An entity-based integrated design product and process model uses product and process entities to describe design information and design activities, respectively. The concepts and notation for product and process entities in the entity-based integrated design model are similar to the concepts of object-oriented programming languages such as C++ and Smalltalk. This paper uses C++ to program an entity-based integrated design model for building frames structures. The design information and activities involved in the three dimensional building space, the locations of frames, and the grouping of frames represented as entities in the entity-based integrated design model are transformed to C++ codes. Each product or process entity can be basically transformed to an class. The attributes of an entity can be defined as variables and member functions of a class.
The purpose of this study is to develop an efficient algorithm for the management of the shift schedule in nuclear power plants in consideration with the ergonomic criteria and the regulatory codes. The ergonomic criteria considered are the work hours, overtime-work frequency and working time, start and finishing time of works, allocation of rest times and duty-offs, rotating of shifts, etc. to comply with the regulations such as the Labor Standard Act, the ILO Convention No. 171, 178, "the detailed content of a periodic safety review," enforcement regulations 19-2 of the Atomic Energy Act. The developed algorithm for the shift schedule program adopts a heuristic method to minimize the difference the workload for shift workers in nuclear power plants.
The conventional school affairs management, with an example of Korea Martitime University (KMU), is studied through the university codes and its internal regulations and the inevitable problems of the conventional school affairs are analyzed. From the view points of complexity of the educational structure and increase in educational population, the computerized school affairs management is increasingly requested. Therefore, in order to design and implement a computerized school affairs management system, a code-system suitable for the KMU is, first of all, constructed and then a data base which copes with various reforms or changes is developed by using the code system and the IMAGE/DMBS of a HP-9040AM computer. A FORTRAN example program shows that the designed data base can be easily transformed into on-line system and made good use of managing school affairs. Furthermore, it is recommended that the university authority organize a research team for designing the total system in future university administration and solving difficult problems occurring through the computerization.

Following previous studies, the current paper describes the results of an experimental program concerning the repair of reinforced concrete columns by thixotropic pseudo plastic mortar, preformed to analyze and quantify the influence of initial construction damage to the behavior of the repaired element. Five columns (section scale 1:2) were designed according to the minimum requirements of reinforcement of ductility orientated codes' design with variables the percentages of initial construction damages. All were tested in axial compression with repeated cycles up to failure. For comparison reasons, another one of the same characteristics, yet healthy, was constructed and tested as a reference specimen. A numerical study (Finite Element Analysis) was conducted for further investigation of the behavior of the thixotropic mortar as repair material. The results indicate that: a) surpassing a specific amount of damage, columns even suitably repaired present lower strain capacity, b) finite element analysis present the same way of deboning of the repaired material taking into consideration the buckling of the reinforcement bars.

Wind-induced interference effects on a building are the result of one or more adjacent buildings modifying the flow of wind around it, which may result in a significant increase or decrease in wind loads on the building. Wind loading standards and codes of practice offer little guidance to the designer for assessing the effects of interference. Experimental results on interference effects indicate that code recommendations may be significantly low (unsafe) or uneconomically conservative. The paper presents results of an extensive experimental program to study the wind flow mechanisms and to quantify the extent of wind load modifications on buildings due to interference effects. These results have been simplified and presented from the point-of-view of design and codification for the case of two buildings. Based on these results, general guidelines and limiting conditions defining wind interference are formulated and discussed.
Although both theory and experiment are very important parts in sciences, especially in mathematics, theory only seems to be very important. But the subject of numerical analysis needs both theory and practice in computer. In this paper, I provide some Matlab program codes and matrices which are used in good understanding OR methods in class.
This tutorial introduces procedures and methods for performing structural equation modeling using R. For this, we present the whole process of analyzing the structural equations model from the confirmatory factor analysis to the path diagram generation using the lavaan package, which is relatively well evaluated among the R packages supporting the structural equation modeling, together with the R program codes. Considering that research applying structural equation modeling techniques is the mainstream in a variety of social sciences, including business administration, and that there is growing interest in open source R, this tutorial focuses on researchers who are looking for alternatives to traditional commercial statistical packages and is expected that it will be a useful guidebook for them.
A Sandbox has been widely used to prevent damages caused by running of unknown malicious codes. It prevents damages by containing running environment of a program. There is a trade-off in using sandbox, between configurability and ease-of-use. MAPbox, an instance system of sandbox, had employed sandbox classification technique to satisfy both configurability and ease-of-use [1]. However, the configurability of MAPbox can be improved further. In this paper, we introduce a technique to attach dynamic class facility to MAPbox and implement MAPbox-advanced one. Newly generated class in our system has an access control with proper privileges. We show an example for improvements which denote our system have increased the configurability of MAPbox. It was determined as abnormal by MAPbox although is not. Our system could determine it as normal. We also show our techniques to overcome obstacles to implement the system.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the components of preterm birth (PTB) through women's personal narratives and to visualize clinical symptom expressions (CSEs). Methods: The participants were 11 women who gave birth before 37 weeks of gestational age. Personal narratives were collected by interactive unstructured storytelling via individual interviews, from August 8 to December 4, 2019 after receiving approval of the Institutional Review Board. The textual data were converted to PDF and analyzed using the MAXQDA program (VERBI Software). Results: The participants' mean age was 34.6 (±2.98) years, and five participants had a spontaneous vaginal birth. The following nine components of PTB were identified: obstetric condition, emotional condition, physical condition, medical condition, hospital environment, life-related stress, pregnancy-related stress, spousal support, and informational support. The top three codes were preterm labor, personal characteristics, and premature rupture of membrane, and the codes found for more than half of the participants were short cervix, fear of PTB, concern about fetal well-being, sleep difficulty, insufficient spousal and informational support, and physical difficulties. The top six CSEs were stress, hydramnios, false labor, concern about fetal wellbeing, true labor pain, and uterine contraction. "Stress" was ranked first in terms of frequency and "uterine contraction" had individual attributes. Conclusion: The text network analysis of narratives from women who gave birth preterm yielded nine PTB components and six CSEs. These nine components should be included for developing a reliable and valid scale for PTB risk and stress. The CSEs can be applied for assessing preterm labor, as well as considered as strategies for students in women's health nursing practicum.

In this paper, we propose the framework of a visual language named VIOLA(VIsual Object-oriented Language for Multimedia Applications), which is developed for web authoring. VIOLA supports the user to construct HTML documents and CGI programs even if he/she doesn't know exact HTML tags and CGI programming. VIOLA, a user interface building part and a programming logic building part are combined by the data-flow model. the user interface building part provides direct manipulation and a WSIKWYG interface, and the program logic building part provides more intuitive interface by using predefined classes and the data-flow model. thus, even a novice user can construct sophisticated applications by simply moving or clicking the mouse. several classes which generate CGI codes are predefined, and they are represented with highly abstracted visual components, By reusing predefined classes, CGI codes are automatically generated. In VIOLA, all major steps in builidng generated wit HTML documents and Java CGI programs.
