  • 산업 현장에서는 많은 종류의 감속기들이 사용되고 있다. 그 중 로봇에서는 사이클로이드(cycloid) 치형 혹은 인벌루트(involute) 치형을 가진 고정밀도의 감속기를 사용한다. 그 이유는 로봇 시스템에서는 위치 제어를 하는데 있어서 고정밀의 감속기를 사용하는 것이 필수적이기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 기본적으로는 삼각형 치형을 가지고 있지만 새로운 직선치형을 갖는 로봇 감속기(RSR)를 제안한다. 제안한 감속기는 유한요소 해석법을 이용한 강도, 응력, 강성 테스트에서 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 편심계수를 변화시켜 최적의 치형 운동을 얻을 수 있도록 설계하여 응력이 적게 걸리고 소음을 낮출 수 있도록 하였다.

  • 산업현장에서는 공장 자동화의 발전에 따라 많은 로봇들이 사람을 대신하고 있다. 일반적으로 산업 현장에서 사용되는 로봇은 고정밀도의 감속기를 필요로 한다. 고정밀의 제어를 위해서는 cycloid 치형 혹은 인벌류트 치형을 가진 감속기를 사용하게 된다. 이러한 감속기는 낮은 백래쉬와 높은 감속비를 가지면서 동시에 치형의 높은 강성을 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서는 새로이 고안한 직선 치형을 가진 로봇 감속기(RSR) 치형의강성을 FEM 해석을 통해 실제로 적용이 가능한지 여부를 시뮬레이션 해보았으며, 실제로도 적용이 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

관개용수로에서의 수면곡선 계산 (Water Surface Profile Computations at Irrigation Channel Networks)

  • A water surface profile computation model using a standard step procedure was developed for gradually varied flow at an irrigation channel network. Flow characteristics ab Banweol district near Suweon were field monitored during irrigation periol of 1987. The model was applied to the main system at the district and the simulation results were compared to the field data. The results are sumrnarized as follows ; 1. The simulated water surface profiles from the model were in good agreement with the measured water surface profiles at different flow rates. 2. The model applicability for defining a stage-discharge relationship at a channel reach was demonstrated with reasonable accuracy when water stage and friction factor were given. 3. The roughness coefficient was found to be a major factor sigrificantly affecting computed water surface profile among a few physical input parameters for the model.

  • The work roll of a Sendzimir mill has a small diameter in comparison to its length, so it is easily deformed by the rolling pressure. It also has a complex back up roll system, so it is difficult to analyze the roll deformation. For this reason in Part I we have developed a model which predicts the radial displacement of the roll. In this paper, we apply the model to a Sendzimir mill and propose a new model for the prediction of the deformed roll profile in a Sendzimir mill. The prediction accuracy of the new model is demonstrated through comparison of the predictions from the FE model.

  • Prevention of drowsy driving is one of the important issues for safe driving. In this study, the algorithm for detection of drowsy driving has been developed. The algorithm was implemented by applying template matching and line profile, which detects eye blink. The accuracy of eye detection and blink detection was $97.45{\pm}3.67%$ and $98.50{\pm}0.92%$, which was resulted from the verification experiment that 21 subjects participated. Consequently, the algorithm is expected to be used to prevent sleep-deprived driving.

  • In the current study, we present a new model for the prediction of the strip profile and the residual stresses. This new approach is an analytical model that predicts the residual stresses from the effect of post-deformation. Since the residual stress cannot exceed the yield strength of the material, post-yielding may possibly occur in the post-deformation zone prior to the strip reaching the steady-state zone. The prediction accuracy of the proposed model is examined through comparison with the predictions from 3-D finite element (FE) simulations.

  • The inverse problem of determining unknown inlet temperature in thermally developing, hydrodynamically developed two phase laminar flow in a parallel plate duct is considered. The inlet temperature profile is determined by measuring temperature in the flow field. No prior information is needed for the functional form of the inlet temperature profile. The inverse convection problem is solved by minimizing the objective function with regularization method. The conjugate gradient method as iterative method and the Tikhonov regularization method are employed. The effects of the functional form of inlet temperature, the number of measurement points and the measurement errors are investigated. The accuracy and efficiency of these two methods are compared and discussed.

  • In the transportation industry, especially in the shipbuilding process, 3D surface measurement of large-scale hull pieces is needed for fabrication and assembly. We suggest an efficient method for checking the shape of curved plates under the forming operation with short time by measuring 3D profiles along the multi lines of the target surface. For accurate profile reconstruction, 2D camera calibration and 3D calibration using gauge blocks were performed. The evaluation test shows that the measurement accuracy is within the boundary of tolerance required in the shipbuilding process.

  • Fizeau interferometer is well known optical instrument for measuring the lens profile accurately. The object of this study is focused on the design and optical measuring techniques for large optical components, such as a reflection mirror for astronomical purpose. Measuring of large optical lens, the object could not be moved as small one but the measuring instrument must be moved for the alignment, because of the geometric conditions and the accuracy of the stage. Therefore, a five axis stage is designed to align the Interferometer instead of the measuring object. This instrument will be used for an on machine measuring system in polishing machine for large optical lens.

Applying Image Analysis to Automatic Inspection of Fabric Density for Woven Fabrics

  • The gray line-profile method is introduced to find fabric density. Some patterned fabrics like stripe design as well as solid fabrics of basic weave structures are used to verify the efficiency and accuracy of the method. The approach is compared with Fourier transform method. Although the gray line-profile method is concise, it shows good results in both solid and patterned fabrics. In addition, it does not require a pre-processing or filtering technique in space or frequency domain to enhance the image suitable for the analysis. However, the approach is slightly influenced by the filter size for finding the local minimums of profile graph.
