  • The trouble rank of business management of the small-medium manufacturing enterprises in Korea is constituted by that average 28.6% of production management in the worst trouble of business management from 1982 to 1999. The status of production management approaching problem is analyzed for Korean small-medium manufacturing enterprises and it us checked productivity improvement and requirement facts impede productivity improvement. It is expected to contribute much productivity improvement through a new established model of production management system and technique or tool for small-medium manufacturing enterprises in Korea.

  • The problem of productivity improvement is one of the most challenging problems facing the world economy. This paper studies an analysis of improving personal-computer(PC) company productivity through factory automation. It attempts to analyze value added productivity at the company level. The index measured will effectively help managers supervise their companys. This study justifies that the proposed approach will stimulate manager's profit-motivation by providing them with value-oriented management instead of quantity-oriented method.

  • Due to the decrease in infrastructure investment and stagnation of overseas construction, it is concerned the instability of the construction market. Enhancing the Korean construction competitiveness, productivity improvement could be the breakthrough. In addition, defining construction contents utilizing virtual reality technology is drawing attention along with the trend of the fourth industrial revolution technology development toward the labor productivity improvement. This study conducted a survey to figure out the present state of the productivity management in field and comprehend the factors influence on construction productivity for further Korean construction productivity data platform.

  • In knowledge information society entering global unlimited competition era, our middle and small sized companies are the base of national and enterprise competitiveness and core base of national economy as an origin of jobs. The competitiveness of middle and small sized companies is so important to decide the level of the competitiveness of the whole industries, but the gap from big sized company is much low in comparison with advanced countries from angles of important factors of enterprise growth, productivity and technological competitiveness, so, it's urgent to improve the competitiveness through productivity enhancement. The purpose of this research is to do a positive study on effects of learning organization management outcomes of middle and small sized company on enterprise productivity among various types of outcome brought for strengthening of enterprise competitiveness. It confirmed learning organization has functions and usefulness as a management tool bringing positive effects on enterprise productivity through the Productivity improvement.

안전관리 및 생산 공정 개선을 통한 생산성 향상에 관한 연구 : 폴리우레탄 제조업체 사례 (A Study on Productivity Improvement through Safety Management and Manufacturing Process Reengineering : Case Study in Polyurethane Manufacturer)

  • Polyurethane is an elastomer polymer, which is flexible, tough and resistant. This material is widely used various fields such as automobile, aeroplane, textiles, construction industries. Currently there exists more than 1,000 manufacturing companies in Korea that are closely related to Polyurethane. In spite of a number of Polyurethane manufacturing companies, there are little attention in academia as well as industries to study the safety and manufacturing process improvement on Polyurethane. In this paper, we consider a case study for the Polyurethane manufacturer to improve productivity by using safety management and manufacturing process reengineering. After careful analysis, we derive three enhancements to increasing the safety and productivity for the target company. Especially, we achieve about 16% productivity improvement in roller manufacturing process by replacing manual stirring job with automated mixing machine.

A Case Study on Productivity Analysis and Methods Improvement for Masonry Work

  • In the construction industry, a great deal of research has been focused on productivity improvement because a minor change in labor productivity can often make the difference between a profit and a loss. This study shows how productivity measurement methods can be applied in practice, step by step, to analyze and identify potential problems both in productivity and methods performance for masonry work. A work sampling technique was conducted to determine the nature and extent of an observable activity as an aid to measuring overall performance. Also, a method productivity delay model was used to identify non-productivity in individual cycle times. From the work sampling technique, it was found that the masonry crew had a Labor Utilization Factor of 47.1%, and from the videotape analysis, it was found that the material and dumpster location need to be adjusted to reduce the travelling distance. We have found that efforts to improve the productivity of masonry work should be focused almost exclusively on machine and labor delays, based on the result from the method productivity delay model.

  • Many researches and projects are actively implemented in the academic world and industrial world in order to increase the productivity through changing utility layout. Effective layout makes the flow of parts and products go on wheels and helps labor forces and utilities to be used efficiently. In this study, we looked at effect on utility layout change through a case of a company making a fuel tank of vehicle in Korea. Due to the layout improvement, this company could have flowshop system on welding line, so the stock in line was decreased, checking the number of stock became easier than before and it was possible to evaluate exact cycle time per unit. Through not only confirming qualitative effect, but also checking quantitative effect such as UPH(Unit per Hour), we obtained the conclusion that the layout improvement increased the productivity.

  • 글로벌 시대인 현재의 산업사회는 점차 고도화, 첨단화의 경쟁사회로 발전되어 가고 있다. 이러한 현실에서 산업 형태를 불문하고 생산성의 풍요성은 날로 증대되고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 생산성의 향상은 최근 국내 현실이 겪고 있는 경제적 위기 상황을 극복하기 위해, 그리고 국제 산업 환경에서 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해 모든 산업 분야가 추구하여야 할 방향이기도 하다. 따라서 최근 어려움을 겪고 있는 국내 건설산업의 경우도 생산성 향상의 중요성은 절실히 필요하다. 본 논문은 하도급자를 대상으로 설문을 통한 분석을 토대로 건설생산성에 미치는 향상요인에 대한 책임을 분석한다. 이로 인해 저해요인들의 개선해야할 우선 순위를 알 수 있는 기초 자료로 볼 수 있다.

  • 최근 건설업은 국내 경기침체 및 규제강화로 인하여 위축되어 있다. 이를 해결하려는 방안으로 생산성의 향상에 대한 요구가 증하고 있으나, 제조업 등 다른 산업의 생산성향상을 위한 노력에 비하여 건설업은 미약한 실정이다. 하지만 건설업의 지역 환경조건, 다양한 공종 등 생산성에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요인이 많다는 것을 봤을 때 이러한 요인들의 특성을 이해하고, 상황에 맞게 활용 및 제어할 수 있다면 건축생산성은 향상 될 수 있을 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 건축 생산성 향상을 위해 설계 및 시공자의 시각으로 생산성 요인을 도출하여 그들의 관계 및 문제점을 시스템 사고를 통하여 분석하고 생산성향상을 위한 기회와 위협요인, 내 외부강점을 분석하여 생산성 향상 전략을 수립하였다.

  • Each company is more interested in the productivity to achieve cost reduction and profit maximization through productivity improvement. With this trend, we show the method to measure productivity using TPM(Total Productivity Model) which considers all the input factors of the company instead of using partial productivity such as labor and/or capital productivity We also examine the relation of productivity versus output, profit versus output and profit versus productivity of the case company by actually applying the TPM and suggest the optimal level of profit and output for this company.
