Manufacturer's Strategy and Capability for Service Transition (제품에서 서비스로 전환을 위한 제조기업의 서비스역량과 전략)

  • Manufacturers have started to adopt service as their offering mix in order to overcome slow growth, declining profitability and commoditization in the pure product market. Several companies like IBM and GE have shown that services would be a new source of revenue and a steady growth. Service covers a wide spectrum from a simple add-on service like repair to complex outsourcing service. Service adoption is a challenge for manufacturers who have been accustomed to product making and selling. Making, proposing, delivering and evaluating services needs a different and new capabilities for manufacturers. And service transition is closely related with capabilities which make a transition with a less risk. In this paper, a taxonomy of efforts is developed which build on the service transition literatures and cases. We provide a phased service transition strategy for manufacturers and service capabilities needed at each phases.

A Personalized Recommendation Methodology based on Collaborative Filtering (협업 필터링 기법을 활용한 개인화된 상품 추천 방법론 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The rapid growth of e-commerce has made both companies and customers face a new situation. Whereas companies have become to be harder to survive due to more and more competitions, the opportunity for customers to choose among more and more products has increased. So, the recommender systems that recommend suitable products to the customer have an important position in E-commerce. This research introduces collaborative filtering based recommender system which helps customers find the products they would like to purchase by producing a list of top-N recommended products. The suggested methodology is based on decision tree, product taxonomy, and association rule mining. Decision tree is used to select target customers, who have high possibility of purchasing recommended products. We applied the recommender system to a Korean department store. The methodology is evaluated with the analysis of a real department store case and is compared with other methodologies.

A Taxonomy of Female Consumers in Daegu (의복쇼핑성향에 따른 소비자의 유형분석 -대구 여성 거주자를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of the study were to classify apparel shoppers into specific apparel shopping orientation groups and to compare the classified groups on importance of store attributes, information sources, lifestyle activities, and demographic characteristics. The data were obtained from questionnaires filled out by 317 women in Daegu and were analysed by utilizing factor analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA. By cluster analysis of apparel shopping orientation factors, three groups were identified: Recreational shopper (48%), Economic shoppers (20%), Apathetic shoppers (32%). The results of ANOVA indicated that the cluster groups are significantly different in importance of store attributes (product assortment and shopping convenience), information sources (marketer-driven and consumer -driven), lifestyle activities (regular activities and activites for self-improvement), and IPmnuraDhic characteristics (age and education).

  • Mycoflora was assessed in the commercial meju from four well-separated geographic origins. A total of 112 fungal isolates were identified by phenotypic characteristics and molecular taxonomy using sequencing the internal transcribed spacer of the rDNA and revealed 19 species from 13 genera. Enzymatic characteristics of protease and amylase, and mycotoxin production were analyzed.

  • The morphological characteristics of newly isolated Cordyceps hepialidicola were characterized, and the phylogenetic relationships with other Cordyceps species were investigated using a sequence analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS). The PCR product of 592 bp showed a homology of 92 and 91% with C. militaris and C. nutans, respectively, In an in vitro model using mouse peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), a methanol extract of C. hepialidicola induced multiple cytokines, including IFN-${\gamma}$ IL-4, and IL-18. The extract also enhanced the percentages of the CD4$\^$+/ and CD8$\sub$+/ T cells in the healthy murine PBMCs to 56.1% and 13.0%,respectively. The percentages of CD4$\^$+/ and CD8$\^$+/ in the untreated controls were 28.4 and 7.3%, and concanavalin A-treated positive controls were 62.4 and 18.3%, respectively.

Recent researches on Sapstaining Fungi Colonizing Pines

  • During last decade there has been noticeable progress in the research of the biology of sapstaining fungi that cause considerable economic losses to forest product industry. The researches generated broad ranges of knowledge on sapstaining fungi regarding their occurrence on conifer wood, taxonomy, nutrient physiology, pigmentation biochemistry and molecular biology, and biological control. Major problematic groups in the sapstain production are Ophiostoma, Ceratocystis, and Leptographium genera. With Ophiostoma as a model, it is found that the type of carbon source is important in the growth and pigment production of sapstaining fungi. The operation of dihydroxy naphthalene (DHN) melanin pathway for black to bluish pigment production has been confirmed in those cosmetic fungi both at biochemical and molecular levels. The development of albino technology using nutrition competition has been shown to be promising as an environmentally friendly biological control method for sapstain control.

