영양교육 프로그램에 참가한 초등학교 아동의 영양지식 점수와 식행동, 식이 섭취 및 신체 지표와의 관련성 (The Relationship between Nutrition Knowledge Scores and Dietary Behavior, Dietary Intakes and Anthropometric Parameters among Primary School Children Participating in a Nutrition Education Program)

  • We aimed to evaluate the effect of nutrition education program on nutrition knowledge, dietary behavior, dietary intakes and anthropometric parameters in primary school children. Eighty five 4th grade children (boys = 43, girls = 42) were enrolled in the intervention program for 5 months. The subjects were asked to fill out a questionnaire about nutrition knowledge and dietary behavior two times, at the baseline and after completion of the program. Dietary intake information was collected from participants using a 3-day food record and their anthropometric parameters were measured. Upon completion of the intervention program, both nutrition knowledge and dietary behavior scores were significantly improved in all subjects. Energy intake was increased from 1,571.9 kcal to 1,734.1 kcal with significant improvements in nutrient density for protein, Ca, P, K, vitamin A and niacin. While subjects' height, weight, lean body mass and soft lean mass were significantly increased during the program, significant decreases were observed in the rohrer index, percent body fat, waist-hip ratio and body fat mass. The changes in nutrition knowledge scores were positively correlated with the changes in dietary behavior scores, micronutrient intakes and anthropometric parameters. These results indicate that enhancement of nutrition knowledge through well-planned long-term nutrition education program is effective not only for the improvement of dietary behaviors and dietary intakes but also for the positive changes in anthropometric parameters among primary school children.

시설 중증장애아동의 결연가정체험 프로그램을 통한 적응행동과 자기관리기술 효과성 연구 (A Study on the Effectiveness of a Host Family Experience Program on the Adaptive Behavior and Self-Management Skills of Children with Severe Disabilities at a Facility)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of a host family experience program on the adaptive behavior and self-management skills of children with severe disabilities and to suggest its applicability into clinical practice. The investigators developed a host family experience program and researched the pre-test and post-test designs with nonequivalent groups. The experiment and comparison groups were comprised of 34 children with severe disabilities that lived at S, a care facility for the severely disabled. They were examined for the program's effects on them before and after the application. After analyzing 17 cases for differences in the subjects' quantitative scores, a qualitative analysis was carried out on one representative case. The quantitative analysis results reveal that the experiment group showed a significant increase in their scores of adaptive behavior and self-management skills compared to the comparison group. Positive changes were also observed among the former group in the qualitative analysis. Thus the host family experience program was effective in improving the adaptive behavior and self-management skills of the children with severe disabilities at the facility. These findings indicate that the host family experience program played a positive role in enhancing the adaptive behavior and self-management skills of the children with severe disabilities at the facility and that such host family experience programs should be applied and reinforced in the field of social welfare practice.

구강보건교육 프로그램이 성인집단의 구강보건지식 및 구강건강행위에 미치는 영향 (The effect of dental health education on dental health knowledge, dental health behavior of adult group)

  • This study was conducted to evaluated the effects of improvement on dental health behavior and dental health knowledge of adult group through dental health education program, the study subjects were 75, education group being 37(male 19, female 18) and non-education group being 38(male 19, female 19). who being in 2 office. The results of this study were as follow: 1. In the primary survey, the education group and non-education group showed no differences in sex, age, job year, income, smoking, self-rated dental health statues, DMFT index, a number of cervical abrasion tooth, dental health behavior, dental health knowledge. 2. before education program the use of tooth brushing method of horizontal+vertical was 40.6%, after education program the use of tooth brushing method of rolling was 89.2% in education group. 3. after education program the tooth brushing times was increased after-meal brushing, especially increased from 40.5% to 93.8% at after midday meal brushing. 4. the difference of mean change of dental health knowledge score after oral health education program had been studied. dental health knowledge score increased in 9.8 in the education group and non-education group in 1.6(pE0.001). 5. the difference of mean change of oral health promotion behavior after oral health education program had been studied, the frequence of tooth brushing(pE0.05), flossing(pE0.001), tongue brushing(pE0.001) was significantly increased in education group compare to non-education group. Above findings suggest that dental health education program was effective in improving the dental health behavior, dental health knowledge of the adult group.

