This research was thereby made to study and analysis ecological, landscape, and stability qualities of roadside cut Slopes in expressways and national highways that went through revegetation works. Also, evaluation items and framework for integrated assessment of plant structure and restored state for the maintenance were suggested. Following is the summary of the result. firstly, for stabilization of introduced native plant species on roadside cut slops, assessment on the post-project environmental management through long-term monitoring and maintenance works must be made. It signifies a form of authentic recovery and restoration by the native plants. second, current evaluation framework on the test beds is well managed with clear evaluation standards and table while its method of assessing the post management with only test bed results lacks conformity with this study site. Newly developed evaluation framework on the post construction sites is estimated to be used as assessment standards on any roadside construction sites. Third, after site investigation distinction was observed among different revegetating construction types in the long-term perspective. Due to the different duration time of vegetation state between seed-spray measures(degraded in time) and layer-spray measure(maintained), the use of coarse straw-mat mulching work or Coir net was suggested in long term maintenance of cut slopes. forth, segmentation of post environmental assessment is organized into three large categories of "ecological", "stabile", and "landscape" qualities regarding post restoration quality and stability of slope through native plants with which categories marks 50, 30, 20 points of rates. fifth, components of the post environmental assessment were segmented in twelve categories driving results from former experimental construction and newly focused items on site. In the future, it is possible to propose a customized assessment method considering the location and location of construction work if the research on the application of post-environment assessment methods for road construction surface recording is conducted systematically.

A Gyeongju earthquake in the magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale (the moment magnitude of 5.4), which was recorded as the strongest earthquake in Korea, occurred in September 12, 2016. Compared with the 2011 Virginia earthquake, the moment magnitude was slightly smaller and its duration was 3 seconds, much shorter than 10 seconds of the Virginia earthquake, resulting in relatively minor damage. But the two earthquakes are quite similar in terms of the overall scale, unexpectedness, and social situation. The North Anna Nuclear Power Plant, which is a nuclear power plant located at 18 km away from the epicenter of the Virginia earthquake, had no damage to nuclear reactors because the reactors were automatically shut down as the design basis earthquake value was exceeded. Ground accelerations of the 2016 Gyeongju earthquake did not exceed the threshold value but the manual shutdown was carried out so that Wolsong Nuclear Power Site was not damaged. Damaged historic homestead house and masonry structures due to the Virginia earthquake have been repaired, reinforced, and rebuilt based on a long-term earthquake recovery project. Likewise, it will be necessary to carefully carry out an earthquake recovery planning program to improve overall seismic performance and to reconstruct the historic buildings and structures damaged as a result of the Gyeongju earthquake.

Rainfall is one of the most active forces that cause soil erosion. The action of rain on the soil exerts an erosive power caused by the impact of the drops, which fall with variable speed and kinetic energy, depending directly on the diameter of the drop. The objective of this study is to determine algorithms capable of estimating rainfall erosivity for the region of Maceió-AL. For this purpose, erosion rains were collected between 2003 and 2006 using a RD-69 disdrometer, which continuously and automatically measures rainfall distribution in a range of 1 min. The determination of algorithms in the form of power equation to estimate was adjusted with one and two independent variables (amount of rainfall, duration and maximum intensity).

It is a difficult thing to administer a various task in the construction site because, the person placing an order are eagerly demanding for the reduction of project duration as the trend of construction are becoming larger and international. The advanced country have made an effort to development PMIS based on the Web, which to exchanges a various construction information such as Time Management/Construction Management/Resource Management/Document Management to solve these problems since 2000. However, the expectation to develop a smart PMIS that can deal with a more quick change of a various process are becoming lager as the lively supply of IT equipment such as smart phone and table PC. The research are aim to develop the next generation smart PMIS, which is link with the table PC and smart phone for a site manager to use the system based on the web in the movement. Also, it has an object in view to introduce the development process and the major function of the next generation PMIS.

