Tranilast-delivery surgical sutures to ameliorate wound healing by reducing scar formation through regulation of TGF-β expression and fibroblast recruitment

  • We describe surgical sutures enabled with the local, sustained delivery of a TGF-${\beta}$ inhibitory drug, tranilast. To fabricate drug-delivery sutures, we separately prepared a tranilast-loaded strand using poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid), which was then physically braided with a surgical suture already in clinical use. By this method, the drug-delivery sutures maintained the mechanical strength and allowed the modulation of drug release profiles by simply altering the tranilast-loaded strand. The drug-delivery sutures herein released tranilast for up to 14 days. When applied to animal models, scarring was indeed reduced with diminished TGF-${\beta}$ expression and fibroblast numbers during the entire 21 day testing period.

  • Recently, food delivery apps are seeing rapid growth into a market worth 1 trillion won under a simple but unique business model of connecting nearby restaurants with consumers via smartphone. Though basic similarities with social commerce exists in aspects such as mail-order sales intermediaries, startups, types of services and market competition structure, food delivery apps resemble social commerce in many ways in that they use excessive marketing to secure market dominance, causing a spike in consumer complaints. If the excessive marketing and increase in customer complaints are not rectified, the food delivery app could also see rapid decline as it gradually grows distant from consumers, just like social commerce. Accordingly, this study will identify the factors consumers recognize as important for continuous use vis-a-vis social commerce and food delivery apps to perform an empirical analysis on what areas need improvement. After deriving the four upper factors of product, information system and service along with eight sub-factors by referring to existing literature, the areas with opportunity for improvement were derived through satisfaction level and relative importance evaluation. The results of this study present a strategic direction for maintaining customers of social commerce and food delivery apps.

  • In this study, economic analysis program was developed for economic evaluation of hydrogen production, storage/delivery, and utilization technologies as well as overseas import of hydrogen. Economic analysis program can be used for the estimation of the levelized cost of hydrogen for hydrogen supply chain technologies. This program include five hydrogen production technology on steam methane reforming and water electrolysis, two hydrogen storage technologies (high compressed gas and liquid hydrogen storage), three hydrogen delivery technologies (compressed gas delivery using tube trailer, liquid hydrogen, and pipeline transportation) and six hydrogen utilization technologies on hydrogen refueling station and stationary fuel cell system. In the case of overseas import hydrogen, it was considered to be imported from five countries (Austraila, Chile, India, Morocco, and UAE), and the transportation methods was based on liquid hydrogen, ammonia, and liquid organic hydrogen carrier. Economic analysis program that was developed in this study can be expected to utilize for planning a detailed implementation methods and hydrogen supply strategies for the hydrogen economy road map of government.

빅 데이터를 이용한 음식방송의 효과 확인: 이중차이분석을 적용하여 (Investigating the Influence of a Food-themed TV Program on Delivery Food Order Amount Using Big Data with Difference-in-Differences Method)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 데이터 분석에 익숙하지 않은 일반인도 공개된 빅 데이터를 사용하여 복잡한 프로그래밍 없이 비교적 쉽게 빅 데이터를 활용할 수 있도록 참고할 수 있는 분석 사례를 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 SKT Data Hub에서 공개한 '배달 업종 이용 현황 분석' 데이터를 이용하여, 음식을 주제로 한 방송이 실제로 배달음식 주문량에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는지를 이중차이(DID: Difference In Differences) 방법을 적용한 다중 회귀분석을 통해 확인하였다. 분석결과, 배달음식을 주제로 한 TV 프로그램의 5개 회 차 중 4개 회 차의 방영 후 배달음식의 주문량이 유의하게 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 음식을 주제로 한 방송으로 인해, 해당 방송이 진행된 점포 뿐아니라 해당 점포와 같은 음식 업종 전반에서 긍정적인 영향을 받을 수 있다는 가능성을 확인했다는 점에서 학문적 의의가 있다. 또한 공개된 빅 데이터를 이용하여 일반에서 쉽게 활용하고 분석할 수 있도록 참고사례를 제공했다는 점에서 실무적 의의를 갖는다.

모성건강관리프로그램이 임부의 우울, 모성역할자신감, 분만자신감에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Maternal Health Care Program on Depression, Maternal Role Self-confidence and Delivery Self-efficacy in Pregnant Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the maternal health care program on pregnant women's depression, maternal role self-confidence and delivery self-efficacy in a public health center. Methods: This study used a non-equivalent control group quasi-experiment design attempted to verify the effectiveness of maternal health care program. In the experimental group (39 participants), maternal health care program was applied for 120 minutes for 8 weeks, and the control group (40 participants) was provided with a booklet for maternal health care. Data collection was conducted from September 20, 2015 to November 30, 2015. Data were analyzed using ${\chi}^2-test$, Fisher's exact test and t-test. Results: The maternal health care program showed a significant effect on maternal role self-confidence and delivery self-efficacy compared to control group. Conclusion: The maternal health care program conducted at the public health center was found to be effective in improving maternal role self-confidence and delivery self-efficacy. Further development of a program to mediate the depression of the expectant mothers is needed.

