치과의사와의 관계에서 치과위생사와 간호조무사의 직종 간 갈등 연구 (A study on conflicts between different occupational categories of dental hygienists and nursing assistances in terms of relationships with dentist)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the state of conflicts among dental health care workers. A survey was conducted on 266 dental hygienists and nursing assistants who worked in dental institutions from September 12 to November 13, 2017, and SPSS(statistical package for the social science) version 20.0 was employed to analyze the collected data. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. The most common reason of the dental hygienists for turnover was working hours and heavy workload(24.6%), followed by pay (22.6%), conflicts with dentists(16.0%) and conflicts with colleagues (11.3%). The most dominant reason of the nursing assistants for turnover was pay(31.1%), followed by working hours(24.4%), heavy workload(17.8%), conflicts with dentists(15.6%) and conflicts with colleagues(8.9%). 2. The largest reason for unsuccessful communication with dentists was that heavy workload reduced the opportunity to communicate well(54.5%). The second biggest reason was that they couldn't communicate well though they had the opportunity(24.0%), and the third greatest reason was that they tended to lag behind dentists in terms of professional knowledge(16.9%). 3. The biggest reason for unsuccessful communication among the dental health care workers was that they didn't have a lot of chances to communicate well on account of heavy workload(41.0%). The second largest reason was the differences in professional knowledge(24.9%), and the third greatest reason was that they couldn't communicate well though they had the chance(23.7%). 4. The most dominant reason for conflicts with dentists was the difference in power(24.0%), followed by poor communication skills(22.1%) and a lack of mutual respect(18.1%). But the opinions of the nursing assistants were different from those of the dental hygienists, as they cited poor communication skills as the most common reason, which was followed by the difference in power and a shortage of understanding of each other's work. 5. The most common reason for conflicts among the dental health care workers was a shortage of communication and communication skills(22.9%), and the second most dominant reasons were a lack of mutual respect and poor understanding of each other's work(17.5%), followed by a lack of mutual respect(17.2%). 6. As to the ways of resolving conflicts with dentists, the most common case was making some mutual concessions to compromise (28.9%), followed by delivering opinions through the staff meeting (23.9%), resolving conflicts by candidly exchanging opinions(15.8%), avoiding each other in moderation(11.7%) and following the opinions or assertions of dentists(1.3%). 7. Concerning the conflict resolution methods among the dental health care workers, the most prevalent way was making some mutual concessions to compromise(36.4%), followed by resolving conflicts by candidly exchanging opinions(23.0%) and conveying opinions through the staff meeting(18.5%). 8. Regarding communication among the dental health care workers, the dental hygienists(3.53±.729) considered themselves to be better at communicating than the nursing assistants(3.29±.745) did(p<0.05), and the dental hygienists(3.45±.809) who thought there was respectful treatment among workers who were different in occupational categories found themselves to be better than the nursing assistants(3.21±.952) who had the same thought did(p<0.05). As a result of analyzing whether frequent job-related meetings occurred among the workers whose occupational categories were different, the dental hygienists(3.05±.975) perceived that there were more frequent meetings than the nursing assistants(2.67±.955) did (p<0.01).

Secondary Teachers' Perspectives on Mathematical Modeling and Modeling Mathematics: Discovery, Appreciation, and Conflict

  • Recent international reform movements call for attention on modeling in mathematics classrooms. However, definitions and enactment principles are unclear in policy documents. In this case study, we investigated United States high-school mathematics teachers' experiences in a professional development program focused on modeling and its enactment in schools. Our findings share teachers' experiences around their discovery of different conceptualizations, appreciations, and conflicts as they envisioned incorporating modeling into classrooms. These experiences show how professional development can be designed to engage teachers with forms of modeling, and that those experiences can inspire them to consider modeling as an imperative feature of a mathematics program.

연구 관련 이해상충에 대한 법정책적 문제와 대응방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Legal Policy Problems and Countermeasures about Conflicts of Interest)