비만중재프로그램이 비만 여대생의 신체구성, 혈압, 혈중지질 및 자기조절행위에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Weight Control Program on Body Composition, Blood Pressure, Serum Lipid and Self-Regulation Behavior in Obese College Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of weight control program on body composition(body mass index and waist-hip ratio), blood pressure, serum lipids(total cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein) and self-regulation behavior in obese college women. Methods: Forty seven obese subjects were divided into experimental(22) and control(25) groups. The weight control program lasting 12 weeks consisted of a traffic-light diet, jumping-rope exercises, and behavior modification methods with e-mail counseling. The data were collected from 29 March to 17 September of 2004. The variables were assessed before and after intervention for 12 weeks in two groups. Then, those were repeated after a 12 week suspension of intervention in the experimental group. The data were analysed by the SPSS computer program. Results: BMI, HDL, LDL and self-regulation behavior levels showed significant differences between the experimental and control groups. While there were no significant differences in waist-hip ratio, blood pressure, total cholesterol and triglyceride. Conclusion: The weight control program had a positive effect on obese college women, and can be used to control obesity.

학령전기 흡연예방프로그램이 아동의 흡연 지식, 흡연 태도 및 흡연대처 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of a Smoking Prevention Program on Knowledge and Attitude toward Smoking and Smoking Coping Behavior among Preschool Children)

  • Purpose: This study was to evaluate the effects of a smoking prevention program among preschool children. Method: This study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 141 preschool children aged 6 or 7 at two childcare centers in Jecheon City, who were divided into an experimental group (n=66) and a control group (n=75). The smoking prevention program was applied through 9 sessions and 30 minutes per session. Surveys were conducted before and after the smoking prevention program to examine the preschoolers' knowledge and attitude toward smoking and smoking coping behavior. Results: There were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in smoking knowledge (t=-2.02, p=.044) and smoking coping behavior (t=-2.01 p=.047), but smoking attitude (t=-1.20, p=.230) was not statistically significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion: As a result, further research is needed into the long term effects of a smoking prevention program on the future behavior of preschoolers so that the health benefits of early prevention can be quantified. It is necessary for parents to participate actively in influencing preschoolers' attitudes and behaviors with regard to the avoidance of smoking.

The Effect of Creative Potential on Innovation Behavior: focusing on Design Thinking

  • Purpose: The purpose of study is to examine the effects of design thinking-based programs on creative potential, creativity and innovation behavior, as well as the mediating effect of creative potential and creativity. Research design, data and methodology: The study was conducted through a four-step process. First, the previous studies were investigated. Second, a total of three experts were reviewed to improve and supplement the program. Third, a workshop-based design thinking program was conducted four times. Fourth, the effectiveness of the program was reviewed through data analysis. Results: The design thinking-based program was found to have a statistically positive effect on creative potential, creativity, and innovation behavior. As another hypothesis of this study, by applying the design thinking-based program, it was statistically confirmed that creative potential has a direct, indirect effect, and a mediating effect on innovation behavior. Conclusions: These results provide usability for design thinking in terms of direction for creativity-based creative problem solving and innovation. Finally, design thinking can be used to develop and utilize new services and discover new ideas, especially improve the competitiveness of the company. In addition, it means that the level of innovation action can vary depending on the level of the individual's creative potential.

범이론과 여가모형을 적용한 절주프로그램이 문제음주행위와 인지에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Drinking-Reduction Program Adopting Transtheoretical and Leisure Models on Problem Drinking Behavior and Cognition)

  • Purpose: This study is to examine the effects of the drinking-reduction program that utilizes transtheoretical model and leisure ability model on the problem drinking behavior, alcohol outcome expectancy, and abstinence self-efficacy of. problem drinkers at workplaces. Method: The subjects consisted of 54 male problem drinkers who scored over 12 points in the AUDIT-K with 23 persons in the experimental group and 31 persons in the control group. The research results were analyzed using the SAS program with Chi-square test, t-test, repeated ANOVA, and post-hoc comparison. Results: 1) The experimental group showed a significantly lower score in problem drinking behavior than the control group. 2) The experimental group showed a significantly lower score in alcohol outcome expectancy than the control group. 3) The experimental group showed a significantly higher score in abstinence self-efficacy than the control group. Conclusion: These results demonstrate that the drinking-reduction program effectively reduces the drinking behavior of problem drinkers at workplaces, reduces alcohol outcome expectancy, and enhances abstinence self-efficacy. Accordingly, it is considered that a drinking-reduction program can be a useful nursing intervention method for problem drinkers at workplaces to reduce drinking and improve the quality of life.

