In this paper, we describe a design and implementation of the Wireless Markup Language(WML) compiler to deploy wireless Internet services effectively. The WML compiler translates textual WML decks into binary ones in order to reduce the traffic on wireless links that have relatively low bandwidth to wireline links and mitigate the processing overhead of WML decks on, wireless terminals that have relatively low processing power to fixed workstations. In addition, it takes over the overhead of eXtensible Markup Language(XML) well-formedness and validation processes. The WML compiler consists of the lexical analyzer and parser modules. The granunar for the WML parser module is LALR(1) context-free grammar that is designed based on XML 1.0 and WML 1.2 DTD(Document Type Definition) with the consideration of the Wireless Application Protocol Binary XML grammar. The grammar description is converted into a C program to parse that grammar by using parser generator. Even though the tags in WML will be extended or WML DTD will be upgraded, this approach has the advantage of flexibility because the program is generated by modifying just the changed parts. We have verified the functionality of the WML compiler by using a WML decompiler in the public domain and by using the Nokia WAP Toolkit as a WAP client. To measurethe compressibility gain of the WML compiler, we have tested a large number of textual WML decks and obtained a maximum 85 %. As the effect of compression is reduced when the portion of general textual strings increases relative to one of the tags and attributes in a WML deck, an extended encoding method might be needed for specific applications such as compiling of the WML decks to which the Hyper Text Markup Language document is translated dynamically.

The goal of this research is the real-time implementation of MPEG-1 Layer III audio decoder using the fixed-point digital signal processor of TMS320C6201 The main job for this work is twofold: one is to convert floating-point operation in the decoder into fixed-point operation while maintaining the high resolution, and the other is to optimize the program to make it run in real-time with memory size as small as possible. We, especially, devote much time to the descaling module in the decoder for conversion of floating-point operation into fixed-point operation with high accuracy. The inverse modified cosine transform(IMDCT) and synthesis polyphase filter bank modules are optimized in order to reduce the amount of computation and memory size. After the optimization process, in this paper, the implemented decoder uses about 26% of maximum computation capacity of TMS320C6201. The program memory, data ROM, data RAM used in the decoder are about 6.77kwords, 3.13 kwords and 9.94 kwords, respectively. Comparing the PCM output of fixed-point computation with that of floating-point computation, we achieve the signal-to-noise ratio of more than 60 dB. A real-time operation is demonstrated on the PC using the sound I/O and host communication functions in the EVM board.

We propose a new training system for the improvement of equilibrium sense using unstable platform. This system consists of unstable platform, computer interface and various softwares. The unstable platform was a simple structure of elliptical-type which included tilt sensor and wireless RF module. To evaluate the effort of balance training, we measured the parameters such as the moving time to the target and duration to maintain cursor in the target of screen. Balance training was carried out for two weeks and we classified the subjects into two groups by the training program. As a result, the moving time was reduced and duration time was lengthened through the repeating training of equilibrium sense using training program of sine curve trace(SCT) and Block game. Especially, there was remarkable improvement at direction which was too difficult for the subjects to balance their body. It was showed that this system had an effort on improving equilibrium sense and might be applied to clinical use as an effective balance training system.

In this paper, we provide flexible scalability of computing resources in cloud environment and Apache Hadoop based cloud environment for analysis of public medical information big data. In fact, it includes the ability to quickly and flexibly extend storage, memory, and other resources in a situation where log data accumulates or grows over time. In addition, when real-time analysis of accumulated unstructured log data is required, the system adopts Hadoop-based analysis module to overcome the processing limit of existing analysis tools. Therefore, it provides a function to perform parallel distributed processing of a large amount of log data quickly and reliably. Perform frequency analysis and chi-square test for big data analysis. In addition, multivariate logistic regression analysis of significance level 0.05 and multivariate logistic regression analysis of meaningful variables (p<0.05) were performed. The electronic attendance management system is being introduced and operated on a pilot basis by some universities and educational institutions. However, most of the related systems have installed and operated the existing barcode and magnetic card systems. Classroom attendance is managed by introducing RF cards, but it causes problems such as recognition distance (less than 5cm) and the need for a check process in which students have to read the card each time with a reader for attendance. Also, it is not possible to respond in real time to the situation of midterm (early leave, absence from the second lecture time, etc.) because it is used in the lecture time of one subject with the record checked once. In order to solve these problems, the various mobile attendance systems proposed to solve these problems are also unable to fundamentally solve problems such as interim attendance and proxy attendance because they check attendance using only the application of a smartphone. In this paper, we use geofencing technology, which is a positioning-based technology that detects the entry and exit of people, objects, etc. in areas separated by virtual boundaries. The proposed system solves the problem of intermediate attendance and alternate attendance by setting the student to automatically record the access record when entering and leaving the classroom set as a geofence with a smartphone. In addition, it also provides a function to prevent unintentional mistakes that occur through the smartphone by limiting some of the functions of the smartphone such as silence, vibration, and Internet use when entering the classroom.

