SNU AGN Monitoring Project (SAMP) using reverberation mapping of luminous AGNs

  • The links between super-massive black hole masses and their host galaxy properties are observed, indicating that black hole growth and host galaxy evolution are closely related. Reverberation mapping, which uses the time delay from the central black hole to broad line regions, is one of the best methods to estimate masses of black holes of active galactic nuclei (AGNs). However, only masses of about 50 black holes have been determined in reverberation mapping studies so far, and most of them are limited to optical luminosities below 10^45 erg/s due to the challenges of long-term time domain observations in both photometry and spectroscopy. In this project, we expand reverberation mapping samples to higher luminosities of > 10^44.5 erg/s at 0.1 < z < 0.35, that have expected time lags of 40 - 250 light days. Photometric (using LOAO 1-m and MDM 1.3-m) and spectroscopic (using MDM 2.4-m and Lick 3-m) monitoring campaigns are being conducted for a 3 year duration and 20 day cadence. Precedent photometric observations in 2015B show some targets with variability and follow-up spectroscopic observations are on-going. In this presentation, we introduce our project, present reverberation mapping simulation results, and preliminary results on photometry. These reverberation mapping masses of relatively high luminous AGNs will provide a strong constraint on black hole mass calibration, e.g., the single-epoch mass estimation.

  • 최근 국내외에서 도시재생사업이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이러한 도시재생사업은 사업주체 및 이해관계자가 다양하고, 복잡하며, 대규모의 긴 생애주기를 가지고 있다. 또한 대부분 입체 복합공간 개발 형태의 메가프로젝트라는 특징을 나타내고 있다. 이러한 대규모의 도시재생사업은 사업수행과정에서 많은 위험요인들이 존재하며, 그와 더불어 효율적이고 지속적인 성과관리가 필요하다. 그러나 국내의 성과관리는 건설업의 특성을 반영하지 못하고 있으며, 위험과 연계된 연구는 미비하다. 그래서 본 연구는 효율적인 성과관리를 위한 위험과 연계된 성과측정지표를 도출하기 위한 기초연구로 맵핑(mapping)을 통해 성과측정을 위한 성과지표와 위험요인을 연계하는 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

  • Change orders represent one of the largest sources of cost growth on construction projects, but an efficient change management control system can help the projects steer clear of the constant construction changes. This study was performed to achieve a better understanding of all changes and to develop a new set of Best Practices using process mapping techniques. The project data for this research were collected from case studies of aviation projects implemented in Houston, Texas at Bush Intercontinental Airport. The findings and contributions of this research should help owners and project managers determine and identify major causes that impact project budget and schedule and implement solutions prior to them surfacing.

The Pilot Production of Topographic-Cadastral Maps and Its Applications in Korea

  • The Government confirmed the action planning of digital mapping project for major thematic maps based on ‘Revised Plan for The Development of the National Geographic Information System’(NGIS). Mapping for major thematic maps was begun in 1998 when digital mapping project for topographic maps finished due to the delay of the action planning, and will selectively have produced the essential digital thematic maps according to the frequency of usage. The models of topographic-cadastral maps and administrative boundary maps around Suwon were produced in accordance with the presented draft. We presented specification for production of the most appropriate topographic-cadastral maps and administrative boundary maps through the analysis of the process of production, discussion and error check, and correction of the produced topographic-cadastral maps and administrative boundary maps. And we could make it easier to develop digital mapping project of topographic-cadastral maps and administrative boundary maps effectively by presenting the strategy for data input and maintenance, the cost model for carrying out the digital thematic map production, digital topographic maps, and the supplement of data model and data format. Topographic-cadastral maps has a wide range of usage but a lot of difficulties in the process of production and map update under use. So it seems that the study on users, university, private sector and municipal self-government must follow for promoting the use of topographic-cadastral maps.

