This study presents how a professional development program (PD) of K-12 teachers affects participants' use of the earth system approach and their perceptions of using the urban environment for their science teaching and lesson unit development. This study utilized mixed methods to collect and analyze the data. Eleven urban teachers' pre-post lessons (45 lessons) were analyzed quantitatively using a lesson plan analysis tool, modified by the author, and their lesson reflections were analyzed qualitatively. The findings of this study show that the PD program influences the teachers to choose more topics and content knowledge based on the earth system approach and to assess the topics and content knowledge with more appropriate methods. Specifically, the teachers use more urban environmental factors/topics in their post lesson to teach the environmental topics of urban area. However, according to the statistical analysis of pre-and postlesson plan scores, the accuracy of the earth system knowledge that participants used in their lessons did not change significantly (p<0.05) (Table 4), which means that the PD program did not affect the improvement of the teacher's content knowledge in earth system science. Implications of this study are discussed.

This research is the case study of collaborative mentoring in the professional development of multi-tiered mathematics teacher community. We observed the procedures of mentoring, and contents of mentoring in PD program. For this purpose, we implemented PD program with participant unit composed of 3 or 4 teachers in the same school and total 25 teachers from 4 elementary schools and 4 high schools. Also there were 1 mentor and 1 sub-mentor to support each school. Observed mentoring processes were all recorded and the participants not only were interviewed several times but also wrote reflection notes after meetings. While mentoring PD program was implemented, mentor and mentee had joint responsibility about lessons implemented by mentee. Furthermore It showed possibility of change of teacher learning culture, learning culture of community. It means that teacher would improve their professionalism more effectively within teacher community instead of individual. 4 reflection contents was founded in collaborative mentring; 1)purpose of mathematics education, 2)motivation and connection between previous lecture and present lecture 3)lack of mathematical contents in lesson 4)discourse between teacher and students.

The Continuing Professional Development(CPD) program of Korean dentists had probroms that did not resolve for many years. The primary concern of this study is to examine the problems of the CPD program of Korean dentists and to suggest practical guidelines to resolve such barriers. The findings show that the major barrier for improving CPD program is the lack of total quality management. In order to enhance the CPD program, Special plans and resolutions, such as functional organization, recertification system, pool of verified instructor, and evaluation of CPD program, have been suggested.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify professional competencies of visiting nurses in public health centers. Methods: A methodological study for the development of visiting nurses' professional competency was conducted through the review of literature and construction of a conceptual framework for the development of professional competence. After reviewing the content validity of each question and confirming the items of the preliminary tool, the construct validity of the tool was verified through exploratory factor analysis and internal reliability was confirmed. Results: After constructing 5 factors relating to the visiting nurse's professional competence, 25 items were developed, based on verification of content validity by experts. The results of the exploratory factor analysis showed that the professional competence of the visiting nurse was influenced by factors such as "health assessment and screening," "health teaching and counseling," "interprofessional communication", "program planning and implementation", and "Professional development". These five factors accounted for 76.38% of the professional competencies of the visiting nurse. Conclusion: The professional competence of the visiting nurse is consistent with the aim of the visiting nursing project. Also our results will contribute to baseline data used to evaluate the quality of work of the visiting nurse.

본 연구에서는 수학교육분야에서 전문성 신장 프로그램 연구 및 수행에 대한 고찰을 통해 드러나는 다섯 가지 중요한 범주들이 기술되었다: (1) 효율적인 지원 공동체 수립, (2) 교사 지식에의 주목, (3) 학생의 학습에 대한 지식을 기반으로 한 교사지식의 구성, (4) 인식기반 및 개념기반 관점, (5) 장기간에 걸친 현장에서의 교사교육. 결론에서는 바람직한 교사교육 프로그램이 포함해야 할 요소들과 앞으로 이 분야에서 이루어져야할 연구방향 등이 제시된다.

Recent international reform movements call for attention on modeling in mathematics classrooms. However, definitions and enactment principles are unclear in policy documents. In this case study, we investigated United States high-school mathematics teachers' experiences in a professional development program focused on modeling and its enactment in schools. Our findings share teachers' experiences around their discovery of different conceptualizations, appreciations, and conflicts as they envisioned incorporating modeling into classrooms. These experiences show how professional development can be designed to engage teachers with forms of modeling, and that those experiences can inspire them to consider modeling as an imperative feature of a mathematics program.