Since Ballast Water Management Convention has been effected, BWTS, applied to new-building vessels and existing vessels, have been developed from many countries with various treatment methods. However, BWTS is mainly typed Electrolysis, Ozone and UV type. Approximately 70 products have been type approved by the Flag Administrations. For the new-building vessels, the vessels' design and construction have been considered for arrangements and installations for BWTS. However, existing vessels which already construction had finished have problem with selection of BWTS type for installation and arrangement. The selection of the most economized BWTS system is important though, CAPEX has not been made any significant differences. However, OPEX is more important factor. Consequently, detail analysis of OPEX is the key to the selection of the most economized BWTS system and also it can be the purpose of this study. The feasibility study on the main three type of BWTS (Electrolysis, Ozone and UV type) for 175K Bulk Carrier and 57K Cargo ship has been conducted for this study. Because, these three type of BWTS have been the most frequently installed and used and the two type of object vessels are consist of the 40% of the world merchant ship market. For this study, interest rate, project duration (operation time after installation), maintenance cost and fuel oil price are considered as major factor of feasibility study. In addition, expecting Interest rates to sensitivity analysis conducted for more accurate feasibility study. For 175K Bulk carrier, ozone treatment system is more economical than other types. For 57K cargo ship, UV type is considered more economical than other types. However, it is concluded that electrolysis type is more suitable compare to installation space, total weight and electrical power consumption.

With rapid convergence of information technology and expending role of software, many organizations have taken interested in We explore the relationship between the level of change awareness and deployment of software process improvement (SPI) approaches using a competing values framework. To measure awareness level of organization's change, DICE framework which provides means for predicting the outcome of change management initiatives is used. The four factors for organizaton's change: duration, integrity, commitment, and effort are evaluated and a score is calculated. In this paper, we apply the DICE(R) score as an independent variable to predict the outcome of a software process improvement. Our results indicated that the Organization have a higher chance of success have the better outcome in software process improvement.

This study was conducted to determine the LCC of apartment complexes with district heating and a cogeneration system. For the purpose of analyzing LCC according to the size of the apartment complex, 500, 1,500, and 4,000-unit model apartments were selected. Analysis was performed on the design of the heating system and the life cycle cost including total construction cost, maintenance and operation cost for the duration of the project period (15 years). According to the calculated results, 1) The initial cost of the cogeneration system for 500, 1,500, and 4,000-unit apartments is higher than that of the district heating system by 20%, 13%, and 12%, respectively. 2) In the case of the cogeneration system, the payback period by electric generation was found to be 5.21, 4.92 and 4.47 years, and saving cost was calculated to be 29 billion won, 94 billion won and 262 billion won after the payback period for 500, 1,500, and 4,000-unit apartments, respectively. 3) The LCC values of the cogeneration system were 1.12, 1.07 and 1.06 times larger than those of the district system according to the size of the apartment complex. In this study, the district heating system was found to be more efficient than the cogeneration system in terms of LCC reduction. 4) District heating is affected by fuel bills, so energy efficiency should be improved through recovering waste heat (incineration heat, etc.). Also, district cooling should be provided according to heat use to keep the temperature high in winter and low in summer.

Research on additional indirect cost due to construction period extension in general contracts has continuously been active whereas the same for the subcontract operations has not been. In this research, we review previous research on evaluation methods for additional indirect costs which are widely being used on construction sites as well as previously proposed methods altogether, applying them to analyze model-cases for comparison. We acknowledge that this pattern for construction cost fluctuation over the construction period demonstrates an S-curve. This S-curve shaped indirect cost occurrence is then used to generate model-cases that are used throughout the research which models we applied previous evaluation methods on. Finally in pursuit of finding out some problems of evaluation methods, we came to derive a conclusion that the "Average Actual Cost Evaluation Method on Extended Duration," which, in turn, were proved to be valid for application on general contracts, was also valid for general application on subcontractor operations.
Background: Substantial empirical research has shown conflicting results regarding the influence of organizational external factors on construction risk management, suggesting the necessity to introduce a moderator into the study. The present research confirmed whether rules and regulations matter on the relationships between organizational external factors and construction risk management. Methods: Based on discouragement and organizational control theory, this research examined the effects of organizational external factors and rules and regulations on construction risk management among 238 employees operating in construction companies in Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria. A personally administered questionnaire was used to acquire the data. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Results: A significant positive relationship between organizational external factors and construction risk management was asserted. This study also found a significant positive relationship between rules and regulations and construction risk management. As anticipated, rules and regulations were found to moderate the relationship between organizational external factors and construction risk management, with a significant positive result. Similarly, a significant interaction effect was also found between rules and regulations and organizational external factors. Implications of the research from a Nigerian point of view have also been discussed. Conclusion: Political, economy, and technology factors helped the construction companies to reduce the chance of risk occurrence during the construction activities. Rules and regulations also helped to lessen the rate of accidents involving construction workers as well as the duration of the projects. Similarly, the influence of the organizational external factors with rules and regulations on construction risk management has proven that most of the construction companies that implement the aforementioned factors have the chance to deliver their projects within the stipulated time, cost, and qualities, which can be used as a yardstick to measure a good project.