  • 연구와 관련하여 다중적 이해관계(multiple interests)를 가지고 있는 연구자, 기관생명윤리위원회 및 임상시험심사위원회 위원, 연구기관 등은 전문적인 판단(professional judgment)을 내림에 있어 이해상충(Conflicts of Interest)의 문제가 발생하지 않도록, 즉 자신이 수행해야 하는 역할이나 이행해야 하는 의무에 의하면 반드시 고려되어야만 하거나 보다 우선시되어야하는 1차적 이해(primary interest)가 그렇지 않은 2차적 이해(secondary interest)로 인해 영향을 받지 않도록 하여야 한다. 그러므로 이해상충의 문제의 발생을 예방하거나 발생된 이해상충의 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 하기 위해 기준과 방법이 마련되어 있어야 하고, 이와 관련한 기본적인 사항은 모든 당사자가 이해하고 따를 수 있도록 하기 위해 법정책적으로 명확하게 제시될 필요가 있다. 보다 현실성 있는 법정책의 마련을 위해서는 현황 파악이 전제되어야 할 것이므로 연구 관련 주요 실무자인 기관생명윤리위원회 및 임상시험심사위원회의 운영지원인력(행정간사)을 대상으로 하여 수행된 설문조사 및 인터뷰의 결과를 살펴봄으로써 이해상충과 관련한 법정책적 쟁점과 이의 해결을 위한 대응방안에 관한 의견을 확인해보았다. 그리고 향후 이해상충에 대한 국내 법정책의 마련에 도움을 주고자 미국 보건부에서 발표한 이해상충 관련 지침의 주요 내용을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로, 이해상충과 관련한 국내 법정책의 현황을 연구자의 이해상충, 기관생명윤리위원회 및임상시험심사위원회위원의 이해상충, 기관의 이해상충으로 구분하여 파악해보고 그 개선방안을 제시하였다.

  • A conflict of interest is usually defined as a set of circumstances that creates a risk that professional judgments or actions regarding a primary interest will be unduly influenced by a secondary interest. In general, a conflict of interest can be classified as either a financial or a non-financial one. A financial conflict of interest reportedly occurs frequently in medical (and psychiatric) research and practice and is associated with a greater likelihood of reporting results favorable to the intervention being studied. A non-financial conflict of interest may occur in psychiatric research and practice as a result of the so-called "allegiance effect." It is very important that clinicians and researchers in the field of psychiatry be aware that their field is vulnerable to both financial and non-financial conflicts of interest. Considering that it is impossible in modern psychiatry to be completely free from possible conflicts of interest, the best way to manage a conflict of interest is disclosure based on the principles of transparency. Actions that might lead to conflicts of interest should be avoided as much as possible.

의·치·한의학 간 분쟁에 관한 역사적 고찰 (A Historical Consideration of Dispute Among Physicians, Dentists, and Korean Medicine Doctors)

  • Until recently, dentistry did not show notable social conflicts with other medical professionals. This means that conflicts did not surface as medical doctors took the dominant position even though areas of intervention have been overlapped. The recent conflict between medical professionals, which began with clashes in the area of oral and maxillofacial surgery, have been embodied in the Supreme Court ruling on the use of Botox by dentists and the court ruling on the use of oral devices in oriental medicine. We look discuss at each case in detail to seek a solution to the problem of interprofessional conflict. We present professional duty of self-development and interprofessional education as a way to resolve disputes between medical professionals, which would be a major problem in the future of dentistry and medicine.

전담간호사의 역할갈등과 전문직 자아개념이 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Role Conflict and Professional Self-Concept on Job Satisfaction of Physician Assistant Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study is investigate the role conflict, professional self-concept, and job satisfaction degree of the physician assistant nurses, and to grasp the factors affecting job satisfaction. Methods: Data were collected from September to October, 2018 and 156 physician assistant nurses working at one certified tertiary hospital, four general hospitals, using self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The degree of job satisfaction of the subject was 2.76 out of 5. The influential factors in the job satisfaction of the subjects were professional self-concept (β=.51, p<.001), and role conflict (β=-.29, p<.001), affected job satisfaction by 53.5%. Conclusion: In order to improve the job satisfaction of physician assistant nurses, the role conflict should be solved and a plan to form a positive self-concept should be sought. Therefore, through the identification of the roles that are appropriate to the situation in Korea and the legal and institutional positioning, they will need to be recognized and developed.

한국의 사서직 윤리규정 방향 제안 (A New Model for Codes of Ethics for Librarians of South Korea)

  • 21세기 지식기반 사회는 사서직에게 전문직으로서의 윤리규정의 필요성과 준수를 요구하고 있다. 세계 각국의 협회 및 전문직 단체에서는 전문직의 기준과 윤리강령을 발표하고 있으며, 도서관이 나아가야 할 방향 제시와 더불어 사서들로 하여금 명시된 기본적인 윤리 개념을 준수하도록 하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 미국을 비롯하여 영국, 일본, 한국 도서관의 사서직의 윤리규정을 조사하였다. 조사된 결과를 바탕으로 각국의 윤리규정과 한국의 것을 비교하여 개선된 사서직 윤리규정 모델을 제안하였다. 개선된 사서직 윤리규정은 크게 정보윤리와 전문직 윤리로 구성된다. 정보윤리는 평등한 접근 및 서비스, 검열의 거부, 사생활 보호, 사서의 중립성, 지적자유보장의 6가지 항목을 필수요소로 제안하였다. 전문직 윤리에는 개인적 이익배제, 전문지식의 계속적 발전 및 노력, 전문직 위상 유지, 전문직 임무와 소속된 기관에 대한 갈등, 동료 및 다른 업자와의 관계, 권리와 복지를 위한 고용조건 확보, 도서관간의 상호협력, 문화창조에의 공헌 등을 주요 요소로 제안하였다.