건강교육프로그램이 대학생의 건강증진행위와 자기효능감에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of a Health Education Program on Health Promoting Behavior and Self-efficacy in University Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a health education program on the health promoting behavior and self-efficacy in university students and evaluate its effects. Method: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The subjects were 148 students [experimental(N=80) and control(N=68) groups] from a university in J City. The experimental group members participated in thirteen sessions of a health education program for fifteen weeks and the degree of their health promoting behavior and self efficacy was evaluated. The instruments for this study were the health promoting lifestyle profile developed by Walker et al.(1987) and self-efficacy scale developed by Sherer & Maddux(1982). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Chi-square tests, t-tests, and paired t-test using SPSS 10.0. Result: The experimental group had a significantly higher health promoting behavior score(F=10.389, p=.002) than the control group, while no significant difference was found in the self-efficacy score(F=.481. p=.489). Conclusion: The results suggest that the health education program can be utilized as an effective program to promote health promoting behavior in university students.

진로장벽탐색 집단상담이 여대생의 진로장벽 인식과 진로준비행동에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of 「The Career Barriers Exploration Counseling Program」 on the Perceived Career Barriers and the Career Preparation Behavior of Women's College Students)

  • 본 연구는 여대생들을 대상으로 진로장벽탐색 집단 상담을 실시하여 여대생들의 진로장벽인식을 완화하고 진로준비행동을 높이기 위해 진로장벽 집단상담의 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 프로그램은 국내에서 연구된 진로상담 프로그램들을 참고하고, 한국 여성개발원 및 직업능력 개발원의 진로자료를 참고하여 개발되었다. 또한 진로장벽과 진로준비행동의 관련 변인들을 연구한 선행연구 및 진로상담 관련 문헌들을 참고하였는데, 무엇보다 Gottfredson(1981)의 진로발달이론을 참고하여 프로그램의 내용을 재구성하였다. 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 실험집단과 통제집단 각각 여대생 10명을 대상으로 사전검사를 실시하였으며 프로그램 종료 직후 사후검사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 자료를 분석하기 위하여 실험집단과 통제집단의 사후 검사 점수에 대한 차이를 확인하는 공분산 분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 연구결과 실험 집단은 통제집단에 비해 진로장벽 인식 전체에서 사후 검사 점수가 현저히 낮은 것을 볼 수 있었고, 진로준비행동은 통제집단에 비해 실험 집단이 사후 검사 점수가 현저히 높은 것을 볼 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 실시된 진로장벽탐색 집단상담은 여대생의 진로장벽수준을 완화하고, 진로준비행동 수준은 높이는데 효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

지역사회 고혈압환자 영양교육의 효과 평가 (Evaluation of the Effectiveness of a Nutrition Education Program for Hypertensive Patients at the Community Level)

  • Hypertension is the major risk factor for cardiovascular disease which is considered the leading cause of death in Korea. Since nonpharmarologic dietary intervention is recommended as the first step in the management of hypertension, evaluation of intervention programs is needed to formulate strategies for improving patients' dietary adherence. This study was designed to evaluate the overall effectiveness of a hypertension nutrition education program (HNEP) at a public health center, by assessing changes in nutrition knowledge, food attitude, self-efficacy, dietary behavior, and nutrient intake after program completion. An HNEP was conducted in Suwon city for 5 months in 1999 by a public health center. The program provided 3 sessions of group education with individual nutrition counseling. Thirty-five patients participated fully in the program out of 62 enrollees. Data about nutrition knowledge, food attitude, self-efficacy, dietary behavior, and intake (24-hour recall) were collected before (baseline) and after the program. Post program results indicate the following : 1) nutrition knowledge and perception of importance of nutrition significantly increased, 2) food attitudes also improved, 3) the self-efficacy for maintaining a low salt diet was increased significantly, whereas self-efficacy for maintaining a low fat diet or dietary guidelines was not improved, 4) frequency of intake of processed food, animal fat, and sweets as well as frequency of dining out were significantly reduced, 5) nutrient intake was not improved after the program, 6) the most serious barrier for participating in the program and practicing diet therapy was lack of time and willingness. In conclusion, it appears that HNEP might improve food attitudes, individual perceptions and self-efficacy for desirable eating behavior, but it might not improve dietary intake. It follows then, that a long term intervention program may need to increase effectiveness of patient dietary adherence.