중소 소프트웨어 기업의 개선 대상 SW 프로세스 선정 (Improvement Target SW Process Selection for Small and Medium Size Software Organizations)

  • SPICE(Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination) 평가 모형에 기반한 중소기업형 프로세스 개선 모형으로 SPIRE (Software Process Improvement in Regions of Europe)가 개발되어 제공되고 있다. 그러나 SPIRE에서는 조직의 경영 목적에 맞는 프로세스 선택을 위한 구체적인 지침이나 매핑을 제시하고 있지 못하다. 이 연구에서는 프로세스 선택시 활용할 수 있는 객관적인 경영 목표-프로세스간 매핑 참조 테이블을 작성하고, 이를 활용한 프로세스 선정 방안을 제시한다. 매핑 참조 테이블은 델파이 기법을 활용하여 국내 소프트웨어 프로세스 전문가들의 의견 수렴을 통해 작성되었다. 본 연구에서 제시된 프로세스 선정 기법은 매핑 참조 테이블과 해당 업체 관련자의 주관적인 매핑 정보를 종합적으로 활용하여 최종적으로 개선 대상 프로세스를 선정되도록 한다. 이 연구에서 제시된 선정 방법을 2개의 중소 소프트웨어 조직에 실제 적용하여 활용 가능성을 검토하였다. 매핑 참조 테이블을 사용하여 업체 관련자가 간과하고 있던 주요 프로세스를 평가 대상 프로세스로 선정할 수 있었다.

  • This paper suggests the design and operation of value stream mapping(VSM) applied to project management, such as R&D, IT Investment. First this study represents design methodology of VSM process using SIPOC(Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Costumer). Second, this paper considers the identification and improvement plan about non-added value time for VSM using FPC(Flow Process Chart) and PERT/CPM. Last, this paper proposes VSM scheduling method using PERT/CPM and CCPM(Critical Chain Project Management)

건축부재 형상정보 교환을 위한 개방형BIM 기반의 매핑 시스템 개발 (OpenBIM-based Mapping System Development for Geometry Information Exchange of Architectural Components)

  • Parametric modeling is one of BIM's characteristics and BIM have being utilized for constructability analysis, energy efficiency analysis, and so on in diverse construction field. However, parametric information's interoperation is not solved until now because different BIM tools have specific algorithm and methods to generate geometric information. To solve the problem, previous research suggested IFC-XML methodology. In this paper, authors studied connections between IFC-XML structure and script-based modeling commends to make libraries in commercial BIM tools such as ArchiCAD$^{TM}$ and Digital Project$^{TM}$. In addition, they made commends mapping tables to exchange geometry information of architectural components. Moreover, mapping system was developed to certify the mapping tables which is classified modeling commends. Finally, translated architectural component model was confirmed using exchanged geometry information in browser.

  • More than 50% of the existing buildings in Korea are over 15 years old. Therefore it is necessary to be held reconstruction or remodeling deteriorated buildings more efficiently. Especially, since remodeling project reserves existing structures, it requires less period of project and construction period compare to reconstruction. It is possible to minimize uncertainty in communication between participants and able to manage information and construct efficiently in remodeling projects. This paper is first step of integrated BIM-based whole lifecyle management of apartment remodeling process. It suggests 3D laser scanner specification factors and site constraint factors for mapping between two groups. Therefore it will contribute to develop mapping algorithm of two groups and find optimal combination for apartment remodeling.

  • OECD는 학습 프레임워크를 개발하고 국제 비교 연구의 일환으로 교육과정을 분석하는 Education 2030 프로젝트를 수행하고 있다. 우리나라는 OECD Education 2030 프로젝트의 일환으로 수행된 국어, 수학, 사회/역사, 과학, 체육, 예술(미술/음악), 기술·가정/정보 교과에 대한 교육과정 내용 맵핑 연구(Curriculum Content Mapping, 이하 CCM)의 본 검사에 참여하였다. 본 연구는 CCM 본검사에 참여한 결과 중 수학과의 내용을 정리한 것으로, 우리나라 2015 개정 중학교 수학과 교육과정에 CCM 프레임워크의 역량이 어느 정도로 어떻게 반영되었는지를 확인하고 이를 바탕으로 우리나라 수학과 교육과정 및 교육과정 국제 비교 연구를 위한 시사점을 도출하였다.