이 연구에서는 수업컨설팅을 통하여 초임교사 지원 실태와 초임교사의 전문성 개발 노력을 분석하였다. 수업동영상 분석을 위한 컨설팅 협의회, 초임교사와의 면담 자료 등을 활용하여 초임 과학교사들의 전문성 개발 실태와 개선 방안을 탐색하였다. 분석대상으로 한 수업은 중학교 3학년 일과 에너지 단원의 9차시 수업이며, 6명의 초임교사와 선배 교사로 구성된 6명의 컨설팅 협의진이 차시별 수업을 교차분석하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 초임교사들의 경우 초임시절에 수업에 대한 교사의 반성적 실천이 없고, 수업하는 방법에 대한 안내도 없어서 대개는 배운 방식대로 학생을 가르치는 경향이 발견된다. 교사로서의 전문성 개발 측면에서도 잡무가 많아서 수업준비를 할 시간이 없을 뿐만 아니라 교사들 사이에 수업에 대한 의사소통이 없었다. 이러한 실태 진단에 대한 대안으로 선배교사들은 초임교사 지원을 위한 시보교사 제도 도입과 교사 협의회의 필요성을 제안하였다. 결론에서는 초임교사 지원을 위한 효과적인 입문 프로그램이 갖추어야 할 조건을 논의하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 수학교사들의 전문성 개발을 위하여 국내 수학교사 연수 프로그램의 개선 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 우리나라 수학교사 연수 현황을 살펴보고, 수학교사 전문성의 개념을 확고히 정립하고 뚜렷한 전략을 지닌 다섯 가지 국외 수학교사 전문성 개발 프로그램들을 선정하여 각 프로그램의 목적, 진행 과정, 초점을 두는 요소, 지원 등에 관해 살펴보았다. 이후 각 프로그램의 장단점 및 유형을 분석하였고, 이를 바탕으로 우리나라 수학교사 연수 프로그램에 주는 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

본 고는 실재 학교 상황 내에서 교사의 실재를 위한 전문성 향상 프로그램에의 기여를 위한 실험 수업을 제시하는 데 그 의의를 두고 있다. 이러한 전문성 신장을 위한 프로그램의 고안은 Dewey의 반영적 사고와 이론과 실재의 연계에 그 지향하는 바를 두고 있다. 또한 색심적 구저적 특성은 Garet, Porter, Desimone, Birman & Kwang (2001)이 제안한 전문성 신장을 위한 프로그램에 따라 시도되었으며, 교사들이 자신의 실재에 반영할 수 있고 자신의 교수-학습을 자가 생성(Carpenter & Leher, 1999)될 수 있게 함을 그 궁극적인 목적으로 둔 실험수업을 제안하였다.

On the process of research in the plan on oriental medical participation in the industrial health sponsored by BK21 project, we carried out the oriental medical health examination program for workers during former half-year We reached the conclusion as follows, 1. The oriental medical health examination program is contents and formalities that should be determined by present industrial health system, based on the oriental medical system and scholastic character, and included probability of the western and oriental medical cooperation. 2. The oriental medical health examination program can promote capability of individual health management and productive power of workers, and it is capable to manage on the self-conscious symptoms and macroschophically approach to their environment 3. The oriental medical health examination program that we have developed, is flow as questionare, understanding of working environment, information of result and later management. It is composed of three fields as follow , first, use of pulse diagnostic apparatus, understanding of the health promotion life style, and diagnosis of the oriental medical doctor, second, analysis of constitution, third, photographing for understanding of the musculoskeletal disorders, questionare for musculoskeletal self-conscious symptoms, and diagnosis of oriental medical doctor. 4. The oriental medical health examination program that we have developed, progressive from the view point of health, makes the oriental medical doctor's roll more important. It is the first trial at the western and oriental medical cooperation and characterized by excellence about musouloskeletal disorders. But it need to be improved in aspects of time and specialist on the health examination, diagnostic apparatus, control of examinant and later management. So we think that it needs research on the employment of health examination specialist, establishment of later management system, development of significantly diagnosable standard and assessable form on the health examination, and contents of health examination on the western and oriental medical cooperation.