Diet of children under the government-funded meal support program in Korea

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the diet of children under the government-funded meal support program. The 143 children (67 boys and 76 girls) participated in this study among $4^{th}-6^{th}$ elementary school students receiving free lunches during the summer vacation of 2007 and living in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, Korea. The subjects consisted of four groups supported by Meal Box Delivery (n = 26), Institutional Foodservice (n = 53), Restaurant Foodservice (n = 27), or Food Delivery (n = 37). A three-day 24-hour dietary recall and a self-administered survey were conducted. In addition, the children's heights and weights were measured. The average energy intake of the children was 1,400 kcal per day, much lower than the Estimated Energy Requirements of the pertinent age groups. The results also showed inadequate intake of all examined nutrients; of particular concern was the extremely low intake of calcium. On average, the children consumed eight dishes and 25 food items per day. The children supported by Meal Box Delivery consumed more various dishes and food items than the other groups. The percentage of children preferring their current meal support method was the highest in those supported by Meal Box Delivery and the lowest in those supported by Food Delivery. We requested 15 children among the 143 children participating in the survey to draw the scene of their lunch time. The drawings of the children supported by Institutional Foodservice showed more positive scenes than the other groups, especially in terms of human aspects. In conclusion, the overall diet of children under the government-funded meal support program was nutritionally inadequate, although the magnitude of the problems tended to differ by the meal support method. The results could be utilized as basic data for policy and programs regarding the government-funded meal support program for children from low-income families.

  • The study was surveyed to evaluate the foodservice program. The survey was conducted based on instrument which was developed by reviewing previous research. The instrument was provided to 60 nutritionists at the elementary schools in Taegu area. The data include 4 major parts of task performance rate, delivery and service, menu management, and satisfaction of foodservice facilities. Data obtained from survey are analyzed by SPSS program. These results show that the performance rates of determination of nutritional needs and menu planning is high to 98.3% both and 23% of nutritionists don't perfomed nutrition education.

Repetitive Delivery Scheme for Left and Right Views in Service-Compatible 3D Video Service

  • This paper introduces a novel repetitive delivery scheme for the left and right views in service-compatible (SC) 3D video that provides full backward compatibility to a legacy DTV system while retaining HD 3D visual quality without additional bandwidth or a codec over the legacy broadcasting channel. The proposed SC delivery scheme transmits individual view sequences of a 3D video in interlaced form, that is, a left-view sequence of a 3DTV program to be used repeatedly is transmitted first and stored locally, and the right-view sequence of the 3D program is then transmitted. This paper specifically describes the signaling, synchronization, and storage format methods used to validate the proposed SC delivery scheme. The experiment results show that the proposed SC delivery scheme can be effectively applied for an SC 3DTV service without degrading the DTV quality using only legacy DTV platforms.

출산 후 여성들의 복합무용프로그램 실시가 신체구성, BDNF 및 Serotonin에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Complex Dance Program on Body composition, BDNF & Serotonin in After Delivery Women)

  • 본 연구는 출산 후 여성 14명을 대상으로 12주간 복합무용프로그램(ballet, contemporary dance, yoga)을 실시한 후 신체구성, BDNF, Serotonin에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 신체구성의 결과, 시기에 따른 주효과에서는 체지방률에서 두 집단 모두 유의한 감소를 나타냈으며 제지방량에서는 출한 후 만 1년 이내 집단에서 유의한 증가를 보였다(t=-3.821, p=.009). BDNF, Serotonin에서는 집단과 시기간의 상호작용효과를 볼 수 없었으며, 주효과에서도 집단 간, 시기 간 차이를 볼 수 없었다(p>.05). BDNF와 신체구성, Serotonin과의 상관 및 회귀분석 결과, BDNF와 Serotonin이 정적 상관을 보였으며(p=.025) 단순회귀 결과 17.9%의 설명력을 가지는 것으로 나타났다.(r=.424, $r^2=.179$).

배달 플랫폼 종사자를 위한 안전관리 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Safety Management for Delivery Platform Workers)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구에서는 배달 플랫폼 종사자들을 위험으로부터 보호하기 위해 안전관리 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 연구방법: 배달 플랫폼 종사자들을 보호하기 위해 국내와 국외에서 실시하고 있는 안전 관련 법제도 및 사례를 찾아 분석하였고, 배달 플랫폼 종사자들을 대상으로 설문을 진행하여 도출된 통계 결과와 국내·외 법제도 및 사례들을 분석하고 비교하여 안전관리 개선방안을 제시하였다. 연구결과: 국내에서는 배달 플랫폼 종사자의 안전을 위해 실시하고 있는 법의 내용에서 기상악화에 대한 안전대책이 명확하게 제시되지 않았고 설문조사 결과 안전교육 또한 완벽하게 이루어지지 않고 있는 것으로 확인되었으며 배달 도중 앱이나 프로그램을 통해 호출을 받아 대다수가 사고를 경험한 것으로 확인되었다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 배달 플랫폼 종사자들을 위한 안전관리 개선 방안을 제시할 수 있었지만 이륜차와 관련된 상세한 설문 항목은 조사하지 않았기 때문에 배달 플랫폼 종사자들이 주 운송수단으로 사용하고 있는 이륜차로 인해 발생할 수 있는 다양한 사고 결과를 확인할 수 없어 이륜차를 사용하여 배달할 경우 발생할 수 있는 사고에 대한 안전관리 개선방안은 제시할 수 없었다.
