drugs including Artemisiae capillaris Herba which is widely used for the treatment of acute jaundice, acute and chronic hepatitis at the Oriental hospital of Kyung-Hee Medical Center. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of water extract of Gamiinjinoryung-San on the liver function. The results obtained were as follows; the extract markedly reduced LDH and ALP activities, but slightly decreased GOT and GPT activities elevated with D-galactosamine in rat serum. The liver protective activities were shown in $CCl_4-intoxicated\;rats$. The extract prevented the prolongation of sleeping time in $CCl_4-intoxicated\;rats$. The bile flow and the biliary bile acid secretion were significantly increased in normal rats.

선천성 심기형과 흉벽기형이 동반되어 있는 경우 이 두 질환을 동시에 수술하는 경우에 변형된 늑연골의 광범위한 절제에 따른 합병증이 단점으로 지적되고 있다. 본원 흉부외과에서는 부분 방실중격 결손증과 오목가슴이 동반된 8세 환아에서 개심술 시에 Nuss 술식을 이용하여 오목가슴을 교정함으로써 광범위한 늑골절제에 따른 수술시간의 지연이나 출혈, 흉벽의 불안정성 등의 단점없이 좋은 결과를 얻었기에 이를 보고하는 바이다.

This paper calculates and gives the analysis of electron swarm transport coefficients as described electric conductive characteristics of pure Ar, pure $SiH_4$, $Ar-SiH_4$ mixture gases ($SiH_4$--0.5%, 2.5%, 5%) over the range of E/N =$0.01{\sim}300$[Td], P=0.1, 1, 5.0[Torr] by Monte Carlo the Backward prolongation method of the Boltzmann equation using computer simulation without using expensive equipment. The results have been obtained by using the electron collision cross sections by TOF, PT SST sampling, compared with the experimental data determined by the other author. It also proved the reliability of the electron collision cross sections and shows the practical values of computer simulation.

In today's building industry the emphasis has been geared more towards construction, thus building maintenance and life cycle have been neglected until now. A direct result of this neglect is the rapid aging of building, which leads to more cost-effective decision making methods for the prolongation of building life span. The following study is conducted in the area of Daegu and Seoul in order to develop the estimation analysis method of the annual operation cost of the Korean high-rise condominiums for the cost-effective decision making support through mathematical and statistical analyses including the present value and standardized measurement corrections. Based on the assumption that the life expectancy of the high rise condominium is 50 years, initial cost is ￦421,212/$m^2$, and a total sum of yearly operation cost during life expectancy is ￦2,154,499//$m^2$), yearly accumulated operation cost is shown as below: $AOC=0.7097t^4-38.803t^3+806.95t^2+11045t-496.52$ ($R^2=0.98$) (Here, AOC = Accumulated Operation Cost, t = given years)

This study was carried out particutarly focusing on the antitumor effects of extracts obtained from mushroom, Daedalea dickinsii against Hela cell, Hep $G_{2}$, cell, L 929 cell and Sarcoma-180. Antitumor effect of hot water extracts obtained from Daedalea dickinsii against Hela cell showed at the highest level of 70% when adiministrated at the concentration of 1.5 mg/100 ml, however Hep $G_{2}$, cell inhibited 40% at the same concentration of hot water extracts. Antitumor effects of methanol extract of Daedalea dickinsii against Hela cell indicated at the highest level of 60% when 4 mg/ml was administerated. Antitumor effect of hot water extract of Daedalea dickinsii inhibited 51.03% against L929 cell. The solid tumor sarcoma-180 growth inhibition of methanol extract of Deadalea dickinsii inhibited 45.67% when administrated at the concentration of 60mg/kg, and the life prolongation was higher 30.88% than that control group.

Some components and antitumor effect of antler and fermented antler with Bacillus P-92 were determined. By fermenting the antler with Bacillus P-92, the amount of free amino acids, polypeptides and other compounds were increased. The free amino acid of the fermented antler was 6-fold higher than those of the untreated antler. Sarcoma 180 cells were intraperitoneally implanted into ICR mice to determine the effect of fermented antler and untreated antler on life span prolongation. The life span of ICR mouse treated with antler and fermented antler were prolonged to 24.4% and 39.2%(p<0.05), and survival rates were 22% and 33%, respectively. In addition, the induction of neutrophil was 2.3-fold and 3.4-fold, respectively.

The major cause of deterioration for the bare concrete bridge decks exposed to de-icing chemicals would be chloride-induced reinforcement corrosion. Thus, in this paper, in order to predict time to corrode for concrete bridge decks on highways, the chloride concentration was measured with depth from the surface. Then, the surface chloride concentration and apparent diffusion coefficient were calculated by regression. The premature failure of bare concrete decks were mostly related with thin cover depth and poor concrete property(high permeability). The good protection of deck surface might contribute to the prolongation of the service life of bare concrete bridge decks.