  • 본 논문은 구매이력 데이터에서 상품간의 분류 체계를 고려하여 시퀀스 간의 유사도를 계산하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 시퀀스란 두 항목간의 순서가 존재하는 데이터를 의미한다. 항목 간의 선후관계가 중요한 시퀀스 데이터에서는 두 시퀀스 간의 유사도를 정확히 정의하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 시퀀스 유사도 측정 알고리즘인 편집 거리 알고리즘을 활용하여 구매이력 데이터에서 시퀀스 간의 유사도를 정의한다. 상품은 상품의 특성에 따라 항목 분류 체계에서 여러 범주로 분류된다. 이 경우 기존의 편집 거리 알고리즘에서 문자의 일치유무에 따라 단순히 0 또는 1을 부여하는 것은 부정확하다. 따라서 본 논문은 편집 거리 알고리즘의 수정 연산 중 대체 연산 비용 계산 시 항목 분류 트리를 사용하여 연산 비용이 0 에서 1 사이의 값을 가지도록 세분화하였다. 실험 결과 제안 방법은 대체 연산 비용 계산 시 두 문자가 다르면 단순히 1 을 부여하는 기존의 편집 거리 알고리즘에 비해 시퀀스 간의 유사도를 더 정확하게 계산함을 확인하였다.

Re-Examination of Several Elsinoë Species Reported from Japan

  • Elsinoë are plant pathogenic fungi that cause scabs, spotted anthracnose, and some morphological distortions on various plants, including woody plants, economically important crops, and ornamental plants. Taxonomical reexamination of Elsinoë species in Japan has not yet been conducted based on the modern species criteria. In this study, several Japanese isolates were reexamine based on the morphological and molecular-phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS), large subunit gene (LSU)m and protein-coding gene such as RNA polymerase II subunit (rpb2) and Translation elongation factor 1-alpha (tef). Japanese isolates were divided into four clades and three new species, Elsinoë hydrangeae, E. sumire, and E. tanashiensis were proposed. One species, Sphaceloma akebiae, was transferred to the genus Elsinoë.

Toward a Conceptualization of Clothing Price Perception: A Taxonomy of shopping Behavior (의복가격지각의 다차원성에 관한 연구: 구매행동 유형화를 중심으로)

  • Price is a product attribute, which is determined by the function of the producing cost and profit. It is also identified as one of the most important components of the marketing mix. For consumers, price is an always-existing cue, definite evaluation criteria, and easily accessible information in the purchasing process. Considering the concept of the clothing-price in a comprehensive perspective encompassing economic, psychological and marketing perspectives, a theoretical model was developed. The model includes souses and dimensions of price perception and related behaviors. Souses of price perception were: the actual retail price at selling point, the internal reference price and external reference price. The dimensions of price perception included sacrifice perception, economic value perception, inference, savings perception and price as information perception. Clothing price related behaviors that flowed these dimensions were: low price consciousness, value for money consciousness, price-quality inference, price-prestige inference, sale proneness and price mavenism. An empirical study was conducted to validate the theoretical model. A questionnaire was developed and data were collected from 680 adult women living in Seoul, Korea. Confirmatory factor analysis as well as exploratory factor analysis results showed that theorized price related behaviors were successful classifications.

First Record of the Genus Palorus Mulsant in Korea (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae: Palorini) (한국 미기록속 Palorus Mulsant (딱정벌레목: 거저리과)의 보고)

  • Two species of the genus Palorus Mulsant of Palorini (Tenebrionidae) are reported for the first time from Korea, P. ratzeburgii (Wissman, 1848) and P. subdepressus (Wollaston, 1864). These species are economically importance as stored product insect pests in the tropical and subtropical countries, and occur in low densities in the rice mills of southern Korea. Adult morphology, taxonomic diagnosis, illustrations of diagnostic characteristics of these species, and a taxonomic key to the 6 species related to plant quarantine inspections in Korea are provided.