일부 치위생과 학생들의 임상실습 스트레스와 직업정체감에 관한 융합 관계 연구 (Convergence relationship study on clinical practice stress and professional identity in some dental hygiene students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 임상실습 스트레스와 직업정체감의 융합 관계를 조사하고자 전남지역 3개 대학 치위생과 3학년 171명을 대상으로 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 18.0 통계프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 직업정체감은 임상실습 교육환경(r=-0.352, p<0.01), 임상실습 업무부담(r=-0.185, p<0.05), 환자와의 갈등(r=-0.181, p<0.05)과 유의한 음의 상관관계를 보였다. 치위생과 학생들의 직업정체감에 영향을 미치는 융합요인은 임상실습 교육환경(${\beta}=-0.261$), 적성 고려(${\beta}=0.238$), 타인의 권유(${\beta}=-0.186$), 임상실습 불만족(${\beta}=-0.176$) 순으로 나타났다. 설명력은 23.7%로 나타났다. 따라서 치위생과 학생들의 임상실습 스트레스와 직업정체감의 관계를 파악하여 원활한 인력공급을 위한 프로그램 개발이 필요하리라 생각된다.

한.양방 통합의료의 갈등과 방향에 대한 연구 - 한.양방 의료 및 관련 종사자 대상 심층면접을 중심으로 - (Research on the Conflicts and Future Direction of Integrative Medicine in Korea)

  • This study examined the knowledge and understanding of integrative medicine in Korea, specifically conflicts between western and oriental medicine within Parallel (Dual) health care systems. Qualitative methodology using grounded theory guided semi-structured, in-depth interviews with Western Medical Doctors (W.M.D., n = 6), Oriental Medical Doctors (O.M.D., n = 5) and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners (T.C.M.P., n = 4). Thematic analysis was used to determine broad themes from the interviews. 15 professionals (W.M.D. (40%), O.M.D. (33%), T.C.M.P. (27%), 10 males (67%) and 5 females (33%), mean age 45) were interviewed, recorded, and transcribed. Thematic analysis revealed three key themes: systematic conflicts, integration and future directions. Subthemes of systematic conflicts included: credibility of Oriental Medicine, commercial imperatives, maintaining social standing of O.M.D., professional qualifications and lack structures supporting collaborative practice. Integration subthemes included lack of academic linkage and clarity for appropriate triage, opposing medical paradigms and limited social imperative. Future directions should include: social justification, guarantee of oriental medicine legitimacy, role of government and understanding of scientific evidence. To successfully integrate dual medical systems there is a need to address differences in social-environmental factors and perceptions of scientific understanding, as well as developing strong academic links in clinical practice.

장애인활동보조서비스 갈등에 관한 에이블뉴스 보도 내용분석 (A Qualitative Content Analysis on the Ablenews Reports on Personal Assistance Service Conflicts)

  • 연구의 목적은 장애뉴스에 특화된 인터넷 독립언론매체 에이블뉴스의 장애인활동보조서비스 갈등 보도에 나타난 주요 주제를 분석하고, 활동보조서비스 갈등에 관한 보도에 내재된 관점을 비판적으로 분석하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 에이블뉴스의 장애인활동보조서비스 갈등 관련 기사들을 자료로 하여 귀납적 질적 내용분석, 인과요소와 책임귀인분석, 장애패러다임분석을 실시하였다. 내용분석결과 에이블뉴스는 장애인활동보조서비스 갈등을 충실히 보도하고 있었으나 책임귀인 분석에 의하면 갈등의 원인과 해결을 장애인이용자와 활동보조인에게 귀인하는 경향이 두드러졌다. 또한 장애패러다임 분석결과 재활모델의 관점을 반영한 텍스트들이 적지 않아 자립생활모델과 밀접한 활동보조서비스 갈등을 보도하면서 독자들에게 재활모델의 관점을 전달할 우려가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 장애에 특화된 독립언론매체로서 보다 전문적인 보도를 위해 전문기자의 활용, 외부 전문기고자의 활용, 편집회의를 통한 기사 게재 등을 제안하였다.
