  • This study introduces and empirically test the validity of Bass model that helps demand forecasting of new game products. The application of Bass model to new game products show that Bass model predicts the demand of new game accurately. In particular, it showed very good predictability of on-line game products.

  • As one of indirect ways to get an optimal answer for sensitive questions both lower and upper values are sometimes asked and collected. In this paper a statistical method is proposed to analyze this kind of data using graphics. This method could define each sample median and estimate an optimal value between lower and upper bounds. In particular we find that this method has similar explanations of an equilibrium price with demand and supply functions in Economics.

Differences in Clinical Professors' Work-Life Balance by Position in Medical Schools (의과대학 임상교수 직급에 따른 일과 삶의 균형 차이 )

  • We investigated the work-life balance of clinical professors in charge of patient care, research, and education at medical schools and the demand for work-life balance support according to position (professor, associate professor, or assistant professor). In total, 163 clinical professors completed the consent form and participated in the study. They filled out an online survey consisting of questions about essential characteristics, a work-life balance test, stress, burnout, work-life satisfaction, and work-life balance support needs. We analyzed the results by analysis of variance and cross-tabulation using IBM SPSS ver. 23.0. Differences were found in work-life balance, stress, burnout, and satisfaction with life and work by position. The requirements for support for work-life balance also varied by professional status. Professors had a higher balance between life and work than associate professors or assistant professors. The specific requirements for work-life balance support were also slightly different for each position. Overall, there was a high demand for work process simplification and efficiency for work support, flexible working hours and sabbatical years for family and leisure, and career management consulting and training support for growth. Assistant professors and associate professors had a lower level of work-life balance than professors, as well as higher levels of stress and burnout. Professors' job satisfaction was also higher than that of the other groups. Based on the results of this study, we hope that a healthy work environment can be established through work-life balance support suitable for clinical professors' positions.

Needs Assessment of Applying Anger Management Program based on Professor-students Counseling Activity for University Students: Focus Group Interview in University Students (교수-학생 면담활동을 활용한 대학생의 분노관리 프로그램 운영에 대한 요구도 조사: 대학생 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand and describe the demand of applying an anger management program for university students, based on professor-student counseling activity. 2016, data was collected using five focus group interviews were recorded and transcribed. All interviews were recorded and transcribed, and data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. We extracted the following 9 categories across 3 main themes: 1) Views on applying an anger management program based on professor-student counseling activity: required or not required; 2) Competence of the professor: trust, counseling expertise, and receptive attitude; and 3) Effective program management plans: separation from the advisor or reducing the role of the advisor, program composition and contents, administrative support from the university, facilitating a supportive environment for counseling. In conclusion, enhancement can be achieved through an anger management program based on professor-student counseling activity by focusing efforts on increasing interactions between professors and students, and improving the counseling competence of professors. Additionally, administrative support from the university and steps to improve awareness in professors, students, and university authorities are necessary.

  • At the moment the housing demand needs estimated at the level of provinces and big cities. But at the level of small cities and smaller administrative unit like Goon, it is not, for lack of appropriate estimating method. Therefore it is very much required to develope appropriate estimating method at such levels. This study is an attempt to apply to some local areas the estimating method developed by Professor Miyqke of Japan as is suggested in his article. "How to Estimate the Housing Demand in Relation with the Different of Poulation Structure." The result shows that the applied local areas showed repective characteristics distinguished from one another in the pattern of housing demand, to prove the approprateness of the method when applied to the areas at the level of small cities and Goons.

  • This paper presents an evolution program for optimal expansion problem with backlogs in demand which is to determine when and how much capacity should be added under varying types of demand and cost. To overcome premature convergence and stalling, we employ an exponential-fitness scaling scheme. To improve the chromosomes, we introduce hetero-dimensional mutation which generates a new dimension and produces a feasible solution, and homo-dimensional mutation which mutates the chromosomes in the negative of gradient direction. Finally, a numerical example is discussed.

  • The employment permit system for foreigners, which stresses introduction of foreign work force in a legal manner rather than in the position of being trainees, is anticipated to efficiently improve introduction and the overall management system of foreign work force and related difficulties such as illegal alien problems, absurdity on sending laborers overseas. In this paper, a prospective model of supply and demand of work force has been developed basing on various categories of industries and patterns about nationally practical foreign employees to look over efficient supply and demand of work force suiting employment of foreigner among foreign work force policies. To propose the prospective model, we have derived industry- and pattern-related matrixes of foreign laborers basing on Inter-Industry Analysis Method put forth by Professor Leontiyef in 1930, and through the derived matrix assessed repercussions concerning overall domestic industries and foreigner types and decided yearly weight; the capacity of supply and demand of foreign laborers can be compared through proposed statistical estimation and government estimation by combining the determined weight with yearly incomes of foreign laborers. This paper has thoroughly considered the particularity of our employment permit system for foreigners and applied the Weibull distribution and incorporated the dependence of foreign laborers during the limited period of 3 years to the industry relation analysis, ultimately proposing an efficient supply and demand method about domestic foreign work force.

The Model Development of Satisfaction Measurement Index of Education Service and the Improvement Plan of IPA (교육서비스의 만족도지수 모형개발 및 IPA를 통한 개선방안)

  • The awareness of education service is undergoing a transition from demand side to supply side. This study 1) develops an evaluation model of education service composed of three core factors(curriculum content, professor activities, job search activity) and additional factors(public welfare, education environment, campus life), 2) verifies a model using the structural equation model, 3) calculates the satisfaction measurement index of education service, and 4) proposes the results of IPA for evaluating the satisfaction measurement of education service. The results show significant notions that core factors(curriculum content, professor activities, job search activities) and additional factors(public welfare, education environment, campus life) determine students satisfaction, and that student satisfaction effects the recommend purpose significantly. Especially, student satisfaction influenced curriculum content, job search activity, campus life, public welfare, professor activities, education environment in order. This study provides improved strategic implications based on the calculated results of component satisfaction measurement index, and the results of IPA.