We developed problem-solving type inquiry learning programs reflecting scientists' research process and analyzed the activities of science-gifted high school students, and the understanding and the effects of the programs after implementation in class. For this study, twelve science-gifted students in the 10th grade participated in the program, which consisted of three different modules - making a cycloidal pendulum, surface growth, and synchronization using metronomes. Diet Cola Test (DCT) was used to find out the effect on the improvement of the ability to design experiments by comparing pre/post scores, with a survey and an interview being conducted after the class. Each module consisted of a series of processes such as questioning the phenomenon scientifically, designing experiments to find solutions, and doing activities to solve the problems. These enable students to experience problem-solving type research process through the program class. According to this analysis, most students were likely to understand the characteristics of problem-solving type inquiry learning programs reflecting the scientists' research process. According to the students, there are some differences between this program class and existing school class. The differences are: 'explaining phenomenon scientifically,' 'designing experiments for themselves,' and 'repeating the experiments several times.' During the class students have to think continuously, design several experiments, and carry them out to solve the problems they found at first. Then finally, they were able to solve the problems. While repeating this kind of activities they have been able to experience the scientists' research process. Also, they showed a positive attitude toward the scientists' research by understanding problem-solving type research process. These problem-solving type inquiry learning programs seem to have positive effects on students in designing experiments and offering the opportunity for critical argumentation on the causes of the phenomena. The results of comparing pre/post scores for DCT revealed that almost every student has improved his/her ability to design experiments. Students who were accustomed to following teacher's instructions have had difficulty in designing the experiments for themselves at the beginning of the class, but gradually, they become used to doing it through the class and finally were able to do it systematically.

Bus stops are places that a variety of things happen including waiting, meeting and taking breaks. Therefore, these locations need to be made to meet the usage demands. They should be landscaped to provide a comfortable and satisfying environment for users. At present, bus stops are made with artificial materials and are all unified in form without consideration to landscape, ecology and other characteristics. Users are exposed to the poor surroundings. However, if small urban parks, which are of vital importance as well as extremely convenient, were connected to bus stops, the results would be a quantitative increase in the leisure locations and a qualitative change in the form of improved landscape and various forms of parks. The research was carried out to determine the effects of connecting bus stops and small parks, and the results are as follows. First, small parks provide resting areas for waiting passengers and buses. Second, it provides presently insufficient rest areas with convenience facilities and makes it more comfortable to take buses and use the park. Third, it provides a multi-functional efficient use of space that functions as both bus stop and park. Fourth, it can be a symbolic landmark that can represent the color of the area by adding a cultural element. Fifth, the existing green space in the park can contribute to the natural environment of the city. This study deduced general problems surrounding bus stops on the basis of selected indices and researched bus stops which are being used as parks and the places which have the potential for such purposes, in order to suggest a plan of attack. In addition, this proposal can create a new form of space, the bus stop park, and try to create a module of cases to establish it.
This paper is designed to report the results of development and validation procedures in relation to the Freeway Incident Management System (FIMS) prototype development as part of Intelligent Transportation Systems Research and Development program. The central core of the FIMS is an integration of the component parts and the modular, but the integrated system for freeway management. The whole approach has been component-orientated, with a secondary emphasis being placed on the traffic characteristics at the sites. The first action taken during the development process was the selection of the required data for each components within the existing infrastructure of Korean freeway system. After through review and analysis of vehicle detection data, the pilot site led to the utilization of different technologies in relation to the specific needs and character of the implementation. This meant that the existing system was tested in a different configuration at different sections of freeway, thereby increasing the validity and scope of the overall findings. The incident detection module has been performed according to predefined system validation specifications. The system validation specifications have identified two component data collection and analysis patterns which were outlined in the validation specifications; the on-line and off-line testing procedural frameworks. The off-line testing was achieved using asynchronous analysis, commonly in conjunction with simulation of device input data to take full advantage of the opportunity to test and calibrate the incident detection algorithms focused on APID, DES, DELOS and McMaster. The simulation was done with the use of synchronous analysis, thereby providing a means for testing the incident detection module.
Purpose: This paper is about development and design of the 1x optical path relay adapter for the beam splitting prism by us the day & night scope. Methods: To product the day & night scope by using the beam splitting prism and the commercial zoom optical system with the C-mount lens barrel structure, the optical path relay adapter, which doesn't change the image size of the zoom optical system and can stretch the position of the image-forming surface, is needed. We could design the 1x optical path relay adapter by using the CodeV program in which the Lens Module mode is offered. Results: We could design the optical path relay adapter used in the day&night scope with the beam splitting prism, of which characteristics have the EFL of -56.0 mm, the magnification of +1.0x, the distance from the 1st lens surface to the last lens surface of about 20.4 mm. The resolution of this system is characterized by 30 lp/mm at 40% MTF. This is enough to accommodate the designed optical path relay adapter can overcome the resolution of the 3rd generation of image intesifier tubes. Conclusions: By designing and applying the optical path relay adapter of which optical characteristics have the EFL of -56.0 mm, the magnification of +1.0x, the distance from the 1st lens surface to the last lens surface of about 20.4 mm, and the resolution of 30 lp/mm at 40% MTF, we could develop the new type day&night scope consisting of the beam splitting, the commercial zoom optical system with the C-mount lens barrel structure, and the 3rd generation of image intesifier tubes.
In this paper, we present relative positioning algorithm for moving land vehicle using GPS, MEMS IMU and B-CDMA module. This algorithm does not calculate precise absolute position but calculates relative position directly, so additional infrastructure and I2V communication device are not required. Proposed algorithm has several steps. Firstly, unbiased relative position is calculated using pseudorange difference between two vehicles. Simultaneously, the algorithm estimates position of each vehicle using GPS/INS integration. Secondly, proposed algorithm performs filtering and finally estimates relative position and relative velocity. Using proposed algorithm, we can obtain more precise relative position for moving land vehicles with short time interval as IMU sensor has. The simulation is performed to evaluate this algorithm and the several field tests are performed with real time program and miniature vehicles for verifying performance of proposed algorithm.
